Lithium is perceived as an ideal anode for next generation batteries with high‐energy density. However, the critical issue of the intractable growth of Li dendrites, which leads to a poor cycling life, still remains. Herein, a hierarchical surface is designed and constructed on carbon fiber (CF) using binders in fabricated CF paper (CFP). The lightweight CF with high mechanical properties is facilitated to establish a 3D network structure as an alternative to Cu foil. The binders are transformed into oxygen‐containing amorphous carbon and sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) using a low‐temperature carbonization process, leading to uniform Li nucleation and a stable solid electrolyte interphase layer with inorganic components. In the electrochemical test, the CFP with amorphous carbon and Na2CO3 (ANCFP) shows a low Li nucleation overpotential and smooth dendrite‐free Li plating. Furthermore, the ANCFP electrode exhibits good cycling stability in half and symmetrical cells. A full‐cell assembled using a LiFePO4 cathode with high loading (≈13 mg cm−2) achieves a high‐energy density of 428 Wh kg−1 (at 0.1 C) and an excellent capacity retention of 85% at 1 C after 300 cycles. The electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2RR) holds substantial promise for producing high‐value chemicals and fuels, drawing significant attention from both academia and industry. This work proposes an in‐situ electrodeposition method to prepare indium‐doped copper (Cu)‐based catalysts on carbon paper (Cu100Inx−CP, x=3.9, 4.5, 4.8, 5.1, and 7.6, denoting the molar ratio of In to Cu in the catalyst.). The catalysts Cu100Inx−CP were used for CO2RR to produce multi‐carbon (C2+) products. Characterization results showed that In was highly dispersed in the Cu particles at x<5.1. The Cu100In5.1−CP (containing 0.95 wt % In based on Cu) was very efficient for electrocatalytic CO2RR. The in‐situ Raman spectroscopy showed that Cu100In5.1−CP enhanced *CO intermediate adsorption and promoted the production of C2+ products due to the synergistic effect between In and Cu. The employment of ultra‐thin lithium metal anode with high loading cathode is the key to realizing high‐energy‐density rechargeable lithium batteries. Ultra‐thin lithium foils are routinely loaded on a copper substrate in batteries, however, the close contact of these two metals causes galvanic corrosion in the presence of electrolyte, which results in irreversible consumption of lithium and decomposition of electrolyte. Herein, a lightweight and highly conductive flexible graphite paper (GP) is applied to replace Cu foil as the current collector for lithium metal anode. It is demonstrated that the application of GP prevents galvanic corrosion and maintains intimate and steady contact between Li foil and GP current collector during cycling, thereby improving the electrochemical performance of the battery. A 1.08 Ah pouch cell assembled with Li@GP anode and LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode exhibits a long lifetime of 240 cycles with a capacity retention of 91.6% under limited Li, high cathode loading and lean electrolyte conditions. We report herein a facile and generalized approach to the modification of solid surfaces with polymer brushes under ambient conditions: filter paper‐assisted surface‐initiated Cu0‐mediated controlled radical polymerization (PSI‐CuCRP). The polymerization solution wetted filter paper is sandwiched between a copper plate and an initiator‐modified substrate, which allows the creation of a surface‐initiated polymerization (SIP) "band‐aid" so that everyone can perform the surface grafting selectively with good control over the quality of the polymer brushes employing low concentration and microliter amounts of the monomer solution. The versatility of this method is demonstrated by grafting different homo‐, block‐, and multicomponent polymer brushes by using the same activation system and reaction conditions, the polymerization process can be precisely controlled to yield uniform polymers and show high chain‐end functionality which is exemplified by in situ tetra‐copolymerization. Metal organic framework (MOF)‐based materials have been widely studied and reported as efficient electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), owing to their high surface areas, controllable structures, and tunable pore sizes. However, the intrinsically poor electrical conductivity of most MOFs hinders their directly applications as electrocatalysts. Herein, copper‐centered MOFs (HKUST‐1) have been electrodeposited directly onto the current collector. These electrochemically prepared HKUST‐1@carbon paper hybrids exhibited significantly enhanced electrocatalytic performances for the HER, including a positively shifted of onset potential, a lower overpotential, and a smaller Tafel slope, as compared to the conventional hydrothermally prepared HKUST‐1. The proposed electrodeposited synthesis strategy for MOF‐based electrocatalysts is fast, efficient, mild, and environmentally friendly. This work may also extend to other MOF materials and any conductive substrate, thus providing a facile strategy for the preparation of MOF‐based catalysts with high efficiency and low cost. Short-fibre paper residuals (deinking paper fibre (DPF) or paper mill sludge) represents a major waste formed during the processing of recycled paper and is known to contain significant quantities of copper. It is often spread onto agricultural land to help increase soil pH and improve structure by adding soil organic matter (SOM). A number of agricultural sites in England and Wales that had received large and repeated applications were sampled to investigate the long-term effects of this practice on soil quality and plant copper content. We found that the composition of DPF waste has changed significantly between 1999 and 2006 with concentrations of Cu increasing and organic matter content declining. Whilst repeated additions of DPF to agricultural land always increased soil Cu, an associated increase in SOM was not always apparent. There was no link between SOM and bioavailable Cu nor between soil bioavailable Cu and plant Cu. In contrast to previous reports, our findings indicate that improvement in soil quality following the long-term application of DPF was site-specific and in some cases it may have reduced soil quality rather than enhanced it. A new approach exploiting the dual properties of thiol-grafted cellulose paper for promoting copper-catalyzed [3+2]-cycloadditions of organic azides with alkynes and adsorbing residual copper species in solution was developed. The thiol-grafted cellulose paper, used as a paper strip, effects the reduction of CuII to catalytically active CuI and acts as a powerful adsorbent for copper, thereby facilitating the work-up process and leaving the crude mixture almost free of copper residues after a single filtration. A cationic porphyrin, 5,10,15,20‐tetrakis(1‐methyl‐4‐pyridinio)porphyrin tetraiodide (TMPyP) was reported herein to exert selective, turn‐off fluorescence when complexed with Cu2+ ion. Although discernible spectroscopic changes of charged porphyrins with various metal ions were previously utilized as colorimetric sensors, the application of fluorescence quenching of charged porphyrins with Cu2+ ion has never been investigated in much detail before. Coupled with the ease of synthesis, the finding led to a construction of a simple paper‐based sensor for Cu2+ with good selectivity and sensitivity, with a limit of detection at 0.16 ppm, which is below the recommended amount in drinking water. Notably, this performance could be achieved with the need of only a handheld UV lamp and a smartphone or a compact camera, both of which are now considered to be highly accessible. Copper conductor has lower electrical resistivity (approximately) 2μ͉·;cm) and higher electromigration resistance than aluminum conductor, so it is applied to TFT to solve the undercharge of pixel electrode resulted from aluminum conductor. However there are filiform residuals generated through stripping in the copper process, and more serious than aluminum process. As copper metallization process is widely adopted by Flat panel display industry, cost for waste treatment such as fluorine ions in copper wet etchant also dramatically increased. Reduction of fluorine ion in copper metallization process, will be a key environment friendly business issue in near future. In this paper, we developed new MoK copper barrrier layer for IGZO and LTPS application which can be easily wet‐patterned in copper wet etchant without etch residue. The effects of metal electrode on the electrical performance of back channel etching type amorphous In‒Ga‒Zn‒O thin film transistor have been studied. From secondary ion mass spectroscopy depth analysis, the detected molybdenum content on IGZO surface after wet patterning was greatly reduced by 10 times compared with pure molybdenum. In addition, MoK showed a better thermal resistance properties compared with pure molybdenum. After the MoK/copper/MoK tri‐layers were annealed at 400°C for 1 hour, the electrical resistance was decreased from 5.7 uohm‐cm to 3.2 uohm‐cm while pure molybdenum tri‐layer showed dramatic increase after thermal annealing. The reduced molybdenum residue after wet patterning also influenced the electrical properties of back channel etching type IGZO TFTs. The measured mobility lied between 10∼14 cm2/V.sec and contact resistance was about 0.5 Mohm which is comparable with reported values. Five‐phase permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) can operate under open‐circuit faults with the appropriate current regulations. However, the traditional current regulations based on the five‐phase half‐bridge inverter have to satisfy the constraint of zero neutral point current, which limits the fault‐tolerant performance of the machine. Thus, this paper investigates the current regulation based on the five‐phase six‐leg (FPSL) inverter, which relieves the zero‐neutral point current limitation, and both current regulations considering the maximum torque (MT) and minimum copper loss (MC) are derived under different open‐circuit conditions. The cost of the system has increased, but with the new regulations, better fault‐tolerant operation capability of the machine can be obtained under all kinds of open‐circuit faults. Moreover, with the introduction of the neutral point current, the machine can work under triple‐phase open‐circuit faults. In conclusion, the proposed control scheme based on the FPSL inverter expands the fault‐tolerant operation capability of the five‐phase PMSM. Lead ion (Pb2+) is a high‐hazardously heavy metal ion in surroundings that even ppb level can cause mental decline and behavioral difficulties especially in children. However, the recognition and detection of Pb2+ are still challenging. Here, a high selective and ultra‐sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method was established based on the substitution mechanism between Pb2+ and the metal–organic framework – Cu‐MOF‐74. Pb2+ can specifically substitute Cu active sites in Cu‐MOF‐74 and released Cu sites, strongly amplifying the CL emission of the luminol‐hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) system. A linear response for Pb2+ detection in the range of 0.5–50 nM with a detection limit of 0.3 nM was realized. Moreover, the proposed method was successfully implemented on a paper‐based analytical device with favorable fabrication and operational features for Pb2+ determination in water samples. Electrochemical conversion of nitrate (NO3−) to ammonia (NH3) is a potential way to produce green NH3 and remediate the nitrogen cycle. In this paper, an efficient catalyst of spherical CuO made by stacking small particles with oxygen‐rich vacancies is reported. The NH3 yield and Faraday efficiency are 15.53 mg h−1 mgcat−1 and 90.69%, respectively, in a neutral electrolyte at a voltage of ‐0.80 V (vs. reversible hydrogen electrode). The high activity of the electrodes results from changes in the phase and structure during electrochemical reduction. Structurally, there is a shift from a spherical structure with dense accumulation of small particles to a layered network structure with uniform distribution of small particles stacked on top of each other, thus exposing more active sites. Furthermore, in terms of phase, the electrode transitions from CuO to Cu/Cu(OH)2. Density functional theory calculations showed that Cu(OH)2 formation enhances NO3‐ adsorption. Meanwhile, the Cu(OH)2 can inhibit the competing hydrogen evolution reaction, while the formation of Cu (111) crystal surfaces facilitates the hydrogenation reaction. The synergistic effect between the two promotes the NO3‐ to NH3. Therefore, this study provides a new idea and direction for Cu‐based oxides in electrocatalytic NH3 production. Eddy‐current technique has been used in several industrial applications, such as non‐destructive testing and characterization, transmission systems, and separation processes. The main advantage of other separation techniques for eddy current separation is the absence of direct contact and do not use other liquid and water. This paper presents a novel configuration for a single‐disk vertical eddy current separator, covered by alternating permanent magnets. Unlike several other works, which employ a horizontal orientation for magnetic disks. The advantage is that it contains one driving motor, few strong permanent magnets, and a small size and simpler construction than the usual eddy‐current separators. In this work, the analysis of an eddy current separator with magnetic single disk using a numerical model based on finite element method, the obtained partial differential equation is done into the numeric solver. The experimental device was realized to separate two kinds of non‐ferrous waste: aluminium and copper. The role of ectomycorrhizas in the metal tolerance of birch seedlings from Sudbury, Ontario was investigated. Betula papyrifera Marsh. is one of the few tree species able to survive in the copper- and nickel-polluted area near Sudbury. Two types of birch seedlings were tested; those inoculated with Laccaria proxima (Boud.) Pat., Lactarius hibbardae Peck, Lactarius rufus (Scop. ex Fr.) Fries, or Scleroderma fiavidum E. & E. isolates originating from the Sudbury area, and those which were not inoculated. Once the seedlings were infected, they were grown in sand culture containing 34 or 85 μM Ni, 32 or 63 μM Cu, or a control solution. At the low nickel concentration, the mycorrhizal plants, especially those infected with S. fiavidum, grew significantly better than did non-mycorrhizal plants. At the higher nickel concentration, S. fiaviduminfected seedlings weighed 86 % of controls without nickel, while the other seedlings weighed only 52 to 61% of control. The good growth of S. fiavidum-infected birch seedlings may have been due to retention of nickel in the mycorrhizas. These seedlings had the highest root nickel contents and the lowest stem nickel contents. At the high concentration of copper, growth of the mycorrhizal seedlings was significantly reduced compared with the non-mycorrhizal seedlings. This reduction in growth of infected seedlings did not relate to an increase in the uptake or translocation of copper. Under the low copper treatment, infection with mycorrhizal fungi did not affect seedling growth. The potential role of iron and phosphorus in affecting host metal tolerance was investigated. Copper is the primary material of the national manufacturing industry, widely used to construct the national economy. As one of the critical minerals, trade security of copper resources is related to the stable development of the domestic industry. The dynamic evaluation of China's copper trade and identification of the principal risk points is helpful to promote the sustainable development of resources. In this paper, the environmental impact of trade is included in the research category, and the paper conducts a dynamic assessment of China's copper trade risks from 2001 to 2020 of multiple dimensions through the improved DEA‐like model, identifies the main risk points in different periods, and predicts future trade risks. The results show that China's copper resource trade risk has continued to rise since 2001, and its characteristics have gradually changed. The main risk points of trade have experienced the market equilibrium stage, reserve resources stage, and import dependency stage. A high degree of external dependence and environmental pollution intensification has become the key factors influencing the trade risk at the present stage. Copper resources risk will rise slowly in the future and reach a high‐risk state. Trade risks will decline slightly after 2025, but it is still in a dangerous condition. Relevant policies need to be issued to alleviate the trade risk. Combined with the evaluation results, this paper puts forward multidimensional risk management suggestions to ensure the security of copper resources, and improve the flexibility of the resource industry chain. The tetranuclear Cu2+/Ca2+/Ca2+/Cu2+ complex based on Malten ligand has been investigated as a platform for anion binding. Simple organic carboxylates and non‐steroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have been tested, revealing the ability of the platform to bind them. The receiving platform hosts at least two guests in solution although a third anion can be bound, as suggested by X‐ray diffraction analysis. The addition of the anions is accompanied by a color change of the solution, making the system a colorimetric sensor for carboxylates (LOD values comprised between 3.6 and 20.7 ppm). A fluorescent system consisting of the 2‐(3‐oxido‐6‐oxoxanthen‐9‐yl)benzoate (fluorescein anion) linked to the tetranuclear platform has been also prepared and used in a chemosensing ensemble approach to signal the presence of the selected anions (Log K between 2.6 and 5.6 for the addition of two guests). Luminescent cuprous complexes are an important class of coordination compounds due to their relative abundance, low cost and ability to display excellent luminescence. The title heteroleptic cuprous complex, [2,2′‐bis(diphenylphosphanyl)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl‐κ2P,P′](2‐phenylpyridine‐κN)copper(I) hexafluoridophosphate, rac‐[Cu(C44H32P2)(C11H9N)]PF6, conventionally abbreviated rac‐[Cu(BINAP)(2‐PhPy)]PF6 (I), where BINAP and 2‐PhPy represent 2,2′‐bis(diphenylphosphanyl)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl and 2‐phenylpyridine, respectively, is described. In this complex, the asymmetric unit consists of a hexafluoridophosphate anion and a heteroleptic cuprous complex cation, in which the cuprous centre in a CuP2N coordination triangle is coordinated by two P atoms from the BINAP ligand and by one N atom from the 2‐PhPy ligand. Time‐dependent density functional theory (TD–DFT) calculations show that the UV–Vis absorption of I should be attributed to ligand‐to‐ligand charge transfer (LLCT) characteristic excited states. Copper (Cu), with its ability to exist in various oxidation states, notably Cu(I) and Cu(II), plays a crucial role in diverse biological redox reactions. This includes its involvement in pathways associated with oxidative stress in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies. This paper offers an overview of X‐ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) studies designed to elucidate the interactions between Cu ions and proteins or peptides associated with these neurodegenerative diseases. The emphasis lies on XAS specificity, revealing the local coordination environment, and on its sensitivity to Cu oxidation states. Furthermore, the paper focuses on XAS applications targeting the characterization of intermediate reaction states and explores the opportunities arising from recent advancements in time‐resolved XAS at ultrabright synchrotron and Free Electron Laser radiation sources. This study examines the accumulation, distribution, and mobility of Potentially Toxic Elements (PTEs) in the sediments of a low‐lying coastal drainage network (Ravenna, Italy). The aim is to understand the geochemical processes occurring between drainage water and canal bed sediments and assess factors affecting and driving PTE distribution and enrichment in these environments. A geochemical database resulting from the analysis of 203 drainage sediment samples was analyzed using Principal Component Analysis and compared to undisturbed near‐surface sediment samples from the same depth and depositional environment. The results reveal PTEs exceeding national regulation limits. Distance from the sea, electrical conductivity of drainage water, and fertilizer use were identified as the main driving factors. The primary mechanisms for PTE precipitation (As, Co, Mo) and subsequent enrichment in the sediments is attributed to the absorption on Fe‐ and Mn‐oxyhydroxides (HFO and HMO), particularly in high salinity areas near the coast. While Cu, Zn, Pb, Cr, and V also have affinity for HFO and HMO, their adsorption efficiency decreases due to the competition with salt‐derived cations during ongoing salinization processes. Anthropogenic sources, including agriculture, hunting activities, traffic dust, and railways, contribute to the local abundance of other elements (Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pb, and Sn). This paper's significant progress lies in assessing the concurrent interactions of chemical and physical processes that drive PTE distribution and accumulation in reclaimed low‐lying coastal plains. The findings are significant for assessing PTE accumulation risks and sediment toxicity in coastal areas affected by water salinization, drainage, and subsidence, providing valuable information to water management institutions globally. To scavenge energy from imperceptible vibrations, this paper investigates the broadband response and output performance of a microvibrational piezoelectric energy harvesting system with mechanical stopper. The energy harvesting system comprises a cantilever beam made of piezoelectric material, which is affixed with a coil at its unbound end and a mechanical stopper. The coil is placed in a magnetic field to provide an ultra‐low level excitation. The electromechanical model is derived according to force integration method (FIM) and Hertz's contact theory, and numerical simulations are undertaken to evaluate the influence of the excitation level, and the gap on the performance. For the linear counterpart without stopper, experimental results indicate the system generates a peak power of 24.12 μW with matched resistance under excitation with a level of 0.003 N and a frequency of 200.3 Hz. When a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) stopper is introduced, the vibration of the piezoelectric beam exhibits an obvious nonlinearity with an amplitude of micron scale. Increasing the excitation level and decreasing the gap could efficiently broaden the response bandwidth. Experimental results demonstrate that a copper stopper with larger elastic modulus results in a wider response frequency range, and the half‐power bandwidth could reach 37.1 Hz under excitation with a level of 0.003 N. Both copper and lithium act as strong fluxes and lower the temperature of the clinker melt formation. Sulphur promotes the stabilisation of more hydraulically active modification of alite M1. It is expected that this combination could produce an alite clinker at significantly lower temperatures with high quality technological parameters. In this paper, the effect of combined oxides of copper, lithium and sulphur addition on the phase composition and clinker structure of Portland cement was investigated. The reference raw meal was prepared from common cement raw materials. Each of the mentioned oxides was added to the reference raw meal in two different concentrations, and 8 combinations were prepared. Chemically pure compounds (NH4)2SO4, CuO and Li2CO3 were used as a source of these oxides. The raw meals were burned to equilibrium at 1450°C. Their phase composition was determined by X‐ray diffraction analysis, the microstructure was monitored by optical microscopy, and the microchemistry of the clinker phases was observed by electron microscopy with EDS analysis. It was found that in samples with high lithium or copper content, there is an increase in belite and free lime at the expense of alite. The combination of Cu + Li has the most negative effect, followed by Li alone and Cu alone. The higher SO3 content slightly offsets this negative effect. LAY DESCRIPTION: Clinker is the main intermediate in the production of Portland cement. It is formed at high temperatures in a rotary kiln and its main component is the mineral alite – tricalcium silicate. Alite crystallises in several polymorphic modifications, and sulphur stabilises the modification that increases cement strength. Both copper and lithium act as strong fluxes and lower the temperature of the clinker melt formation. The addition of a combination of these 3 elements to the raw meal for clinker burning is expected to lower the melt formation temperature, and clinker with a high alite content will be formed at lower temperatures than normal. This would both save energy consumption for burning and reduce CO2 emissions in cement production. In this paper, the effect of combined of copper, lithium, and sulphur addition on the phase composition and clinker structure of Portland cement was investigated. The reference raw meal was prepared from common cement raw materials, two limestones, clay shale and Fe correction. Each of the mentioned elements was added to the reference raw meal in two different concentrations, and 8 combinations were prepared. Chemically pure compounds (NH4)2SO4, CuO, and Li2CO3 were used as a source of these elements. The raw meals were burned at 1450°C. Their phase composition was determined by X‐ray diffraction analysis, the microstructure was monitored by optical microscopy, and the microchemistry of the clinker phases was observed by electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy. It was found that in samples with high lithium or copper content, there is an decrease in alite. The combination of Cu + Li has the most negative effect, followed by Li alone and Cu alone. The higher sulphur content slightly offsets this negative effect. Finally, a clinker was prepared with the addition of these 3 dopants at a temperature of 1325°C, 125°C lower than in conventional industrial production, which had a high quality phase composition with a high alite content. Industrialized economies in the EU depend heavily on imports of minerals. The extraction and parts of the transport and processing of these minerals take place in the Global South and often bear high human rights and environmental risks. A lack of traceability in mineral supply chains makes it particularly difficult to hold companies accountable for negative environmental and social impacts of their operations and those of their suppliers. This paper analyses three mineral supply chains (copper, platinum, and gold) in order to develop propositions about how supply chain‐specific characteristics affect traceability and foreign corporate accountability (FCA) in mineral supply chains. The analytical framework focuses on three dimensions: geopolitical dynamics, industry characteristics, and private governance mechanisms. The authors argue that chain‐specific characteristics may foster or thwart traceability and FCA in mineral supply chains and thus provides a novel contribution to the debate on traceability and accountability in mineral supply chains. Nickel‐based alloys are well‐known multicomponent alloys with a composition carefully balanced to provide the desired properties for various industrial applications. While these alloys are corrosion resistant, under severe conditions corrosion can still occur, which can result in serious damage to a system in operation. To improve their reliability, the composition of nickel‐based alloys can be tailored to particular operating conditions. To improve their corrosion resistance, alloying elements such as chromium, molybdenum (+tungsten), and copper can be added, which promote the oxide formation process and thereby contribute to oxide passivity. The effect of softening/decarbonisation and dosage of orthophosphate on copper corrosion was studied in pipe rigs according to the German standard DIN 50931, part 1. A literature study with regard to the effects of phosphate dosing on copper corrosion has shown that on the one hand and in most of the cases a dosage of phosphate led to lower copper concentrations. On the other hand phosphate aggravated the copper corrosion in some cases. The mechanisms are not yet clear and the influence of phosphate on the corrosion of copper remains a question to be answered. Using standardised on-site corrosion tests (DIN 50931-1) with virgin copper pipes softening/decarbonisation has decreased the copper concentration. Two effects of phosphate on copper corrosion were noticed: Phosphate dosing decreased the copper oxidation and resulted in lower copper concentration in water. Likewise phosphate hindered the precipitation of cupric ions, which prolonged the existence of copper in water and resulted in a higher copper concentration. The present paper reports a remote carbon‐to‐carbon boryl migration via an intramolecular 1,4‐B/Cu shift, which establishes an in situ stereospecific electrophilic trap on the alkene moiety. The synthetic application is developed to prepare functionalized cyclopentenes by means of a palladium‐catalyzed regioselective intramolecular coupling that completes a strategic cyclopropanation and generates valuable structural bicyclic systems. The mechanism is characterized by DFT (density functional theory) calculations which showed that the 1,4‐migration proceeds through an intramolecular, nucleophilic attack of the copper‐alkyl moiety on the boron atom bonded to the C(sp2), leading to a 5‐membered boracycle structure. Conventional substrates for optoelectronic systems include inorganic or organic carrier materials; however, these systems are typically subjected to environmentally harmful multistep processes to prepare printed circuit boards. To mitigate these issues, the present article reports a polyether ether ketone (PEEK)‐based composite densely filled with copper microparticles, prepared using a simple, cost‐effective, and sustainable synthesis method. The material exhibits high thermal conductivity but is electrically nonconductive prior to undergoing laser treatment. To prevent the composite from exhibiting electrical conductivity, the copper particles are coated with a thin silica layer through a sol–gel reaction. The thermal stability of PEEK and the Cu–PEEK composites with Cu contents of up to 70 vol%, which are prepared via heat melding, is investigated by thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy to clarify the manner in which copper affects the chemical structure of the polymer. The developed composite exhibits a significantly higher thermal conductivity than that of the unfilled PEEK polymer. This paper also describes the effects of laser treatment on the surface morphology. Copper‐based (Cu‐based) catalysts can efficiently convert carbon dioxide to multicarbon products by electrochemical reduction. In this paper, the electrocatalyst with the coexistence of three valence states of Cu(0)‐Cu(I)‐Cu(II) was successfully prepared by adjusting the experimental conditions. The catalyst was derived from Cu/Cu2O prepared on carbon cloth and exhibited excellent CO2 reduction performance. For carbon‐gaseous products, the Faradaic efficiencies for the Cu‐2 catalyst consisting of Cu(0)‐Cu(I)‐Cu(II) were 35.45±3.40 % at −1.66 V vs. RHE, of which 23.85±1.18 % for C2H4. And the synergistic effect of Cu(0)‐Cu(I)‐Cu(II) significantly improved the selectivity of the catalyst to C2H4. Thermogalvanic cells (TGCs) can convert low‐grade heat into electric energy. Currently, Carnot efficiency of the P‐type TGC can reach higher than 11%, but the TGC's commercialization is still limited due to the low Carnot efficiency of the N‐type TGC. In this paper, new TGCs are reported, and they are made of desert sand grains mixed with the Cu(NO₃)₂ aqueous electrolyte, named as QS‐Cu‐TGCs, the thermoelectric performance of which is investigated. It is found that although sand grains are common, widely seen in the desert, the Carnot efficiency of such N‐type QS‐Cu‐TGCs is quite high, about 4%, with the Seebeck coefficient of 8.4 mV K−1, driven by the temperature difference 12.1 K between two electrodes, in an environment below 373 K. This paper introduces the research on the elements that could lead to the DGS issue of Mini LED BLU, as well as a theoretical model built based on the research result. By performing a variety of experiments studying the relationship between several elements, this DGS issue was confirmed to be caused by electrochemical corrosion under the joint impact of water steam infiltrate and electric potential difference between metal pattern on the product. In this specific circumstance, the two necessary condition for DGS issue to happen are electric potential difference between 2 nd Cu layer pattern in LED zone and 1 st Cu layer pattern on the G‐ bus, and the water steam infiltrated from the via hole left for the LED chip soldering. The water steam infiltrated then diffuse through the 1 st Resin layer and the time cost for the water steam to reach the position where electric potential difference exists is in a direct proportion to the distance from such point to the soldering via. Moreover, the larger that electric potential difference is, the higher probability of DGS issue happening is, while the relationship between this probability and the distance mentioned previously is in an opposite way. Overall, by applying several optimization such cancelling the hedgehopping 1 st Cu pattern and adding extra inorganic insulating layer protection on the design of product, and applying an extra cathode protection design, the DGS issue was significantly resolved. In order to improve the cost‐effectiveness of COG Mini LED backlight products, this paper proposes a small aspect ratio high‐voltage Mini LED solution. This solution reduces the Cu thick traces of the glass substrate by means of high‐voltage driving, thereby reducing the cost of BP. At the same time, with the structure design of 1:1 aspect ratio, it can effectively reduce the die‐bonding skew and improve the product yield. At present, the solution has been verified many times with MNT products, which proves the feasibility of the solution and plays an important role in promoting COG Mini LED products to seize the MLED industry opportunities. The field of printed electronics strives for lower processing temperatures to move toward flexible substrates that have vast potential: from wearable medical devices to animal tagging. Typically, ink formulations are optimized using mass screening and elimination of failures; as such, there are no comprehensive studies on the fundamental chemistry at play. Herein, findings which describe the steric link to decomposition profile: combining density functional theory, crystallography, thermal decomposition, mass spectrometry, and inkjet printing, are reported. Through the reaction of copper(II) formate with excess alkanolamines of varying steric bulk, tris‐co‐ordinated copper precursor ions: "[CuL3]," each with a formate counter‐ion (1–3) are isolated and their thermal decomposition mass spectrometry profiles are collected to assess their suitability for use in inks (I1–3). Spin coating and inkjet printing of I1,2 provides an easily up‐scalable method toward the deposition of highly conductive copper device interconnects (ρ = 4.7–5.3 × 10−7 Ω m; ≈30% bulk) onto paper and polyimide substrates and forms functioning circuits that can power light‐emitting diodes. B OHC b showed definite fluorescence reduction only to Cu SP 2+ sp and applied to paper-strip for the first time among chromone-based fluorescence chemosensors that detect Cu SP 2+ sp . On addition of Cu SP 2+ sp into B OHC b , the absorbance of 280 and 380 nm gradually increased and that of 340 nm decreased until the amount of Cu SP 2+ sp increased up to 1.25 equiv. In the SP 1 sp H NMR titrations (Figure S5), as Cu SP 2+ sp was added, all proton signals blurred due to the paramagnetic character of Cu SP 2+ sp , indicating that B OHC b interacted with Cu SP 2+ sp . In this paper, we show that survey‐based expectations of the Chilean exchange rate have the ability to predict the returns of the six primary non‐ferrous metals: aluminum, copper, lead, nickel, tin, and zinc. Predictability is also found for returns of the London Metal Exchange Index. Previous studies have shown that the Chilean exchange rate has the ability to predict copper returns, a world commodity index and base metal prices. Nevertheless, our results indicate that expectations about the Chilean peso have stronger predictive ability relative to the first lag of the Chilean currency. This is shown both in‐sample and out‐of‐sample. By focusing on expectations of a commodity currency, and not on the currency itself, our paper provides indirect but new and strong evidence of the ability that commodity currencies have to forecast commodity prices. Single‐atom catalysts (SACs) are an emerging class of materials, leveraging maximum atom utilization and distinctive structural and electronic properties to bridge heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis. Direct imaging methods, such as aberration‐corrected high‐angle annular dark‐field scanning transmission electron microscopy, are commonly applied to confirm the atomic dispersion of active sites. However, interpretations of data from these techniques can be challenging due to simultaneous contributions to intensity from impurities introduced during synthesis processes, as well as any variation in position relative to the focal plane of the electron beam. To address this matter, this paper presents a comprehensive study on two representative SACs containing isolated nickel or copper atoms. Spectroscopic techniques, including X‐ray absorption spectroscopy, were employed to prove the high metal dispersion of the catalytic atoms. Employing scanning transmission electron microscopy imaging combined with single‐atom‐sensitive electron energy loss spectroscopy, we scrutinized thin specimens of the catalysts to provide an unambiguous chemical identification of the observed single‐atom species and thereby distinguish impurities from active sites at the single‐atom level. Overall, the study underscores the complexity of SACs characterization and establishes the importance of the use of spectroscopy in tandem with imaging at atomic resolution to fully and reliably characterize single‐atom catalysts. ABSTRACT Exploring the relationship between the structure of active site and the activity in molecular level and investigating the reason for deactivation are extremely important in designing the highly active catalyst. In this paper, new self‐assembly Schiff‐base Pd/Cu nanosheets supported on the surface of graphene oxide (GO) (called as GO@Hpmaba‐Pd/Cu) were fabricated and characterized. Among them, GO@Hpmaba‐Pd0.2/Cu0.8 exhibited a high activity with a TOF value of up to 95,357 h−1 and substrate suitability in Suzuki cross‐coupling reaction. GO@Hpmaba‐Pd0.2/Cu0.8 could be reused at least 13 times. GO@Hpmaba‐Pd0.2/Cu0.8 was a heterogeneous catalyst and the catalysis occurred on the surface. The truly active sites included Pd/PdO/CuO/PdCu3 formed in situ on the surface of the hetero‐organometallic Pd/Cu nanosheet during catalysis. The synergistic effects among these active sites could be described as that the electrons transferred from GO to CuO (PdO) or to Pd via ligand (Hpmaba) and subsequently electrons transferred from CuO (PdO) to Pd. These made more electron negative palladium, enhancing the oxidation addition between palladium and aryl halide and prompting the activity. The deactivation of catalyst was mainly caused by some destroyed organometallic in the nanosheet, residues adsorbed on catalytic surface, loss of active Pd due to the leaching with increase of recycling, and the aggregation of active metals. An effective concept of using entropy increase to regulate the nanoscale solvation structure has been proposed to enhance the cycle performance of anode‐free lithium metal batteries (AFLMBs). It includes two mainstream types: entropy increase driven by multiple salts or solvents. However, most current research is based on low‐loading cathodes and mAh‐level battery systems. The relationship between the increase in entropy and practical battery with different high‐loading cathodes and Ah‐levels is seldom reported. In this paper, two mainstream methods of entropy increase are compared, and the relationship of their kinetics parameters, solid electrolyte interphase formation, and cycling performances are studied. It is found that the entropy increases driven by multiple‐solvents are more favorable to the pouch cell with high‐loading cathode and lean electrolytes. The coin cell consists of a copper current collector and a high‐loading cathode (10.5 mg cm−2) performs 40 cycles at discharge rates of 0.5 C, while the cell with a conventional ester electrolyte only last 10 cycles. A large‐capacity pouch cell (4 Ah), with a high‐loading cathode (7.6 mAh cm−2, single side) and lean electrolyte of 1.3 g Ah−1, achieves 500 Wh kg−1 and 20 cycles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Group 12 element zinc(II)‐based d10 complexes have long been known for their inherent colorlessness, which has limited their applications in visible light‐driven photophysical and photochemical applications, despite the attractiveness of inexpensive and low‐toxicity zinc metal. Based on precedents with nickel(0) and copper(I) complexes, which also adopt the d10 electronic configuration, achieving a visible light response from zinc(II) complexes seems feasible; however, investigations and proactive design strategies specifically tailored to zinc remain lacking. In this context, the present invited concept paper highlights zinc's potential for visible light responsiveness and evaluates how molecular designs can achieve this capability. After delineating the differences between zinc and other d10 metal centers, we review recent developments in zinc complexes that exhibit visible light absorption and compare these complexes with previously reported colorless complexes to identify key distinctions. The increasing use of weathering steels (WS) has raised concerns regarding the diffuse emission of alloying elements. This research paper investigates the release of iron (Fe) and the alloying elements (Cr), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn) and nickel (Ni) from two commercially available WS at urban field conditions in Stockholm, Sweden, during 1 year and in the laboratory at simulated urban conditions. The amount of released metals is evaluated and compared with recommended levels of metals in drinking water and the formation and evolution of the protective patina is studied in parallel to assess the influence on the metal release process. Only minor amounts of the alloying elements are released and is only linked to the outermost surface composition of the patina during the very beginning of the exposure. The behavior of fractal growth based on copper metal was examined by micro‐point electrode electrodeposition. On this basis, the process and morphological characteristic of Cu fractal growth can be controlled by changing the electrodeposition time, current and concentration of Cu2+. The growth of snowflake Cu dendrites is confined to the two‐dimensional plane of the paper base to monitor the fractal structural changes. The electrodeposition process of snowflake Cu dendrites is deeply regulated by exploring the changing trend of fractal dimension. To further understand the fractal growth mechanism of Cu, the electro‐driven centripetal migration and random migration of ions are introduced in the traditional diffusion‐limited aggregation model. The simulated fractal patterns successfully correspond with the experimental results. The results are helpful to explore the fractal growth characteristics and dynamic mechanism of the electrodeposited copper dendrites, which lay a foundation for controlling the growth of the electrodeposited metal dendrites. A pentadentate diamide ligand, N,N′‐di(pyridine‐2‐yl)pyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxamide (L1H2) and its tetranuclear Cu(II) complex [Cu4(L1)2(μ3‐OH)2(H2O)3(ClO4)](ClO4) ⋅ H2O are reported. X‐ray crystal structure of the complex reveals that it has an open‐book type architecture. Two central copper atoms are connected to each other by two hydroxo bridges. Each of these two hydroxo bridges also connects the two central copper atoms to one of the two terminal copper atoms. Variable temperature susceptibility measurements show that χMT decreases with the temperature, indicating a strong antiferromagnetic behavior. With the help of DFT calculations the magnetic data was analyzed using the spin Hamiltonian H=−2 J1S3 ⋅ S4 −2 J2(S3 ⋅ S1+ S3 ⋅ S2+ S4 ⋅ S1+ S4 ⋅ S2)−2 J3S1 ⋅ S2 (where subscripts 1 and 2 refer to the terminal copper atoms and 3 and 4 refer to the central copper atoms). The best fit was obtained with 2 J1=−322 cm−1, 2 J2=+34.8 cm−1, 2 J3=−8.8 cm−1 and g=2.18, indicating a δ‐type interaction between terminal copper atoms. The complex proves to be an avid binder of ct‐DNA, with apparent binding constant (Kapp) value estimated as 1.536×107 M−1. In vitro experiments indicate that the Cu(II) complex reduced the proliferation of HCT116 cells among other cell lines. This reduction of cell proliferation may be attributed to the enhancement of intracellular ROS, along with modulation and disruption of cell cycle associated proteins. Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) can effectively remove methylene blue (MB) from wastewater due to their abundant adsorption sites and multi‐level pores. In this paper, a copper‐based MOF: {[Cu ⋅ (L) ⋅ (H2O)] ⋅ (DMF)}n (1) (H2L=2‐hydroxyterephthalic acid; DMF=N,N‐dimethylformamide), was synthesized by hydrothermal synthesis method. X‐ray single crystal diffraction showed that a two‐dimensional structure was formed by the carboxyl group of L2− in 1 took μ2‐η1 : η1 bridged two adjacent Cu(II). In this two‐dimensional structure, the coordinated water molecules and hydroxyl group on L2− were distributed on the surface of 1. Thus, it had abundant adsorption sites. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) of copper‐based MOF nano adsorbent showed that the particle diameter of the nano adsorbent prepared by a cell fragmentation apparatus was about 50 nm. The performance of the copper‐based MOF nano adsorbent in adsorbing MB indicated that the optimal adsorbent dosage was 0.20 g/L and the solution pH was 6. Under the optimal experimental conditions, its maximum adsorption capacity for MB was 143.3 mg/g, which was superior to most MOFs adsorbents. A heterostructure based on MOFs with a small lattice mismatch is ideal for improving glucose's electrochemical sensing performance. Herein, a novel one‐pot carbothermal reduction technique to prepare Cu‐BTC@Cu/C heterostructure with intimate interfacial contact and high yield was developed, by in situ integrating Cu‐BTC (Cu3(BTC)2 ⋅ 3H2O) and its derived Cu/C nanocomposites. Structure characterizations demonstrated that Cu‐BTC@Cu/C heterostructure shows a synergistic effect in the combination of these two components, with more electrochemical active sites and lower resistance. Compared with each individual component, Cu‐BTC@Cu/C heterostructure exhibits better glucose electrooxidation performance. Under optimal condition, an extremely sensitive nonenzymatic glucose sensor with a low detection limit of 6.78 μM, sensitivity of 911.03 μA mM−1 cm−2, linear range of 0.001–2.0 mM, and anti‐interference performance is presented. Meanwhile, the newly constructed sensor was effectively employed for detecting glucose in honey sample with perfect recoveries, showing its great potential toward glucose monitoring in real sample. In addition, it has been demonstrated Cu(II) can be induced into Cu(I) by glucose in solution, while Cu(I) could be electrochemically converted to Cu(II), therefore achieving a Cu(I)/Cu(II) redox cycle. Enhancing interfacial adhesion between functional coatings and target surfaces facilitates long‐term stable service by mitigating interferences of mechanical mismatches. Design of mechanical interlocks affords an effective strategy to strengthen the interfacial bonding with durability and compatibility, but the in‐depth investigations are still lacked. Herein, a gecko‐inspired hierarchical strategy realized by hybrid laser direct writing is proposed, which incorporates an armored frame scale for surface protection and a riveted anchor scale for interlocks. Such dual‐scale configurations endow the functional coatings with the stronger adhesion to the targets than the pristine and mono‐scale cases, resulting in 2 orders of magnitude enhancement resistant to tape peeling tests. Utilizing this scheme, a laser‐induced integrated deicing system is in situ manufactured on thermoplastics, primarily comprising superhydrophobic structures, carbon‐based sensors as well as adhesive copper (Cu) interconnects and heaters, where Cu‐based devices exhibit superior resistance to water impacts and stress fatigue. Interfacing with signal processing modules, such an all‐in‐one system demonstrates real‐time temperature monitoring and high efficiency in deicing (4.24 folds faster than the control group). Specific recognition and detoxification for copper is the key step for the early diagnosis and treatment of various diseases such as neurodegenerative disease and Wilson's disease. Herein, a Chlorella vulgaris‐inspired versatile theranostic nanoparticles is facilely and greenly prepared by assembling quercetin into poly(beta‐cyclodextrin) (PQNPs), which is further employed in the specific recognition and detoxification for Cu2+ in vitro and in vivo. PQNPs can be used in the detection of Cu2+ in aqueous solutions with fast response time (<5 s) and low detection limit (6.499 nM). The detection for Cu2+ in water and serum can be achieved by naked eye instantaneously on a PQNPs‐based paper sensor, and PQNPs can also act as a biological diagnostic agent for the Cu2+ imaging. Remarkably, PQNPs significantly enhance cell viability of the cell models induced by Cu2+ through the synergistic capacities of chelating Cu2+ and antioxidation. The detoxification of PQNPs for copper poisoning model is further ascertained in vivo, and it found that poly‐β‐cyclodextrin is capable of crossing the blood–brain barrier. Taken together, the as‐prepared versatile theranostic nanoparticles possess advantages of simple composition, significant theranostic efficacy, and novel treatment pattern, presenting an intriguing avenue to develop therapeutics for tackling abnormal copper metabolism in the clinic. Luminescent CuI complexes are an important class of coordination compounds due to their relative abundance, low cost and ability to display excellent luminescence. The title Cu2I2P2S2‐type binuclear complex, di‐μ‐iodido‐bis[(thiourea‐κS)(triphenylphosphine‐κP)copper(I)], [Cu2I2(CH4N2S)2(C18H15P)2], conventionally abbreviated as Cu2I2TPP2TU2, where TPP and TU represent triphenylphosphine and thiourea, respectively, is described. In this complex, each CuI atom adopts a CuI2PS four‐coordination mode and pairs of atoms are connected to each other by two μ2‐I ligands to form a centrosymmetric binuclear cluster. It was also found that the paper‐based film of this complex exhibited obvious luminescence light‐up sensing for pyridine and 4‐methylpyridine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Home appliances such as residential air conditioners are based on the variable speed drives for AC motors such as IPMSM and IM. These variable speed drives always require the simple and low‐cost system configurations without the large electrolytic capacitors, reactors, and power devices that consist of PFC converters. This paper surveys and analyzes the proposed and advanced control techniques to achieve high input power factor and sinusoidal source current control in electrolytic capacitor‐less inverters. The investigated control methods consist of control algorithms based on the energy flow between input and output of the electrolytic capacitor‐less inverter, and all of them are useful as high‐power factor control methods for compressor drive motors such as air conditioners. Wearable sensors based on nanomaterials have recently elicited keen research interest and potential for a new range of flexible devices. This paper presents a simple method for the preparation of laser‐induced porous graphene (LIG) and discusses its application in monitoring human vital signs. LIG formed on a polyimide (PI)/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) composite material exhibits inherent high stretchability (over 30%), eliminating the need for transfer processes used in LIG prepared by laser scribing on PI films. LIG/CuSO4 composite materials, with different concentrations of Cu particles, show tunable mechanical and electronic properties based on laser‐induced graphene. The fabricated LIG demonstrates good cyclic stability and a nearly linear resistance response to tensile strain, making it suitable for wearable electronic devices, the maximum strain value and linear response to applied strain from 3% to 79%. The sensor exhibits a fast response time and high sensitivity, enabling real‐time detection of human pulse, joint motion, and complex dynamics. We report in this paper a novel Cu‐catalyzed synthesis of polysubstituted 1‐pyrrolines. The reaction of β,γ‐unsaturated oxime esters 4 with terminal alkynes 5 in the presence of a catalytic amount of Cu(OAc)2 and 2,2′‐biquinoline affords the corresponding 1,6‐enynimines, which undergo a highly stereoselective Alder‐ene reaction to afford 1‐pyrrolines with concomitant generation of a quaternary carbon and a 2‐azadiene motif. It represents an unusual [4+1] heteroannulation reaction wherein terminal alkynes act as a one carbon donor and are 1,1‐difunctionalized. Mechanistic studies suggest that the allylic hydrogen trans to the oxime ester main chain is selectively transferred to the electron‐rich alkyne during the pericyclic reaction. The resulting 1‐pyrrolines undergo facile acid‐catalyzed regioselective Wagner–Meerwein rearrangement to provide 2H‐pyrroles in excellent yields. The 2H‐pyrroles are also accessible from 4 and 5 in a one‐pot manner without isolation of the 1‐pyrrolines. Leveraging this heteroannulation reaction as a key step, the first total synthesis of borrecapine, a 2,3,3,5‐tetrasubstituted pyrrolidine, is accomplished. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
