Self‐injurious behavior is thought to be the product of interactions between deficits related to a primary disability (e.g., limited communication repertoires and adaptive skills) and learning experiences that reinforce problem behavior (e.g., consoling the child, terminating non‐preferred activities, etc.). For these cases, functional communication training (FCT) may be prescribed to decrease challenging behavior and increase the client's communicative repertoire. However, FCT procedures for individuals with multiple physical impairments may require considerable individualization and modifications. Unfortunately, the existing body of research related to the assessment and treatment of behavior of individuals with motor, visual, or other impairments is relatively limited. The purpose of this report is to demonstrate how practitioners can modify assessment and treatment procedures to decrease challenging behavior and promote independence when working with individuals with multiple impairments. We provide an example of effective skill acquisition and behavior reduction interventions for a young girl, Ava, presenting with multiple disabilities—including visual, hearing, and motor impairments. Consistent with the habilitative aims of applied behavior analysis, the intervention was effective at decreasing Ava's challenging behavior and increasing her independent communication and adaptive behavior. Summary: Plants naturally harbor diverse microbiomes that can dramatically impact their health and productivity. However, it remains unclear how fungal microbiome diversity, especially in the phyllosphere, impacts intermicrobial interactions and consequent nonadditive effects on plant productivity.Combining manipulative experiments, field collections, culturing, microbiome sequencing, and synthetic consortia, we experimentally tested for the first time how foliar fungal community diversity impacts plant productivity. We inoculated morning glories (Ipomoea hederifolia L.) with 32 phyllosphere consortia of either low or high diversity or with single fungal taxa, and measured effects on plant productivity and allocation.We found the following: (1) nonadditive effects were pervasive with 56% of fungal consortia interacting synergistically or antagonistically to impact plant productivity, including some consortia capable of generating acute synergism (e.g. > 1000% increase in productivity above the additive expectation), (2) interactions among 'commensal' fungi were responsible for this nonadditivity in diverse consortia, (3) synergistic interactions were approximately four times stronger than antagonistic effects, (4) fungal diversity affected the magnitude but not frequency or direction of nonadditivity, and (5) diversity affected plant performance nonlinearly with the highest performance in low‐diversity treatments.These findings highlight the importance of interpreting plant–microbiome interactions under a framework that incorporates intermicrobial interactions and nonadditive outcomes to understand natural complexity. Infants rely on developing attention skills to identify relevant stimuli in their environments. Although caregivers are socially rewarding and a critical source of information, they are also one of many stimuli that compete for infants' attention. Young infants preferentially hold attention on caregiver faces, but it is unknown whether they also preferentially orient to caregivers and the extent to which these attention biases reflect reward‐based attention mechanisms. To address these questions, we measured 4‐ to 10‐month‐old infants' (N = 64) frequency of orienting and duration of looking to caregiver and stranger faces within multi‐item arrays. We also assessed whether infants' attention to these faces related to individual differences in Surgency, an indirect index of reward sensitivity. Although infants did not show biased attention to caregiver versus stranger faces at the group level, infants were increasingly biased to orient to stranger faces with age and infants with higher Surgency scores showed more robust attention orienting and attention holding biases to caregiver faces. These effects varied based on the selective attention demands of the task, suggesting that infants' attention biases to caregiver faces may reflect both developing attention control skills and reward‐based attention mechanisms. Objectives: Theory and research suggest that distinct self‐damaging behaviours (SDBs; e.g., nonsuicidal self‐injury [NSSI], restrictive eating, binge eating, drug misuse, alcohol misuse) share similar motives. However, few studies have used a common self‐report inventory to investigate the shared relevance and relative salience of motives for SDBs. Accordingly, the present study: (1) examined whether self‐report scales assessing intrapersonal motives (i.e., relieving negative emotions, enhancing positive emotions, punishing oneself) and interpersonal motives (i.e., bonding with others, conforming with others, communicating distress, communicating strength, reducing demands) have invariant factor structures across SDBs; and (2) compared the salience of these motives across SDBs. Methods: 1018 adults (54.6% men, Mage = 35.41 years) with a history of SDBs were allocated to the following groups: NSSI (n = 213), restrictive eating (n = 200), binge eating (n = 200), drug misuse (n = 200) or alcohol misuse (n = 205). Participants reported on their motives for engaging in their allocated SDB. Measurement invariance analyses compared the factor structures and latent means of the motive scales across SDBs. Results: The motive scales had comparable factor structures across SDBs. Intrapersonal motives were most strongly endorsed for NSSI and drug misuse. Interpersonal motives were most strongly endorsed for drug and alcohol misuse. All motives were least salient to restrictive eating. Conclusions: Results suggest that common motives underlie distinct SDBs and that they can be adequately assessed using a single self‐report inventory. However, certain motives are more relevant to some SDBs than others, with restrictive eating being the most motivationally distinct SDB. As students transition to university, they experience significant social changes that can affect their behaviors, including self‐damaging behaviors like disordered eating, problematic alcohol/drug use, suicidal thoughts, and non‐suicidal self‐injury (NSSI). Building on prior work, we examined the associations between (1) perceptions of peers' engagement in self‐damaging behaviors predicting one's own subsequent engagement in such behaviors (i.e., socialization) and (2) one's own engagement in self‐damaging behaviors predicting perceptions of peers' subsequent engagement in such behaviors (i.e., selection). We also examined whether these associations were moderated by the source of influence (close peer/acquaintance) and degree of social disconnection experienced by the student. First‐year university students (N = 704) were asked to complete seven monthly surveys. Multilevel models indicated that when students perceived their close peers had engaged in NSSI or suicidal thinking, they had seven times greater odds of future engagement in the same behavior, implying that socialization increases the risk of these behaviors among university students. Perception of acquaintances' NSSI also predicted greater odds of a student's own NSSI the following month. Social disconnection increased the likelihood of matching own behaviors to perceptions of acquaintances' alcohol abuse, highlighting the importance of fostering connections/mentors to reduce self‐damaging behaviors on college campuses. Furthermore, when students engaged in alcohol abuse, they had almost four times greater odds of reporting that their acquaintances abused alcohol the following month, emphasizing the importance of the wider social network in alcohol use behaviors. Background and Aims: Prior to next‐generation sequencing (NGS), the evaluation of a patient with neuropathy typically consisted of screening for acquired causes, followed by clinical genetic testing of PMP22, MFN2, GJB1, and MPZ in patients with a positive family history and symptom onset prior to age 50. In this study, we examined the clinical utility of NGS in a large cohort of patients analyzed in a commercial laboratory. Methods: A cohort of 6849 adult patients underwent clinician‐ordered peripheral neuropathy multigene panel testing ranging from 66 to 111 genes that included NGS and intragenic deletion/duplication analysis. Results: A molecular diagnosis was identified for 8.4% of the cohort (n = 573/6849). Variants in PMP22, MFN2, GJB1, MPZ, and TTR accounted for 73.8% of molecular diagnoses. Results had potential clinical actionability for 398 (69.5%) patients. Our results suggest that 225/573 (39.3%) of molecular diagnoses and 113/398 (28.4%) of clinical interventions would have been missed if the testing approach had been restricted to older guidelines. Interpretation: Our results highlight the need for expanded genetic testing guidelines that account for the increased number of genes associated with hereditary neuropathy, address the overlap of acquired and hereditary neuropathy, and provide broader access to genetic diagnosis for patients. Premature ovarian insufficiency is a common form of female infertility affecting up to 4% of women and characterised by amenorrhea with elevated gonadotropin before the age of 40. Oocytes require controlled DNA breakage and repair for homologous recombination and the maintenance of oocyte integrity. Biallelic disruption of the DNA damage repair gene, Fanconi anemia complementation group A (FANCA), is a common cause of Fanconi anaemia, a syndrome characterised by bone marrow failure, cancer predisposition, physical anomalies and POI. There is ongoing dispute about the role of heterozygous FANCA variants in POI pathogenesis, with insufficient evidence supporting causation. Here, we have identified biallelic FANCA variants in French sisters presenting with POI, including a novel missense variant of uncertain significance and a likely pathogenic deletion that initially evaded detection. Functional studies indicated no discernible effect on DNA damage sensitivity in patient lymphoblasts. These novel FANCA variants add evidence that heterozygous loss of one allele is insufficient to cause DNA damage sensitivity and POI. We propose that intragenic deletions, that are relatively common in FANCA, may be missed without careful analysis, and could explain the presumed causation of heterozygous variants. Objective: Social determinants of health (SDoH) likely contribute to outcome disparities in lupus nephritis (LN). Understanding the overall burden and contribution of each domain could guide future health equity–focused interventions to improve outcomes and reduce disparities in LN. Objectives of this meta‐analysis were to 1) determine the association of overall SDoH and specific SDoH domains on LN outcomes and 2) develop a framework for the multidimensional impact of SDoH on LN outcomes. Methods: We performed a comprehensive search of studies measuring associations between SDoH and LN outcomes. We examined pooled odds of poor LN outcomes including death, end‐stage kidney disease, or cardiovascular disease in patients with and without adverse SDoH. Additionally, we calculated the pooled odds ratios of outcomes by four SDoH domains: individual (eg, insurance), health care (eg, fragmented care), community (eg, neighborhood socioeconomic status), and health behaviors (eg, smoking). Results: Among 531 screened studies, 31 meeting inclusion criteria and 13 with raw data were included in meta‐analysis. Pooled odds of poor outcomes were 1.47‐fold higher in patients with any adverse SDoH. Patients with adverse SDoH in individual and health care domains had 1.64‐fold and 1.77‐fold higher odds of poor outcomes. We found a multiplicative impact of having two or more adverse SDoH on LN outcomes. Black patients with public insurance and fragmented care had 12‐fold higher odds of poor LN outcomes. Conclusion: Adverse SDoH is associated with poor LN outcomes. Objectives Methods Results Conclusions The accommodation of symptoms of obsessive‐compulsive disorder (OCD) by loved ones is highly prevalent and impactful on treatment outcomes; however, little is known about factors that influence accommodation by romantic partners of OCD sufferers. The aim of this preliminary investigation was to explore such correlates.A community sample of 50 patients self‐identifying with OCD (Mage = 29.3; SD = 9.3; 74% female) and 20 individuals self‐identifying as the partner of someone with OCD (Mage = 32.1; SD = 12.4; 65% female) participated in this study via an online questionnaire.Associations were found between partner accommodation of OCD and a range of obsessions and compulsions across the patient and partner samples, as well as patient‐reported symptom severity, functional impairment and negative emotion states. Neuroticism was also positively associated with partner accommodation in the patient sample but did not contribute to its prediction over and above other known correlates of family accommodation. In the partner sample, extraversion was found to be a unique negative correlate of partner accommodation.These findings highlight the vital role both patient and partner factors play in the accommodation of OCD behaviours by romantic partners and the importance of involving loved ones in the treatment of individuals with OCD. Our team co‐created Parenting Pain Away, a website to equip parents with evidence to assist with managing the pain of procedures and empower them to be involved.A quasi‐experimental evaluation using a pre/post intervention design with low‐risk expectant parents.Of the 41 participants, before intervention exposure participants were familiar or had used skin‐to‐skin care (n = 33), breastfeeding (n = 30) and sucrose (n = 13) as pain management. Most participants (n = 38) desired more information on how to be involved. Providing access to Parenting Pain Away during pregnancy was supported and participants ranked the website above average using the System Usability Scale. Parenting Pain Away did not have a statistically significant influence on outcomes. The Clinician‐Administered PTSD Scale for DSM‐5 (CAPS‐5) is a widely used, well‐validated structured interview for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It was recently revised to improve various aspects of administration and scoring. We conducted a psychometric evaluation of the revised version, known as the CAPS‐5‐R. Participants were 73 community residents with mixed trauma exposure (e.g., sexual assault, physical assault, transportation accident, the unnatural death of a loved one). CAPS‐5‐R PTSD diagnosis demonstrated good test–retest reliability, кs = .73–.79; excellent interrater reliability, кs = .86–.93; and good‐to‐excellent alternate forms reliability with the CAPS‐5, кs = .79–.93. In addition, the CAPS‐5‐R total PTSD severity score demonstrated excellent test–retest reliability, intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) = .86; interrater reliability, ICC = .98; and alternate forms reliability with the CAPS‐5, r = .95. Further, the CAPS‐5‐R demonstrated good convergent validity with other measures of PTSD and good discriminant validity with measures of other constructs (e.g., depression, anxiety, alcohol problems, somatic concerns, mania). Given its strong psychometric performance in this study, as well as its improvements in administration and scoring, the CAPS‐5‐R appears to be a valuable update of the current CAPS‐5. The measured carbon isotopic compositions of carbonate sediments (δ13Ccarb) on modern platforms are commonly 13C‐enriched compared to predicted values for minerals forming in isotopic equilibrium with the dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) of modern seawater. This offset undermines the assumption that δ13Ccarb values of analogous facies in the rock record are an accurate archive of information about Earth's global carbon cycle. We present a new data set of the diurnal variation in carbonate chemistry and seawater δ13CDIC values on a modern carbonate platform. These data demonstrate that δ13Ccarb values on modern platforms are broadly representative of seawater, but only after accounting for the recent decrease in the δ13C value of atmospheric CO2 and shallow seawater DIC due to anthropogenic carbon release, a phenomenon commonly referred to as the 13C Suess effect. These findings highlight an important, yet overlooked, aspect of some modern carbonate systems, which must inform their use as ancient analogs. Plain Language Summary: Carbon isotope values of carbonate minerals (δ13Ccarb) are an important archive of information about Earth's carbon cycle in the geological past. To interpret this archive, we must understand how to identify carbonate rocks in which preserved δ13Ccarb values are representative of global trends. This effort has long been challenged by a puzzling observation in modern shallow water carbonate‐producing environments like the Bahamas: δ13Ccarb values of some sediments in these settings are higher than we predict they should be relative to δ13C values of seawater. These unexpectedly high δ13Ccarb values potentially suggest that δ13Ccarb values in carbonate rocks deposited in similar environments reflect local, rather than global processes, questioning the application of this important and long‐used tool. We measured hourly changes in seawater chemistry on a shallow marine carbonate platform and observed evidence of two key effects: (a) daily variation in δ13C values driven by photosynthesis, and (b) the recent change in the δ13C value of atmospheric CO2 and shallow seawater due to anthropogenic carbon release (the 13C Suess effect). Our data show that δ13Ccarb values of shallow marine carbonates are broadly representative of seawater, but only if we account for the 13C Suess effect. This study assesses the use of population pharmacokinetics (PopPK) in supporting pediatric dosing of novel biological drug products. The labeling for biologic drug products approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from 2002 until 2021 was reviewed to identify those with a pediatric indication. For the drugs with a pediatric indication, the dosing regimen(s) based on age groups, dosing strategy, the use of PopPK to support the dose, and the types of pediatric clinical trials were reviewed. Data were collected from FDA's review documents and product labels on the Drugs@FDA website, and as needed, more clinical trial details were collected from PubMed and clinicaltrials.gov. The role of PopPK analyses in dosing was captured when mentioned in the label or review as playing a role in selecting the approved pediatric dose and/or in verifying the adequacy of the studied dose to support labeling. Between 2002 and 2021, FDA approved 169 biological products, and 78 of 169 (46%) products have an approved indication for which the label contains dosing recommendations for pediatric use. For the 78 products approved in pediatrics, there was a total of 180 clinical trials that included pediatric patients. Phase 3 pediatric trials commonly supported pediatric approval and dosing for the reviewed products (64%, 50/78 products; 56.1%, 101/180 trials). PopPK analyses were reported to play a critical role in dose selection, prediction, and verification for 40 of the 78 products (51%), including informing pediatric dosing in the absence of pediatric data (e.g., drugs approved under animal rule), comparing exposures to the exposure range observed in adults, and informing alternative dosing strategies in certain age or body weight groups. PopPK analyses have been applied in a variety of ways to inform pediatric dosing and support extrapolation from adult data or other pediatric age groups for biologics. Understanding and learning from these past cases on the use of pharmacometrics tools to support pediatric dosing of biological products can inform future pediatric development programs. For the past decade, illicitly manufactured fentanyl has been a primary contributor in drug overdose deaths regardless of age. The pediatric population is particularly vulnerable to fentanyl exposure, yet there are limited case reports involving this population. Postmortem cases from 2019 to 2023 were retrospectively analyzed to determine the prevalence of fentanyl in decedents between 0 and 12 years of age. Over this time frame, the fentanyl positivity rate increased from 2.6 to 6.2% (n = 632). The most commonly reported age group was 0–4 years, with a peak around 1 year of age for toddlers. Fentanyl concentrations in blood (n = 573) ranged from 0.19 to 360 ng/mL (mean 18 ng/mL, median 6.9 ng/mL). Polydrug use was present in 428 cases; midazolam (n = 96) and methamphetamine (n = 66) were the most common drugs found concurrently in blood with fentanyl, followed by markers of illicitly manufactured fentanyl, such as xylazine (n = 23), para‐fluorofentanyl (n = 18), and acetyl fentanyl (n = 17). This report contrasts the differences in postmortem pediatric fentanyl toxicology results for three groups of case histories: likely medical intervention (n = 113), pregnancy/birth related (n = 136), and inadvertent/intentional exposure (n = 196). Overall, this study provides a retrospective review of postmortem pediatric fentanyl concentrations in a variety of biological matrices and highlights the need for comprehensive toxicology testing in postmortem pediatric casework. In this study, zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO‐NPs) are synthesized and combined with chitosan (Cs) to create Cs/ZnO‐NPs nanomicelles, aiming to investigate their potential as a novel cancer treatment. The ZnO‐NPs are produced through a sintering process at temperatures ranging from 300 to 700 °C. The most effective nanoparticles are obtained at 600 °C, as determined by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analyses, which confirmed their crystallinity and purity. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) are employed to characterize the size and shape of the nanoparticles, revealing predominantly spherical and hexagonal structures with stable dimensions. The cytotoxic effects of the Cs/ZnO‐NPs are evaluated against various cancer cell types. The results show that at a concentration of 125 µg mL−1, the Cs/ZnO‐NPs demonstrate significantly higher cancer cell toxicity compared to ZnO‐NPs alone, while remaining non‐toxic to normal cells. This indicates that Cs/ZnO‐NPs have a superior ability to selectively target cancer cells. These findings suggest that Cs/ZnO‐NPs nanomicelles hold promise as an effective and safe nanotherapeutic approach in the realm of cancer treatment, meriting further exploration for clinical applications. This study aims to evaluate the functional and prognostic outcomes associated with the internal mammary artery perforator (IMAP) flap in various head and neck defect repairs, given the current lack of clarity on its effectiveness. We performed a systematic review of various databases: PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect using keywords such as "Internal mammary artery perforator flap" and "IMAP." Screening and data extractions were performed by two individual reviewers. Articles were considered eligible if they included sufficient information on IMAP flap features, their applications in the head and neck, and outcomes. From 264 articles analyzed, 24 studies were included for qualitative analysis. Out of which, 125 patients who received internal mammary artery perforator flaps were included. Most of the patients, 103 (88%), received pedicled IMAP flaps, and 22 (12%) received IMAP free flaps. The second internal mammary artery (IMA) was favored as the single perforator (81.5%), with the combination of the first and second IMA being the primary choice for dual perforators (92.5%). IMAP flaps were predominantly single perforator flaps (65%), with 35% being dual perforator flaps. Among various applications, IMAP flaps are commonly employed in the reconstruction of neck defects (25.5%), pharyngocutaneous fistula repair (20.8%), and burn scar contracture restoration (8%). Only seven (5.6%) patients had flap complications, including venous congestion (1.6%), partial necrosis (1.6%), complete necrosis (1.6%), and incision dehiscence (0.8%). Donor sites were predominantly closed by the primary closure (92%). 3.2% of donor sites had minor complications. The average follow‐up was 12.6 (IQR: 6–18) months. Purpose: To estimate incidence rates of suicidal ideation and behavior following treatment initiation with gabapentinoids or dopamine agonists (DAs) in patients with newly diagnosed early‐onset idiopathic restless legs syndrome (RLS) and to examine suicidal behavior risk, comparing between those receiving gabapentinoids and DAs. Methods: A new user retrospective cohort study using MarketScan claims data from 2012 to 2019 was conducted. Exposures were monotherapy gabapentinoids or DAs initiated within 60 days of new RLS diagnosis. Three varying outcome measures of suicidality were examined and incidence rates were calculated for each. A log‐binomial regression model the estimated relative risk (RR) of the outcomes with gabapentinoids. Propensity score weighting adjusted for baseline covariates, including age, substance use disorders, hyperlipidemia, antipsychotic use, hypnotic/sedative use, and mood stabilizer use, which were most imbalanced before weighting. Results: The cohort included 6672 patients, with 4986 (74.7%) initiating a DA and 1686 (25.3%) initiating a gabapentinoid. Incidence rates for all outcome measures were higher in the gabapentinoid group (suicidality: 21.6 vs. 10.7 per 1000 person‐years; suicidality with self‐harm: 23.0 vs. 11.1 per 1000 person‐years; overdose‐ and suicide‐related events: 30.0 vs. 15.5 person‐years). Associated risk of suicidality (adjusted RR, 1.27 [95% CI, 0.86–1.88]); suicidality with self‐harm (adjusted RR, 1.30 [95% CI, 0.89–1.90]); or overdose‐ and suicide‐related events (adjusted RR, 1.30 [95% CI, 0.93–1.80]) was not significant with gabapentinoids. Conclusions: Incidence rates for suicidal ideation and behavior were higher among the gabapentinoid group, although increased risk was not detected after adjustment. Osteoclasts are the cells primarily responsible for inflammation‐induced bone loss, as is particularly seen in rheumatoid arthritis. Increasing evidence suggests that osteoclasts formed under homeostatic versus inflammatory conditions may differ in phenotype. While microRNA‐29‐3p family members (miR‐29a‐3p, miR‐29b‐3p, miR‐29c‐3p) promote the function of RANKL‐induced osteoclasts, the role of miR‐29‐3p during inflammatory TNF‐α‐induced osteoclastogenesis is unknown. We used bulk RNA‐seq, histology, qRT‐PCR, reporter assays, and western blot analysis to examine bone marrow monocytic cell cultures and tissue from male mice in which the function of miR‐29‐3p family members was decreased by expression of a miR‐29‐3p tough decoy (TuD) competitive inhibitor in the myeloid lineage (LysM‐cre). We found that RANKL‐treated monocytic cells expressing the miR‐29‐3p TuD developed a hypercytokinemia/proinflammatory gene expression profile in vitro, which is associated with macrophages. These data support the concept that miR‐29‐3p suppresses macrophage lineage commitment and may have anti‐inflammatory effects. In correlation, when miR‐29‐3p activity was decreased, TNF‐α‐induced osteoclast formation was accentuated in an in vivo model of localized osteolysis and in a cell‐autonomous manner in vitro. Further, miR‐29‐3p targets mouse TNF receptor 1 (TNFR1/Tnfrsf1a), an evolutionarily conserved regulatory mechanism, which likely contributes to the increased TNF‐α signaling sensitivity observed in the miR‐29‐3p decoy cells. Whereas our previous studies demonstrated that the miR‐29‐3p family promotes RANKL‐induced bone resorption, the present work shows that miR‐29‐3p dampens TNF‐α‐induced osteoclastogenesis, indicating that miR‐29‐3p has pleiotropic effects in bone homeostasis and inflammatory osteolysis. Our data supports the concept that the knockdown of miR‐29‐3p activity could prime myeloid cells to respond to an inflammatory challenge and potentially shift lineage commitment toward macrophage, making the miR‐29‐3p family a potential therapeutic target for modulating inflammatory response. Summary Food allergies occur due to a lack of tolerance to the proteins found in foods. While IgE‐ and non‐IgE‐mediated food allergies have different clinical manifestations, epidemiology, pathophysiology, and management, they share dysregulated T cell responses. Recent studies have shed light on the contributions of different T cell subsets to the development and persistence of different food allergic diseases. Population demographic changes, alongside landscape, geographic and climate heterogeneity, can influence the timing, stability and extent of introgression where species hybridise. Thus, quantifying interactions across diverged lineages, and the relative contributions of interspecific genetic exchange and selection to divergence at the genome‐wide level is needed to better understand the drivers of hybrid zone formation and maintenance. We used seven latitudinally arrayed transects to quantify the contributions of climate, geography and landscape features to broad patterns of genetic structure across the hybrid zone of Populus trichocarpa and P. balsamifera and evaluated the demographic context of hybridisation over time. We found genetic structure differed among the seven transects. While ancestry was structured by climate, landscape features influenced gene flow dynamics. Demographic models indicated a secondary contact event may have influenced contemporary hybrid zone formation with the origin of a putative hybrid lineage that inhabits regions with higher aridity than either of the ancestral groups. Phylogenetic relationships based on chloroplast genomes support the origin of this hybrid lineage inferred from demographic models based on the nuclear data. Our results point towards the importance of climate and landscape patterns in structuring the contact zones between P. trichocarpa and P. balsamifera and emphasise the value whole genome sequencing can have to advancing our understanding of how neutral processes influence divergence across space and time. Despite the efficacy of behavioral interventions, resurgence of challenging behavior (e.g., aggression, self‐injury) following successful treatment can still occur. Applied work has focused on identifying treatment‐related variables thought to affect the occurrence and magnitude of resurgence. The current study describes the relation between several variables (i.e., phase duration, response rates in baseline and treatment, obtained rates of reinforcement, downshift in reinforcement step size) and resurgence in a retrospective consecutive controlled case series of 46 treatment applications for challenging behavior conducted in an inpatient setting. Only the downshift in reinforcement (e.g., schedule‐thinning) step size was correlated with the magnitude of resurgence. These results are consistent with recent findings suggesting that treatment duration and other factors have inconsistent effects on resurgence of challenging behavior. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Complete reporting of seroepidemiologic studies is critical to their utility in evidence synthesis and public health decision making. The Reporting of Seroepidemiologic studies—SARS‐CoV‐2 (ROSES‐S) guideline is a checklist that aims to improve reporting in SARS‐CoV‐2 seroepidemiologic studies. Adherence to the ROSES‐S guideline has not yet been evaluated. Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the completeness of SARS‐CoV‐2 seroepidemiologic study reporting by the ROSES‐S guideline during the COVID‐19 pandemic, determine whether guideline publication was associated with reporting completeness, and identify study characteristics associated with reporting completeness. Methods: A random sample from the SeroTracker living systematic review database was evaluated. For each reporting item in the guideline, the percentage of studies that were adherent was calculated, as well as median and interquartile range (IQR) adherence across all items and by item domain. Beta regression analyses were used to evaluate predictors of adherence to ROSES‐S. Results: One hundred and ninety‐nine studies were analyzed. Median adherence was 48.1% (IQR 40.0%–55.2%) per study, with overall adherence ranging from 8.8% to 72.7%. The laboratory methods domain had the lowest median adherence (33.3% [IQR 25.0%–41.7%]). The discussion domain had the highest median adherence (75.0% [IQR 50.0%–100.0%]). Reporting adherence to ROSES‐S before and after guideline publication did not significantly change. Publication source (p < 0.001), study risk of bias (p = 0.001), and sampling method (p = 0.004) were significantly associated with adherence. Conclusions: Completeness of reporting in SARS‐CoV‐2 seroepidemiologic studies was suboptimal. Publication of the ROSES‐S guideline was not associated with changes in reporting practices. In recent years, low‐frequency oscillations (LFOs) (0.01–0.1 Hz) have been a subject of interest in resting‐state functional magnetic resonance imaging research. They are believed to have many possible driving mechanisms, from both regional and global sources. Internal fluctuations in the partial pressure of CO2 (PCO2) has long been thought of as one of these major driving forces, but its exact contributions compared with other mechanisms have yet to be fully understood. This study examined the effects of end‐tidal PCO2 (PetCO2) oscillations on LF cerebral hemodynamics and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) dynamics under "clamped PetCO2" and "free‐breathing" conditions. Under clamped PetCO2, a participant's PetCO2 levels were fixed to their baseline average, whereas PetCO2 was not controlled in free breathing. Under clamped PetCO2, the fractional amplitude of hemodynamic LFOs in the occipital and sensorimotor cortex and temporal lobes were found to be significantly reduced. Additionally, the fractional amplitude of CSF LFOs, measured at the fourth ventricle, was found to be reduced by almost one‐half. However, the spatiotemporal distributions of blood and CSF delay times, as measured by cross‐correlation in the LF domain, were not significantly altered between conditions. This study demonstrates that, while PCO2 oscillations significantly mediate LFOs, especially those observed in the CSF, other mechanisms are able to maintain LFOs, with high correlation, even in their absence. Pressure injuries are a significant comorbidity and lead to increased overall healthcare costs. Several European and global studies have assessed the burden of pressure injuries; however, no comprehensive analysis has been completed in the United States. In this study, we investigated the trends in the burden of pressure injuries among hospitalised adults in the United States from 2009 to 2019, stratified by sociodemographic subgroups. The length of admission, total cost of hospitalisation, and sociodemographic data was extracted from the National Inpatient Sample provided by the Healthcare Cost and Utilisation Project, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Overall, the annual prevalence of pressure injuries and annual mean hospitalisation cost increased ($69,499.29 to $102,939.14), while annual mean length of stay decreased (11.14–9.90 days). Among all races, minority groups had higher average cost and length of hospitalisation. Our findings suggest that while the length of hospitalisation is decreasing, hospital costs and prevalence are rising. In addition, differing trends among racial groups exist with decreasing prevalence in White patients. Further studies and targeted interventions are needed to address these differences, as well as discrepancies in racial groups. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Landscape productivity and resource dispersion are key drivers of the movement patterns of many species. In less productive environments, home ranges are generally larger as individuals travel further to access resources. The greater bilby (Macrotis lagotis) has been reintroduced to several feral predator exclosures to reduce their extinction risk. Understanding how landscape productivity and resource dispersion influence bilby space use is critical to enable effective management of populations in exclosures. At two exclosures, we tested three hypotheses: 1. Bilbies would preferentially utilize habitats with sandy substrates (<20% clay content), as they are suitable for digging burrows and foraging pits; 2. Home ranges would be larger at the arid site compared to the semi‐arid site due to lower productivity and patchier distribution of preferred habitats; and 3. Bilbies would travel further each night at the arid site to access preferred habitats. Rainfall was used as an indicator of productivity, and dispersion of preferred habitats as an indicator of resource dispersion. The study was undertaken during average rainfall conditions and under similar bilby population densities at both sites. GPS loggers recorded home ranges and movements of 10 bilbies at the arid site, and 11 bilbies at the semi‐arid site. Seventeen of the 21 bilbies preferentially utilized habitats with sandy substrates, which were less abundant at the arid site. There were no significant differences in home range size or nightly movements between the sites for either sex. We suggest the average rainfall conditions at both sites, and the dietary flexibility of bilbies, supported the maintenance of relatively small and stable home ranges (particularly for females). The effects of landscape productivity and resource dispersion on bilby space use are more likely to be evident during extended periods of below average rainfall. Patients diagnosed with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) present with a spectrum of debilitating anxiety symptoms resulting from exposure to trauma. Women are twice as likely to be diagnosed with anxiety and PTSD compared to men; however, the reason for this vulnerability remains unknown. We conducted four experiments where we first demonstrated a female vulnerability to stress‐enhanced fear learning (SEFL) with a moderate, acute early life stress (aELS) exposure (4 footshocks in a single session), compared to a more intense aELS exposure (15 footshocks in a single session) where males and females demonstrated comparable SEFL. Next, we demonstrated that this female vulnerability does not result from differences in footshock reactivity or contextual fear conditioning during the aELS exposure. Finally, using gonadectomy or sham surgeries in adult male and female rats, we showed that circulating levels of gonadal steroid hormones at the time of adult fear conditioning do not explain the female vulnerability to SEFL. Additional research is needed to determine whether this vulnerability can be explained by organizational effects of gonadal steroid hormones or differences in sex chromosome gene expression. This article discusses the recommendation to rename the species Ziphius cavirostris, commonly known as Cuvier's beaked whale, to the goose-beaked whale. The authors argue that the current name perpetuates harm due to Georges Cuvier's involvement in scientific racism and misogyny. They highlight Cuvier's role in creating and disseminating scientific racism, as well as his exploitation of Saartjie Baartman, a Khoisan woman. The authors call for the marine mammal science community to discontinue the use of Cuvier's name and to reconsider all eponymous names of marine mammal species, in order to create a more inclusive and respectful field. Because the COVID‐19 pandemic has been implicated in increased mental health concerns for families of low income, we aimed to describe maternal perspectives about the pandemic's impact on their kindergartener's mental health during the 2020–2021 school year. We conducted 22 in‐depth, semi‐structured interviews with U.S. mothers with low income who had kindergarten‐age children (50% male and 50% female). All participants were female, ranging in age from 24 to 44 years, and reported the following ethnic/racial identities: non‐Hispanic Black or African American (41%), Hispanic of any race (36%) and non‐Hispanic, White (23%). With a team comprising multiple researchers from varied disciplines (e.g., medicine, education and public health) our analytic process used an iterative approach for developing and revising codes and themes until we reached thematic saturation. Most mothers described negative impacts on social, behavioural and emotional aspects of mental health. Some described positive social impacts, including strengthened family relationships. Mothers described no positive changes to behavioural or emotional aspects of mental health. Maternal perspectives suggest the importance of prioritising access to screening and treating mental health needs to support children's kindergarten transition, mitigate pandemic impacts and plan for future disruptions. Background and Purpose: Demand for new antidepressants has resulted in a re‐evaluation of the therapeutic potential of psychedelic drugs. Several tryptamines found in psilocybin‐containing "magic" mushrooms share chemical similarities with psilocybin. Early work suggests they may share biological targets. However, few studies have explored their pharmacological and behavioural effects. Experimental Approach: We compared baeocystin, norbaeocystin and aeruginascin with psilocybin to determine if they are metabolized by the same enzymes, similarly penetrate the blood–brain barrier, serve as ligands for similar receptors and modulate behaviour in rodents similarly. We also assessed the stability and optimal storage and handling conditions for each compound. Key Results: In vitro enzyme kinetics assays found that all compounds had nearly identical rates of dephosphorylation via alkaline phosphatase and metabolism by monoamine oxidase. Further, we found that only the dephosphorylated products of baeocystin and norbaeocystin crossed a blood–brain barrier mimetic to a similar degree as the dephosphorylated form of psilocybin, psilocin. The dephosphorylated form of norbaeocystin was found to activate the 5‐HT2A receptor with similar efficacy to psilocin and norpsilocin in in vitro cell imaging assays. Behaviourally, only psilocybin induced head twitch responses in rats, a marker of 5‐HT2A‐mediated psychedelic effects and hallucinogenic potential. However, like psilocybin, norbaeocystin improved outcomes in the forced swim test. All compounds caused minimal changes to metrics of renal and hepatic health, suggesting innocuous safety profiles. Conclusions and Implications: Collectively, this work suggests that other naturally occurring tryptamines, especially norbaeocystin, may share overlapping therapeutic potential with psilocybin, but without causing hallucinations. Consumer engagement and partnership are increasingly recognised as a significant component of healthcare planning, provision, quality improvement and research. This article provides an overview of consumer engagement embedded in two different projects: a quality improvement project and a research project. The considerations and steps taken to effectively engage and partner with consumers throughout both projects will be discussed such as the prompt for consumer engagement, how the consumer/s were recruited and their specific contributions. The commonly reported advantages and challenges as well as reflections on what we might do differently with the benefit of hindsight are presented, including time required by both consumers and health professionals; funding and remuneration; and reporting findings to the wider community. In demonstrating consumer engagement and our learnings, we aim to encourage further consumer engagement activities amongst medical radiation professionals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study assesses how, among behavioral health clinicians working in rural safety net practices, the amount of exposure to care in rural underserved communities received during training relates to confidence in skills important in their work settings, successes in jobs and communities, and anticipated retention. Methods: This study uses survey data from Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, and Psychologists working in rural safety net practices in 21 states while receiving educational loan repayment support from the National Health Service Corps, from 2015 to April 2022. Findings: Of the 778 survey respondents working in rural counties, 486 (62.5%) reported they had formal education experiences with medically underserved populations during their professional training, for a median of 47 weeks. In analyses adjusting for potential confounders, the estimated amount of rural training exposure was positively associated with a variety of indicators of clinicians' integration and fit with their communities as well as with longer anticipated retention within their rural safety net practices. The amount of training in care for rural underserved populations was not associated with clinicians' confidence levels in various professional skills or successes in their work, including connection with patients and work satisfaction. Conclusions: Formal training in care for underserved populations is a large part of the education of behavioral health clinicians who later work in rural safety net practices. More training in rural underserved care for these clinicians is associated with greater integration and fit in their communities and longer anticipated retention in their practices, but not with skills confidence or practice outcomes. This study investigates the participant experiences and perceived impacts of the Language Initiative for Language Learning (LILL). By exploring the voices of 11 LILL participants through a qualitative case study design, the findings highlight how world language teacher leaders participated in and experienced LILL as a space for leadership growth and perceived the program as having a transformational impact on their leadership identity, mindset, and skill development. While the findings situate LILL as an effective and impactful program, we discuss the need for deeper understandings of world language (WL) teacher leadership in discipline‐specific ways and conclude with suggestions for proactive approaches for WL teacher leadership programming. Introduction: Quantitative measurement and analysis of glottic abduction is used to assess laryngeal function and success of interventions; however, the consistency of measurement over time has not been established. This study assesses the consistency of glottic abduction measurements across visits in healthy patients and anatomic factors impacting these measurements. Methods: Review of patients with two sequential flexible stroboscopic exams over seven months from 2019–2022. Images of maximal glottic abduction were captured and uploaded into and measured with ImageJ. Cadaver heads were used to assess the impact of visualization angles on glottic measurements with a monofilament inserted into the supraglottis of each cadaver as a point of reference. Comparisons were done with a paired T‐test, T‐test, or Mann–Whitney U test as appropriate. Results: Fifty‐nine patients and twenty‐six cadaveric exams were included. Absolute change in maximum glottic abduction angle (MGAA) was 6.90° (95% CI [5.36°, 8.42°]; p < 0.05). There were no significant differences in change in MGAA by gender or age. Twenty percent of patients had a change of at least 25% in their MGAA between visits. Absolute differences in glottic angle between nasal side for cadaveric measurements was 4.77 ± 4.59° (p < 0.005)—2.22° less than the change in MGAA seen over time (p = 0.185). Conclusion: Maximal glottic abduction angles varied significantly between visits. Factors considered to be contributing to the differences include different viewing windows between examinations due to the position and angulation of the laryngoscope and changes in patient positioning, intra‐ and inter‐rater variations in measurement, and patient effort. Aims: This cross‐sectional observational study quantified Australian Football League Women's athletes' match volume, and compared match‐day dietary intakes against recommendations. Methods: Self‐report, direct observation, and fluid measurements determined dietary intake (n = 17, 25 ± 4.5 years, 22.8 ± 1.8 kg/m2) on five home match days (early or late starting). Global positioning system software captured match volume. Linear mixed effects models evaluated differences in early versus late match volume and nutrient intakes. Data are presented as mean ± standard deviation. Results: Athletes covered 6712 ± 622 m during matches, with similar numbers of very high‐intensity running efforts over equal distances in early and late matches (early vs. late efforts [no.]: 8.5 ± 4.9 vs. 9.5 ± 5.5; distance [m]: 203 ± 127 vs. 212 ± 113). Across all match days, 71% (n = 12) of athletes met their predicted daily energy requirements. However, 82% (n = 14) failed to meet minimum daily carbohydrate recommendations; intake was lower on early compared with late match days (4.7 g/day vs. 5.4 g/kg/day, p = 0.027). On average, no athletes met carbohydrate recommendations in the 2 h prior to a match and only 24% (n = 4) met recommendations during matches. All athletes met post‐match carbohydrate and protein requirements. Conclusion: Athletes cover large distances during games with frequent bursts of high‐intensity running. However, they do not adjust their intake to meet the energy demands of competition, with inadequate fuelling prior to and during matches. Kryptolebias marmoratus (Kmar), a teleost fish of the order Cyprinodontiformes, has a suite of unique phenotypes and behaviors not observed in other fishes. Many of these phenotypes are discrete and highly plastic—varying over time within an individual, and in some cases reversible. Kmar and its interfertile sister species, K. hermaphroditus, are the only known self‐fertile vertebrates. This unusual sexual mode has the potential to provide unique insights into the regulation of vertebrate sexual development, and also lends itself to genetics. Kmar is easily adapted to the lab and requires little maintenance. However, its internal fertilization and small clutch size limits its experimental use. To support Kmar as a genetic model, we compared alternative husbandry techniques to maximize recovery of early cleavage‐stage embryos. We find that frequent egg collection enhances yield, and that protease treatment promotes the greatest hatching success. We completed a forward mutagenesis screen and recovered several mutant lines that serve as important tools for genetics in this model. Several will serve as useful viable recessive markers for marking crosses. Importantly, the mutant kissylips lays embryos at twice the rate of wild‐type. Combining frequent egg collection with the kissylips mutant background allows for a substantial enhancement of early embryo yield. These improvements were sufficient to allow experimental analysis of early development and the successful mono‐ and bi‐allelic targeted knockout of an endogenous tyrosinase gene with CRISPR/Cas9 nucleases. Collectively, these tools will facilitate modern developmental genetics in this fascinating fish, leading to future insights into the regulation of plasticity. INTRODUCTION: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease in which extracellular aggregates of the amyloid beta (Aβ) peptide precede widespread intracellular inclusions of the microtubule‐associated protein tau. The autosomal dominant form of AD requires mutations that increase production or aggregation of the Aβ peptide. This has led to the hypothesis that amyloid deposition initiates downstream responses that lead to the hyperphosphorylation and aggregation of tau. METHODS: Here we use a novel approach, somatic gene transfer via intravenous adeno‐associated virus (AAV), to further explore the effects of pre‐existing amyloid deposits on tauopathy. APP+PS1 mice, which develop amyloid deposits at 3 to 6 months of age, and non‐transgenic littermates were injected at 8 months of age intravenously with AAV‐PHP.eB encoding P301L human tau. Tissue was collected at 13 months and tauopathy was assessed. RESULTS: Total human tau expression was observed to be relatively uniform throughout the brain, reflecting the vascular route of AAV administration. Phospho‐tau deposition was not equal across brain regions and significantly increased in APP+PS1 mice compared to non‐transgenic controls. Interestingly, the rank order of phospho‐tau deposition of affected brain regions in both genotypes paralleled the rank order of amyloid plaque deposits in APP+PS1 mice. We also observed significantly increased MAPT RNA expression in APP+PS1 mice compared to non‐transgenic despite equal AAV transduction efficiency between groups. DISCUSSION: This model has advantages over prior approaches with widespread uniform human tau expression throughout the brain and the ability to specify the stage of amyloidosis when the tau pathology is initiated. Background and aims: iCanQuit is a smartphone application (app) proven efficacious for smoking cessation in a Phase III randomized controlled trial (RCT). This study aimed to measure whether medications approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for smoking cessation would further enhance the efficacy of iCanQuit, relative to its parent trial comparator—the National Cancer Institute's (NCI's) QuitGuide app. Design: Secondary analysis of the entire parent trial sample of a two‐group (iCanQuit and QuitGuide), stratified, doubled‐blind RCT. Setting: United States. Participants: Participants who reported using an FDA‐approved cessation medication on their own (n = 619) and those who reported no use of cessation medications (n = 1469). Interventions: Participants were randomized to receive iCanQuit app or NCI's QuitGuide app. Measurements Use of FDA‐approved medications was measured at 3 months post‐randomization. Smoking cessation outcomes were measured at 3, 6 and 12 months. The primary outcome was 12‐month self‐reported 30‐day point prevalence abstinence (PPA). Findings The data retention rate at the 12‐month follow‐up was 94.0%. Participants were aged 38.5 years, 71.0% female, 36.6% minority race/ethnicity, 40.6% high school or less education, residing in all 50 US States and smoking 19.2 cigarettes/day. The 29.6% of all participants who used medications were more likely to choose nicotine replacement therapy (NRT; 78.8%) than other cessation medications (i.e. varenicline or bupropion; 18.3 and 10.5%, respectively) and use did not differ by app treatment assignment (all P > 0.05). There was a significant (P = 0.049) interaction between medication use and app treatment assignment on PPA. Specifically, 12‐month quit rates were 34% for iCanQuit versus 20% for QuitGuide [odds ratio (OR) = 2.36, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.59, 3.49] among participants reporting any medication use, whereas among participants reporting no medication use, quit rates were 28% for iCanQuit versus 22% for QuitGuide (OR = 1.41, 95% CI = 1.09, 1.82). Results were stronger for those using only NRT: 40% quit rates for iCanQuit versus 18% quit rates for QuitGuide (OR = 3.57, 95% CI = 2.20, 5.79). Conclusions: The iCanQuit smartphone app for smoking cessation was more efficacious than the QuitGuide smartphone app, regardless of whether participants used medications to aid cessation. Smoking cessation medications, especially nicotine replacement therapy, might enhance the efficacy of the iCanQuit app. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Anemophilous (wind‐driven) pollen is one type of primary biological aerosol particle, which can rupture under high humidity conditions and form smaller sub‐pollen particles (SPPs). Both pollen and SPPs can reach the upper troposphere under convective conditions, acting as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) and ice nucleating particles (INPs), thus influencing cloud formation and precipitation. However, the impacts of these biological aerosols on cold cloud formation and local climate remain unclear as there are large uncertainties on their emission flux and ice nucleating abilities. Here, we incorporate pollen emission and rupture processes in the Weather Research and Forecasting Model with Chemistry (WRF‐Chem) simulations and update the Morrison microphysics scheme within WRF‐Chem using aerosol‐aware INP parameterizations to account for pollen in addition to other anthropogenic and biogenic aerosol. INP parameterizations for pollen and SPP are derived from laboratory experiments. When including pollen rupture rates as observed in a series of chamber studies, SPP concentrations increase, leading to an increase of cloud ice and water by up to 50% and potentially extending the duration of the convective system. Among all simulated hydrometeors, graupel and raindrops exhibit the largest enhancements from the inclusion of SPPs, with intensifying precipitation at the backside of the convective system and a greater spatial extent. Sensitivity simulations indicate that SPPs have a greater effect on cloud microphysical processes than whole pollen grains, and further observational evidence is needed to constrain these processes. Plain Language Summary: Pollen grains are emitted by vegetation and carry the reproductive material of plants. Under certain conditions (e.g., high humidity, lightning), pollen grains can rupture to form smaller sub‐pollen particles (SPPs). Both intact pollen grain and SPPs have been observed to influence the formation of cloud liquid droplets and ice crystals, potentially impacting cloud properties and precipitation. In this study, we include pollen emission and pollen‐cloud interactions into a meteorology‐chemistry model and investigate the effects of pollen grains and SPPs on a strong thunderstorm event associated with a mesoscale convective system. We find that SPPs have a greater impact than whole pollen grains on the convective system properties by increasing cloud ice and water content, facilitating the transition of cloud droplets and ice into graupel, and ultimately intensifying precipitation. These changes alter the impact of the convective system, leading to an extension of the storm width and lengthening of its duration. Acknowledging systemic racism, a key tenet of Critical Race Theory (CRT), may be threatening to many Americans but it can also reduce racial biases. However, anti‐CRT legislation prohibits learning about racism, thus highlighting the mutually reinforcing relationship between systemic racism and the production of ignorance. We assessed White Americans' knowledge about CRT through participant‐generated definitions (Study 1, N = 199) and via a true/false questionnaire (Study 2, N = 194), and its relation to opposition to CRT. Opposition to CRT was associated with a less accurate understanding of CRT, even when controlling for political orientation. Content analyses revealed that opponents of CRT deny anti‐Black racism, believe CRT harms Whites, and view discussing race as divisive. Based on these themes, we developed a meta‐cognitive corrective intervention in Study 3 (N = 289). Participants who received corrective feedback after taking a multiple‐choice test about CRT showed a larger decrease in their opposition to CRT than those in the control condition. Depressive and anxiety symptoms are increasingly common, and problematic alcohol use remains prevalent in college. To expand on prior research on mostly white samples, we surveyed first‐year students of color from our predominately white university (Southeastern US) to identify risk factors for mental health symptoms and potentially co‐occurring problematic alcohol use. Results showed significant associations between microaggressions and poor campus climate (hypothetical predictors) with depressive, anxiety, somatic symptoms (hypothetical outcomes) that were indirectly linked through perceived stress, poor sleep, and academic burnout (hypothetical mediators). Poor campus climate, academic burnout, and using alcohol to cope were the most relevant to alcohol use disorder symptoms. Background: America's crisis of youth mental health challenges has been worsened by COVID‐19. Group‐based parent education has been proven effective in intervention and prevention; however, a lack of universal access and the busyness of parents are significant barriers to participation. Rapid growth in technology‐based education aims to increase accessibility but live, virtual parent education was understudied. E3 Parent Education (E3PE) was a free, virtual, and synchronous group programme offered in Montana by a certified parent educator to support families navigating common and uncommon challenges. Methods: Through qualitative evaluation with eight programme participants (n = 8), this study aimed to understand impacts and access of this parent education programme. Results: All participants (100%) aligned on three themes describing the virtual, synchronous parent education experience: convenience, connection, and comfort. Participants suggested strategies for improvement as well. Discussion: A free, virtual, synchronous, group‐based format provided equitable access and lowered the barriers to participation. Findings advised that the developers, facilitators, and policymakers consider adding virtual options alongside in‐person settings to reduce participant barriers and meet the needs of different families.
