Abstract Objective Current studies have indicated that diabetes mellitus (DM) is highly prevalent in patients with cancer, but there is little research on consequences on the well‐being of patients during cancer treatment. This analysis evaluates the relationship between DM and patient‐reported outcomes (PRO) in patients with cancer, using a large and well‐characterized cohort. Methods This study utilized the Total Cancer Care protocol at the University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Institute. For this analysis, we integrated data from electronic health records, the Huntsman Cancer Registry, and routinely collected PRO questionnaires. We assessed the association between DM in patients with cancer and PRO scores for anxiety, depression, fatigue, pain interference, and physical function using multiple linear regression and t‐tests. Results The final cohort comprised 3512 patients with cancer, with a mean age of 57.8 years at cancer diagnosis. Of all patients, 49.1% (n = 1724) were female, with 82.0% (n = 2879) patients reporting PROs at least at one time point. Compared with patients who responded, nonresponders were more often female (p = 0.0035), less frequently non‐Hispanic White (p = 0.0058), and had a higher BMI (p = 0.0759). Abstract Background Early studies indicated that corticosteroids may limit the survival benefit from immunotherapy. We conducted this systematic review to evaluate the effect corticosteroids have on immunotherapy in patients with malignancy, when adjusted for potentially confounding effects of corticosteroids given for palliative indications. Methods Three electronic databases (PubMed, Embase and Medline) were searched on 1 February 2023. Studies that measured response or survival to immunotherapy in people receiving corticosteroids for non‐cancer indications compared to either no corticosteroids or corticosteroids for cancer‐related indications were included. Studies exclusively evaluating the effect of corticosteroids administered for immune‐related adverse events (irAE) were excluded to avoid immortal time bias. Pooled odds and hazard ratios with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated using a random effects model. Study heterogeneity was assessed using the I2 statistic, and publication bias was evaluated by funnel plot and Egger's regression model. Results Eight thousand four hundred and twenty‐six titles were identified on our search. Eight studies met our inclusion criteria for meta‐analysis. Administration of corticosteroids does not have a statistically significant effect on survival and response to immunotherapy when administered for non‐cancer‐related indications, with a pooled odds ratio for overall response rate 1.01 (95% CI 0.64–1.60); pooled hazard ratio (HR) for progression free survival 0.87 (95% CI 0.68–1.12); and pooled HR for overall survival 0.79 (95% CI 0.59–1.05). Conclusion This systematic review indicates that administration of corticosteroids does not affect response to immunotherapy nor survival outcomes, when removing confounding palliative corticosteroid indications. These results are limited by the retrospective nature of the studies included, small sample sizes, lack of information about corticosteroid dosing and the inclusion of irAE in two of the studies which could bias the results.

Abstract Background BRCA1:c.5017_5019del (p.His1673del) is a founder variant relatively frequent in Northern Italy. Despite previous suggestion of pathogenicity, variant classification in public databases is still conflicting, needing additional evidence. Methods Maximum likelihood penetrance of breast/ovarian and other cancer types was estimated using full pedigree data from 53 informative Italian families. The effect of the variant on BRCA1‐ABRAXAS1 interaction was assessed using a GFP‐fragment reassembly‐based PPI assay. Results were combined with additional data from multiple sources to classify the variant according to ACMG/AMP classification rules specified for BRCA1/2. Results Variant‐carriers displayed increased risk for ovarian cancer (HR = 33.0, 95% CI = 7.0–155.0; cumulative risk at age 70 = 27.6%, 95% CI = 12.6–40.0%) but not for breast cancer (HR = 0.7, 95% CI = 0.2–2.2). An increased risk of uterine cancer (HR = 8.0, 95% CI = 1.03–61.6) emerged, warranting further evaluation. Likelihood‐ratio in favor of pathogenicity was 98898642.82 under assumption of standard BRCA1 breast and ovarian penetrance, and 104240832.84 after excluding breast cancer diagnoses (based on penetrance results). Functional analysis demonstrated that the variant abrogates the BRCA1‐ABRAXAS1 binding, supporting the PS3 code assignment within the ACMG/AMP rule‐based model. Collectively, these findings allowed to classify the variant as pathogenic. Conclusion Pathogenicity of BRCA1:c.5017_5019del(p.His1673del) has been confirmed; however, breast cancer risk in Italian families is not increased, unlike in families from other countries and in carriers of most BRCA1 pathogenic variants. The knowledge of atypical risk profiles for this and other variants will pave the way for personalized management based on specific genotype.

Abstract Introduction Dual eligible beneficiaries are a vulnerable population who often experience inferior access to care and outcomes compared to non‐dual eligible beneficiaries. The Oncology Care Model (OCM) is an alternative payment model that aims to improve coordination and quality of care in beneficiaries receiving chemotherapy and thus may improve care for dual eligible beneficiaries with cancer. Methods We used 100% Medicare claims data from 2014 through 2019 and included beneficiaries with bladder, breast, esophageal, colorectal, kidney, lung, pancreatic, or prostate cancer receiving chemotherapy. We constructed multivariable difference‐in‐differences regression models to evaluate the effect of OCM participation on healthcare utilization and quality of care at the end‐of‐life among dual eligible beneficiaries. We also compared healthcare utilization and quality of care outcomes to non‐dual eligible beneficiaries. Results We identified 3,043,944 episodes of care among 1,260,892 unique Medicare beneficiaries. Ten percent of all beneficiaries (n = 126,758) were dual eligible and 64,087 (22%) of episodes among dual eligible patients were in an OCM participating practice. We noted no effect of OCM participation on healthcare utilization or end‐of‐life quality of care for dual eligible beneficiaries. However, we observed higher rates of hospitalization, emergency department visits, intensive care unit stays, and a lower number of office visits among dual eligible beneficiaries compared to non‐dual eligible beneficiaries. Conclusions Participation in OCM was not associated with improvements in quality of care or healthcare utilization for dual eligible beneficiaries. Dual eligible beneficiaries experience lower quality of care across several measures compared to non‐dual eligible beneficiaries. Focused policies and incentives may be necessary to address disparities within emerging health reforms.

Abstract Nocturnal hypertension is highly prevalent among Chinese and Asian populations, which is mainly attributed to high salt intake and high salt sensitivity. Nocturnal hypertension increases the risk of cardiovascular and all‐cause mortality, independent of daytime blood pressure (BP). However, it can usually be detected by 24‐h ambulatory BP monitoring, rather than routine office or home BP measurement, thus is often underdiagnosed in clinical practice. Currently, no specific guidance is available for the management of nocturnal hypertension in China or worldwide. Experts from the Chinese Hypertension League summarized the epidemiologic and pathophysiologic characteristics and clinical phenotype of nocturnal hypertension and provided consensus recommendations on optimal management of nocturnal hypertension, with the goal of maximally reducing the cardiovascular disease risks. In this consensus document, 24‐h ABPM is recommended for screening and diagnosis of nocturnal hypertension, especially in the elderly, patients with diabetes, chronic kidney diseases, obstructive sleep apnea and other conditions prone to high nocturnal BP. Lifestyle modifications including salt intake restriction, exercise, weight loss, sleep improvement, and mental stress relief are recommended. Long‐acting antihypertensive medications are preferred for nocturnal and 24‐h BP control. Some newly developed agents, renal denervation, and other device‐based therapy on nocturnal BP reduction are evaluated.

Abstract Background Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) underuse has been reported for skin cancers; however, actual performance rates have not been compared. The objective of this study was to investigate the SLNB performance rate in skin cancers covered by health insurance in Japan and compare it with that in breast cancer. Methods This was a retrospective study of the SLNB performance rate in SLNB‐eligible patients with breast or skin cancer from 2018 to 2019, utilizing a database linked to the Hospital‐Based Cancer Registry and Diagnosis Procedure Combination survey. Demographic and tumor characteristics were analyzed using logistic regression. Results A total of 71,652 patients were included in this study. SLNB was performed in 86.4% (57,904/67,036) of the patients with breast cancer, 44.7% (694/1552) with melanomas, 3.1% (89/2849) with squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs), and 13.5% (29/215) with Merkel cell carcinomas (MCCs). AbstractBackgroundDaratumumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody approved for the treatment of adult patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). Subcutaneous (SC) formulation proved to be non‐inferior in comparison with intravenous (IV) administration route. This study aimed at assessing the economic and time impact associated with the use of SC versus IV daratumumab in patients with RRMM from the perspective of the hematology center.MethodsThis was a 5‐month multicenter time‐and‐motion cross‐sectional micro‐costing study conducted in three Italian hematology centers among adult patients diagnosed with RRMM with ongoing treatment with IV or SC daratumumab. Measurements were performed by an ad hoc App. ResultsNineteen (20%) IV and 76 (80%) SC administration procedures were measured. Patients spent a mean of 4.85 ± 0.91 or 1.08 ± 0.56 h in the hematology center to receive IV or SC daratumumab, respectively. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) spent a mean of 49.38 ± 16.13 and 20.37 ± 7.88 min of active working time to manage IV and SC administrations, respectively. The infusion chair was occupied for a mean of 4.85 ± 0.91 and 0.99 ± 0.55 h during IV or SC administration, respectively. On average, considering the costs due to HCP and chair time, materials, and overhead costs, every IV and SC administration costed €80.33 and 34.90, respectively. ConclusionsIn conclusion, as compared with IV administration, SC daratumumab was associated with 78%, 59%, 80% savings in terms of patient time, HCP active working time, and infusion chair, respectively, and 56.6% budget savings.

Abstract Background Up to 70% of suspected Lynch syndrome patients harboring MMR deficient tumors lack identifiable germline pathogenic variants in MMR genes, being referred to as Lynch‐like syndrome (LLS). Previous studies have reported biallelic somatic MMR inactivation in a variable range of LLS‐associated tumors. Moreover, translating tumor testing results into patient management remains controversial. Our aim is to assess the challenges associated with the implementation of tumoral MMR gene testing in routine workflows. Methods Here, we present the clinical characterization of 229 LLS patients. MMR gene testing was performed in 39 available tumors, and results were analyzed using two variant allele frequency (VAF) thresholds (≥5% and ≥10%). Results and Discussion More biallelic somatic events were identified at VAF ≥ 5% than ≥10% (35.9% vs. 25.6%), although the rate of nonconcordant results regarding immunohistochemical pattern increased (30.8% vs. 20.5%). Interpretation difficulties question the current utility of the identification of MMR somatic hits in the diagnostic algorithm of suspected LS cases.

Abstract Background Given advances in the management of cancer, it is increasingly important for clinicians to appropriately manage the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) among cancer survivors. It is unclear whether CVD risk is increased among cancer survivors overall, and there is inconsistency in evidence to date about CVD incidence and mortality by cancer type. Methods Patients aged 30‐74 years entered an open cohort study at the time of first CVD risk assessment, between 2004 and 2018, in primary care in New Zealand. Patients with established CVD or cancer within 2 years prior to study entry were excluded. Cancer diagnosis (1995–2016) was determined from a national cancer registry. Cause‐specific hazard models were used to examine the association between history of cancer and two outcomes: (1) CVD‐related hospitalization and/or death and (2) CVD death. Results The study included 446,384 patients, of whom 14,263 (3.2%) were cancer survivors. Risk of CVD hospitalization and/or death was increased among cancer survivors compared with patients without cancer at cohort entry (multivariable‐adjusted hazard ratio, mHR, 1.11, 95% CI 1.05‐1.18), more so for CVD death (1.31, 1.14‐1.52). Risk of CVD hospitalization and/or death was increased in patients with myeloma (2.66, 1.60‐4.42), lung cancer (2.19, 1.48‐3.24) and non‐Hodgkin lymphoma (1.90, 1.42‐2.54), but not for some cancers (e.g., colorectal, 0.87, 0.71‐1.06). Risk of CVD death was increased in several cancer types including melanoma (1.73, 1.25‐2.38) and breast cancer (1.56, 1.16‐2.11). Conclusion CVD risk management needs to be prioritized among cancer survivors overall, and particularly in those with myeloma, lung cancer and non‐Hodgkin lymphoma given consistent evidence of increased risk.

Abstract Background Opioids are a mainstay in pain control for oncologic surgery. The objective of this systematic review is to evaluate the associations of perioperative opioid use with overall survival (OS) and disease‐free survival (DFS) in patients with resectable head and neck cancer (HNC). Methods A systematic review of PubMed, SCOPUS, and CINAHL between 2000 and 2022 was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses guidelines. Studies investigating perioperative opioid use for patients with HNC undergoing surgical resection and its association with OS and DFS were included. Results Three thousand three hundred seventy‐eight studies met initial inclusion criteria, and three studies representing 562 patients (intraoperative opioids, n = 463; postoperative opioids, n = 99) met final exclusion criteria. One study identified that high intraoperative opioid requirement in oral cancer surgery was associated with decreased OS (HR = 1.77, 95% CI 0.995–3.149) but was not an independent predictor of decreased DFS. Another study found that increased intraoperative opioid requirements in treating laryngeal cancer was demonstrated to have a weak but statistically significant inverse relationship with DFS (HR = 1.001, p = 0.02) and OS (HR = 1.001, p = 0.02). The last study identified that patients with chronic opioid after resection of oral cavity cancer had decreased DFS (HR = 2.7, 95% CI 1.1–6.6) compared to those who were not chronically using opioids postoperatively. Conclusion An association may exist between perioperative opioid use and OS and DFS in patients with resectable HNC. Additional investigation is required to further delineate this relationship and promote appropriate stewardship of opioid use with adjunctive nonopioid analgesic regimens.

Abstract Background The MISSION and CHOICE Acts expanded the Veterans Health Administration's (VA) capacity to purchase immunotherapy services for VA patients from community‐based providers. Our objective was to identify predictors of community‐based immunotherapy treatment, and assess differences in cost and utilization across community treatment settings METHODS We examined claims for 21,257 patients who started immunotherapy treatment between 2015 and 2020. We assessed growth in VA community‐based immunotherapy care, predictors of community‐based immunotherapy treatment using multivariable logistic regression based on patients' sociodemographic and clinical characteristics. We compared utilization and costs among those who received community‐based immunotherapy services in hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs) versus physician office settings (POs). Results The proportion of community‐based immunotherapy in the VA increased from 5.3% in 2015 to 32.1% in 2020, with total annual costs of immunotherapy growing from $6.1 million to $187 million. Older, married, and rural patients and those with more comorbidities were more likely than younger, single, or urban patients to be treated in the community. Black patients were more likely to be treated in the VA. Respiratory Cancer was the most common cancer type in both settings. Among community immunotherapy patients, we observed no meaningful differences in the number of units administered, the unit drug costs, or the cost per immunotherapy visit between POs and HOPDs. Conclusion Drug costs did not differ widely across HOPDs and POs among VA patients who receive community‐based immunotherapy.

Abstract Objective To evaluate the effect of a theory‐based behavioral intervention delivered by genetic counselors on the uptake of risk‐reducing salpingo‐oophorectomy (RRSO) at 12 and 24 months by women with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 pathogenic variant (PV) compared to women who received usual care. Methods In this two‐arm, multi‐site randomized controlled trial participants were randomized to receive a theoretically‐guided behavioral telephone intervention or usual care. Outcome data were collected at 12 and 24 months. Participants in the usual care arm were offered the intervention after 12 months. Results Data on 107 participants were included in the analysis. There was no significant difference in the proportion of women who had a RRSO by 1 year (28.6%‐ intervention; 22.9%‐ usual care (p = 0.54)). Abstract Background Pediatric Early Warning Systems (PEWS) assist early detection of clinical deterioration in hospitalized children with cancer. Relevant to successful PEWS implementation, the “stages of change” model characterizes stakeholder support for PEWS based on willingness and effort to adopt the new practice. Methods At five resource‐limited pediatric oncology centers in Latin America, semi‐structured interviews were conducted with 71 hospital staff involved in PEWS implementation. Purposive sampling was used to select centers requiring variable time to complete PEWS implementation, with low‐barrier centers (3–4 months) and high‐barrier centers (10–11 months). Interviews were conducted in Spanish, professionally transcribed, and translated into English. Thematic content analysis explored “stage of change” with constant comparative analysis across stakeholder types and study sites. Results Participants identified six interventions (training, incentives, participation, evidence, persuasion, and modeling) and two policies (environmental planning and mandates) as effective strategies used by implementation leaders to promote stakeholder progression through stages of change. Key approaches involved presentation of evidence demonstrating PEWS effectiveness, persuasion and incentives addressing specific stakeholder interests, enthusiastic individuals serving as models for others, and policies enforced by hospital directors facilitating habitual PEWS use. Effective engagement targeted hospital directors during early implementation phases to provide programmatic legitimacy for clinical staff. Conclusion This study identifies strategies to promote adoption and maintained use of PEWS, highlighting the importance of tailoring implementation strategies to the motivations of each stakeholder type. These findings can guide efforts to implement PEWS and other evidence‐based practices that improve childhood cancer outcomes in resource‐limited hospitals.

Abstract Background Undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes (T2D) has been associated with advanced stage cancer at diagnosis, higher mortality, and lower long‐term all‐cause survival. This was a RCT pilot study to examine the feasibility of a nurse‐led T2D intervention for adults with newly diagnosed cancer (≤3 months), and T2D, undiagnosed or untreated with medication, conducted at an outpatient oncology clinic affiliated with a large academic institution. Methods Participants needed to meet the eligibility criteria including a HbA1c level between 6.5% and 9.9%. Randomization was 1:1 to a 3‐month intervention that consisted of nursing‐led diabetes education and immediate initiation of metformin versus referral to primary care for usual care (control). Results Three hundred and seventy nine patients were screened using EHR, 55 agreed to participate, and 3 had eligible HbA1c levels and were randomized in the study. Primary reasons for study exclusion included life expectancy ≤2 years (16.9%), current use or inability to tolerate metformin (14.8%), and abnormal labs that contraindicated metformin use (13.9%). Conclusion This study was not feasible due to recruitment inefficiencies, but acceptable to all who qualified.

Abstract Background Multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTMs), where treatment recommendations are discussed and agreed, are fundamental to effective cancer care. The increasing volume and complexity of caseloads has led to the need to transform MDTM pathways to improve efficiency and allow sufficient time for discussion of complex cases. Understanding of current functioning and inefficiencies is required to inform such transformation. Methods A mixed‐methods observational study of all lung cancer MDTMs in one UK cancer network over 12 weeks (n = 8 MDTs, 96 MDT meetings). Data were collected on meeting attendance and on each discussed case using a validated MDT tool. Semi‐structured interviews were conducted with a range of MDT members and cancer service managers to gain understanding of perceived influences on the efficiency of MDTMs. Results In total, 1671 case discussions were observed. Models of MDT working, including referral and diagnostic pathway management, varied within the network. Attendance was quorate in only 21% of the observed MDTMs, most often lacking palliative care specialists. Over a third (37%) of observed cases were repeat discussions pre‐diagnosis. Treatment recommendations were agreed in 48% of case discussions but deferred for a quarter (24%) of discussed cases, most commonly due to awaiting results. Information about patients' fitness for treatment and/or performance status score was available for 60% of cases discussed overall (30%–75% by MDT). Interviews (n = 56) identified addressing clinical and administrative workforce shortages, less reliance on the MDTM for pre‐diagnostic decision‐making and better availability of key clinical information about patients discussed in the MDTM as factors critical to improved MDT function. Conclusions Inefficiencies were prevalent in all MDTMs; improvements would require an individualised approach due to the variation in ways of working. Local, regional and national support is needed for lung MDTs to develop their diagnostic workforce and facilities, and clinical and administrative resource.

Abstract Introduction An estimated 39,010 Indiana residents were diagnosed with cancer in 2021. To address the cancer burden, Project ECHO (Extension Community Healthcare Outcomes) was launched in 2019 in Indiana to build specialty healthcare capacity among non‐specialists. Due to positive outcomes from the pilot year, the Cancer Prevention, Screening, and Survivorship ECHO was implemented for a second year. The purpose of this study was to measure the participation and regional impact of this ECHO. Methods ECHO sessions occurred twice monthly from October 2020 to October 2021. Changes were implemented in response to feedback from the pilot year, including making the curriculum more practical for learners and adding accreditation opportunities. Participant information and feedback was extracted from electronic surveys for review. Results There were 24 ECHO sessions with 213 unique participants, increased from 140 unique participants in the pilot year. An average of 23.5 individuals attended each session, increased from 15.5 individuals per session. Enrolled participants served in a diverse set of roles and represented 247 zip codes, 30 Indiana counties, and 32 states across the United States, each of which increased from the pilot year. Discussion In this second year, this ECHO expanded to reach more participants with increased attendance and a more diverse distribution of roles within healthcare, which may be attributed to feedback‐driven curriculum design. Cancer care is multi‐disciplinary, with health educators, nurses, and administrators, each acting within the cancer care continuum. As a result, this ECHO has been adapted to serve an increasingly broad distribution of professionals. Conclusion The second year of the Cancer Prevention, Screening, and Survivorship ECHO displayed increased overall enrollment and participation, greater diversity among participant roles, and a wider reach across Indiana and the United States.

Abstract Background Childhood cancer survivors (CCSs) have an increased risk of developing chronic health conditions. Evidence suggests that poor health behaviors further increase health risks. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) involved in survivorship care have a key role in providing health behavior support (HBS) but can feel limited in their ability to do so. This study aims to explore European HCPs perceived facilitators and barriers to providing HBS to CCSs. Methods Five focus groups with 30 HCPs from survivorship care clinics across Europe were conducted. Topic guides were informed by the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) to capture domains that may influence provision of HBS. Focus groups were analyzed with thematic analysis. Transcripts were inductively coded, after which axial coding was applied to organize codes into categories. Finally, categories were mapped onto the TDF domains. Results Nine TDF domains were identified in the data. The most commonly reported TDF domains were “Knowledge”, “Skills”, and “Environmental context and resources”. HCPs indicated that their lack of knowledge of the association between late effects and health behaviors, besides time restrictions, were barriers to HBS. Facilitators for HBS included possession of skills needed to pass on health behavior information, good clinic organization, and an established network of HCPs. Conclusions This study identified education and training of HCPs as key opportunities to improve HBS. Survivorship care clinics should work towards establishing well‐integrated structured care with internal and external networks including HBS being part of routine care. Proper understanding of facilitators and barriers should lead to better survivorship care for CCSs.

Abstract Background Extended first‐line therapy (1LT) has improved clinical outcomes in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM). This retrospective study of NDMM patients evaluated the relationship between dose‐attenuation of 1LT and duration of therapy (DOT) and DOT on outcomes. Methods Adults with NDMM not undergoing stem cell transplant (SCT) from January 1, 2012 toMarch 31, 2018 from the Integrated Oncology Network were included; 300 were randomly selected for chart review. 1LT DOT, time to next treatment (TTNT), progression‐free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS) were estimated using Kaplan–Meier analysis. Marginal structural models evaluated relationships between DOT and TTNT, PFS, and OS at 2 years accounting for confounders and survival bias from the time‐dependent nature of DOT. Results Of 300 chart‐reviewed patients, 93 were excluded for incomplete data or meeting exclusion criteria. Among 207 NDMM patients, median age was 74 years; 146 (70.5%) did not receive dose‐attenuation during 1LT. Abstract Background Clinical interpretation of genetic test results is complicated by variants of uncertain significance (VUS) that have an unknown impact on health but can be clarified through reclassification. There is little empirical evidence regarding VUS reclassification in oncology care settings, including the prevalence and outcomes of reclassification, and racial/ethnic differences. Methods This was a retrospective analysis of persons with and without a personal history of cancer carrying VUS (with or without an accompanying pathogenic or likely pathogenic [P/LP] variant) in breast, ovarian, and colorectal cancer predisposition genes seen at four cancer care settings (in Texas, Florida, Ohio, and New Jersey) between 2013 and 2019. Abstract Background Anti‐PD1 checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) represent an established standard‐of‐care for patients with recurrent/metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (RMHNSCC). Landmark studies excluded patients with ECOG performance status (PS) ≥2; the benefit of ICI in this population is therefore unknown. Methods We retrospectively reviewed RMHNSCC patients who received 1+ dose of ICI at our institution between 2013 and 2019. Demographic and clinical data were obtained; the latter included objective response (ORR), toxicity, and any unplanned hospitalization (UH). Associations were explored using uni‐ and multivariate analysis. Overall survival (OS) was estimated using a Cox proportional hazards model; ORR, toxicity, and UH were evaluated with logistic regression. Results Of the 152 patients, 29 (19%) had an ECOG PS ≥2. Abstract Background Inflammatory responses from benign conditions can cause non‐cancer‐related elevations in tumor markers. The severe acute respiratory coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) induces a distinct viral inflammatory response, resulting in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19). Clinical data suggest carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 19–9 (CA 19–9), and cancer antigen 125 (CA 125) levels might rise in patients with COVID‐19. However, available data excludes cancer patients, so little is known about the effect of COVID‐19 on tumor markers among cancer patients. Methods We conducted a case series and identified patients with a positive SARS‐CoV‐2 PCR test, diagnosis of a solid tumor malignancy, and a CEA, CA 19–9, CA 125, or CA 27–29 laboratory test. Cancer patients with documented COVID‐19 infection and at least one pre‐ and two post‐infection tumor marker measurements were included. We abstracted the electronic health record for demographics, cancer diagnosis, treatment, evidence of cancer progression, date and severity of COVID‐19 infection, and tumor marker values. Results Seven patients were identified with a temporary elevation of tumor marker values during the post‐COVID‐19 period. Elevation in tumor marker occurred within 56 days of COVID‐19 infection for all patients. Tumor markers subsequently decreased at the second time point in the post‐infectious period among all patients. Conclusion We report temporary elevations of cancer tumor markers in the period surrounding COVID‐19 infection. To our knowledge this is the first report of this phenomenon in cancer patients and has implications for clinical management and future research.

Abstract Background The ALTER0203 clinical trial showed that anlotinib, a multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor, had antitumor effects on advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) after the failure of standard chemotherapy. We aimed to evaluate the real‐world efficacy and explore prognostic factors and treatment patterns of anlotinib in patients with advanced STS. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the data of patients with unresectable locally advanced or metastatic STS who received at least one dose of anlotinib from June 2018 to March 2021. The survival data were analyzed using the Kaplan–Meier method and compared using the log‐rank test. The Cox proportional hazards model was performed for multivariate analysis. Results A total of 209 patients were included. The median age was 48 (range 11–85) years. The median follow‐up, progression‐free survival, and overall survival were 18.7 months, 6.1 months [95% confidence interval (CI): 4.9–7.2], and 16.4 months (95% CI: 13.6–19.1), respectively. The objective response rate was 13.4%. Nutritional status, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status, and anlotinib treatment patterns (combination therapy or switch maintenance therapy vs. monotherapy) were significantly associated with progression‐free survival. Besides, pathological grade, nutritional status, ECOG performance status, and anlotinib treatment patterns were predictive of overall survival. Due to anlotinib‐related toxicity, 31 (14.8%) patients, and 25 (12.0%) patients experienced dose reduction and treatment discontinuation, respectively. Conclusion These findings confirmed the efficacy of anlotinib in patients with advanced STS in a real‐world setting. The patterns of anlotinib treatment deserve further exploration.

Abstract In adult patients, acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a rare hematological cancer with a cure rate below 50% and frequent relapses. With traditional therapies, patients with relapsed or refractory (R/R) ALL have a survival that may be measured in months; in these patients, inotuzumab ozogamicin (IO) is an effective therapy. IO was linked to increased risk of veno‐occlusive disease/sinusoid obstruction syndrome (VOD/SOS), liver injury, and various grade of liver‐related complications during clinical trials and real‐life settings; however, hepatologic monitoring protocol is not established in this population. In our institution, 21 patients who received IO (median of 6 doses of IO administered) for R/R ALL were prospectively followed for hepatologic surveillance, including clinical evaluation, ultrasonography, and liver stiffness measurement (LSM) biochemistry. After a median follow‐up of 17.2 months, two SOS events were reported (both after allogeneic transplant) as IO potentially related clinically relevant adverse event. Mild alterations were reported in almost the totality of patients and moderate‐severe liver biochemical alterations in a quarter of patients. Within biochemicals value, AST and ALP showed an augment related to IO administration. LSM linearly augmented for each IO course administered. Baseline LSM was related to liver‐related changes, especially with the severity of portal hypertension (PH)‐related complications. Pre‐transplant LSM was higher in patients receiving IO when compared with a control cohort. PH‐related complications were discovered in nearly 77% of patients, with clinically significant PH occurrence and development of ascites in 38% and 14%, respectively. This prospective experience constitutes the rationale to design a hepatologic monitoring program in patients receiving IO. LSM may be of pivotal importance in this program, constituting a rapid and effective screening that quantitatively correlates with liver alterations.

Abstract Background Controversy exists regarding the optimal sequence of chemotherapy among women with operable node‐negative breast cancers with high‐risk tumor biology. We evaluated national patterns of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) use among women with early‐stage HER2+, triple‐negative (TNBC), and high‐risk hormone receptor‐positive (HR+) invasive breast cancers. Methods Women ≥18 years with cT1‐2/cN0 HER2+, TNBC, or high recurrence risk score (≥31) HR+ invasive breast cancers who received chemotherapy were identified in the National Cancer Database (2010–2016). Cochran‐Armitage and logistic regression examined temporal trends and likelihood of undergoing NACT versus adjuvant chemotherapy based on patient age and molecular subtype. Results Overall, 96,622 patients met study criteria; 25% received NACT and 75% underwent surgery first, with comparable 5‐year estimates of overall survival (0.90, 95% CI 0.892–0.905 vs 0.91, 95% CI 0.907–0.913). The rising prevalence of cesarean sections, abortions, and other surgical interventions involving the uterus has led to an increased incidence of acquired uterine arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). These malformations primarily present as vaginal bleeding, which can significantly impair the quality of life for affected individuals and can pose life-threatening risks in severe instances. Currently, there exists considerable variability in the clinical manifestations, treatment indications, and outcomes associated with uterine AVMs, which substantially complicates clinical diagnosis and management. In this report, we present five cases of uterine AVM that developed following abortion and were treated at our institution. The patients underwent various treatment modalities, with all but one achieving a high rate of fertility preservation. Introduction: Active surveillance for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 (CIN2) has been implemented recently in many countries, including the Nordic countries. In Denmark, the only eligibility criterion for active surveillance for CIN2 is that the woman should be of reproductive age. With this study, we aimed to evaluate clinical and socioeconomic characteristics in women with CIN2 managed by active surveillance or large loop excision of the transformation zone (LLETZ) and to evaluate temporal changes in the clinical management of CIN2., Material and Methods: We conducted a Danish nationwide study using data from healthcare registries. All female residents aged 18-40 years, diagnosed with incident CIN2 from January 1, 1998, to February 29, 2020, were included. We collected data on age, index cytology result, year of CIN2 diagnosis, region of residence, civil status, HPV vaccination status, and socioeconomic position indicators. The variables were tabulated overall and by management group (active surveillance vs. LLETZ). To evaluate time trends, we used joinpoint regression to calculate the annual percentage change (APC), including 95% confidence intervals (CI)., Results: Of the 27 536 women with CIN2 included, 12 500 (45.4%) underwent active surveillance, and 15 036 (54.6%) underwent a LLETZ. Women undergoing active surveillance were younger, more often HPV-vaccinated, and more likely to have a normal/low-grade index cytology result than women undergoing LLETZ. Socioeconomic position indicators did not differ. Over time, the proportion of women undergoing active surveillance increased from 21.7% in 2004 to 73.6% in 2019 (APC 9.7, 95% CI 8.1-11.4). The proportion of women undergoing active surveillance aged <30 declined over time (APC -2.2, 95% CI -2.9 to -1.5). The proportion of women with normal/low-grade index cytology increased slightly to 51.6% in 2019 (APC 0.8, 95% CI 0.4-1.3)., Conclusions: The use of active surveillance for CIN2 has increased over the past two decades in Denmark. Abstract Background Although rare, cytomegalovirus (CMV) reactivation can be lethal in patients with cancer. However, the criteria for the prevention of cytomegalovirus reactivation during cancer treatment are unclear. This study aimed to identify factors associated with CMV reactivation in patients with esophageal cancer who were receiving chemoradiotherapy. Methods This retrospective study included esophageal cancer patients receiving definitive or palliative chemoradiotherapy during April 2013–March 2020. Patients with fever during chemoradiotherapy underwent a systemic work‐up to detect the primary focus of infection, and CMV antigenemia was assessed in cases of unidentifiable infection. Results Among 132 patients (80.3% male, median age 69 years [range, 39–86 years]), 124 received 5‐fluorouracil plus cisplatin and 8 received oxaliplatin–5‐fluorouracil–levofolinate chemotherapy. Overall, 19 patients had CMV reactivation, 37 had other infections, and 76 had no identified infection (groups 1, 2, and 3, respectively). Median minimum lymphocyte counts were 81.0/µl (interquartile range: 52.0–144.0/µl), 120.0/µl (81.0–162.5/µl), and 185.5/µl (120.5–328.0/µl) in groups 1, 2, and 3, respectively, with counts being significantly lower in groups 1 and 2 than in group 3 (p

Abstract Objectives Little is known about the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) on healthcare professional emotional health in pediatric hematology/oncology. Primary objective was to describe anxiety, depression, positive affect, and perceived stress among pediatric hematology/oncology healthcare professionals following a COVID‐19 outbreak. Secondary objectives were to compare these outcomes based on contact with a positive person, and to identify risk factors for worse outcomes. Materials and methods We included 272 healthcare professionals working with pediatric hematology/oncology patients. We determined whether respondents had direct or indirect contact with a COVID‐19‐positive individual and then measured outcomes using the Patient‐Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) depression, anxiety, and positive affect measures, and the Perceived Stress Scale. Results Among eligible respondents, 205 agreed to participate (response rate 75%). Sixty‐nine (33.7%) had contact with a COVID‐19‐positive person. PROMIS anxiety, depression, and positive affect scores were similar to the general United States population. Those who had contact with a COVID‐19‐positive individual did not have significantly different outcomes. In multiple regression, non‐physicians had significantly increased anxiety (nurses: p = 0.013), depression (nurses: p = 0.002, pharmacists: p = 0.038, and other profession: p = 0.021), and perceived stress (nurses: p = 0.002 and other profession: p = 0.011) when compared to physicians. Conclusions Pediatric hematology/oncology healthcare professionals had similar levels of anxiety, depression, and positive affect as the general population. Contact with a COVID‐19‐positive individual was not significantly associated with outcomes. Non‐physician healthcare professionals had more anxiety, depression, and perceived stress when compared to physicians. These findings may help to develop programs to support healthcare professional resilience.

Abstract Background In men with metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) with primarily bone metastases, radium‐223 (223Ra) improves overall survival (OS). However, the selection of 223Ra is not guided by specific validated clinicopathologic factors, and thus outcomes are heterogeneous. Patients and methods This retrospective survival analysis was performed in men with mCRPC treated with 223Ra at our cancer center. Demographics and disease characteristics were collected. OS was calculated using the Kaplan–Meier method (log‐rank). The potential prognostic factors were determined using both univariable (UVA) and multivariable analysis (MVA) (Cox‐regression) methods. Results In total, 150 patients with a median age of 74 years (52–93) received 223Ra between May 2015 and July 2018, and 58% had 6–20 bone metastases. Ninety‐four (63%) patients received >4 223Ra doses, and 56 (37%) received ≤4. The following pre‐treatment factors were analyzed (median [range]): eastern cooperative oncology group performance status (ECOG PS), (1 [0–3]); Albumin (ALB), (39 g/L [24–47]); alkaline phosphatase (ALP), (110 U/L [35–1633]); and prostate‐specific antigen (PSA), (49 µg/L [0.83–7238]). The median OS for all patients was 14.5 months (95% CI: 11.2–18). These factors were associated with poor survival outcomes in UVA and MVA: ALB 150 U/L, ECOG PS 2–3, and PSA >80 µg/L. By assigning one point for each of these factors, a prognostic model was developed, wherein three distinct risk groups were identified: good, 0–1 (n = 103); intermediate, 2 (n = 30); and poor risk, 3–4 points (n = 17). The impact of sex on pathophysiological processes, clinical presentation, treatment options, as well as outcomes of degenerative aortic stenosis remain poorly understood. Female patients are well represented in transfemoral aortic valve implantation (TAVI) trials and appear to derive favorable outcomes with TAVI. However, higher incidences of major bleeding, vascular complications, and stroke have been reported in women following TAVI. The anatomical characteristics and pathophysiological features of aortic stenosis in women might guide a tailored planning of the percutaneous approach. We highlight whether a sex‐based TAVI management strategy might impact on clinical outcomes. This review aimed to evaluate the impact of sex from diagnosis to treatment of degenerative aortic stenosis, discussing the latest evidence on epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, therapeutic options, and outcomes. Furthermore, we focused on technical sex‐oriented considerations in TAVI including the preprocedural screening, device selection, implantation strategy, and postprocedural management.

Abstract Background Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) is a life‐threatening infection occurring in patients receiving bendamustine. The poorly defined incidence, particularly when utilizing polymerase chain reaction (PCR)‐based diagnostic techniques, precipitates unclear prophylaxis recommendations. Our objective was to determine the cumulative incidence of PJP diagnosed by single copy target, non‐nested PCR in patients receiving bendamustine. Methods Patients were evaluated for PJP from initiation of bendamustine through 9 months after the last administration. The cumulative incidence of PJP was estimated using the Aalen–Johansen method. Cox proportional hazard models were used to demonstrate the strength of association between the independent variables and PJP risk. Results This single‐center, retrospective cohort included 486 adult patients receiving bendamustine from 1 January 2006 through 1 August 2019. Most patients received bendamustine‐based combination therapy (n = 461, 94.9%), and 225 (46.3%) patients completed six cycles. Rituximab was the most common concurrent agent (n = 431, 88.7%). The cumulative incidence of PJP was 1.7% (95% CI 0.8%–3.3%, at maximum follow‐up of 2.5 years), after the start of bendamustine (n = 8 PJP events overall). Prior stem cell transplant, prior chemotherapy within 1 year of bendamustine, and lack of concurrent chemotherapy were associated with the development of PJP in univariate analyses. Anti‐Pneumocystis prophylaxis was not significantly associated with a reduction in PJP compared to no prophylaxis (HR 0.37, 95% CI (0.05, 3.04), p = 0.36). Conclusions Our incidence of PJP below 3.5%, the conventional threshold for prophylaxis implementation, indicates routine anti‐Pneumocystis prophylaxis may not be necessary in this population. Factors indicating a high‐risk population for targeted prophylaxis require further investigation.

Abstract Purpose Though utilization of medical procedures has been shown to vary considerably across the United States, similar efforts to characterize variation in the delivery of radiation therapy (RT) procedures have not been forthcoming. Our aim was to characterize variation in the delivery of common RT procedures in the Medicare population. We hypothesized that delivery would vary significantly based on provider characteristics. Methods The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Physician and Other Supplier Public Use File was linked to the CMS Physician Compare (PC) database by physician NPI to identify and sum all treatment delivery charges submitted by individual radiation oncologists in the non‐facility‐based (NFB) setting in 2016. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was carried out to determine provider characteristics (gender, practice rurality, practice region, and years since graduation) that predicted for the delivery of 3D conformal RT (3DCRT), intensity modulated RT (IMRT), stereotactic body RT (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy, and high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy delivery in the Medicare patient population. The overall significance of categorical variables in the multivariable logistic regression model was assessed by the likelihood ratio test (LRT). Abstract Cancer‐related fatigue (CRF) is one of the most common chronic symptoms experienced by cancer patients. As moxibustion is a popular traditional therapy for managing fatigue, it can be an alternative strategy to treat CRF as well. Therefore, we rigorously designed a full‐scale, multicenter, assessor‐blinded, randomized controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of moxibustion treatment for CRF. Ninety‐six subjects suffering from CRF were recruited and randomly assigned to moxibustion group, sham moxibustion group, or usual care group. Both the moxibustion group and the sham group received moxibustion treatment for 8 weeks and the usual care group did not. Brief fatigue inventory (BFI) score and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy‐Fatigue score were used to assess CRF at baseline and weeks 5, 9, and 13. Questionnaires for the assessment of cognitive impairment, quality of life, and Cold–Heat and Deficiency–Excess patterns were also evaluated. Abstract Improved understanding of the current burden of hypertension, including awareness, treatment, and control, is needed to guide relevant preventative measures in Nigeria. A systematic search of studies on the epidemiology of hypertension in Nigeria, published on or after January 1990, was conducted. The authors employed random‐effects meta‐analysis on extracted crude hypertension prevalence, and awareness, treatment, and control rates. Using a meta‐regression model, overall hypertension cases in Nigeria in 1995 and 2020 were estimated. Fifty‐three studies (n = 78 949) met our selection criteria. Estimated crude prevalence of pre‐hypertension (120‐139/80‐89 mmHg) in Nigeria was 30.9% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 22.0%‐39.7%), and the crude prevalence of hypertension (≥140/90 mmHg) was 30.6% (95% CI: 27.3%‐34.0%). When adjusted for age, study period, and sample, absolute cases of hypertension increased by 540% among individuals aged ≥20 years from approximately 4.3 million individuals in 1995 (age‐adjusted prevalence 8.6%, 95% CI: 6.5‐10.7) to 27.5 million individuals with hypertension in 2020 (age‐adjusted prevalence 32.5%, 95% CI: 29.8‐35.3). The age‐adjusted prevalence was only significantly higher among men in 1995, with the gap between both sexes considerably narrowed in 2020. Only 29.0% of cases (95% CI: 19.7‐38.3) were aware of their hypertension, 12.0% (95% CI: 2.7‐21.2) were on treatment, and 2.8% (95% CI: 0.1‐5.7) had at‐goal blood pressure in 2020. Our study suggests that hypertension prevalence has substantially increased in Nigeria over the last two decades. Although more persons are aware of their hypertension status, clinical treatment and control rates, however, remain low. These estimates are relevant for clinical care, population, and policy response in Nigeria and across Africa.

Abstract Objective Molecular genetic etiologies in epilepsy have become better understood in recent years, creating important opportunities for precision medicine. Building on these advances, detailed studies of the complexities and outcomes of genetic testing for epilepsy can provide useful insights that inform and refine diagnostic approaches and illuminate the potential for precision medicine in epilepsy. Methods We used a multi‐gene next‐generation sequencing (NGS) panel with simultaneous sequence and exonic copy number variant detection to investigate up to 183 epilepsy‐related genes in 9769 individuals. Clinical variant interpretation was performed using a semi‐quantitative scoring system based on existing professional practice guidelines. Results Molecular genetic testing provided a diagnosis in 14.9%‐24.4% of individuals with epilepsy, depending on the NGS panel used. More than half of these diagnoses were in children younger than 5 years. Notably, the testing had possible precision medicine implications in 33% of individuals who received definitive diagnostic results. Only 30 genes provided 80% of molecular diagnoses. While most clinically significant findings were single‐nucleotide variants, ~15% were other types that are often challenging to detect with traditional methods. In addition to clinically significant variants, there were many others that initially had uncertain significance; reclassification of 1612 such variants with parental testing or other evidence contributed to 18.5% of diagnostic results overall and 6.1% of results with precision medicine implications. Significance Using an NGS gene panel with key high‐yield genes and robust analytic sensitivity as a first‐tier test early in the diagnostic process, especially for children younger than 5 years, can possibly enable precision medicine approaches in a significant number of individuals with epilepsy.

Umbilical cord cysts (UCCs)-cysts located in the umbilical cord that are derived from an abnormal embryonic development process-are typically an incidental discovery during prenatal ultrasound. It can be described as either a pseudocyst or a true UCC, which results from focal edema or degeneration of Wharton jelly or the remnants of embryonic development, respectively. Due to the relative rarity of the UCC, the clinical guidance of UCCs is not yet available. Background: People living with HIV (PLWH) and receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART) have a goal of achieving and maintaining viral suppression; however, the existence of PLWH that show events of low-level viremia (LLV) between 50 and 1000 copies/mL and with different virological consequences have been observed. Moreover, some reports indicate that LLV status can lead to residual immune activation and inflammation, leading to a higher occurrence of non-AIDS-defining events (nADEs) and other adverse clinical outcomes. Until now, however, published data have shown controversial results that hinder understanding of this phenomenon's actual cause(s) and origin(s). Abstract Objectives Patients with dementia have an increased 30‐day mortality after hip fracture. We investigated clinical management including time to surgery, out‐of‐hours admission and surgery, surgery on weekends, surgery volume per ward, and anesthesia technique for this excess mortality risk. Method This register‐ and population‐based study comprised 12,309 older adults (age 70+) admitted to hospital for a first‐time hip fracture in 2013–2014, of whom 11,318 underwent hip fracture surgery. Cox proportional hazards regression models were applied for the analysis. Results The overall postoperative 30‐day mortality was 11.4%. Patients with dementia had a 1.5 times increased mortality risk than those without (HR = 1.50 [95% CI 1.31–1.72]). We observed no time‐to‐surgery difference by patient dementia status; additionally, the excess mortality risk in patients with dementia could not be explained by the clinical management factors we examined. Conclusions Increased mortality in patients with dementia could not be explained by the measured preoperative clinical management. Suboptimal handling of postoperative complication and rehabilitation are to be investigated for their role in the witnessed increased mortality for patients with dementia.

Objective: This study examines the trends in the management of thyroid cancer and clinical outcomes in the Southwestern region of The Netherlands from 2010 to 2021, where a regional collaborative network has been implemented in January 2016., Study Design: Retrospective cohort study., Setting: This study encompasses all patients diagnosed with thyroid cancer of any subtype between January 2010 and June 2021 in 10 collaborating hospitals in the Southwestern region of The Netherlands., Methods: The primary outcome of this study was the occurrence of postoperative complications. Secondary outcomes were trends in surgical management, centralization, and waiting times of patients with thyroid cancer., Results: This study included 1186 patients with thyroid cancer. Median follow-up was 58 [interquartile range: 24-95] months. Surgery was performed in 1027 (86.6%) patients. No differences in postoperative complications, such as long-term hypoparathyroidism, permanent recurrent nerve paresis, or reoperation due to bleeding were seen over time. The percentage of patients with low-risk papillary thyroid carcinoma referred to the academic hospital decreased from 85% (n = 120/142) in 2010 to 2013 to 70% (n = 120/171) in 2014 to 2017 and 62% (n = 100/162) in 2018 to 2021 (P < .01). The percentage of patients undergoing a hemithyroidectomy alone was 9% (n = 28/323) in 2010 to 2013 and increased to 20% (n = 63/317; P < .01) in 2018 to 2021., Conclusion: The establishment of a regional oncological network coincided with a de-escalation of thyroid cancer treatment and centralization of complex patients and interventions. However, no differences in postoperative complications over time were observed. Coronavirus disease 2019 is known to be regulated by multiple factors such as delayed immune response, impaired T cell activation, and elevated levels of proinflammatory cytokines. Clinical management of the disease remains challenging due to interplay of various factors as drug candidates may elicit different responses depending on the staging of the disease. In this context, we propose a computational framework which provides insights into the interaction between viral infection and immune response in lung epithelial cells, with an aim of predicting optimal treatment strategies based on infection severity. First, we formulate the model for visualizing the nonlinear dynamics during the disease progression considering the role of T cells, macrophages and proinflammatory cytokines. Here, we show that the model is capable of emulating the dynamic and static data trends of viral load, T cell, macrophage levels, interleukin (IL)-6 and TNF-α levels. Second, we demonstrate the ability of the framework to capture the dynamics corresponding to mild, moderate, severe, and critical condition. Our result shows that, at late phase (>15 days), severity of disease is directly proportional to pro-inflammatory cytokine IL6 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α levels and inversely proportional to the number of T cells. Finally, the simulation framework was used to assess the effect of drug administration time as well as efficacy of single or multiple drugs on patients. The major contribution of the proposed framework is to utilize the infection progression model for clinical management and administration of drugs inhibiting virus replication and cytokine levels as well as immunosuppressant drugs at various stages of the disease., (© 2023 Wiley Periodicals LLC.)
