Abstract
The article discusses the economic condition of Canada during the 1990s and its means that have resolved some economic issues inflicted by the past. As claimed by most Canadians, the past five years since 1990 have been characterized by a positive change as far as their country's performance is concerned. The change is considered the effort by Finance Minister Michael Wilson who released a reform entitled "A New Direction for Canada: An Agenda for Economic Renewal," in November 8, 1984. Considering the country's well-run economic performance, it has been held that those aims by Wilson to reduce the budgetary deficit and change the role of the government in the economy have been realized.
