The article discusses the reasons for the lack of violence by oppositional groups in Iran. According to the author, these people have lived through a revolution and a very bloody war with Iraq and they have no desire to repeat such experience. The three factors for Iran's lack of violence are also discussed, which are the country's independence, the integration of religion and politics and the hope for change provided by the emergence of an internal reform movement.

An introduction to the journal is presented in which the editor discusses various reports published within the issue including one on the war in Yemen since 2004, one on the role of the Yemeni ruling party, the General People's Congress, in the war and another on the stateless bidun population in Kuwait.
