Background: Ovarian cancer is a female‐specific malignancy with high morbidity and mortality. The metabolic reprogramming of tumor cells is closely related to the biological behavior of tumors. Methods: The prognostic signature of the metabolism‐related gene (MRGs) was established by LASSO‐Cox regression analysis. The prognostic signature of MRGs was also prognosticated in each clinical subgroup. These genes were subjected to functional enrichment analysis and tissue expression exploration. Analysis of the MRG prognostic signature in terms of immune cell infiltration and antitumor drug susceptibility was also performed. Results: A MRG prognostic signature including 21 genes was established and validated. Most of the 21 MRGs were expressed at different levels in ovarian cancer than in normal ovarian tissue. The enrichment analysis suggested that MRGs were involved in lipid metabolism, membrane organization, and molecular binding. The MRG prognostic signature demonstrated the predictive value of overall survival time in various clinical subgroups. The monocyte, NKT, Tgd and Tex cell scores showed differences between the groups with high‐ and low‐risk score. The antineoplastic drug analysis we performed provided information on ovarian cancer drug therapy and drug resistance. In vitro experiments verified that PLCH1 in 21 MRGs can regulate the apoptosis and proliferation of ovarian cancer cells. The flowers of selected Camellia yuhsienensis Hu specimens were studied at different stages of flowering to determine the volatile components of floral fragrance and how their concentrations changed during efflorescence. The mechanism of fragrance formation and release was also studied in order to provide a theoretical basis for the practical use of C. yuhsienensis Hu flowers. Headspace solid‐phase microextraction (HS‐SPME) was used to extract the natural floral volatile oils of C. yuhsienensis Hu at the different stages, and the floral fragrance components were analysed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). A total of 31, 59 and 55 compounds were detected at the budding, early‐blooming and full‐blooming stages respectively. These floral fragrance components included terpene alcohols, as well as other aromatic and aliphatic compounds, and the relative concentrations of the various compounds at different stages of flowering, were different, and those of fatty alcohols and terpene alcohols having higher relative contents at all stages. The main component at the budding stage of C. yuhsienensis Hu was ocimene, which has a grassy fragrance, accompanied by the scent of neroli oil, which gives it a refreshing, gentle and sweet, and explains why the floral fragrance of C. yuhsienensis Hu at the budding stage is extremely thin: the main component during the early‐blooming stage was 3‐carene. A higher percentage of 3‐carene increased the sweetness of the scent, manifesting the typical fragrant characteristics of C. yuhsienensis Hu. The main identified compound at the full‐blooming stage was α‐farnesene, which has a delicate fragrance, accompanied by a balsamic aroma, similar to the scent of gardenia, which is consistent with the sensory characteristics of C. yuhsienensis Hu. Selective and sensitive detection of Cyanide (CN−) is critical essential due to it is one of the most lethal chemicals and threat to human health. In this study, nitrogen‐doped carbon quantum dots (N‐CQDs) were synthesized by one‐step hydrothermal method using 4‐aminosalicylic acid and tartaric acid as raw materials. The prepared N‐CQDs were spherical particles with good water solubility and uniform particle size distribution, the optimal excitation and emission wavelengths of N‐CQDs were 495 nm and 514 nm, respectively. Based on the selective fluorescence quenching effect between CN− and N‐CQDs, achieving accurate and rapid detection of CN−. Fluorescence quantum yield (PLQY) of N‐CQDs is 39 %, and the other competing anions showed little or no interference to CN−. For highly sensitivity detections of N‐CQDs under optimal conditions, the fluorescence quenching degree was linearly correlated with the CN− concentration in the range of 0–100 μM (R2=0.9929). Introduction: Stage IB (deep myometrial invasion) high‐grade endometrioid adenocarcinoma (EA), regardless of LVSI status, is classified into high‐intermediate risk groups, requiring surgical lymph node staging. Intraoperative frozen section (IFS) is commonly used, but its adequacy and reliability vary between reports. Hence, we determined the utility of IFS in identification of high‐risk factors, including deep myometrial invasion and high‐grade. Method: We retrospectively analyzed 9,985 cases operated with hysterectomy and diagnosed with FIGO stage I/II EA in postoperative paraffin section (PS) results at 30 Chinese hospitals from 2000 to 2019. We determined diagnostic performance of IFS and investigated whether the addition of IFS to preoperative biopsy and imaging could improve identification of high‐risk factors. Results: IFS and postoperative PS presented the highest concordance in assessing deep myometrial invasion (Kappa: 0.834), followed by intraoperative gross examination (IGE Kappa: 0.643), MRI (Kappa: 0.395), and CT (Kappa: 0.207). IFS and postoperative PS presented the highest concordance for high‐grade EA (Kappa: 0.585) compared to diagnostic curettage (D&C 0.226) and hysteroscope (Hys 0.180). Sensitivity and specificity for detecting deep myometrial invasion were 86.21 and 97.20% for IFS versus 51.72 and 88.81% for MRI, 68.97 and 94.41% for IGE. These figures for detecting high‐grade EA were 58.21 and 96.50% for IFS versus 16.42 and 98.83% for D&C, 13.43 and 98.64% for Hys. Parallel strategies, including MRI‐IFS (Kappa: 0.626), D&C‐IFS (Kappa: 0.595), and Hys‐IFS (Kappa: 0.578) improved the diagnostic efficiencies of individual preoperative examinations. Based on the high sensitivity of IFS, parallel strategies improved the sensitivities of preoperative examinations to 89.66% (MRI), 64.18% (D&C), 62.69% (Hys), respectively, and these differences were statistically significant (p = 0.000). Conclusion: IFS presented reasonable agreement rates predicting postoperative PS results, including deep myometrial invasion and high‐grade. Although effective, immune checkpoint blockade induces response in only a subset of cancer patients. There is an urgent need to discover new immune checkpoint targets. Recently, it was found that a class of sialic acid–binding immunoglobulin‐like lectins (Siglecs) expressed on the surface of T cells in cancer patients inhibit T cell activation through their intracellular immunosuppressive motifs by recognizing sialic acid–carrying glycans, sialoglycans. However, ligands of Siglecs remain elusive. Here, we report sialylated IgG (SIA‐IgG), a ligand to Siglec‐7, that is highly expressed in epithelial cancer cells. SIA‐IgG binds Siglec‐7 directly and inhibits TCR signals. Blocking of either SIA‐IgG or Siglec‐7 elicited potent antitumor immunity in T cells. Our study suggests that blocking of Siglec‐7/SIA‐IgG offers an opportunity to enhance immune function while simultaneously sensitizing cancer cells to immune attack. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: Fruits and vegetables (F&V) provide people with a variety of essential vitamins, antioxidants and dietary fibre, thus constituting integral components of human diet. With the surge of interest in F&V, their consumption ratio has kept increasing in recent years. Unfortunately, microorganisms and pesticide residues on the surfaces of F&V may be hazardous to humans. As an emerging technology, electrolysed water (EW) shows great application potential in reducing these hazards. EW treatment not only effectively removes microorganisms from F&V but also degrades pesticide residues on their surfaces. In addition, EW treatment affects the physiological metabolism of harvested F&V, which is conducive to maintain their sensory quality and nutritional value. This article reviews the principles of EW preparation, advantages and disadvantages, and the application of EW in F&V in the last decade, including disinfection of irrigation water, removal of pesticide residues, disinfection after harvest its effects on physicochemical parameters and enzyme activity of F&V, etc. Moreover, the combination of EW and other technology, including ozone, short‐time heat treatment, ultraviolet irradiation and ultrasound, to further improve the quality control effects of F&V is discussed. The study aimed to establish a strategy to elucidate the in vivo constituents of Angelicae Pubescentis Radix (APR, also known as Duhuo) and reveal the probable mechanisms underlying its anti‐rheumatoid arthritis activity. First recorded by Shennong Bencao Jing, APR is mainly used to treat Bi syndrome. Eleven absorbed components of APR were successfully identified using the rheumatoid arthritis (RA) rat model and the UHPLC–QTOF/MS technique. Two active ingredients (osthole and columbianadin) and five corresponding targets (PTGS1, PTGS2, RXRA, CCNA2 and ACHE) were found to construct a compound–protein interaction network in RA. In addition, a non‐alcoholic fatty liver disease pathway, which was related to anti‐RA activity, was eventually identified by KEGG analysis. Subsequently, molecular docking was performed by establishing a mixed matrix network, including the absorbed component, corresponding target and signaling pathway with two key compounds (osthole and columbianadin) and two important targets (PTGS2 and PTGS1). Immune infiltration of ovarian cancer (OV) is a critical factor in determining patient's prognosis. Using data from TCGA and GTEx database combined with WGCNA and ESTIMATE methods, 46 genes related to OV occurrence and immune infiltration were identified. Lasso and multivariate Cox regression were applied to define a prognostic score (IGCI score) based on 3 immune genes and 3 types of clinical information. The IGCI score has been verified by K‐M curves, ROC curves and C‐index on test set. In test set, IGCI score (C‐index = 0.630) is significantly better than AJCC stage (C‐index = 0.541, p < 0.05) and CIN25 (C‐index = 0.571, p < 0.05). In addition, we identified key mutations to analyse prognosis of patients and the process related to immunity. Chi‐squared tests revealed that 6 mutations are significantly (p < 0.05) related to immune infiltration: BRCA1, ZNF462, VWF, RBAK, RB1 and ADGRV1. According to mutation survival analysis, we found 5 key mutations significantly related to patient prognosis (p < 0.05): CSMD3, FLG2, HMCN1, TOP2A and TRRAP. RB1 and CSMD3 mutations had small p‐value (p < 0.1) in both chi‐squared tests and survival analysis. The drug sensitivity analysis of key mutation showed when RB1 mutation occurs, the efficacy of six anti‐tumour drugs has changed significantly (p < 0.05). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We previously observed decreased expression of rice OsmiR159a.1 on infection with the bacterial blight‐causing pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), and identified the OsLRR_RLK (leucine‐rich repeat_ receptor like kinase) gene as an authentic target of OsmiR159a.1. Here, we found that a Tos17 insertion mutant of LRR_RLK displayed increasing temporal resistance to Xoo, whereas the LRR_RLK overexpression lines were susceptible to the pathogen early on in the infection, indicating that LRR_RLK encodes a repressor of rice resistance to Xoo infection, and it was renamed as RIR1 (Rice Immunity Repressor 1). RIR1 overexpression plants were more susceptible to Xoo at late growth stage, suggesting that RIR1 mRNA levels are negatively correlated with the resistance of rice against Xoo. We discovered that OsmiR159a.1 repression in Xoo‐infected plants was largely dependent on the pathogen's type III secretion system. Co‐immunoprecipitation, bimolecular fluoresence complementation, and pull‐down assays indicated that RIR1 interacted with the NADH‐ubiquinone oxidoreductase (NUO) 51‐kDa subunit of the mitochondrial complex I through its kinase domain. Notably, impairment of RIR1 or overexpression of NUO resulted in reactive oxygen species accumulation and enhanced expression of pathogen‐resistance genes, including jasmonic acid pathway genes. We propose that pathogens may inhibit OsmiR159 to interfere with the RIR1–NUO interaction, and subsequently depression of rice immune signalling pathways. Lidocaine, one of the most commonly used local anesthetics during surgery, has been reported to suppress cancer cell growth via blocking voltage‐gated sodium channels (VGSCs). VGSC 1.5 (NaV1.5) is highly expressed in invasive cancers including ovarian cancer. This study aims to investigate whether lidocaine inhibits the malignancy of ovarian cancer through NaV1.5 blockage. Human ovarian cancer, its metastatic cancer and normal ovarian tissues were probed with anti‐NaV1.5 antibody in situ. Human ovarian cancer A2780 and SKOV3 cells were cultured and their growth, epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT), migration, and invasion in the presence or absence of lidocaine together with underlying molecular mechanisms were assessed. Murine syngeneic ovarian cancer (ID8) model was also used to determine the chemotherapeutic efficiency of cisplatin in combination with lidocaine. The high level of NaV1.5 expression was found in human ovarian cancer and even higher in its metastatic cancer but not in normal ovarian tissues. Lidocaine decreased the growth, EMT, migration, and invasion of human ovarian cancer A2780 and SKOV3 cells. Lidocaine enhanced the chemotherapeutic efficiency of cisplatin in both ovarian cancer cell cultures and a murine ovarian metastatic model. Furthermore, a downregulation of NaV1.5 by siRNA transfection, or FAK inhibitor application, inhibited the malignant properties of SKOV3 cells through inactivating FAK/Paxillin signaling pathway. Our data may indicate that lidocaine suppresses the metastasis of ovarian cancer and sensitizes cisplatin through blocking NaV1.5‐mediated EMT and FAK/paxillin signaling pathway. This study investigates an integrated wheel slip, yaw rate, and sideslip angle control via torque vectoring to improve both the longitudinal and lateral stability of electric vehicles (EVs) with four in‐wheel motors. The algorithm is developed based on model predictive control (MPC) and thus can optimally reach a balance among different objectives while considering actuation and state constraints. Firstly, to deal with tyre non‐linearity and variations in the lateral tyre forces due to changes in tyre slip ratios, the mechanism of using torque vectoring to improve vehicle stability is analysed. Then, a non‐linear tyre model is introduced into the predictive model to characterise the tyre force coupling relationship. Here, a linear‐parameter‐varying (LPV) model is employed, which is derived by linearising the nonlinear vehicle model online. Moreover, the stability control of EVs with in‐wheel motors is transformed into a constrained online optimisation problem and solved using the proposed LPV‐MPC method. Finally, the proposed LPV‐MPC is compared with some existing well‐established techniques from literature in different test scenarios. The obtained results demonstrate that the LPV‐MPC approach could reduce the computational burden and shows a precise longitudinal control and obviously improves the lateral stability. Over the past several decades, the automobile industry has denoted significant research efforts to developing in‐wheel‐motor‐driven autonomous ground vehicles (IWM‐AGVs) with active front‐wheel steering. One of the most fundamental issues for IWM‐AGVs is path following, which is important for automated driving to ensure that the vehicle can track a target‐planned path during local navigation. However, the path‐following task may fail if the system experiences a stuck fault in the active front‐wheel steering. In this paper, a fault‐tolerant control (FTC) strategy is presented for the path following of IWM‐AGVs in the presence of a stuck fault in the active front‐wheel steering. For this purpose, differential steering is used to generate differential torque between the left and right wheels in IWM‐AGVs, and an adaptive triple‐step control approach is applied to realize coordinated lateral and longitudinal path‐following maneuvering. The parameter uncertainties for the cornering stiffness and external disturbances are considered to make the vehicles robust to different driving environments. Deoxynivalenol (DON) has drawn global attention because of its prevalence and significant effects on human or animal health. Biological remedies for DON have been developed from preharvest to postharvest. Applying microbes, including bacteria, fungi (yeast and molds), and enzymes, results in inhibited synthesis, structural destruction, or adsorption of DON. DON can be degraded into masked forms by phase I metabolism or phase II metabolism. During food processing, DON content changes dynamically and is even transformed. Physical, chemical, thermal, or biological processes physically reduce DON content. Temperature, heating time, enzymes, food additives, microorganisms, food composition, contamination level, and other ingredients are key factors. Although DON content can be reduced during food processing, increases in other toxins, such as DON‐3‐β‐d‐glucoside and 3‐acetyl‐DON, can be potentially risky. The application of biodegradation methods in food processing bears research significance. Both microorganisms and enzymes can be potentially used. Novel techniques, such as RNA interference, omics technologies, or enzymes coupled with the genetic engineering method, can be introduced. This review systematically updates the understanding of masked forms of DON, biological degradation strategy, fate of DON during processing, and future trends for biodegradation. Challenges to the successful application of biological methods may include the stability and suitability of the detoxification agents, security of degradation products, and successful application for industrial production. Recent research has revealed that cardiac telocytes (CTs) play an important role in cardiac physiopathology and the regeneration of injured myocardium. Recently, we reported that the adult Xenopus tropicalis heart can regenerate perfectly in a nearly scar‐free manner after injury via apical resection. However, whether telocytes exist in the X tropicalis heart and are affected in the regeneration of injured X tropicalis myocardium is still unknown. The present ultrastructural and immunofluorescent double staining results clearly showed that CTs exist in the X tropicalis myocardium. CTs in the X tropicalis myocardium were mainly twined around the surface of cardiomyocyte trabeculae and linked via nanocontacts between the ends of the telopodes, forming a three‐dimensional network. Osteoporosis is characterized by decreased bone mass and degenerating bone structure, which cause severe bone fragility and increase the risk for fractures. Human bone mesenchymal stem cells (hBMSCs) differentiate into osteoblasts through osteogenesis, and disturbances in the balance between bone generation and degeneration underlie the pathogenesis of senile osteoporosis. The highly conserved glycoprotein Ribophorin II (RPN2) is involved in multiple biological reactions, but the role of RPN2 in the osteogenic differentiation of hBMSCs and their molecular etiology is incompletely understood. Here, we show that RPN2 expression is up‐regulated in hBMSCs during osteogenic differentiation. In vitro assays revealed that silencing of RPN2 inhibited hBMSC differentiation into osteoblasts. Moreover, RPN2 overexpression enhanced the expression of linked genes and resulted in high alkaline phosphatase activity. Our results suggest that RPN2 targets Janus kinase 1 (JAK1), and RPN2 overexpression was observed to induce JAK1 ubiquitination. Depletion of JAK1 facilitated osteogenic differentiation of RPN2‐silenced hBMSCs. Moreover, western blot analysis revealed that RPN2 silencing suppressed the stimulation and nuclear translocation of the downstream signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 sensor; this could be reversed via RPN2 overexpression. Aim: The goal of this study was to analyze the specificity of p16/Ki67 dual staining in the detection of high‐grade cervical lesions. Methods: A total of 223 patients with an average age of 39 years old were enrolled in this study. All samples were analyzed by p16/Ki67 immunocytochemical dual staining, liquid‐based cytology and high‐risk human papillomavirus (HR‐HPV) test. Diagnosis of each patient was verified by histopathological test. Results: The specificity of p16/Ki67 dual staining was 68.33%, which was significantly higher than that of cytology (38.33%) and HR‐HPV test (21.67%) (P < 0.05) for CIN2+ detection. p16/Ki67 dual staining had similar sensitivity with HR‐HPV test for CIN2+ detection (90.18% vs 93.87%, P = 0.286). In atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASC‐US) and low‐grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL) cases, the specificity of p16/Ki67 dual staining was significantly higher than that of HPV test (66.67% vs 3.70%, P < 0.05) and its sensitivity was similar to that of HPV test for CIN2+ detection. The sensitivity and specificity of dual staining for CIN2+ detection in HR‐HPV positive women were 90.85% and 70.21%, respectively, which were higher than those of cytology (83.01% and 42.55%) and HPV16/18 test (70.59% and 44.68%). Conclusions: p16/Ki67 dual staining could improve the specificity of high‐grade cervical lesions detection and have similar sensitivity to HPV test for CIN2+ detection. When triaging women with ASC‐US or LSIL liquid‐based cytology, compared with positive HR‐HPV, the specificity of CIN2+ lesion detection was increased by p16/Ki67 dual staining. p16/Ki67 dual staining could reduce colposcopy referrals and avoid excessive diagnosis and treatment. DNA-dependent activator of interferon regulatory factors/Z- DNA binding protein 1 ( DAI/ ZBP1) is a crucial sensor of necroptotic cell death induced by murine cytomegalovirus ( MCMV) in its natural host. Here, we show that viral capsid transport to the nucleus and subsequent viral IE3-dependent early transcription are required for necroptosis. Necroptosis induction does not depend on input virion DNA or newly synthesized viral DNA. A putative RNA-binding domain of DAI/ ZBP1, Zα2, is required to sense virus and trigger necroptosis. Thus, MCMV IE3-dependent transcription from the viral genome plays a crucial role in activating DAI/ ZBP1-dependent necroptosis. This implicates RNA transcripts generated by a large double-stranded DNA virus as a biologically relevant ligand for DAI/ ZBP1 during natural viral infection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

GLABRA1 (GL1) is an R2R3 MYB transcription factor that regulates trichome formation in Arabidopsis by interacting with the bHLH transcription factor GLABRA3 (GL3) or ENHANCER OF GL3 (EGL3). The conserved [D/E]L×2 [R/K]×3L×6L×3R amino acid signature in the R3 domain of MYB proteins has been shown to be required for the interaction of MYBs with R/B-like bHLH transcription factors. By using genetic and molecular analyses, we show that the glabrous phenotype in the nph4-1 mutant is caused by a single nucleotide mutation in the GL1 gene, generating a Ser to Phe substitution (S92F) in the conserved [D/E]L×2[R/K]×3L×6L×3R amino acid signature of GL1. Activation of the integrated GL2p:GUS reporter gene in protoplasts by cotransfection of GL1 and GL3 or EGL3 was abolished by this GL1-S92F substitution. However, GL1-S92F interacted successfully with GL3 or EGL3 in protoplast transfection assays. Unlike VPGL1GL3, the fusion protein VPGL1-S92FGL3 failed to activate the integrated GL2p:GUS reporter gene in transfected protoplasts. These results suggested that the S92 in the conserved [D/E]L×2 [R/K]×3L×6L×3R amino acid signature of GL1 is not essential for the interaction of GL1 and GL3, but may play a role in the binding of GL1 to the promoters of its target genes. Soil microbial biomass is a key determinant of carbon dynamics in the soil. Several studies have shown that soil microbial biomass significantly increases with plant species diversity, but it remains unclear whether plant species diversity can also stabilize soil microbial biomass in a changing environment. This question is particularly relevant as many global environmental change ( GEC) factors, such as drought and nutrient enrichment, have been shown to reduce soil microbial biomass. Experiments with orthogonal manipulations of plant diversity and GEC factors can provide insights whether plant diversity can attenuate such detrimental effects on soil microbial biomass. Here, we present the analysis of 12 different studies with 14 unique orthogonal plant diversity × GEC manipulations in grasslands, where plant diversity and at least one GEC factor (elevated CO2, nutrient enrichment, drought, earthworm presence, or warming) were manipulated. Our results show that higher plant diversity significantly enhances soil microbial biomass with the strongest effects in long-term field experiments. In contrast, GEC factors had inconsistent effects with only drought having a significant negative effect. Importantly, we report consistent non-significant effects for all 14 interactions between plant diversity and GEC factors, which indicates a limited potential of plant diversity to attenuate the effects of GEC factors on soil microbial biomass. This study presents a novel reduced‐order non‐linear observer for vehicle velocities estimation based on vehicle dynamics and Unified Exponential tire model. Yaw rate is chosen to construct the reduced‐order observer since it can be conceived as the function of vehicle velocities. The observer is designed such that the error dynamics system is input‐to‐state stability (ISS), where model errors including mass and CoG variation, and estimation or measurement error of the maximum tire–road friction coefficient are considered as additive disturbance inputs. Then, the condition of the observer gain satisfied is obtained by the ISS analysis and the lower observer gain is obtained through the convex optimisation described by the linear matrix inequalities. The proposed observer requires fewer tuning parameters and thus indicates an easier implementation compared with the existing extended Kalman filter. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed reduced‐order non‐linear observer, which is also validated through experimental data from Hongqi vehicle HQ430. Atomic‐level modulation of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) structure for enhanced photocatalytic oxidation is highly important but still challenging. Herein, a series of β‐ketoenamine‐linked COFs have been synthesized by using 2,4,6‐triformyl‐phloroglucinol (Tp) as a modular molecule, 5,5′‐Diamino‐2,2′‐bipyridine (Bpy), and 3,6‐Pyridazinediamine (Dz) linkers with atomic level N sites substitute 4,4′‐diamino‐bipheny (BD) and 1,4‐phenylenediamine (Pa) to construct COFs with adjustable photocatalytic performance. Mechanism study reveals that in COFs with N sites‐based linkers, 1O2 adsorbed on the pore walls of TpBpy‐COF (−4.23 kcal mol−1) and TpDz‐COF (−4.63 kcal mol−1) with higher adsorption energy than on TpBD‐COF (−2.73 kcal mol−1) and TpPa‐COF (−2.17 kcal mol−1), enabling 1O2 activation and high catalytic performance toward thioether oxidation with almost >99% conversion, outperforming most reported organic photocatalysts. Notably, TpBpy‐COF exhibits a superior catalytic activity for thioether oxidation (e.g., aromatic thioethers, aliphatic sulfide, and Mustard Gas sulfide) because of its narrow bandgap, fast charge separation and transfer ability, and single‐ended activation ability. In this paper, nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) is proposed for autonomous vehicle drifting, that is, stabilizing the vehicle at a desired unstable equilibrium point. Firstly, a three‐degree‐of‐freedom vehicle model with a nonlinear tire model is introduced, and the equilibrium points are calculated. The relationship between the desired unstable equilibrium point and the lateral stability region is analyzed based on the phase plane method. Secondly, NMPC is designed to force vehicle states to stay around the desired unstable equilibrium point, that is, to keep the vehicle in sustained drifting. The terminal region and terminal constraint of NMPC are determined off‐line to guarantee stability. Thirdly, Koopman operator theory and dynamic mode decomposition with control are introduced to obtain an approximately linear model, by which the nonlinear optimization problem is converted to a quadratic programming problem. Finally, comparative experiments are conducted by simulation, in which various model uncertainties are considered. The effectiveness of the proposed approach to achieve sustained autonomous drifting and to ensure vehicle safety is illustrated, and the efficient implementation of the proposed approach is also shown.
