Some of the newly synthesized stilbenes of type (III) are good inhibitors for enzymes acetyl- and butyrylcholine esterase (ACE and BCE) for instance, (IIIb) is a good inhibitor for ACE whereas, (IIId) is a 94-fold stronger inhibitor for BCE than for ACE. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
