Abstract This paper studies the optimization of hydraulic parameters for pipeline system of hydropower station with super long headrace tunnel (HSSLHT) based on mayfly algorithm considering operational scenarios. Firstly, the state equation of HSSLHT under load disturbance is derived. The optimization design of hydraulic parameters for pipeline system based on mayfly algorithm is proposed. Then, the optimization of hydraulic parameters is conducted and analyzed. Finally, the effects of pipeline diameters and transfer coefficients of turbines on the optimization of hydraulic parameters for pipeline systems are revealed. The results show that the optimization of hydraulic parameters for pipeline system is a multiobjective problem, and the several objective functions exhibit significant conflicts. Compared to the firefly algorithm and genetic algorithm, the objective function under mayfly algorithm is improved by 14.7% and 5.1%, respectively. The mayfly algorithm can make the hydraulic parameters for the pipeline system reach the Pareto optimal solution under both load decrease condition and load increase condition. The diameter of penstock has an obvious influence on the robustness of dynamic performance of HSSLHT. When the diameter of penstock increases by 30%, the robustness of HSSLHT becomes worse and the robustness index deteriorates by 57%. The reason is that the flow inertia of penstock becomes smaller with the increase of diameter, and the flow inertia of penstock is favorable for resisting disturbance of HSSLHT. The coefficient of throttled orifice head loss and the lengths and head losses of headrace tunnel and penstock are the key hydraulic parameters for matching the operation of HSSLHT.

Abstract Variants in potassium channel‐related genes are one of the most important mechanisms underlying abnormal neuronal excitation and disturbances in the cellular resting membrane potential. These variants can cause different forms of epilepsy, which can seriously affect the physical and mental health of patients, especially those with refractory epilepsy or status epilepticus, which are common among pediatric patients and are potentially life‐threatening. Variants in potassium ion channel‐related genes have been reported in few studies; however, to our knowledge, no systematic review has been published. This study aimed to summarize the epilepsy phenotypes, functional studies, and pharmacological advances associated with different potassium channel gene variants to assist clinical practitioners and drug development teams to develop evidence‐based medicine and guide research strategies. PubMed and Google Scholar were searched for relevant literature on potassium channel‐related epilepsy reported in the past 5–10 years. Various common potassium ion channel gene variants can lead to heterogeneous epilepsy phenotypes, and functional effects can result from gene deletions and compound effects. Administration of select anti‐seizure medications is the primary treatment for this type of epilepsy. Most patients are refractory to anti‐seizure medications, and some novel anti‐seizure medications have been found to improve seizures. Use of targeted drugs to correct aberrant channel function based on the type of potassium channel gene variant can be used as an evidence‐based pathway to achieve precise and individualized treatment for children with epilepsy. Plain Language Summary In this article, the pathogenesis and clinical characteristics of epilepsy caused by different types of potassium channel gene variants are reviewed in the light of the latest research literature at home and abroad, with the expectation of providing a certain theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of children with this type of disease.

Abstract Oxide semimetals exhibiting both nontrivial topological characteristics stand as exemplary parent compounds and multiple degrees of freedom, offering a promise for the realization of novel electronic states. In this work, we report the structural and transport phase transition in an oxide semimetal, SrNbO3, achieved through effective anion doping. Notably, the resistivity increased by more than three orders of magnitude at room temperature upon nitrogen‐doping. The extent of electronic modulation in SrNbO3 is strongly correlated with misfit strain, underscoring its phase instability to both chemical doping and crystallographic symmetry variations. Using first‐principles calculations, we discern that elevating the level of nitrogen doping induces an upward shift in the conductive bands of SrNbO3−δNδ. Consequently, a transition from a metallic state to an insulating state becomes apparent as the nitrogen concentration reaches a threshold of 1/3. This investigation shows effective anion engineering in oxide semimetals, offering pathways for manipulating their physical properties.

Abstract Wet and cold biases on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) commonly exist in global and regional climate simulations. Previous studies have explored the possible causes of wet and cold biases and contributed to reducing these biases. However, the connection between wet and cold biases remains insufficiently addressed. Our research indicates that the TP wet bias converts into positive snow amount bias not continually but efficiently and concentratedly, under the control of snow phenology in different regions. Furthermore, the complex relationship between snow amount, snow coverage and surface albedo restricts the transformation of snow amount to surface albedo bias, and thus to cold bias. Our research highlights the spatio‐temporally divergent transformation of wet to cold bias on the TP during snow season, providing a novel perspective to understand the intrinsic connection between wet and cold biases and improve climate simulations on the TP.

Abstract Retinal‐inspired synaptic phototransistors, which integrate light signal detection, preprocessing, and memory functions, show promising applications in artificial vision sensors. In recent years, it has been reported to construct heterojunction in phototransistors to realize positive photoconductance (PPC) and negative photoconductance (NPC) modulations, thereby achieving visible and infrared wavelength discrimination and various visual functions. However, relatively little attention has been paid to wavelength‐dependent switching and reconfigurability between two states (PPC and NPC), limiting further applications for complex simulations of biological visual functions. Here, a mixed organic–inorganic heterojunction synaptic phototransistor was constructed by integrating CsPbBr3 nanoplates (NPLs) with strong blue‐light absorption and poly(3‐hexylthiophene‐2,5‐diyl) (P3HT) with strong red‐light absorption. Compared with the three‐dimensional (3D) structure CsPbBr3 nanocubes (NCs), the two‐dimensional (2D) CsPbBr3 NPLs exhibited more efficient charge transfer with P3HT. Based on the individual optical absorption properties in organic–inorganic heterojunction, the device exhibited wavelength‐selective and reconfigurable behavior between PPC and NPC. A low power consumption of 0.053 fJ per synaptic event was achieved, which is comparable to a biological synapse. Finally, Drosophila's evasive behavior to food under red and blue light can be successfully demonstrated. This work demonstrates the future potential of synaptic phototransistors for visuomorphic computing.

Abstract Organic near‐infrared (NIR) room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials become a hot topic in bioimaging and biosensing for the large penetration depth and high signal‐to‐background ratio (SBR). However, it is challenging to achieve persistent NIR phosphorescence for severe nonradiative transitions by energy‐gap law. Herein, a universal system with persistent NIR RTP is built by visible (host) and NIR phosphorescence (guest) materials, which can efficiently suppress the nonradiative transitions by rigid environment of crystalline host materials with good matching, and further promote phosphorescence emission by the additional phosphorescence resonance energy transfer (≈100%) between them. The persistent NIR phosphorescence with ten‐folds enhancement of RTP lifetimes, compared to those of guest luminogens, can be achieved by modulation of aggregated structures of host–guest systems. This work provides a convenient way to largely prolong the phosphorescence lifetimes of various NIR luminogens, promoting their application in afterglow imaging with deeper penetration and higher SBRs.

Background Statins are widely used for treating patients with ischemic stroke at risk of secondary cerebrovascular events. It is unknown whether Asian populations benefit from more intensive statin‐based therapy for stroke recurrence. Therefore, in the present study we evaluated the effectiveness and safety of high‐dose and moderate‐dose statins for patients who had experienced mild ischemic stroke during the acute period. Methods and Results This multicenter prospective study included patients with mild ischemic stroke who presented within 72 hours of symptom onset. The outcomes of patients in the high‐intensity and moderate‐intensity statin treatment groups were compared, with the main efficacy outcome being stroke recurrence and the primary safety end point being intracranial hemorrhage. The propensity score matching method was employed to control for imbalances in baseline variables. Subgroup analyses were conducted to evaluate group differences. In total, the data of 2950 patients were analyzed at 3 months, and the data of 2764 patients were analyzed at 12 months due to loss to follow‐up. According to the multivariable Cox analyses adjusted for potential confounders, stroke recurrence occurred similarly in the high‐intensity statin and moderate‐intensity statin groups (3 months: adjusted hazard ratio [HR], 1.12 [95% CI, 0.85–1.49]; P=0.424; 12 months: adjusted HR, 1.08 [95% CI, 0.86–1.34]; P=0.519). High‐intensity statin therapy was associated with an increased risk of intracranial hemorrhage (3 months: adjusted HR, 1.81 [95% CI, 1.00–3.25]; P=0.048; 12 months: adjusted HR, 1.86 [95% CI, 1.10–3.16]; P=0.021). The results from the propensity score‐matched analyses were consistent with those from the Cox proportional hazards analysis. Conclusions Compared with moderate‐intensity statin therapy, high‐dose statin therapy may not decrease the risk of mild, noncardiogenic ischemic stroke recurrence but may increase the risk of intracranial hemorrhage. Abstract Pyrophosphate (PPi) anions are crucial in numerous biological and ecological processes involved in energy conversion, enzymatic reactions, and metabolic regulation along with adenosine. They are also significant biological markers for various processes related to diseases. Fluorescent PPi sensors would enable visual and/or biological detection in convenient settings. However, the current availability of commercial sensors has been limited to costly enzymes that are not compatible for imaging. Sensor development has also encountered challenges such as poor selectivity and stability and limited practical applications. In this review, we analyze the situation of PPi sensing via commercial kits and focus on sensors that use metal complexes. We address their designs, sensing mechanisms, selectivities, and detection limits. Finally, we discuss limitations and perspectives for PPi detection and imaging.

Abstract This paper proposes an adaptive fault‐tolerant control (FTC) method for hypersonic vehicle (HSV) with unexpected centroid shift, actuator fault, time‐varying full state constraints, and input saturation. The occurrence of unexpected centroid shift has three main effects on the HSV system, which are system uncertainties, eccentric moments, and variation of input matrix. In order to ensure the time‐varying state constraints, a novel attitude state constraint control strategy, to keep the safe flight of HSV, is technically proposed by a time‐varying state constraint function (TVSCF). A unified controller is designed to handle the time‐varying state constraints according to the proposed TVSCF. Then, the constrained HSV system can be transformed into a novel free‐constrained system based on the TVSCF. For the variation of system input matrix, input saturation and actuator fault, a special Nussbaum‐type function is designed to compensate for those time‐varying nonlinear terms. Additionally, the auxiliary systems is designed to compensate the constraint of system control inputs. Then, it is proved that the proposed control scheme can guarantee the boundedness of all closed‐loop signals based on the Lyapunov stability theory. At last, the simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed fault‐tolerant control scheme.

Abstract Environmental filtering is deemed to play a predominant role in regulating the abundance and distribution of animals during the urbanization process. However, the current knowledge about the effects of urbanization on the population densities of terrestrial mammals is limited. In this study, we compared two invasive mammals (dogs Canis lupus familiaris and cats Felis silvestris) and three indigenous mammals (Siberian weasels Mustela sibirica, Amur hedgehogs Erinaceus amurensis, and Tolai hares Lepus tolai) in response to urbanization using camera trap distance sampling (CTDS) in the rural–urban landscape of Tianjin, China. We used generalized additive mixed models (GAMMs) to test the specific responses of their densities to levels of urbanization. Invasive dogs (2.63 individuals/km2, 95% CI: 0.91–7.62) exhibited similar density estimations to cats (2.15 individuals/km2, 95% CI: 1.31–3.50). Amur hedgehogs were the most abundant species (6.73 individuals/km2, 95% CI: 3.15–14.38), followed by Tolai hares (2.22 individuals/km2, 95% CI: 0.87–5.68) and Siberian weasels (2.15 individuals/km2, 95% CI: 1.06–4.36). The densities of cats, Siberian weasels, and Amur hedgehogs increased with the level of urbanization. The population densities of dogs and cats were only influenced by urban‐related variables, while the densities of Siberian weasels and Amur hedgehogs were influenced by both urban‐related variables and nature‐related variables. Our findings highlight that the CTDS is a suitable and promising method for wildlife surveys in rural–urban landscapes, and urban wildlife management needs to consider the integrated repercussions of urban‐ and nature‐related factors, especially the critical impacts of green space habitats at finer scales.

Objective Although the lamina open angle of making hinges is closely related to the outcomes of French‐door laminoplasty (FDL) for treatment of cervical spondylosis, there have been no methods to predict the lamina open angle preoperatively as yet. The aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy of predicting the laminal open angle using our newly designed sharp rongeur, and to compare the postoperative outcomes and complications between the methods of making hinges using the newly designed sharp rongeur and the traditional high‐speed micro‐drill during the FDL. Methods This was a single‐center retrospective study. Following the approval of the institutional ethics committee, a total of 39 patients (Male: 28; Female: 11) diagnosed with cervical spondylos who underwent FDL in our institution between January 2018 and May 2019 were enrolled. Patients were divided into two groups based on the method of making hinges (sharp rongeur: 22 cases; high‐speed micro‐drill: 17 cases). The average age at surgery was 59.1 years (range: 16–85 years). The radiological parameters, clinical outcomes, modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association (mJOA) scale score, and the recovery rate of mJOA were recorded and compared between the groups, respectively. The radiological parameters and clinical measurements at pre‐ and post‐operation stages were compared using the paired‐sample t‐test, the Wilcoxon signed‐rank test, and the Friedman's test, and variables in the two groups were analyzed using an unpaired Student's t‐test or a Mann–Whitney U test. Results The average follow‐up period was 20.4 months (range: 14.0–25.9 months), the postoperative open angle was 60.13° ± 3.69° in the rongeur group with 22.78° ± 4.34° of angular enlargement, which was significantly lower than that of 68.96° ± 1.00° in the micro‐drill group with 32.75° ± 4.22° of angular enlargement (U = 19.000, p 0.05), except in the recovery rate of mJOA scores (0.836 ± 0.138 vs 0.724 ± 0.180, U = 115.000, p = 0.042) and neck disability index (NDI) at the final follow‐up (7.55 ± 10.65 vs 14.71 ± 8.72, U = 94.000, p = 0.008). Conclusions The special sharp rongeur with a tip angle of 20° could be a preferred method to make hinges during FDL, which can predict the laminal open angle accurately and enlarge it to about 23°, thus reducing the fracture rate and accelerating the bony fusion of hinges compared with the outcomes of the traditional micro‐drill method.

Abstract Background Exercise preconditioning (EP) is essential for preventing ischemic stroke. Recent studies have shown that EP exerts neuroprotective effects in the cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury model. Nonetheless, there have been few reports on the relationship between EP and the Th17/Treg balance. Moreover, it is unclear whether the JAK2/STAT3 pathway is responsible for the neuroprotective effect of EP. Therefore, we aimed to explore the impact of EP, other than the anti‐inflammatory and antiapoptotic functions, on the Th17/Treg balance via the JAK2/STAT3 pathway in a middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)‐induced model. Results Fifty rats were randomly allocated into five groups, including the sham group (n = 10), EP+sham group (n = 10), MCAO group (n = 10), EP+MCAO group (n = 10), and EP+MCAO+JAK2/STAT3 pathway agonist (coumermycin A1, CA1) group (n = 10). The results indicated that EP alleviated neurological deficits, reduced infarct volume, and ameliorated neuronal apoptosis induced by MCAO. Additionally, the MCAO‐induced Th17/Treg imbalance could be rectified by EP. The decreased levels of IL‐10 and Foxp3 and increased IL‐17 and RORα in the MCAO group were reversed by EP treatment. Regarding inflammation, EP reduced the concentrations of IL‐6 and IL‐17 and elevated those of IL‐10 and TGF‑β. The neuroprotective effects of EP were accompanied by decreased phosphorylation of JAK2 and STAT3. Furthermore, CA1 pretreatment diminished all the beneficial effects of EP partially. Conclusion Our findings suggest that EP contributes to attenuating neuronal apoptosis, Th17/Treg imbalance, and inflammation induced by MCAO via inhibiting the JAK2/STAT3 pathway, indicating its therapeutic potential in ischemic stroke.

Abstract Breast cancer (BC) is the most prevalent malignancy worldwide, and a continued upward trend has been predicted in the coming decades. Screening in selected targeted populations, which is effective in reducing cancer‐related mortality, has been widely implemented in many countries. This review summarizes the advances in BC screening techniques, organized or opportunistic BC screening programs across different countries, and screening modalities recommended by different academic authorities. Mammography is the most widely used and effective technique for BC screening. Other complementary techniques include ultrasound, clinical breast examination, and magnetic resonance imaging. Novel screening tests, including digital breast tomosynthesis and liquid biopsies, are still under development. Globally, the implementation status of BC screening programs is uneven, which is reflected by differences in screening modes, techniques, and population coverage. The recommended optimal screening strategies varied according to the authoritative guidelines. The effectiveness of current screening programs is influenced by several factors, including low detection rate, high false‐positive rate, and unsatisfactory coverage and uptake rates. Exploration of accurate BC risk prediction models and the development of risk‐stratified screening strategies are highly warranted in future research.

Abstract Background Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein K (hnRNPK) is a nucleic acid‐binding protein. Reportedly, hnRNPK is overexpressed in many human tumors, and such overexpression is associated with poor prognosis, implicating the role of hnRNPK as an oncogene during tumorigenesis. In this study, hnRNPK expression in lung cancer tissues was investigated. Methods Briefly, hnRNPK was knocked down in lung cancer cell lines, and effects of knockdown on the cell proliferation, migration, and cell cycle were assessed using a cell counting kit‐8 (CCK‐8) assay, colony formation assay, transwell assay and flow cytometry. The effects of hnRNPK knockdown on the p53‐dependent signaling pathway were examined using western blotting. Finally, the effect of hnRNPK knockdown on tumor growth was verified in vivo using a lung cancer xenograft mouse model. Results hnRNPK knockdown inhibited the cell proliferation, migration and cell cycle. In addition to phenotypic changes, hnRNPK knockdown upregulated expressions of pCHK1, pCHK2, and p53，p21，cyclin D1, thereby mediating the DNA damage response (DDR). The regulatory function of hnRNPK during p53/p21/cyclin D1 signaling in hnRNPK‐knockdown A549 cells was confirmed by suppressed the protein expression of associated signaling pathways, which inhibited DDR. Conclusion hnRNPK plays a crucial role in the progression of lung cancer, ultimately affecting survival rate. Inhibition of progression of lung cancer cells induced by hnRNPK‐knockdown is dependent on activation of p53 by the p53/p21/cyclin D1 pathway.

Abstract Aqueous activities on Mars have gradually declined since the Noachian (>3.7 Ga). Although water can be stored in the subsurface during the latest epochs, geomorphological evidence is still limited. In this study, we used in situ imaging and spectral data acquired by China's Zhurong rover, as well as high‐resolution remote‐sensing data, to investigate the transverse aeolian ridges (TARs) in the Zhurong landing region of Utopia Planitia. A two‐stage evolutionary scenario of the TARs is proposed and polygonal features with hydrated minerals are identified for the first time on the surface of Martian TARs. We discussed the possible formation mechanisms of the polygonal features, and proposed that they could be related to recent aqueous activity and atmosphere‐surface water exchange on Mars, which sheds light on the hydrological cycle of Mars in current cold and dry climate.

Abstract Aim The aim of this study is to explore the clinical characteristics in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) patients with different serum specific IgE (SIgE) and eosinophilic granulocyte infiltration status. Methods This retrospective observational study included patients diagnosed with CRSwNP and underwent functional endoscopic sinus surgery at the Yinchuan First People's Hospital between June 2019 and June 2021. Background. Ovarian cancer (OC) is the leading cause of gynecological cancer death and the fifth most common cause of cancer-related death in women in America. Programmed cell death played a vital role in tumor progression and immunotherapy response in cancer. Methods. The prognostic cell death signature (CDS) was constructed with an integrative machine learning procedure, including 10 methods, using TCGA, GSE14764, GSE26193, GSE26712, GSE63885, and GSE140082 datasets. Several methods and single-cell analysis were used to explore the correlation between CDS and the ecosystem and therapy response of OC patients. Results. The prognostic CDS constructed by the combination of StepCox (n = both) + Enet (alpha = 0.2) acted as an independent risk factor for the overall survival (OS) of OC patients and showed stable and powerful performance in predicting the OS rate of OC patients. Compared with tumor grade, clinical stage, and many developed signatures, the CDS had a higher C-index. OC patients with low CDS score had a higher level of CD8+ cytotoxic T, B cell, and M1-like macrophage, representing a related immunoactivated ecosystem. A low CDS score indicated a higher PD1 and CTLA4 immunophenoscore, higher tumor mutation burden score, lower tumor immune dysfunction and exclusion score, and lower tumor escape score in OC, demonstrating a better immunotherapy response. OC patients with high CDS score had a higher gene set score of cancer-related hallmarks, including angiogenesis, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, hypoxia, glycolysis, and notch signaling. Conclusion. The current study constructed a novel CDS for OC, which could serve as an indicator for predicting the prognosis, ecosystem, and immunotherapy benefits of OC patients.

Background. Prolonged disorders of consciousness (pDOC) are common in neurology and place a heavy burden on families and society. This study is aimed at investigating the characteristics of brain connectivity in patients with pDOC based on quantitative EEG (qEEG) and extending a new direction for the evaluation of pDOC. Methods. Participants were divided into a control group (CG) and a DOC group by the presence or absence of pDOC. Participants underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) T1 three-dimensional magnetization with a prepared rapid acquisition gradient echo (3D-T1-MPRAGE) sequence, and video EEG data were collected. After calculating the power spectrum by EEG data analysis tool, DTABR (δ+θ/α+β ratio), Pearson’s correlation coefficient (Pearson r), Granger’s causality, and phase transfer entropy (PTE), we performed statistical analysis between two groups. Finally, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of connectivity metrics were made. Results. The proportion of power in frontal, central, parietal, and temporal regions in the DOC group was lower than that in the CG. The percentage of delta power in the DOC group was significantly higher than that in the CG, the DTABR in the DOC group was higher than that in the CG, and the value was inverted. Abstract The guaranteed‐performance consensus tracking (GPCT) for non‐linear multi‐agent systems (MASs) with switching communication topologies is presented. Different from the existing work, the non‐linear range of one‐sided Lipschitz non‐linear MASs is wider than the Lipschitz ones, and the upper bound of the tracking performance is given while achieving the consensus tracking. First, a guaranteed‐performance tracking control protocol is proposed, where consensus tracking regulation performance is involved. Then, by the linear matrix inequality (LMI), sufficient conditions are provided to achieve the GPCT under the one‐sided Lipschitz and quadratic inner bounded conditions. It is worth noting that a special LMI structure is directly constructed by introducing these two conditions to simplify the complexity of the derivation. Finally, two simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

Abstract The middle‐aged male was diagnosed with “acute anterior wall myocardial infarction” based on clinical symptoms, laboratory examination, and coronary angiography (CAG), but his ECG showed no significant change in QRS wave or ST‐T within 6 h of admission. Thus, a perfect explanation with the existing theory is difficult, and only the case is presented here.

Abstract Natural products have been widely used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, their mechanisms are often obscured due to multi‐components and multi‐targets. The authors constructed a pathway‐based protein–protein association (PPA) network for target proteins of 13 α‐glucosidase inhibitors (AGIs) identified from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (SBG), designed to explore the underlying mechanisms. This network contained 118 nodes and 1167 connections. An uneven degree distribution and small‐world property were observed, characterised by high clustering coefficient and short average path length. The PPA network had an inherent hierarchy as C(k)∼k−0.71. It also exhibited potential weak disassortative mixing pattern, coupled with a decreased function Knn (k) and negative value of assortativity coefficient. These properties indicated that a few nodes were crucial to the network. PGH2, GNAS, MAPK1, MAPK3, PRKCA, and MAOA were then identified as key targets with the highest degree values and centrality indices. Additionally, a core subnetwork showed that chrysin, 5,8,2′‐trihydroxy‐7‐methoxyflavone, and wogonin were the main active constituents of these AGIs, and that the serotonergic synapse pathway was the critical pathway for SBG against T2D. The application of a pathway‐based protein–protein association network provides a novel strategy to explore the mechanisms of natural products on complex diseases.

Abstract Lamination technique is one of the most promising and effective approaches to produce flexible organic solar cells (OSCs), with the combination of high throughput and simultaneous encapsulation. In this study, flexible ITO‐free OSCs were successfully fabricated by lamination technique under the optimized temperature and pressure. It is found that the introduction of hole interface layer of PEDOT:MoO3 helps to improve both the film hydrophobicity and the carrier extraction. A high efficiency improvement of about 30% is obtained in the interface‐modified laminating flexible ITO‐free OSCs compared to the conventional laminated device. This work illustrates that anode interface engineering has a significant effect on the improvement of performance of roll‐to‐roll laminated and self‐encapsulated OSCs.

Abstract Under the groundswell of calls for the industrialization of perovskite solar cells (PSCs), wide‐bandgap (>1.7 eV) mixed halide perovskites are equally or more appealing in comparison with typical bandgap perovskites when the former's various potential applications are taken into account. In this review, the progress of wide‐bandgap organic–inorganic hybrid PSCs—concentrating on the compositional space, optimization strategies, and device performance—are summarized and the issues of phase segregation and voltage loss are assessed. Then, the diverse applications of wide‐bandgap PSCs in semitransparent devices, indoor photovoltaics, and various multijunction tandem devices are discussed and their challenges and perspectives are evaluated. Finally, the authors conclude with an outlook for the future development of wide‐bandgap PSCs.

Abstract Macroinvertebrate assemblages are structured by a number of abiotic and biotic factors interacting simultaneously. We investigated macroinvertebrate assemblages along gradients of human disturbance and morphometric characteristics in five lakes connected by the same stream. We aimed to assess the relative effects of environmental gradients on macroinvertebrate assemblages and to investigate whether water quality effects on the assemblages were correlated with buffer land use. There were significant differences in macroinvertebrate community compositions among lakes, and our results indicated that oligochaetes (mainly Limnodrilus) and insects (mainly Chironomus) contributed highly to the differences. We used redundancy analysis with variation partitioning to quantify the independent and combined anthropogenic effects of water quality and land use gradients on the macroinvertebrate community. The independent effect of water quality was responsible for 17% of the total variance in macroinvertebrate community composition, the independent effect of buffer land use accounted for 6% of variation, and the combined variation between land use change and water quality accounted for 12%. Our study indicated that both the independent effects of land use and within‐lake water quality can explain the influence in macroinvertebrate assemblages, with significant interactions between the two. This is rather important to notice that changes in buffer land use generally may alter nutrient inputs and thus severely affect abiotic conditions encountered by macroinvertebrate. Our study demonstrates that considering buffer zone effects explicitly may be significant in the selection and application of conservation and management strategies.

Abstract The structural characteristics of the macroinvertebrate community can effectively reflect the health status of lake ecosystems and the quality of the lake ecological environment. It is therefore important to identify the limiting factors of macroinvertebrate community structure for the maintenance of lake ecosystem health. In this study, the community composition of macroinvertebrate assemblages and their relationships with environmental variables were investigated in 13 small lakes within Lianhuan Lake in northern China. A self‐organizing map and K‐means clustering analysis grouped the macroinvertebrate communities into five groups, and the indicator species reflected the environmental characteristics of each group. Principal component analysis indicated that the classification of the macroinvertebrate communities was affected by environmental variables. The Kruskal–Wallis test results showed that environmental variables (pH, total phosphorus, nitrate, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, permanganate index, and ammonium) had a significant effect on the classification of the macroinvertebrate communities. Redundancy analysis showed that mollusks were significantly negatively correlated with pH and chlorophyll a, while annelids and aquatic insects were significantly positively correlated with chlorophyll a and dissolved oxygen. Spearman correlation analysis showed that the species richness and Shannon's diversity of macroinvertebrates were significantly negatively correlated with total phosphorus, while the biomass of macroinvertebrates was significantly negatively correlated with pH. High alkalinity and lake eutrophication have a serious impact on the macroinvertebrate community. Human disturbances, such as industrial and agricultural runoff, negatively impact the ecological environment and affect macroinvertebrate community structure. Thus, macroinvertebrate community structure should be improved by enhancing the ecological environment and controlling environmental pollution at a watershed scale.

Mining high-utility pattern (HUP) on transactional datasets has been widely discussed, and various algorithms have been introduced to settle this problem. However, the time-space efficiency of the algorithms is still limited, and the mining system cannot provide timely feedback on relevant information. In addition, when mining HUP from taxonomy transactional datasets, a large portion of the quantitative results are just accidental responses to the user-defined utility constraints, and they may have no statistical significance. To address these two problems, we propose two corresponding approaches named Sampling HUP-Miner and Significant HUP-Miner. Sampling HUP-Miner pursues a sample size of a transitional dataset based on a theoretical guarantee; the mining results based on such a sample size can be an effective approximation to the results on the whole datasets. Significant HUP-Miner proposes the concept of testable support, and significant HUPs could be drawn timely based on the constraint of testable support. Experiments show that the designed two algorithms can discover approximate and significant HUPs smoothly and perform well according to the runtime, pattern numbers, memory usage, and average utility.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a common traumatic disease of the nervous system. The pathophysiological process of SCI includes primary injury and secondary injuries. An excessive inflammatory response leads to secondary tissue damage, which in turn exacerbates cellular and organ dysfunction. Due to the irreversibility of primary injury, current research on SCI mainly focuses on secondary injury, and the inflammatory response is considered the primary target. Thus, modulating the inflammatory response has been suggested as a new strategy for the treatment of SCI. In this study, microglial cell lines, primary microglia, and a rat SCI model were used, and we found that WKYMVm/FPR2 plays an anti-inflammatory role and reduces tissue damage after SCI by suppressing the extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathways. FPR2 was activated by WKYMVm, suppressing the secretion of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) by inhibiting M1 microglial polarization. Moreover, FPR2 activation by WKYMVm could reduce structural disorders and neuronal loss in SCI rats. Overall, this study illustrated that the activation of FPR2 by WKYMVm repressed M1 microglial polarization by suppressing the ERK1/2 and NF-κB signaling pathways to alleviate tissue damage and locomotor decline after SCI. These findings provide further insight into SCI and help identify novel treatment strategies.

Abstract The de Winter electrocardiographic (ECG) pattern was characterized by upsloping ST‐segment depressions, tall and positive symmetrical T waves in precordial leads. This rare ECG pattern was recognized as an indication of proximal left anterior descending artery occlusion. Less commonly, this ECG pattern was reported in association with occlusion of other coronary artery segments. We present three cases of the de Winter pattern associated with acute total left main occlusion. This pattern may evolve to ST elevation within hours of presentation. Widespread upsloping ST‐segment depressions from V2–V6, centered on V5 were observed in these patients.

This paper provides an in-depth study and analysis of the characterization of the digital economy ecosystem and the mechanism of eye-flowering through the method of interspecies competition. The evolutionary game model of symbiotic decision-making in the entrepreneurial ecosystem is constructed, the evolutionary process of symbiotic decision-making of subjects is analyzed through mathematical derivation, and the symbiotic decision-making process of subjects is simulated through computer simulation to answer how the subjects of the entrepreneurial ecosystem make symbiotic decisions and explore the mechanism of symbiotic formation of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Then, based on the ecological perspective, the symbiotic evolution model of entrepreneurial ecosystem subjects is constructed from the subject level, the equilibrium point of the evolution of entrepreneurial ecosystem subjects, the stability conditions, and the relationship between the equilibrium point and the symbiosis model are analyzed, and the symbiotic evolution paths of entrepreneurial ecosystem subjects under different symbiosis modes, initial population size, maximum size, and natural growth rate are presented with simulation experiments, respectively. The main characteristics and manifestations of the dynamic evolution of the platform ecosystem are analyzed, and the key competitive factors that determine the dynamic evolution of the platform ecosystem are depicted. Then, according to the inherent characteristic laws of the platform ecosystem, the complex network approach is applied to construct a dynamic evolution model with originality and wide applicability for the change of bilateral user scale. Based on the dynamic evolution process, the relationship between model parameters and business performance is explored, and the trajectory of bilateral user size change over time and the range of parameters are derived by numerical calculation. Finally, using Monte Carlo simulation methods, the dynamic evolution model is used to predict the future operating conditions of platform enterprises, providing a valuation basis for investors to make investment decisions and helping platform managers to formulate business strategies.

Background We aimed to obtain a set of health state utility scores of patients with esophageal cancer (EC) and precancerous lesions in China, and to explore the influencing factors of health‐related quality of life (HRQoL). Methods A hospital‐based multicenter cross‐sectional study was conducted. From 2013 to 2014, patients with EC or precancerous lesions were enrolled. HRQoL was assessed using a European quality of life‐5 dimension (EQ‐5D‐3L) instrument. Multivariable linear regression analysis was performed to explore the influencing factors of the EQ‐5D utility scores. Results A total of 2090 EC patients and 156 precancer patients were included in the study. The dimension of pain/discomfort had the highest rate of self‐reported problems, 60.5% in EC and 51.3% in precancer patients. The mean visual analog scale (VAS) score for EC and precancer patients were 68.4 ± 0.7 and 64.5 ± 3.1, respectively. The EQ‐5D utility scores for EC and precancer patients were estimated as 0.748 ± 0.009 and 0.852 ± 0.022, and the scores of EC at stage I, stage II, stage III, and stage IV were 0.693 ± 0.031, 0.747 ± 0.014, 0.762 ± 0.015, and 0.750 ± 0.023, respectively. According to the multivariable analyses, the factors of region, occupation, household income in 2012, health care insurance type, pathological type, type of therapy, and time points of the survey were statistically associated with the EQ‐5D utility scores of EC patients. Conclusions There were remarkable decrements of utility scores among esophageal cancer patients, compared with precancer patients. The specific utility scores of EC would support further cost‐utility analysis in populations in China.

Abstract Background Lung cancer frequently occurs in the clinic, leading to poor prognosis and high mortality. Markers for early diagnosis of lung cancer are scarce, and further potential therapeutic targets are also urgently needed. Method We established a new mouse model in which the specific gene HNRNPK (heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein K) was downregulated after administration of doxycycline. The lung metastatic nodules were investigated using bioluminescence imaging, micro‐CT, and autopsy quantification. Results Compared with the short hairpin negative control group, less lung metastatic nodules were formed in the short hairpin RNA group. Conclusion Downregulation of HNRNPK in cancer cells can inhibit lung metastasis.

Abstract The role of neutrophils in bone regeneration remains elusive. In this study, it is shown that intramuscular implantation of interleukin‐8 (IL‐8) (commonly recognized as a chemotactic cytokine for neutrophils) at different levels lead to outcomes resembling those of fracture hematoma at various stages. Ectopic endochondral ossification is induced by certain levels of IL‐8, during which neutrophils are recruited to the implanted site and are N2‐polarized, which then secrete stromal cell‐derived factor‐1α (SDF‐1α) for bone mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC) chemotaxis via the SDF‐1/CXCR4 (C‐X‐C motif chemokine receptor 4) axis and its downstream phosphatidylinositol 3'‐kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway and β‐catenin‐mediated migration. Neutrophils are pivotal for recruiting and orchestrating innate and adaptive immunocytes, as well as BMSCs at the initial stage of bone healing and regeneration. The results in this study delineate the mechanism of neutrophil‐initiated bone regeneration and interaction between neutrophils and BMSCs, and innate and adaptive immunities. This work lays the foundation for research in the fields of bone regenerative therapy and biomaterial development, and might inspire further research into novel therapeutic options.

Abstract Background Most lung cancer patients are diagnosed after the onset of symptoms. However, whether the symptoms of lung cancer were independently associated with the diagnosis of lung cancer is unknown, especially in the Chinese population. Methods We conducted a 10 years (2005‐2014) nationwide multicenter retrospective clinical epidemiology study of lung cancer patients diagnosed in China. As such, this study focused on nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We calculated the odds ratios (ORs) for variables associated with the symptoms and physical signs using multivariate unconditional logistic regressions. Results A total of 7184 lung cancer patients were surveyed; finally, 6398 NSCLC patients with available information about their symptoms and physical signs were included in this analysis. The most common initial symptom and physical sign was chronic cough (4156, 65.0%), followed by sputum with blood (2110, 33.0%), chest pain (1146, 17.9%), shortness of breath (1090, 17.0%), neck and supraclavicular lymphadenectasis (629, 9.8%), weight loss (529, 8.3%), metastases pain (378, 5.9%), fatigue (307, 4.8%), fever (272, 4.3%), and dyspnea (270, 4.2%). Background The study was conducted to examine changes in diagnostic and staging imaging methods for lung cancer in China over a 10‐year period and to determine the relationships between such changes and socioeconomic development. Methods This was a hospital‐based, nationwide, multicenter retrospective study of primary lung cancer cases. The data were extracted from the 10‐year primary lung cancer databases at eight tertiary hospitals from various geographic areas in China. The chi‐squared test was used to assess the differences and the Cochran–Armitage trend test was used to estimate the trends of changes. Results A total of 7184 lung cancer cases were analyzed. Over the 10‐year period, the utilization ratio of diagnostic imaging methods, such as chest computed tomography (CT) and chest magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), increased from 65.79% to 81.42% and from 0.73% to 1.96%, respectively, while the utilization ratio of chest X‐ray declined from 50.15% to 30.93%. Staging imaging methods, such as positron emission tomography‐CT, neck ultrasound, brain MRI, bone scintigraphy, and bone MRI increased from 0.73% to 9.29%, 22.95% to 47.92%, 8.77% to 40.71%, 42.40% to 62.22%, and 0.88% to 4.65%, respectively; abdominal ultrasound declined from 83.33% to 59.9%. These trends were more notable in less developed areas than in areas with substantial economic development. Conclusion Overall, chest CT was the most common radiological diagnostic method for lung cancer in China. Imaging methods for lung cancer tend to be used in a diverse, rational, and regionally balanced manner.

Internal-caused cable fires are one of the most common cable fires, and anomalous temperature increase of the cable core is one of the first signs. However, when a cable is operating with electricity, the temperature of the core conductor cannot be monitored directly; therefore, this characteristic cannot be used in detection and prediction of internal-caused fire in electric cable effectively. An analogous transient thermal circuit model is created, simplified, and optimized to properly compute the temperature of the cable core. Afterward, by using the cable internal-caused fire experimental platform and adjusting current carrying capacity of the tested cable, an experiment is conducted for stimulating the very early stage of three-core cable internal-caused fire. The maximum relative errors of the transient thermal circuit model and the trisection transient thermal circuit model are less than 10% when comparing the experimental data with the calculation results, and the average relative error of the calculated value of trisection transient thermal circuit model is 1.08% after layered optimization. The algorithm model can satisfy the requirement for early detection and prediction in the very early stage of cable internal-caused fire.

High-voltage gain converter has a high-frequency use in some industrial fields, for instance, the fuel cell system, the photovoltaic system, electric vehicles, and the high-intensity discharge lamp. In order to solve the problem of the low-voltage gain of traditional boost converter, the double-boost converter with coupled inductance and doubled voltage is proposed, which connects the traditional boost converter in parallel. The voltage gain of the converter is further improved by introducing the voltage-doubled unit of the coupled inductance. Moreover, the clamp capacitor can absorb the leakage inductance in the circuit and reduce the voltage stress of the switch. In addition, two coupled inductors are magnetically collected; then, the loss of the core is analyzed under the same gain. The detailed analysis of the proposed converter and a comparison considering other topologies previously published in the literature are also presented in this article. In order to verify the proposed converter performance, a prototype has been built for a power of 200 W, input and output voltages of 12 and 84 V, respectively, and a switching frequency of 50 kHz. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the theoretical analysis proving the satisfactory converter performance, whose peak efficiency is 95.5%.

Baijiu is a traditional and popular Chinese liquor which is affected by the storage time. The longer the storage time of Baijiu is, the better its quality is. In this paper, the raw and mellow Baijiu samples from different storage time are discriminated accurately throughout midinfrared (MIR) spectroscopy and chemometrics. Firstly, changing regularities of the substances in Chinese Baijiu are discussed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) during the aging process. Then, infrared spectrums of Baijiu samples are processed by smoothing, multivariate baseline correction, and the first and second derivative processing, but no significant variation can be observed. Next, the spectral date pretreatment methods are constructively introduced, and principal component analysis (PCA) and discriminant analysis (DA) are developed for data analyses. The results show that the accuracy rates of samples by the DA method in calibration and validation sets are 91.7% and 100%, respectively. Consequently, an identification model based on support vector machine (SVM) and PCA is established combined with the grid search strategy and cross-validation methods to discriminate the age of Chinese Baijiu validly, where 100% classification accuracy rate is obtained in both training and test sets.

Nature gas hydrates (NGHs) are regarded as a potential alternative energy source due to their huge reserves and wide distribution. According to the geophysical surveys, the pore-filling hydrates occupy a large proportion of the global hydrate reserves, especially for the marine regions. Therefore, with a novel pore-scale 3D morphological modeling algorithm, this study systematically studied the effect of the particle size on the physical characteristics of the pore-filling hydrate-bearing sediment (HBS). The pore system evaluations and permeability simulations were performed by utilizing pore network modeling (PNM), and the thermal and electrical simulations were conducted by utilizing a finite volume method (FVM). The results show that for the HBS with smaller particle size, the average radius of the pores and throats would also be reduced, and the fractal dimension of the pore system would be increased. In addition, with the increasing hydrate saturation, the fractal dimension of the pore system will increase firstly and then decrease. And these parameter evolutions could impact the physical properties correspondingly; specifically, the decreasing particle size in the HBS would reduce the permeability and electrical conductivity of HBS and enhance the apparent thermal conductivity of HBS.

Feature selection is an essential step in the preprocessing of data in pattern recognition and data mining. Nowadays, the feature selection problem as an optimization problem can be solved with nature-inspired algorithm. In this paper, we propose an efficient feature selection method based on the cuckoo search algorithm called CBCSEM. The proposed method avoids the premature convergence of traditional methods and the tendency to fall into local optima, and this efficient method is attributed to three aspects. Firstly, the chaotic map increases the diversity of the initialization of the algorithm and lays the foundation for its convergence. Then, the proposed two-population elite preservation strategy can find the attractive one of each generation and preserve it. Finally, Lévy flight is developed to update the position of a cuckoo, and the proposed uniform mutation strategy avoids the trouble that the search space is too large for the convergence of the algorithm due to Lévy flight and improves the algorithm exploitation ability. The experimental results on several real UCI datasets show that the proposed method is competitive in comparison with other feature selection algorithms.

Estrogen contamination is recognized as one of the most serious environmental problems, causing widespread concern worldwide. Environmental estrogens are mainly derived from human and vertebrate excretion, drugs, and agricultural activities. The use of microorganisms is currently the most economical and effective method for biodegradation of environmental estrogens. Rhodococcus equi DSSKP-R-001 (R-001) has strong estrogen-degrading capabilities. Our study indicated that R-001 can use different types of estrogen as its sole carbon source for growth and metabolism, with final degradation rates above 90%. Transcriptome analysis showed that 720 (E1), 983 (E2), and 845 (EE2) genes were significantly upregulated in the estrogen-treated group compared with the control group, and 270 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were upregulated across all treatment groups. These DEGs included ABC transporters; estrogen-degrading genes, including those that perform initial oxidation and dehydrogenation reactions and those that further degrade the resulting substrates into small molecules; and metabolism genes that complete the intracellular transformation and utilization of estrogen metabolites through biological processes such as amino acid metabolism, lipid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, and the tricarboxylic acid cycle. In summary, the biodegradation of estrogens is coordinated by a metabolic network of estrogen-degrading enzymes, transporters, metabolic enzymes, and other coenzymes. In this study, the metabolic mechanisms by which Rhodococcus equi R-001 degrades various estrogens were analyzed for the first time. A new pollutant metabolism system is outlined, providing a starting point for the construction of engineered estrogen-degrading bacteria.

The energy-limited time-varying formation (ETVF) control problem of second-order multiagent systems (MAS) is addressed for both leaderless and leader-following communication topologies in this paper. Different from the previous results, the joint consideration of energy limitation and formation design is more challenging and practical. First, an ETVF control protocol is presented, and the total energy supply is pregiven and limited, which is more common in practical applications. Then, by an orthogonal transformation, the formation control problem is converted into the consensus stabilization problem for second-order leaderless MAS, where sufficient conditions for the ETVF are derived by joint design of control gains and the total energy. At the same time, the explicit formula that forms the formation center function is obtained to depict the macroscopic movement of the multiagent system as a whole. Moreover, the proposed method is also extended to the leader-following communication structure. Finally, two examples are given to verify the effectiveness of our theoretical results.

This paper discusses limited-budget time-varying formation design and analysis problems for a high-order linear swarm system with a fixed communication topology. Firstly, the communication topology among agents is modeled as an undirected and connected graph, and a new formation control protocol with an energy integral term is proposed to realize formation control and to guarantee the practical energy assumption is less than the limited energy budget. Then, by the matrix inequality tool, sufficient conditions for limited-budget formation design and analysis are proposed, respectively, which are scalable and checkable since they are independent of the number of agents of a swarm system and can be transformed into linear matrix inequality constraints. Moreover, an explicit expression of the formation center function is given, which contains the formation function part and the cooperative state part and is not associated with the derivatives of the formation functions. Finally, a numerical simulation is shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of theoretical results.

Abstract The perovskite oxide LaNiO3 is a promising oxygen electrocatalyst for renewable energy storage and conversion technologies. Here, it is shown that strontium substitution for lanthanum in coherently strained, epitaxial LaNiO3 films (La1−x SrxNiO3) significantly enhances the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity, resulting in performance at x = 0.5 comparable to the state‐of‐the‐art catalyst Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3−δ. By combining X‐ray photoemission and X‐ray absorption spectroscopies with density functional theory, it is shown that an upward energy shift of the O 2p band relative to the Fermi level occurs with increasing x in La1−xSrxNiO3. This alloying step strengthens Ni 3d–O 2p hybridization and decreases the charge transfer energy, which in turn accounts for the enhanced OER activity.
