In general, carriers are designed to deliver pharmaceutical (featuring small drug‐molecules) and biopharmaceutical (featuring large‐molecule drugs, e.g., antibodies, proteins, etc.) active ingredients and platform that is capable of transporting nanoparticles is rare. Herein, the fabrication of a supramolecular carrier with a nano‐grid structure for the entrapment of liposomes and exosomes is reported. The nano‐grid particles (NGP) are made of cyclodextrins as elementary units which are widely used to load drugs through host–guest inclusion complexes, whilst its secondary structure further formed the NGP tertiary architectures, enabling the entrapment of nanoparticles. The NGP features stimuli responsiveness, tunable surface charge, and good biocompatibility. The entrapped liposomes in NGP present enhanced distribution in lungs and extended duration of action in mice. And elongated release profiles for over 14 days is obtained for exosomes—making one‐of‐its‐kind unique platform to load and deliver nanoparticles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: High penetration of renewable energy is the development trend of the future power system. As one of the clean energy sources, wind power generation has an increasing share in the energy market. However, due to the harsh working environment, the high fault rate and poor accessibility of the wind farms, resulting in the difficult maintenance process and high cost. This article proposes a fault diagnosis (FD) method based on long short‐term memory (LSTM) and feature optimization strategies for wind turbines (WTs), thus reducing the operation and maintenance costs of WTs. First, Pearson correlation coefficient analysis is performed on the collected data features to remove redundant features, and wavelet transform is adopted to remove the redundant data, so as to optimize the fault features and fault data. Then the selected features samples are used to train LSTM‐based FD model. Finally, the actual production data is adopted to verify the proposed method. The proposed method can effectively locate the faults, and provide data support for wind farms, thus improving the reliability, safety, and economic benefits of wind farms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) and Salmonella Typhimurium (ST) are the most commonly reported serotypes detected for the occurrence of Salmonellosis through foodborne transmission in recent years. In this study, a phagomagnetic separation in combination with qPCR (PhMS‐qPCR) based on phage T102 as a recognition element was developed for rapid enrichment and detection of Salmonella in dairy products. Phage T102 was coated onto magnetic beads for capturing Salmonella from samples through magnetic separation, with a capture efficiency of ~90% demonstrated. During the subsequent qPCR process, captured Salmonella was identified by detecting the OmpC gene, and specific sdf and STM4495 genes to further distinguish the serotypes of Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) and Salmonella Typhimurium (ST), respectively. The whole procedure can be performed in 2.5 h with a low detection limit of 10 CFU/mL in PBS. Subsequently, this detection strategy was successfully applied for the detection of Salmonella and serotype identification in spiked milk samples. To study the effect of thickness on the fire spreading characteristics of aluminum composite panels, a reduced‐scale test bench was built to simulate the development of an overflow fire in a high‐rise building. Analysis of the fire spreading characteristics was performed in terms of the flame shape, flame height, fire spread rate, and temperature change. Then, an Fire Dynamics Simulatior model was established to verify the accuracy of the experiment using numerical simulations. The results showed that the flame shape of the 3 and 4 mm aluminum composite panels was a triangular cone, while the flame shape of the 5 and 6 mm aluminum composite panels was approximately rectangular. By establishing the dimensionless flame height, the flame height increased with the panel thickness. The fire spread rate of the aluminum composite panels increased first and then decreased upon increasing the thickness, which was consistent with the simulation results. The temperature change curves all showed a rapid initial increase and then a stable temperature in the later period. The simulation results conformed well to the experimental results. A base‐promoted three‐component oxidative sulfuration/cyclization reaction of 2‐amino‐1,4‐naphthoquinone, aldehyde and elemental sulfur was developed. The naphtho[2,3‐d]thiazole ring was determined by forming two C−S bonds and one C=N bond, which demonstrates the advantages of cheap raw materials, no transition metal, and economic efficiency. The substrate scope was broad with aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes. The mechanistic study might promote the reaction design for a oxidative sulfuration/cyclization reaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The structure and morphology of the substrate surface play critical roles in tuning the properties of the supported two‐dimension materials (2DM). In this work, a simple strategy to engineer the SrTiO3 single crystal into a trenched structure which is composed of atomically flat terraces and high steps of several nanometers is developed. Through the conventional chemical vapor deposition method, high quality single‐layered MoS2 nanosheets are successfully fabricated directly on the trenched SrTiO3 (Tr‐STO) substrate, which thus result in a heterostructure with well‐defined interface and controllable corrugated morphology. The corrugated MoS2/Tr‐STO sample displays a drastically suppressed photoluminescence as compared to those grown on atomically flat substrates. Detailed scanning probe microscopy in combination with optical spectroscopy measurements demonstrates that the photoluminescence quenching occurs exclusively in the MoS2 area carpeting the high SrTiO3 steps, which can be attributed to the significantly reduced bandgaps hence massively enriched free charges in these regions. This work not only provides a new strategy to tailor the 2DM properties by simply engineering the substrate surface corrugations, but also brings deep insights into the dependence of properties of the hybridized system on the interface morphologies. Lung cancer is a serious threat to human health with the highest morbidity and mortality; metastatic lung cancer accounts for a majority of cancer‐related deaths. Hence, there is considerable interest in developing efficient lung‐targeted drug delivery systems to improve overall survival and quality of life of lung cancer patients. Based on the lung‐targeting characteristics of cubic crosslinked cyclodextrin metal–organic framework (CDF) nanoparticles, this study shows the synthesis of a nanoplatform using RGD‐functionalized CDF to co‐deliver low‐molecular‐weight heparin (LMWH) and doxorubicin (DOX) for treatment of lung cancer. Rational design of the DOX‐loaded RGD‐CDF‐LMWH nanoplatform (RCLD) is carried out. RCLD nanoparticles are efficiently targeted to lung tumors following intravenous administration; RCLD accumulation in the lung is 5.8 times greater than that in the liver. Moreover, RCLD inhibits migration and invasion of cancer cells in vitro and significantly diminishes lung tumor nodule count and area of spread in human A549 and murine B16F10 lung cancer models in vivo. Furthermore, RCLD does not show serum enzyme or histopathologic indicators of tissue damage or adverse hematologic effects. Therefore, the multiple antitumor activities of this novel RCLD nanoplatform, alongside its safety profile for normal tissues, strongly support its use for targeted treatment of lung cancer. The compensatory growth response of juvenile three-keeled pond turtles, Chinemys reevesii, was investigated by food deprivation for 1-4 wk and then refeeding for 4 wk. After feeding resumed, only turtles that were deprived over 2 wk displayed higher specific growth rates than the continuously fed turtles for 1 wk, but their weights were lower than the control at the end of refeeding, showing a partial compensatory growth pattern. Their feeding rate, rather than the feed conversion efficiency and apparent digestibility of energy, was higher than the control during the compensatory phase, indicating that hyperphagia was responsible for the compensatory growth. As starvation intensified, protein concentrations of deprived turtles increased significantly, whereas the contents of fat tissues decreased sharply. After 4 wk of refeeding, the contents of fat tissues in deprived turtles returned to the control level, whereas protein concentrations did not, indicating that lipid rather than protein was the main fuel utilized during short-term starvation for juvenile turtles aged over 2 mo. Background The digital transformation of medical data provides opportunities to perform digital population health surveillance and identify people inadequately managed in usual care. We leveraged the electronic health records of a large health system to identify patients with markedly elevated blood pressure and characterize their follow-up care pattern. Methods and Results We included 373 861 patients aged 18 to 85 years, who had at least 1 outpatient encounter in the Yale New Haven Health System between January 2013 and December 2017. We described the prevalence and follow-up pattern of patients with at least 1 systolic blood pressure (SBP) ≥160 mm Hg or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) ≥100 mm Hg and patients with at least 1 SBP ≥180 mm Hg or DBP ≥120 mm Hg. Of 373 861 patients included, 56 909 (15.2%) had at least 1 SBP ≥160 mm Hg or DBP ≥100 mm Hg, and 10 476 (2.8%) had at least 1 SBP ≥180 mm Hg or DBP ≥120 mm Hg. Among patients with SBP ≥160 mm Hg or DBP ≥100 mm Hg, only 28.3% had a follow visit within 1 month (time window of follow-up recommended by the guideline) and 19.9% subsequently achieved control targets (SBP <130 mm Hg and DBP <80 mm Hg) within 6 months. Follow-up rate at 1 month and control rate at 6 months for patients with SBP ≥180 mm Hg or DBP ≥120 mm Hg was 31.9% and 17.2%. Conclusions Digital population health surveillance with an electronic health record identified a large number of patients with markedly elevated blood pressure and inadequate follow-up. Many of these patients subsequently failed to achieve control targets.

Background Characterizing and assessing the prevalence, awareness, and treatment patterns of patients with isolated diastolic hypertension (IDH) can generate new knowledge and highlight opportunities to improve their care. Methods and Results We used data from the China PEACE (Patient-centered Evaluative Assessment of Cardiac Events) Million Persons Project, which screened 2 351 035 participants aged 35 to 75 years between 2014 and 2018. IDH was defined as systolic and diastolic blood pressure of <140 and ≥90 mm Hg; awareness as self-reported diagnosis of hypertension; and treatment as current use of antihypertensive medications. Of the 2 310 184 participants included (mean age 55.7 years; 59.5% women); 73 279 (3.2%) had IDH, of whom 63 112 (86.1%) were untreated, and only 6512 (10.3%) of the untreated were aware of having hypertension. When compared with normotensives, participants who were <60 years, men, at least college educated, had body mass index of >28 kg/m 2 , consumed alcohol, had diabetes mellitus, and prior cardiovascular events were more likely to have IDH (all P <0.01). Among those with IDH, higher likelihood of awareness was associated with increased age, women, college education, body mass index of >28 kg/m 2 , higher income, diabetes mellitus, prior cardiovascular events, and Central or Eastern region (all P <0.05). Most treated participants with IDH reported taking only 1 class of antihypertensive medication. Conclusions IDH affects a substantial number of people in China, however, few are aware of having hypertension and most treated participants are poorly managed, which suggests the need to improve the diagnosis and treatment of people with IDH.
