BACKGROUND/AIMS Atypical melanocytic nevi (AMN) share some or all of the clinical features of malignant melanoma (MM). The clinical sensitivity for diagnosing MM by physicians experienced in evaluating pigmented lesions is reported to range from 73% to 89%.
