This paper conducts a comparative study of the scientific publications of the 31 province‐level regions of Mainland China during 2006–2018. The main results are as follows. First, the four indices, ordered by total number of papers indexed, across all provinces, are the Science Citation Index (SCI), Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI), and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI). The number of international publications from these regions shows an increasing trend, while the number of domestic research outputs shows a fluctuating trend. Second, the international and domestic publications produced by these regions greatly improved over the study period. Third, different regions vary greatly not only in research output but also in research preference. The top five preferred disciplines of international and domestic academic achievement are very different; the former all belong to the natural sciences, while more than 7 of 10 of the latter belong to the social sciences. Moreover, the adjacency matrices of the similarity of the 31 regions show that there is some correlation between the research spotlight of a region and its economic and cultural patterns. In general, scientific research in China has developed rapidly in recent years, and different regions vary greatly not only in research achievement but also in research preference. In recent years, China's advanced light sources have entered a period of rapid construction and development. As modern X-ray detectors and data acquisition technologies advance, these facilities are expected to generate massive volumes of data annually, presenting significant challenges in data management and utilization. These challenges encompass data storage, metadata handling, data transfer and user data access. In response, the Data Organization Management Access Software (DOMAS) has been designed as a framework to address these issues. DOMAS encapsulates four fundamental modules of data management software, including metadata catalogue, metadata acquisition, data transfer and data service. For light source facilities, building a data management system only requires parameter configuration and minimal code development within DOMAS. This paper firstly discusses the development of advanced light sources in China and the associated demands and challenges in data management, prompting a reconsideration of data management software framework design. It then outlines the architecture of the framework, detailing its components and functions. Lastly, it highlights the application progress and effectiveness of DOMAS when deployed for the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) and Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). High-data-throughput and multimodal-acquisition experiments will prevail in next-generation synchrotron beamlines. Orchestrating dataflow pipelines connecting the data acquisition, processing, visualization and storage ends are becoming increasingly complex and essential for enhancing beamline performance. Mamba Data Worker (MDW) has been developed to address the data challenges for the forthcoming High Energy Photon Source (HEPS). It is an important component of the Mamba experimental control and data acquisition software ecosystem, which enables fast data acquisition and transmission, dynamic configuration of data processing pipelines, data multiplex in streaming, and customized data and metadata assembly. This paper presents the architecture and development plan of MDW, outlines the essential technologies involved, and illustrates its current application at the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). This study presents a novel bus charging station planning problem considering integrated photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems (PESS) to smooth the carbon‐neutral transition of transportation. This paper illustrates a two‐stage stochastic programming model capturing the uncertainty of PV power outputs and designs a step‐wise solution approach in which a conventional charging station location problem is solved in the first step and an improved L‐shaped algorithm is developed in the second step to determine charging station locations with PESS. The numerical experiments indicate that the step‐wise solution approach can provide high‐quality solutions within acceptable computational time. A case study is performed using a real‐world transit network in Beijing, China, with 34 bus routes and 15 candidate bus charging stations. Compared with the benchmark model, both recharging cost and carbon emission are reduced considerably. In urban railway systems, the timetable guides the section operation of the single train and the arrangement of the train group to meet the dual needs of cost and passengers. This paper proposes a two‐objective train operation optimization based on eco‐driving and timetabling to restore a more realistic scene, including a method level and an objective level. For the method level, the speed curve optimization of the single train and the timetable optimization of the train group are adopted jointly. For the objective level, both the total energy consumption of the train group and the consuming time of passengers are considered. A hybrid solution strategy based on quadratic programming and improved artificial bee colony algorithm is proposed. A hardware‐in‐the‐loop platform is built to carry out validation experiments. Both the cases in general hours and special hours are verified based on the actual data from Beijing Metro Line 15. The results show that both the energy consumption and the passenger consuming time are reduced simultaneously. Correspondingly, the speed curve and the time distribution of the timetable are individually optimized based on the fluctuating passenger flow. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims to examine the contents of professional architectural books on worker residential areas in the Soviet Union, analyzing proposals based on the Northeast China's experience during the First Five‐Year Plan. Despite sharing a common source for residential design, differences in regional and situational conditions result in diversity between China and the Soviet Union. By considering the plan for worker residential areas in Beijing and analyzing the case of the planned Beijing No. 2 textile factory in 1953, it can be concluded that China had already developed original residential planning ideas and methods during that period. The urban barrier effect is one possible physical mechanism by which the urbanization alters the spatial distribution of cloud‐to‐ground (CG) lightning activity in a city. There is a gap in the preceding research on an urban barrier effect to alter patterns of CG lightning in Beijing, and the urban morphology does not receive enough attention as an important influencing factor. By combining lightning location data, ground meteorological data, and urban morphology datasets, we identify a possible urban barrier effect from the perspective of CG lightning in Beijing during 2010–2017. Analysis of one typical thunderstorm on 13 July 2017 revealed that the barrier effect might result in a bifurcation of low‐level airflow and splitting of the convergence line. A more important finding was the modulation of the barrier effect by the scale and density of the built‐up area, and the numerical simulation experiments further confirmed this potential association. Plain Language Summary: Lightning is a common hazard associated with thunderstorms, which can result in $332 million of property damage annually in the United States and cause more than 1,000 casualties per year in China. Beijing, as one of the first‐tier cities in China, is undergoing a rapid urbanization in both city size and building density. Statistical results of cloud‐to‐ground lightning activity over 8 years showed that there were lots of lightning at the edge of the city, and most lightning seemed to be diverted around the city center. Due to a possible barrier effect, the path of a thunderstorm on 13 July 2017 was obviously altered by the city, also resulting in the change of near‐surface wind field. Except for synoptic forcing, wind speed, and urban heat island, this paper pointed out that the size of a city and its building density could influence whether the barrier effect occurred and how strong it was. The accurate prediction of flight delays is of great significance to airports, airlines and passengers. This paper presents a causal flight delay prediction model developed for a single airport. A long short‐term memory network of delay prediction with an attention mechanism (LSTM‐AM) is established to predict flight delays and analyse their primary causes. In this model, the direct and indirect factors related to delays are comprehensively considered. LSTM‐AM can focus on input data combined with the attention vector to capture the critical time points, which can make the prediction more accurate. The model's performance is verified by actual operational data of Beijing International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world. Experimental results show that LSTM‐AM has better prediction accuracy than baseline algorithms such as some machine learning methods and deep learning methods. The mean absolute error of LSTM‐AM is about 8.15 min on the test dataset. The study found that using the predicted results of this paper to release delayed information in advance can effectively alleviate the nervousness of passengers. At the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS; Beijing, People's Republic of China), where up to 90 beamlines can be provided in the future, minimization of workload for individual beamlines and maximization of knowledge about one beamline that can be applied to other beamlines is essential to minimize the total complexity in beamline control. Presented in this paper are our efforts to achieve these goals by composing relatively simple utilities and mechanisms to automate tasks, while always remembering to keep our automation solutions simple and clear. After an introduction to our choice of basic software in EPICS-based beamline control, the issues encountered in introducing package management to EPICS modules, as well as solutions to them, are presented; the design and implementation of the packaging system is concisely discussed. After a presentation of our efforts to reduce the need for self-built multi-device EPICS 'input/output controller' (IOC) applications by providing reusable modular IOC executables, implementation of easily maintainable multi-IOC setups through the separation and minimization of each user's IOC configurations is given. The ongoing project of comprehensive beamline services at HEPS to further simplify configuration management on multiple scales, ranging from individual beamline devices to all beamlines at HEPS, is introduced. The microminiaturization of detectors used to record the intensity of X‐ray beams is very favorable for combined X‐ray experimental techniques. In this paper, chemical‐vapor‐deposited (CVD) polycrystalline diamond film was used to fabricate a micro‐detector owing to its well controlled size, good thermostability, and appropriate conductivity. The preparation process and the main components of the CVD diamond micro‐detector are described. The external dimensions of the packaged CVD diamond micro‐detector are 15 mm × 7.8 mm × 5.8 mm. To demonstrate the performance of the detector, K‐edge X‐ray absorption fine‐structure (XAFS) spectra of Cr, Fe, Cu, and Se foils were collected using the CVD diamond micro‐detector and routine ion chamber. These XAFS measurements were performed at beamline 1W2B of Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility, covering an energy range from 5.5 to 13.5 keV. By comparison, it can be seen that the CVD diamond micro‐detector shows a more excellent performance than the routine ion‐chamber in recording these XAFS spectra. Demand responsive transit (DRT) with app‐based reservation platforms is experiencing a renaissance to bring the tremendous potential for mobility in the urban universe. Nevertheless, how to attract and retain passengers for long‐term use has become one of the most significant problems. The decision‐making psychology of passengers is often overlooked but incredibly critical in the practical applicability of DRT services. This paper proposes a more flexible DRT service with soft time windows considering boundedly rational passengers. A compensation mechanism is developed to alleviate the dissatisfaction of passengers while considerably promoting the system efficiency. A two‐stage model is designed to incorporate bounded rationality into the optimization process of mixed demand, including the static phase for reservation passengers and the dynamic phase for real‐time passengers. To enhance the computational efficiency, a hybrid heuristic algorithm combining spatiotemporal clustering and non‐dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA)‐II is constructed to obtain the Pareto solutions set. An illustrative example of the Nguyen–Dupuis network is presented to demonstrate the validity of the algorithm. Subsequently, a large‐scale case study in Beijing evaluated the applicability of DRT in the real‐world network. The results reveal that dynamic DRT with compensation mechanism can substantially improve the system performance while ensuring the service quality. The response rate of passengers has been dramatically promoted to 80%. The operating profit has been enormously improved by up to 73%. Therefore, this study is radically conducive to understanding the passenger's decision‐making psychology while constructing a more cost‐efficient flexible strategy for the service provider. The coordination of economy, energy, and environment plays an important role for cities seeking green transformation and sustainable development. However, poor information and equivocal data are what often face the related analysis. In this paper, the correlation and synergy of the urban economy–energy–environment system are analyzed. First, the Grey relational analysis and entropy weight method are combined and introduced to analyze the correlation degree in the indicator level and the subsystem level of the 3E system. Then, the concepts of ordinal parameter and comprehensive correlation degree are introduced, to evaluate the ordering degree of subsystems and the synergy degree of compound systems. Finally, the data of Beijing from 2008 to 2017 are used for empirical study. Results suggest that a fluctuating tendency of low synergy or none synergy is observed in the Beijing 3E system. Furthermore, the improvement of the energy subsystem displays dominant effects on the coordinated development of compound systems, and the technological innovation and structural optimization in industries could help to improve the Beijing economy–energy–environment system. This paper presents a longitudinal interpretive case study on the development of healthcare costing in China over the period 2002 to 2015. Adopting a middle‐range theory lens, the study explores dynamic interactions in the use of cost information among societal institutions and organizations. It reports the successful internalization of costing systems in public hospitals in Beijing, which supports the effectiveness of a hybrid steering mechanism combining both transactional and relational features; however, such successful internalization does not indicate the success of steering the lifeworld of institutions and organizations towards change. Notably, hospitals' responses to steering alter over time, from passive absorption to active manipulation, revealing how cost information may underpin hospital beliefs in marketization. At an institutional level, the paper provides empirical evidence for relational steering among societal institutions, where a reaction of 'rebuttal' is observed. It offers insights on how accounting can be a powerful tool in legitimizing such rebuttal, while keeping political considerations as hidden agendas. The findings suggest the importance of understanding lifeworld complexity at both societal and organizational levels, and cross‐institutional collaboration in using accounting as a steering mechanism. A non‐recurring incident often negatively affects traffic, which is represented as non‐recurrent congestion. However, travellers can usually perceive congestion without knowing the underlying reasons. Accordingly, this paper proposes a data‐driven framework for non‐recurrent congestion detection and interpretation analysis. First, a statistical algorithm named generalized extreme studentized deviate is introduced to detect non‐recurrent congestion by comparing the current traffic speed with the speed threshold learned from historical data. The case study in Beijing shows that the proposed generalized extreme studentized deviate outperforms other prevailing algorithms in terms of detection rate, false alarm rate, and mean detection time. Second, data mining and natural language processing technologies are implemented on data collected from Sina Weibo, a Chinese microblog site akin to Twitter, to classify non‐recurring incidents that may be associated with non‐recurrent congestion, including traffic accident, road construction, concert, special sport (marathon), and commercial activity. Results show that overall classification accuracy reaches 95%. Finally, the association relationship between the detected non‐recurrent congestions and incidents is established via spatiotemporal information matching. This information matching provides a bidirectional verification. On the one hand, nearly 58% of non‐recurrent congestion can be explained by incident‐related (IR) microblogs. On the other hand, an average of 62% of IR microblogs can be traced by nearby non‐recurrent congestions. Absorbing aerosols uniquely impact radiation, aerosol transport, and meteorology. This paper quantifies black carbon core and sulphate shell size and mass using decadal measurements of multi‐spectral aerosol optical depth, single scattering albedo, and angstrom exponent from Aerosol Robotic Network stations located throughout East, Southeast, and South Asia, in connection with a MIE model. All sites are uniquely characterized into four types: urban, biomass burning, long‐range transport, and clean. Unique size and mass probability distributions of both the core and shell are calculated within each classification. Well known urban, biomass burning, and clean sites are all properly identified. Furthermore, two unique sites previously thought to not have multiple characteristics are identified, with urban and biomass burning significant in Beijing and long‐range transport significant in the otherwise clean South China Sea at Taiping Island. It is hoped that these results will allow for advances in attribution and radiative forcing studies. Plain Language Summary: Black Carbon strongly absorbs visible radiation, leading to unique impacts on atmospheric radiation, climate, the water cycle, and PM2.5. This work attributes different aerosol source characteristics, and further specifies the size distribution and concentration of aerosol black carbon cores and refractive shells. This work uses measurements of aerosol optical depth, single scatter albedo, and angstrom exponent, across multiple different wavelengths of light, in combination with statistics and a MIE model (physical model of aerosol/radiation interaction) using a Core‐Shell approximation. The results show that aerosols observed in East, Southeast, and South Asia can be uniquely classified into four types: urban, biomass burning, long‐range transport, and clean. These results are consistent in terms of aerosol size and mass at each site within each type of characterization. Furthermore, two unique sites are identified in which a second characteristic occurs some significant fraction of every year, which otherwise was not known or previously identified in the literature. These results are expected to help enhance the understanding of attribution of aerosols, as well as provide specific size and mass details of the aerosols useful to improve radiative forcing models and aerosol impacts on climate change. Adolescence is the preparatory stage for young people to enter the society. Although teenagers are good at catering to the development trend of society, they are limited by age, growth environment, and other factors, and their cognition of society is too simple, resulting in poor social adaptability. This paper adopts control method and questionnaire survey to study the effect of mental health education on improving social adaptability of teenagers. A total of 712 adolescents from two schools in Beijing were selected for the study (M = 15 76, SD = 2 338). In addition, the age, gender, family environment, and growth environment of the youth were taken as the independent variables. The results showed that the social adaptability of adolescents and its subdimensions were significantly affected by age, family environment, and growth environment (p < 0 05), while gender had little effect on the overall social adaptability of adolescents (p > 0 05). After receiving mental health education, adolescents' social adaptability has significantly improved, with statistical differences in self-adjustment ability, interpersonal adaptability, behavioral adaptability, and environmental adaptability as well as in all dimensions (p < 0 01), indicating that mental health education has obvious and comprehensive improvement effect on adolescents' social adaptability. The social adaptability of adolescents is also affected by their own characteristics and growth background, which will further affect the effect of mental health education on the improvement of the social adaptability of adolescents. Based on these findings, this study provides significant insights for parents and teachers to improve the social adaptability of adolescents from the angle of mental health. Meanwhile, parents and teachers should specially pay attention to the influence of personality and growth background of adolescents which also play a decisive role on the effect of mental health education. Heat wave is serious natural disaster that can harm human health and affect social economy, transportation and ecological environment. This paper investigates the long term trends of high temperature events in three major cities (Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang) of northern China during 1970–2019, and quantifies the contributions of main influencing factors to the variability of high temperature days. High temperature events in Beijing–Tianjin–Shijiazhuang cities mainly occur from June to July and account for 60–65% of the annual total, showing a significant upward trend in the interannual change. There is a trend of high temperature events starting early and ending late in recent 50 years, and this trend is intensified by the increasing urbanization. Due to geographical location and city scale, the frequency and intensity of high temperature events show difference among Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang cities. Variance analysis shows that climate warming contributes 20.2–25.5% to the variability of high temperature days, while urban heat island accounts for 14.7–24.2%, equal to the sum of the contributions from atmospheric circulation and solar activity. Accurate traffic speed forecasting is one of the most critical tasks in proactive traffic management and the deployment of advanced traveler information systems. This paper proposes a hybrid forecasting approach named DeepEnsemble by integrating the three‐dimensional convolutional neural network (3D CNN) with ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD). There are four steps in this hybrid approach. First, EEMD is adopted to decompose the complex traffic speed time series data with noise into several intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) and a residue. Second, a three‐dimensional tensor is established and fed into 3D CNN for prediction. Third, the output of 3D CNN prediction is obtained by a linear combination of the results of all components. Finally, the 3D CNN prediction output, external features, and historical features are fused to predict the network‐wide traffic speed simultaneously. The proposed DeepEnsemble approach is tested on the three‐month traffic speed series data of a real‐world large‐scale urban expressway network with 308 traffic flow detectors in Beijing, China. The experimental results indicate that DeepEnsemble outperforms the state‐of‐the‐art network‐wide traffic speed forecasting models. 3D CNN learns temporal, spatial, and depth information better than 2D CNN. Moreover, forecasting accuracy can be improved by employing EEMD. DeepEnsemble is a promising model with scalability and portability for network‐wide traffic speed prediction and can be further extended to conduct traffic status monitoring and congestion mitigation strategies. This paper analyses the relationship between community attributes and the subway home-price capitalization effect, asking whether the magnitude of the subway proximity premium is affected by neighbourhood economic status and location. Using longitudinal data from Beijing, the paper estimates that decreasing a community's distance to a subway station by 10 per cent increases the housing price per square metre by 0.2 per cent ~ 0.9 per cent. The paper also shows that, subway capitalization effect is around 0.1 per cent ~ 0.2 per cent lower for communities that have higher quality and charge a 1 Yuan higher property management fee. Moreover, the analysis also reveals that the subway capitalization will decrease by around 0.08 per cent as a community's distance to the central business district (CBD) increases by 1 km. Our existing knowledge of the links between urban growth and commuting patterns are dominated by cases from developed countries. This paper examines the impact of urban growth on workers' commutes using the case of Beijing, which is undergoing rapid economic and spatial restructuring. The results of an analysis of household survey data show that clustered and compact urban development in planned sub-centres is likely to reduce suburban workers' need for a long-distance commute to the city centre when the workers' socio-economic characteristics, the level of transport accessibility and household preferences for residential location are taken into account. Workers employed in the manufacturing sector tend to have shorter commutes and travel within the planned suburban sub-centres. This reveals that the decentralization of employment in the manufacturing sector provides more opportunities to enhance the spatial matches between household residential and job location choices. Household preferences for residential location have an effect on commuting patterns, and high-income workers are likely to accept longer commutes in order to fulfil their residential preferences. Dramatic urban restructuring, in conjunction with changes in lifestyle, is creating new commuting patterns in the rapidly growing cities of China. Este artículo examina el impacto del crecimiento urbano en los desplazamientos al trabajo en una ciudad como Pekín, la cual está siendo objeto de una rápida reestructuración económica y espacial. Los resultados del análisis de datos de un muestreo de hogares mostró que es probable que un desarrollo urbano compacto y agrupado en torno a sub-centros planificados a propósito de este modo reduzca la necesidad de largos desplazamientos al trabajo hasta el centro de la ciudad, si se tienen en cuenta las características socioeconómicas de los trabajadores, la facilidad de acceso a transporte y las preferencias de cada hogar en cuanto a la zona residencial. Beijing and its surrounding areas experienced a torrential rainstorm from July 21 to 22, 2012. Previous studies have shown that melting was the main rainwater source in this process. In this paper, melting conversion processes were set to zero (NPMLT test) to analyze the effect of microphysical processes on the structure and precipitation of the convective system. The results showed that without the melting processes, the wind shear at the 700 hPa level decreased, and the wind field in Beijing and its surrounding areas changed. The cold front system moved faster, and the rainfall amount only reached the low rain level, much lower than that during the actual rainstorm. The hydrometeors sources had apparently changed. Though the latent heat release was large and little latent heat absorption occurred in the NPMLT test, the net latent heat did not affect the development of the convective system, and the precipitation was low. Speed curve planning is one of the most important functions of automatic train operation (ATO). To improve the real‐time optimization capability and driver‐friendliness of the existing ATO, an extended ATO framework considering both automatic driving and assisted driving is designed. A multi‐objective optimization model based on quadratic programming is established considering energy‐saving, punctuality, and comfort. However, due to the influence of the weight of multi‐objectives, this method cannot directly obtain the speed curve satisfying the trip time constraint. Further, based on the analysis about the weight of multi‐objects, a time‐constrained quadratic programming algorithm is proposed. With the proposed method, the speed curve can be calculated in real‐time both before operations and during operations. For the former, time‐varying train mass and trip time are considered to guarantee an optimal solution. For the latter, deviations, delays, and maloperations on the way are corrected. Simulation experiments verify the solvability and real‐time performance of the proposed method. In particular, compared with the dynamic programming and (mixed‐integer linear programming) MILP method, the proposed method is more energy‐efficient and easier to be followed by the driver. The rise of online‐to‐offline (O2O) e‐commerce business has brought tremendous opportunities to the logistics industry. In the online‐to‐offline logistics business, it is essential to detect anomaly merchants with fraudulent shipping behaviours, such as sending other merchants' packages for profit with their low discounts. This can help reduce the financial losses of platforms and ensure a healthy environment. Existing anomaly detection studies have mainly focused on online fraud behaviour detection, such as fraudulent purchase and comment behaviours in e‐commerce. However, these methods are not suitable for anomaly merchant detection in logistics due to the more complex online and offline operation of package‐sending behaviours and the interpretable requirements of offline deployment in logistics. MultiDet, a semi‐supervised multi‐view fusion‐based Anomaly Detection framework in online‐to‐offline logistics is proposed, which consists of a basic version SemiDet and an attention‐enhanced multi‐view fusion model. In SemiDet, pair‐wise data augmentation is first conducted to promote model robustness and address the challenge of limited labelled anomaly instances. Then, SemiDet calculates the anomaly scoring of each merchant with an auto‐encoder framework. Considering the multi‐relationships among logistics merchants, a multi‐view attention fusion‐based anomaly detection network is further designed to capture merchants' mutual influences and improve the anomaly merchant detection performance. A post‐hoc perturbation‐based interpretation model is designed to output the importance of different views and ensure the trustworthiness of end‐to‐end anomaly detection. The framework based on an eight‐month real‐world dataset collected from one of the largest logistics platforms in China is evaluated, involving 6128 merchants and 16 million historical order consignor records in Beijing. Demand‐responsive transit has gradually attracted attention in recent years for its flexibility, efficiency, and ability to meet the diverse travel demands of passengers. To improve the operational efficiency of demand‐responsive transit (DRT) with dynamic demand, this study innovatively investigates the DRT scheduling problem from multiple perspectives, such as multi‐vehicle, non‐fixed stop, and dynamic demand, and constructs a two‐phase DRT vehicle scheduling model. In the first phase, a static scheduling model is established with the objective of minimizing vehicle setup cost, operation cost, and CO2 emission cost according to passenger travel satisfaction. In the second phase, a dynamic scheduling model is constructed with the objective of minimizing the increased vehicle operation cost in response to dynamic demand and the penalty cost of violating the time window and rejecting passengers. In addition, in the first static phase, an improved heuristic algorithm is used to obtain optimal routes based on passengers' subscriptions, while in the second phase, an insertion algorithm is designed to solve the dynamic scheduling model based on the previous schedule. Finally, cases are applied to a realistic network in Chaoyang District, Beijing, China, to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheduling model. The results demonstrate that dynamic scheduling can enable more passengers to be served with a slight increase in total vehicle operating costs. Besides, the introduction of the non‐fixed stop service model can significantly reduce total travel time by up to 8.8% compared with the fixed stop service. Online car‐hailing, with its advantages of convenience and efficiency, has quickly become popular among tourists, playing a crucial role in the accessibility of scenic spots. Due to the particularities of tourist travel behaviour and the complexity of travel supply and demand around scenic spots, research on car‐hailing tourists is relatively lacking at this stage. Based on multi‐source data, this study couples the identifying of travel characteristics, by introducing the concept of service dependency degree, with a Bayesian optimization–long short‐term memory–convolutional neural network (BO‐LSTM‐CNN) method to conduct multi‐task online car‐hailing demand forecasting. The evaluation of the dependency degree primarily encompasses the establishment of evaluation indices and the application of the entropy weight method and natural breakpoint method. The BO‐LSTM‐CNN model utilizes Bayesian optimization for hyperparameter tuning, LSTM for temporal variable processing, and CNN for the fusion of multi‐source information related to weather, space, and online car‐hailing attributes. Extracting online car‐hailing tourist travel orders based on spatial–temporal constraints, the proposed methods are applied to 72 scenic spots in Beijing, China. According to their dependency degree, Beijing's scenic spots are categorized into three levels of dependency on online car‐hailing services, from high to low. The outstanding forecasting efficacy of the proposed model for various scenic spots is verified through comparison tests with several benchmark models. Consequent to these findings, mobility service improvement strategies are specifically proposed for each class of scenic spots, which can provide valuable insights for the relevant tourism traffic management personnel. As a representative of the fourth-generation light sources, the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) in Beijing, China, utilizes a multi-bend achromat lattice to obtain an approximately 100 times emittance reduction compared with thirdgeneration light sources. New technologies bring new challenges to operate the storage ring. In order to meet the beam commissioning requirements of HEPS, a new framework for the development of high-level applications (HLAs) has been created. The key part of the new framework is a dual-layer physical module to facilitate the seamless fusion of physical simulation models with the real machine, allowing for fast switching between different simulation models to accommodate the various simulation scenarios. As a framework designed for development of physical applications, all variables are based on physical quantities. This allows physicists to analytically assess measurement parameters and optimize machine parameters in a more intuitive manner. To enhance both extensibility and adaptability, a modular design strategy is utilized, partitioning the entire framework into discrete modules in alignment with the requirements of HLA development. This strategy not only facilitates the independent development of each module but also minimizes inter-module coupling, thereby simplifying the maintenance and expansion of the entire framework. To simplify the development complexity, the design of the new framework is implemented using Python and is called Python-based Accelerator Physics Application Set (Pyapas). Taking advantage of Python's flexibility and robust library support, we are able to develop and iterate quickly, while also allowing for seamless integration with other scientific computing applications. HLAs for both the HEPS linac and booster have been successfully developed. During the beam commissioning process at the linac, Pyapas's ease of use and reliability have significantly reduced the time required for the beam commissioning operators. As a development framework for HLA designed for the new-generation light sources, Pyapas has the versatility to be employed with HEPS, as well as with other comparable light sources, due to its adaptability. Aims: Most studies focus on dynamic cerebral autoregulation (dCA) in the middle cerebral artery (MCA), and few studies investigated neurovascular coupling (NVC) and dCA in the posterior cerebral artery (PCA). We investigated NVC and dCA of the PCA in healthy volunteers to identify sex differences. Methods: Thirty men and 30 age‐matched women completed dCA and NCV assessments. The cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV) and mean arterial pressure were evaluated using transcranial Doppler ultrasound and a servo‐controlled plethysmograph, respectively. The dCA parameters were analyzed using transfer function analysis. The NCV was evaluated by eyes‐open and eyes‐closed (24 s each) periodically based on voice prompts. The eyes‐open visual stimulation comprised silent reading of Beijing‐related tourist information. Results: The PCA gain was lower than that of the MCA in all frequency ranges (all p < 0.05). Phase was consistent across the cerebrovascular territories. The cerebrovascular conductance index (CVCi) and mean CBFV (MV) of the PCA were significantly higher during the eyes‐open than eyes‐closed period (CVCi: 0.50 ± 0.12 vs. 0.38 ± 0.10; MV: 42.89 ± 8.49 vs. 32.98 ± 7.25, both p < 0.001). The PCA dCA and NVC were similar between the sexes. Conclusion: We assessed two major mechanisms that maintain cerebral hemodynamic stability in healthy men and women. The visual stimulation‐evoked CBFV of the PCA was significantly increased compared to that during rest, confirming the activation of NVC. Men and women have similar functions in PCA dCA and NCV. Taking the megacity of Beijing as an example, a short‐time Fourier transform (STFT) method was employed to extract the multi‐timescale evolution pattern of the canopy urban heat island intensity (CUHII) during 2000–2020. The STFT of CUHII showed a close relationship between the evolution of the CUHII in Beijing and the background meteorological forcing at intra‐annual, weather and intra‐daily scales. The intra‐annual‐scale spectrum of CUHII exhibited an increasing trend with obvious seasonal variation of the canopy urban heat island (CUHI). The intra‐daily‐scale spectrum of CUHII showed an increasing trend with the nighttime CUHI developing faster. Increasing Western Pacific Subtropical High intensity can enhance the seasonal and diurnal fluctuations of CUHII. The weather‐scale spectrum of CUHII is controlled by weather system evolution, showing that the frequency of cold/heat waves (CWs/HWs) in Beijing was significantly negatively correlated with the weather‐scale spectral intensity of the CUHII. CWs and HWs can increase the CUHII for a long duration. Background: The optimal systemic treatment for pulmonary large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) remains controversial, and recent advances in LCNEC molecular subtype classification have provided potential strategies for assisting in treatment decisions. Our study aimed to investigate the impact of treatment regimens, molecular subtypes and their concordance on clinical outcomes of patients diagnosed with LCNEC. Patients and Methods: All patients diagnosed with advanced pulmonary LCNEC in Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) between January 2000 and October 2021 were enrolled in this retrospective study. The tumor samples were collected and sequenced using a tumor-specific gene panel, while clinical information was retrieved from the medical records system. The survival and therapeutic response were analyzed and compared between different subgroups classified by treatment regimen (SCLC or NSCLC-based), molecular subtype (type I or II) or the combination. Results: In univariate subgroup analysis categorized only by treatment regimen or molecular subtype, there were no differences identified in DCR, ORR, PFS, or OS. Nevertheless, the group with consistent treatment regimen and molecular subtype exhibited significantly longer OS than that of the inconsistent group (median OS 37.7 vs. 8.3months; p=0.046). Particularly, the OS of patients with type II LCNEC treated with SCLC-based regimen was significantly prolonged than that of others (median 37.7 vs. 10.5months; p=0.039). Conclusions: Collectively, our study revealed the clinical outcomes of different treatment regimens for LCNEC patients highly depend on their molecular subtypes, highlighting the need for sequencing-guided therapy. The continuous growth in the number of electric vehicles (EVs) places higher demands on public charging station (PCS) planning. This study proposes a PCS locating and sizing method based on the discrete distribution of EV charging demand. First, the distribution of EV charging demand is predicted by the distribution of gas station sales, functional areas, and population density. Next, a method of determining the PCS capacity based on the distribution of the charging demand is given. Then, the PCS locating and sizing model with the goal of minimising the total social cost is established, and the particle swarm optimisation algorithm is used to solve the problem. Finally, the method is verified by a case in Beijing. The results show that after obtaining several convenient parameters and using a simple algorithm calculation, this method can effectively reduce the construction and operation costs of PCSs and give full play to the social benefits of PCSs. Similar ramp‐like structures exist in the time variations of surface PM 2.5 accumulation during the four different heavy haze pollution processes in Beijing, from 3 November 2017 to 15 January 2018. Based on the ultrasonic anemometer observations at seven different altitudes on a 325 m tower, it is shown that turbulence momentum flux exchanges between different altitudes were very weak during the ramp period of PM 2.5 concentration. Turbulence at the higher altitude associated with strong wind shear, occasionally mixed downward toward the surface, showing upside‐down transportation of turbulent kinetic energy (TKE), especially during the rapid removal stage of the pollution. This was different from the traditional upward TKE transportation above the surface. Vertical distribution of nondimensionalized standard deviation of the horizontal velocity, vertical velocity, and potential temperature in the stable boundary layer within the ramp‐like structure show obvious "z‐less" similarity, independent of z, and almost equal to constants (σu/ u*l∼ 3.9, σw/ u*l∼ 1.52, and σθ/ T*∼ 3.96). Plain Language Summary: More and more attention has been paid to the stable boundary layer (SBL) caused by the persistent stagnant weather conditions; however, little research has been done on the turbulence effects of the whole SBL under heavy pollution conditions, mainly due to the lack of vertical gradient measurements of turbulence. The time variations characteristics of surface PM 2.5 concentration of some typical persistent stagnant weather days (also severe haze days) in Beijing area present similar ramp‐like structures, that is, PM 2.5 accumulated slowly from the background low level to the highest level, and then declined rapidly by strong wind. The vertical profiles show that turbulence momentum flux exchanges between the upper and lower layers were very weak, but turbulence at the high altitude occasionally mixed downward toward the surface, showing upside‐down boundary layers, especially during the rapid declining stage of the pollution. This was different from the traditional SBL characterized by the upward turbulence energy transportation above the urban canopy. Vertical profiles of nondimensionalized parameters in the SBL within the ramp‐like structure satisfy the "z‐less" similarity, independent of height z; equal to constants. The heterogeneous hydrolysis of dinitrogen pentoxide (N2O5) is an important pathway in nitrate formation; however, its formation rate and relative contribution to total particulate nitrate (pNO3‐ ${{\text{pNO}}_{3}}^{\mbox{-}}$) are highly variable. Here we report that nocturnal pNO3‐ ${{\text{pNO}}_{3}}^{\mbox{-}}$ formation via N2O5 hydrolysis is dependent on the regime defined by the ratio of NO2 to O3. Nocturnal pNO3‐ ${{\text{pNO}}_{3}}^{\mbox{-}}$ formation via N2O5 hydrolysis is suppressed in an O3‐limited regime but enhanced in a NO2‐limited regime. The results have crucial implications for effective control of nitrate pollution in the future. An exclusive decrease in NO2 will decrease nocturnal pNO3‐ ${{\text{pNO}}_{3}}^{\mbox{-}}$ formation in a NO2‐limited regime but may be less effective or even increase nocturnal pNO3‐ ${{\text{pNO}}_{3}}^{\mbox{-}}$ formation in an O3‐limited regime. Station parking accuracy is an important indicator for the automatic control of high‐speed trains; however, it is subject to many influencing factors, such as the characteristics of high nonlinearity and large time delays in the train control model, time‐variant humidity, and uncertain weather conditions, leading to unsatisfying performance with existing feedback control algorithms. This study first proposes an intelligent train stopping control approach based on deep learning for high‐speed railways. By collecting a large amount of historical train operation data from the Beijing–Shenyang high‐speed railway, three data‐driven models are developed for train stopping control. The first model is based on a deep‐layered feedforward neural network (DNN), which predicts the exact train stopping position with dynamic train running states (position, velocity etc.) as input. Taking advantage of the physical train control models used in practice, the DNN to a convolutional neural network (CNN) is then improved by customizing the convolutional layers of the CNN. To overcome the issues arising from the incompleteness of data samples, a few‐shot convolutional neural network (FSCNN) is further developed to enhance the prediction performance of the CNN. Compared with that of the current method used in practice, the simulation experiments show that the train station parking error can be decreased by 38.6%, 42.8%, and 49.2% by our developed DNN, CNN, and FSCNN, respectively. This paper studies rural land value appreciation and the wealth redistribution effects of China's dual land system, taking Beijing as a case study. We propose a robust method to estimate the land value gap between the land granting price paid by the developer and the rural resident's compensation for the expropriated land. The study shows that the land value gap manifests dramatic variability. While, on average, expropriation charges amount to 15 per cent of the estimated market value of land, this share is under 5 per cent in about a quarter of all rural expropriation cases. The land value gap shows significant and positive correlation with market prices and the intended use for the land, and significant evidence of spatial dependence and heterogeneity. Background In the post-pandemic period, pandemic (H1N1) 2009 virus was expected to circulate seasonally and was introduced into trivalent influenza vaccine during 2010/2011 season in the Northern Hemisphere. Objectives The aim of this study was to examine the evolution of herd immunity against pandemic (H1N1) 2009 virus in Beijing, China, during 2010/2011 season and effectiveness of the 2010/2011 trivalent vaccine. Methods Two serological surveys were conducted before and after 2010/2011 season in Beijing. A case-control study was used to investigate vaccine effectiveness against influenza-like illness (ILI) and lower respiratory tract infection (LRI). Results A total of 4509 and 4543 subjects participated in the pre- and post-season surveys, respectively. The standardized seroprevalence of pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza increased from 22·1% pre-season to 24·3% post-season ( P < 0·001). Significant elevation in seroprevalence appeared in the ≥60 years age-group ( P < 0·001), but not in others. The 2010/2011 trivalent vaccine contributed to the higher post-seasonal seroprevalence in unvaccinated individuals ( P = 0·024), but not in those vaccinated with monovalent pandemic vaccine ( P = 0·205), as well as in those without prior immunity versus those with immunity. The adjusted effectiveness of the 2010/2011 trivalent vaccine was 79% protection against ILI (95% CI, 61-89%) and 95% against LRI (95% CI: 59-99%). Conclusions A slight increase in herd immunity against pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza was observed in Beijing, China, during the 2010/2011 season. Prior vaccination and immunity had a suppressive impact on immune response toward this novel influenza virus, elicited by 2010/2011 trivalent vaccine. We compared the efficacy of medical masks, N95 respirators (fit tested and non fit tested), in health care workers (HCWs). A cluster randomized clinical trial (RCT) of 1441 HCWs in 15 Beijing hospitals was performed during the 2008/2009 winter. Participants wore masks or respirators during the entire work shift for 4 weeks. Outcomes included clinical respiratory illness (CRI), influenza-like illness (ILI), laboratory-confirmed respiratory virus infection and influenza. A convenience no-mask/respirator group of 481 health workers from nine hospitals was compared. The rates of CRI (3·9% versus 6·7%), ILI (0·3% versus 0·6%), laboratory-confirmed respiratory virus (1·4% versus 2·6%) and influenza (0·3% versus 1%) infection were consistently lower for the N95 group compared to medical masks. By intention-to-treat analysis, when P values were adjusted for clustering, non-fit-tested N95 respirators were significantly more protective than medical masks against CRI, but no other outcomes were significant. The rates of all outcomes were higher in the convenience no-mask group compared to the intervention arms. There was no significant difference in outcomes between the N95 arms with and without fit testing. Rates of fit test failure were low. In a post hoc analysis adjusted for potential confounders, N95 masks and hospital level were significant, but medical masks, vaccination, handwashing and high-risk procedures were not. Rates of infection in the medical mask group were double that in the N95 group. A benefit of respirators is suggested but would need to be confirmed by a larger trial, as this study may have been underpowered. The finding on fit testing is specific to the type of respirator used in the study and cannot be generalized to other respirators. This study investigates spatial dependence and mechanisms of regional development in Greater Beijing, China by employing spatial statistical techniques. We have detected positive, strengthening global spatial autocorrelation from 1978 to 2001, and found such strengthening is the result of newly formed/extended clusters in the area. The local analysis recognizes local regimes of two-tier urban-rural spatial structure at the beginning of the reform period. While the urban-rural divide was lessening due to the reform, a north-south divide has emerged because of local natural conditions and development trajectories. Regarding mechanisms of regional development, ordinary least squares analysis is constrained by the existence of significant spatial autocorrelation among spatial units. Analytical results reveal that an error spatial regression model is a more appropriate alternative due to possible mismatch between boundaries of the underlying spatial process and the spatial units where data are organised. In 1995 and 2001, the signs of all the regression coefficients remained the same for both OLS and spatial models. However, their magnitude and significance change. Specifically, foreign direct investment and fixed-asset investment became less influential in the spatial model, while local government spending emerged as more influential. Mientras que la separación urbana-rural fue disminuyendo con la reforma, ha aparecido una separación norte-sur por condiciones naturales locales y trayectorias de desarrollo. Respecto de los mecanismos de desarrollo regional, el análisis de mínimos cuadrados ordinario (OLS) se ve restringido por la existencia de una autocorrelación espacial significativa entre unidades espaciales. Los resultados de análisis revelan que un modelo de regresión del error espacial es una alternativa más apropiada debido a una posible disparidad entre los límites del proceso espacial subyacente y las unidades espaciales donde están organizados los datos. Quantifying spatial patterns of species richness and determining the processes that give rise to these patterns are core problems in biodiversity theory. The aim of the present paper was to more accurately detect patterns of vascular species richness at different scales along altitudinal gradients in order to further our understanding of biodiversity patterns and to facilitate studies on relationships between biodiversity and environmental factors. Species richness patterns of total vascular plants species, including trees, shrubs, and herbs, were measured along an altitudinal gradient on one transect on a shady slope in the Dongling Mountains, near Beijing, China. Direct gradient analysis, regression analysis, and geostatistics were applied to describe the spatial patterns of species richness. We found that total vascular species richness did not exhibit a linear pattern of change with altitude, although species groups with different ecological features showed strong elevational patterns different from total species richness. In addition to total vascular plants, analysis of trees, shrubs, and herbs demonstrated remarkable hierarchical structures of species richness with altitude (i.e. patchy structures at small scales and gradients at large scales). Species richness for trees and shrubs had similar spatial characteristics at different scales, but differed from herbs. These results indicated that species groups with similar ecological features exhibit similar biodiversity patterns with altitude, and studies of biodiversity based on species groups with similar ecological properties or life forms would advance our understanding of variations in species diversity. Furthermore, the gradients or trends appeared to be due mainly to local variations in species richness means with altitude. We also found that the range of spatial scale dependencies of species richness for total vascular plants, trees, shrubs, and herbs was relatively large. Thus, to detect the relationships between species richness with environmental factors along altitudinal gradients, it was necessary to quantify the scale dependencies of environmental factors in the sampling design or when establishing non-linear models. How does globalization unfold in the process of urban development? Rather than examine the impact of globalization on the city as if the former were independent of and superimposed on the latter, this paper aims to address how globalization can be imagined, pursued and exploited in the process of local growth. Through examining the emergence of Western architectural motifs in a late socialist capital, Beijing, it is shown that transplanting cityscapes is a conscious action by developers to exploit globalization and thereby overcome the constraints of local markets. Rail transit has many advantages, such as large passenger capacity, convenience, safety, and environmental protection, making it the preferred travel mode for most passengers. Deep learning has become an effective method for short‐term rail passenger flow prediction. A deep learning model which combines a graph convolutional network and a three‐dimensional Convolutional Neural Network improved by a residual module and an attention mechanism (ARConv‐CGN) is proposed. First, historical passenger inflow and outflow data are aggregated into three patterns: recent pattern, daily pattern, and weekly pattern separately. The GCN is applied to capture the spatiotemporal and topological information of passenger flows in each pattern. Second, a three‐dimensional convolutional neural network is used to deeply integrate three patterns of passenger flow information. Additionally, a residual module is used to increase the number of neural network layers and prevent the gradient of the deep neural network from disappearing. Finally, an attention mechanism is also introduced to adjust the importance of passenger flow in different pattern, so that improving the performance of the model. Training with passenger flow data from automatic fare collection on weekdays in Beijing and Xiamen provides a good demonstration of the superiority of ARConv‐CGN in metro passenger flow forecasting. It is important for territorial spatial planning to master meteorological disaster risk under the conditions of climate change and then carry out risk adaptation planning according to local conditions. Taking Beijing, a large city in China, as an example, a meteorological disaster risk assessment model was established based on the framework of hazard factors, disaster‐bearing body exposure, and vulnerability of underlying surface. Combined with 11 years of observation data from 293 high‐density weather stations, the rainstorm and high‐temperature risks of urban, agriculture, and ecological spaces were studied. The results show that (1) rainstorms and high‐temperature are mainly distributed in the built‐up areas of plain towns, which are the climate risk factors that need to be considered. (2) The central city of Beijing is at a high risk of rainstorms and high temperature, indicating that the underlying surface and disaster‐bearing body are highly vulnerable to meteorological disasters. (3) In suburbs with agricultural land, there is a certain rainstorm risk in Fangshan and Daxing districts, and a risk of high temperatures in the southern part of Tongzhou and Daxing. (4) The risk of high temperatures in the ecological space (eco‐zone) is relatively low, but the rainstorm risk is relatively high in Pinggu and Miyun. On 20–22 July 2012, a severe rainstorm occurred in the Sichuan basin of Southwest China and in the Beijing area of North China. This rainstorm was related to the activities of a Tibetan Plateau vortex (TPV) and Southwest China vortex (SWCV). By using radiosonde, satellite brightness temperature, and NCEP_FNL data, we investigated the helicity characteristics nearly the vortexes and their effect on convection. Results showed that (1) strong precipitation in the Sichuan basin was mainly related to the interaction between the TPV and SWCV, while strong precipitation in the Beijing area was related to the northward movement of a cyclonic vortex caused by a split in the SWCV. (2) During the occurrence of the rainstorm, four mesoscale convection systems (MCSs) were observed. Their vertical structure showed a positive vorticity–negative divergence in the lower levels, and negative vorticity–positive divergence in the upper levels, accompanied by vertical upward movement. This was an important factor in the development and maintenance of MCSs, as well as one of the mechanisms for producing heavy precipitation. On this basis, we further discussed the effect of helicity on the MCSs in the atmospheric environment with rotational characteristics. Results showed that the increase in negative water vapour helicity and storm‐relative helicity were more likely to cause a strong development of MCSs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: We aimed to clarify the association between air pollution and hospital admissions for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and mortality in Beijing, China. Methods: In this retrospective study, we recruited 510 COPD patients from 1 January 2006 to 31 December 2009. The patient data were obtained from the electronic medical records of Peking University Third Hospital in Beijing. Air pollution and meteorological data were obtained from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Monthly COPD hospital admissions, mortality and air pollution data were analysed using Poisson regression in generalised additive models adjusted for mean temperature, pressure and relative humidity. Results: There were positive correlations between sulfur dioxide (SO2), particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter ≤ 10 μm (PM10) and COPD hospital admissions in the single‐pollutant model. An increase of 10 μg/m3 in SO2 and PM10 were associated with an increase of 4.053% (95% CI: 1.470–5.179%) and 1.401% (95%CI: 0.6656–1.850%) in COPD hospital admissions. In the multiple‐pollutant model [SO2 and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) combinations], there was only a positive correlation between SO2 and COPD hospital admissions. An increase of 10 μg/m3 in SO2 were associated with an increase of 1.916% (95% CI: 1.118–4.286%) in COPD hospital admissions. There was no correlation between three pollutant combinations and COPD hospital admissions. We did not find correlations between air pollution and COPD mortality in either single‐ or multiple‐pollutant models. Background: The ability of lung cancer screening to manage pulmonary nodules was limited because of the high false‐positive rate in the current mainstream screening method, low‐dose computed tomography (LDCT). We aimed to reduce overdiagnosis in Chinese population. Methods: Lung cancer risk prediction models were constructed using data from a population‐based cohort in China. Independent clinical data from two programs performed in Beijing and Shandong, respectively, were used as the external validation set. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the probability of lung cancer incidence in the whole population and in smokers and nonsmokers. Results: In our cohort, 1,016,740 participants were enrolled between 2013 and 2018. Of 79,581 who received LDCT screening, 5165 participants with suspected pulmonary nodules were allocated into the training set, of which, 149 lung cancer cases were diagnosed. In the validation set, 1815 patients were included, and 800 developed lung cancer. The ages of patients and radiologic factors of nodules (calcification, density, mean diameter, edge, and pleural involvement) were included in our model. The area under the curve (AUC) values of the model were 0.868 (95% CI: 0.839–0.894) in the training set and 0.751 (95% CI: 0.727–0.774) in the validation set. The sensitivity and specificity were 70.5% and 70.9%, respectively, which could reduce the 68.8% false‐positive rate in simulated LDCT screening. There was no substantial difference between smokers' and nonsmokers' prediction models. Conclusion: Our models could facilitate the diagnosis of suspected pulmonary nodules, effectively reducing the false‐positive rate of LDCT for lung cancer screening. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Attracting more travellers to shift towards green modes plays a significant role in sustainable transportation development. Soft transport interventions are important strategies for facilitating voluntary travel behaviour change. This study investigates the effects of two soft transport interventions, information intervention and public transport service improvement, on heterogeneous traveller groups' behaviour change. Beijing, China was selected as the case study site. Firstly, three heterogenous traveller groups were identified based on latent class cluster analysis: Group A (20.4%, travel in low‐frequency and prefer multimode), Group B (30.3%, travel in middle‐frequency and prefer the car) and Group C (49.3%, travel in high frequency and prefer green modes). Then, latent class choice models under two transport interventions were established respectively. The findings indicate that information intervention decreases Group B's preference for car use and exclusion of bicycles. Little effect is observed on travel behaviour change of Group A and C. Public transport service improvement significantly reduces car use of Group B and C. This study demonstrates a limited influence of information intervention on travel behaviour change and public transport service improvement is effective in achieving car use reduction.
