Abstract

A study has been made of oxidation, sulfurization, and other reactions of 3-C-phosphoryl-1,2-O-isopropylidene-α-D-glucofuranose 3,5,6-bicyclophosphites. Methods for the synthesis of new types of α-D-glucofuranose diphosphorus derivatives were proposed on the basis of these transformations. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Abstract

Chiral diamines having a C2 symmetry, (4S,5S)-2,2-dimethyl-4,5-bis(aminomethyl)-1,3-dioxolane and (5S,5'S)-2,2,2',2'-tetramethyl-3,3'-diphenyl-5,5'-bioxazolidine, were synthesized on the basis of (+)-(2R,3R)-tartaric acid. Their structure was proved by X-ray analysis. The products were used as ligands in rhodium catalyst for enantioselective hydrogenation of α-acetamidocinnamic and itaconic acids.

Abstract

A novel procedure has been proposed for the synthesis of chiral α-aminophosphoryl compounds from glycosylamines and PH compounds (diphenylphosphine oxide and ethyl and phenyl phenylphosphonates) under mild conditions. The reaction is accompanied by dehydration of the carbohydrate moiety in unprotected monosaccharides to form furan ring.

Abstract

2-Benzothiazolethione may exist in two tautomeric forms, thiol and thione, depending on the polarity and basicity of the medium [1, 2]. We studied reaction of 2-benzothiazolethione (I) with C-ethoxycarbonyl-Nphenylnitrilimine (II). The reaction starts apparently as 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition involving the exocyclic bond C=S of 2-benzothiazolethione. Then in the arising benzothiazolespirothiadizole occurs the opening of thiazole ring followed by dimerization yielding 2,2`-bis(2,3-dihydro-3-phenyl-5-ethoxycarbonyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-ylideneaminodiphenyl disulfide (III).
