Abstract Constructing composite solid electrolytes (CSEs) integrating the merits of inorganic and organic components is a promising approach to developing high‐performance all‐solid‐state lithium metal batteries (ASSLMBs). CSEs are now capable of achieving homogeneous and fast Li‐ion flux, but how to escape the trade‐off between mechanical modulus and adhesion is still a challenge. Herein, a strategy to address this issue is proposed, that is, intercalating highly conductive, homogeneous, and viscous‐fluid ionic conductors into robust coordination laminar framework to construct laminar solid electrolyte with homogeneous and fast Li‐ion conduction (LSE‐HFC). A 9 µm‐thick LSH‐HFC, in which poly(ethylene oxide)/succinonitrile is adsorbed by coordination laminar framework with metal–organic framework nanosheets as building blocks, is used here as an example to determine the validity. The Li‐ion transfer mechanism is verified and works across the entire LSE‐HFC, which facilitates homogeneous Li‐ion flux and low migration energy barriers, endowing LSE‐HFC with high ionic conductivity of 5.62 × 10−4 S cm−1 and Li‐ion transference number of 0.78 at 25 °C. Combining the outstanding mechanical strength against punctures and the enhanced adhesion force with electrodes, LSE‐HFC harvests uniform Li plating/stripping behavior. These enable the realization of high‐energy‐density ASSLMBs with excellent cycling stability when being assembled as LiFePO4/Li and LiNi0.6Mn0.2Co0.2O2/Li cells.

Abstract Visible light‐based human–machine interactive media is capable of transmitting electrical readouts to machines and providing intuitive feedback to users simultaneously. Currently, many inorganic mechanoluminescent (ML) materials‐based interactive media, typically ZnS‐loaded phosphors (ZLPs), have been successfully demonstrated. However, organic ML materials‐based solutions were rarely exploited despite their huge merits of strong structural modification, abundant luminescence property, low cost, easy preparation, and so on. Here, we propose a novel interactive tactile display (ITD) based on organic ML materials (Cz‐A6‐dye) and triboelectric nanogenerator, with ultra‐brightness (130% enhancement) and ultra‐low threshold pressure (57% reduction) as compared to ZLPs. The proposed ITD achieves the conversion of weak mechanical stimuli into visible light and electrical signals simultaneously, without extra power supplies. Furthermore, the relationship between the luminous performance of organic ML materials and mechanical force is quantified, benefiting from the uniform ML layer prepared. Enabled by convolutional neural networks, the high‐accuracy recognition (97.1%) for handwriting and identity of users is realized at the same time. Thus, the ITD has great potential for intelligent wearable electronics and classified military applications.

Abstract This paper proposes a wheeled mobile robot (WMR) robust control scheme. The feasible strategy is developed to achieve an efficient and robust autonomous mobile robot motion. To realize kinematic autonomous planning and control of the WMR, a novel controller is designed based on control Lyapunov function. This part can be divided into the following two aspects: 1) considering the nonholonomic constraints in the autonomous mobile robot trajectory tracking, a dynamic feedback‐linearization is adopted by utilizing differential flatness‐based integrated control framework to achieve full‐state controllability; 2) to compensate the structured uncertainties and slippage disturbances related to the robot kinematic model, a robust controller is designed based on control Lyapunov function with quadratic programming. Such a strategy can achieve autonomous motion even with unknown slippage disturbances subject to various constraints. Moreover, the sufficient condition is also analyzed to ensure the WMR system exponential stability. The effectiveness and performance of the proposed method are verified by numerical simulation.

Background. Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a type of cardiovascular disease which is one of the leading causes of death around the world. The presence of coronary stenosis is considered a pivotal indicator in the diagnosis of various CADs. The main purpose of this paper was to investigate the feasibility of an anchor-free deep learning (DL) method, fully convolutional one-stage object detection (FCOS), in coronary artery stenosis automatic detection. Methods. First, 2786 invasive coronary angiography (ICA) images from 130 patients were randomly divided into training, validation, and testing datasets using the 10-fold cross-validation approach. Then, FCOS was compared with other three widely used anchor-based DL models: single shot multibox detector (SSD), faster region-based convolutional network (Faster R-CNN), and you only look once (YOLOv3), in terms of precision, recall, F1 score, average precision (AP), and average recall (AR). Finally, the performances of different models in the detection of stenosis were compared in either single or multiple lesion scenarios using statistical tests. Results. FCOS achieved significantly superior precision (96.14% ± 0.53%), recall (94.36% ± 0.79%), F1 score (95.22% ± 0.56%), AP0.50 (93.36% ± 0.93%), AR0.50:0.95 (64.73% ± 1.46%), APsmall (55.04 ± 0.96%), APmedium (59.97 ± 1.13%), and APlarge (68.09 ± 5.18%) compared to Faster R-CNN and YOLOv3. Moreover, FCOS demonstrated significantly higher AR0.50:0.95 and APsmall compared to SSD. Regardless of the presence of single or multiple coronary stenoses in ICA images, FCOS also outperformed Faster R-CNN and YOLOv3. Furthermore, it showed significantly higher AR0.50:0.95 compared to SSD when in the multiple stenosis scenario. Conclusions. It is feasible to use the anchor-free DL model FCOS in detecting coronary stenosis based on ICA images.

Abstract Thermal management is of great significance for human activities. Attaining thermal comfort not only requires thermal control of building's macroenvironment, but also additionally personal thermal regulation. Radiative cooling technologies are anticipated to effectively lower building energy utilization and provide optimal thermal comfort for individuals in hot weather. Nevertheless, these static and single‐purpose characteristics lack the ability to adjust to rapidly changing weather conditions, often leading to excessive cooling. To overcome this challenge, the emergence of dual‐mode smart flipping technologies has provided a pathway for dynamically adjusting the heating or cooling of objects in response to fluctuations in ambient temperature. First, the underlying principles of dual‐mode smart flipping are shown. Then the evolving materials and approaches of smart flipping are given an introduction to adapt to different environments under external stimuli, such as mechanical flipping, temperature, humidity, and so forth. Afterward, we present the recent applications of dual‐mode smart flipping materials and devices in personal thermal management, thermoelectric generation, energy‐saving buildings, and smart windows. Finally, the challenges and outlook of dual‐mode smart flipping are presented and future directions are identified.

Abstract Pectin is identified as an effective delivery material due to its excellent gel‐forming ability, low immunogenic properties, biocompatibility, and biodegradability. These excellent properties depend on the preparation method of pectin. In the study, four pectin fractions (named: CAHP30, CAHP40, CAHP50, and CAHP60, respectively) were obtained by different ethanol precipitations (30%, 40%, 50%, and 60%). Physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity, and emulsifying ability of HP were investigated and analyzed. Results showed that the surface structure of pectin was changed by ethanol fractional precipitation, and four fractions were low methoxy pectin. They had different monosaccharide compositions, but all rich in GalA. The Mw/Mn of CAHP30, CAHP40, CAHP50, and CAHP60 were 3.29, 2.57, 2.66, and 2.77, respectively. CAHP30 and CAHP60 had excellent emulsifying ability; moreover, CAHP60 was endowed with additional lipid antioxidant capacity and had the best thermal stability. E‐CAHP40 exhibited a property between the entangled network structure. Overall, pectin with specific properties could be obtained by different ethanol concentrations.

Abstract Full‐color 3D printing technology has become more and more popular for industrial manufacturing applications. The voxelization of color 3D models and the expression of appearance colors become more and more important. To illustrate the complex appearance and internal characteristics of 3D models, we present a voxelization algorithm of the color 3D models for color 3D printing in this paper. Specifically, we use the 3D model of 3D Manufacturing Format (3MF) with color appearance features for surface voxelization first. Then, we propose an improved scan line filling algorithm to realize the voxelization of the interior of the model and obtain the color voxel model. Finally, to improve the high quality of color printing, we propose a surface color inward diffusion algorithm, which can make the surface color of the voxel model diffuse inward and further express the surface color of the voxel model. The experimental results show our proposed method can obtain an effective color voxel model and accurately express the color of the voxel model surface, which can enhance the color effect of the color model and realize the control of voxels.

Abstract Surveillance is an intricate challenge worldwide especially in those complicated environments such as nuclear plants, banks, crowded areas, barns, etc. Deploying self‐powered wireless sensor nodes can increase the system's event detection capabilities by collecting environmental changes, while the incompatibility among components (energy harvesters, sensors, and wireless modules) limits their application. Here, a broadly compatible self‐powered visualized platform (SPVP) is reported to construct a passive internet of events (IoE) network for surveillance systems. Abstract Hydrogen gas is recently proven to have anti‐oxidative and anti‐inflammation effects on ischemia‐reperfusion injury. However, the efficacy of hydrogen therapy is limited by the efficiency of hydrogen storage, targeted delivery, and controlled release. In this study, H2‐PFOB nanoemulsions (NEs) is developed with high hydrogen loading capacity for targeted ischemic myocardium precision therapy. The hydrogen‐carrying capacity of H2‐PFOB NEs is determined by gas chromatography and microelectrode methods. Positive uptake of H2‐PFOB NEs in ischemia‐reperfusion myocardium and the influence of hydrogen on 19F‐MR signal are quantitatively visualized using a 9.4T MR imaging system. The biological therapeutic effects of H2‐PFOB NEs are examined on a myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury mouse model. The results illustrated that the developed H2‐PFOB NEs can efficaciously achieve specific infiltration into ischemic myocardium and exhibit excellent antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory properties on myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury, which can be dynamically visualized by 19F‐MR imaging system. Moreover, hydrogen burst release induced by low‐intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) irradiation further promotes the therapeutic effect of H2‐PFOB NEs with a favorable biosafety profile. In this study, the potential therapeutic effects of H2‐PFOB NEs is fully unfolded, which may hold great potential for future hydrogen‐based precision therapeutic applications tailored to ischemia‐reperfusion injury.

Abstract Objectives Gliomas with comutations of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) genes and telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) gene promoter (IDHmut pTERTmut) show distinct biological features and respond to first‐line treatment differently in comparison with other gliomas. This study aimed to characterize the IDHmut pTERTmut gliomas in multimodal MRI using the radiomic method and establish a precise diagnostic model identifying this group of gliomas. Methods A total of 140 patients with untreated primary gliomas were admitted between 2016 and 2020 to West China Hospital as a discovery cohort, including 22 IDHmut pTERTmut patients. Thirty‐four additional cases from a different hospital were included in the study as an independent validation cohort. A total of 3654 radiomic features were extracted from the preoperative multimodal MRI images (T1c, FLAIR, and ADC maps) and filtered in a data‐driven approach. The discovery cohort was split into training and test sets by a 4:1 ratio. A diagnostic model (multilayer perceptron classifier) for detecting the IDHmut pTERTmut gliomas was trained using an automatic machine‐learning algorithm named tree‐based pipeline optimization tool (TPOT). The most critical radiomic features in the model were identified and visualized. Results The model achieved an area under the receiver‐operating curve (AUROC) of 0.971 (95% CI, 0.902–1.000), the sensitivity of 0.833 (95% CI, 0.333–1.000), and the specificity of 0.966 (95% CI, 0.931–1.000) in the test set. The area under the precision‐recall curve (AUCPR) was 0.754 (95% CI, 0.572–0.833) and the F1 score was 0.833 (95% CI, 0.500–1.000). In the independent validation set, the model reached 0.952 AUROC, 0.714 sensitivity, 0.963 specificity, 0.841 AUCPR, and 0.769 F1 score. MR radiomic features of the IDHmut pTERTmut gliomas represented homogenous low‐complexity texture in three modalities. Conclusions An accurate diagnostic model was constructed for detecting IDHmut pTERTmut gliomas using multimodal radiomic features. The most important features were associated with the homogenous simple texture of IDHmut pTERTmut gliomas in MRI images transformed using Laplacian of Gaussian and wavelet filters.

Abstract Charge transfer mechanisms of contact electrification (CE) are essential for widening applications of the triboelectric nanogenerator, and thus are widely studied by scientists around the world. However, the quantitative modeling of CE, especially that between polymers, is still lacking. Herein, a model was proposed to describe the contributions from different mechanisms, including electron transfer and mass transfer in polymer/polymer CE through the field‐assisted thermionic emission, where three groups of charge transfer mechanisms were distinguished by the polarity of the charge transfer and the corresponding electric field. The results indicated that the total generated charge in CE is actually much larger than the measured net surface charge, confirming the bidirectional material‐dependent charge transfer mechanisms between two surfaces, which is meaningful for understanding the millennium puzzle in triboelectrification and provides a new perspective for promoting the applications to tailor surface charge generation.

Abstract Mechanically interlocking structures that can enhance adhesion at the interface and regulate the stress distribution have been widely observed in biological systems. Inspired by the biological structures in the wings of beetles, we synthesized a holey graphene@SiO2 anode with strong mechanical interlocking, characterized it electrochemically, and explained its performance by finite element analysis and density functional calculations. The mechanically interlocking structure enhances lithium‐ion (Li+) storage by transmitting the strain from SiO2 to the holey graphene and by a mechano‐electrochemical coupling effect. The interlocking fit hinders the abscission of SiO2 and the distinctive structure reduces the stress and strain of SiO2 during (de)lithiation. The positive mechano‐electrochemical coupling effect preserves the amount of electrochemically active phase (LixSi) during cycles and facilitates Li+ diffusion. Therefore, the capacity shows only a slight attenuation after 8000 cycles (cycling stability), and the specific capacity is ~1200 mA h g−1 at 5 A/g (rate‐performance). This study furnishes a novel way to design high‐performance Li+/Na+/K+/Al3+ anodes with large volume expansion.

Abstract Objective To investigate the role of diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI) for diagnosis and posttreatment assessment of hepatic fungal infection in patients with acute leukemia. Methods Patients with acute leukemia and highly suspected hepatic fungal infection were collected in the study. All the patients underwent MRI examination, including initial and follow‐up DWI. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of the lesions and the normal liver parenchyma were compared using Student's t‐test. The ADC values of the hepatic fungal lesions of pretreatment and posttreatment were compared using paired t‐test. Results A total of 13 patients with hepatic fungal infections have enrolled this study. Hepatic lesions were rounded or oval shaped, measured from 0.3 to 3 cm in diameter. The lesions showed significantly hyperintense signal on DWI and markedly hypointense signal on the ADC map, reflecting a marked restricted diffusion. The mean ADC values of the lesions were significantly lower than those of normal liver parenchyma (1.08 ± 0.34 × 10−3 vs. 1.98 ± 0.12 × 10−3 mm2/s, p

Currently, 80%–90% of liver cancers are hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC). HCC patients develop insidiously and have an inferior prognosis. The methyltransferase-like (METTL) family principal members are strongly associated with epigenetic and tumor progression. The present study mainly analyzed the value of METTLs (METTL1/13/18/21A/23/25/2A/2B/5/6/9) and associated mRNA risk signature for HCC. METTLs expression is upregulated in HCC and is a poor prognostic factor in HCC. METTLs were upregulated in patients older than 60 and associated with grade. Except for METTL25, the remaining 10 genes were associated with the HCC stage, invasion depth (T). In addition, METTLs showed an overall alteration rate of 50%. Except for METTL13/2A/25/9, the expression of the other seven genes was significantly associated with overall survival, disease-specific survival, and progression-free survival. Multivariate studies have shown that METTL21A/6 can be an independent prognostic marker in HCC. A total of 664 mRNAs were selected based on Pearson correlation coefficient (R > 0.5), unsupervised consensus clustering, weighted coexpression network analysis, and univariate Cox analysis. These mRNAs were significantly associated with METTLs and were poor prognostic factors in HCC patients. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (lasso) was used to construct the best METTLs associated with mRNA risk signature. The mRNA risk signature was significantly associated with age, stage, and t grade. The mRNA high-risk group had higher TP53 and RB1 mutations. This study constructed a nomogram with the mRNA risk profile and clinicopathological features, which could better predict the OS of individuals with HCC. We also analyzed associations between METTLs and mRNA risk signatures in epithelial-mesenchymal transition, immune checkpoints, immune cell infiltration, tumor mutational burden, microsatellite instability, cancer stem cells, tumor pathways, and drug sensitivity. In addition, this study constructed a protein interaction network network including METTLs and mRNA risk signature genes related to tumor microenvironment remodeling based on single-cell sequencing. In conclusion, this study provides a theoretical basis for the mechanism, biomarker screening, and treatment of HCC.

At present, in the design of geotechnical structures, the allowable bearing capacity is mostly designed according to the safety factor specified in the design specification. However, there are two problems that have not yet been clearly explained in theory: (1) why is the safety factor listed in the standard is suitable for the design of geotechnical structures and (2) can the safety factor selected according to the specification guarantee the long-term stability of soil mass. In view of the above problems, according to the statistical law in the rheological properties of soil, the relationship between the shear stress level of the soil and the stability of the soil is studied, and the stable shear stress level of the soil is obtained. The research results show that the stable shear stress level of soil is the corresponding shear stress level under static earth pressure. This conclusion not only verifies the correctness of the theoretical finding that “the earth pressure on the structure develops toward the static earth pressure, and whether the ultimate safety of the geotechnical structure is related to its design bearing capacity is greater than the static earth pressure” in the design code of the retaining structure but also clarifies the source of the safety factor. By calculating the design bearing capacity of the geotechnical structure according to the static earth pressure, the geotechnical structure that maintains long-term stability can be designed, which provides a reliable method for the design of the permanent geotechnical structure.

Abstract Background Conventional MR imaging has limited value in identifying H3 K27M mutations. We aimed to investigate the capacity of quantitative MR imaging variables in identifying the H3 K27M mutation status of diffuse midline glioma. Materials and Methods Twenty‐three patients with H3 K27M mutation and thirty‐two wild‐type patients were recruited in this retrospective study, all of whom underwent multimodal MR imaging. Clinical data and quantitative MR imaging variables were explored by subgroup analysis stratified by age (juveniles and adults). Then, a logistic model for all patients was constructed to identify potential variables for predicting K27M mutation status. Besides, a retrospective validation set including 13 patients was recruited. The C‐index and F1 score were used to evaluate the performance of the prediction model. Results It turned out that patients with H3 K27M mutation were younger in the adult subgroup. In the mutation group, some relative apparent diffusion coefficient (rADC) histogram parameters and myo‐inositol/creatine plus phosphocreatine (Ins/tCr) ratio were lower than in the wild‐type group of both juveniles and adults (p

Abstract This paper proposes a control strategy integrating the non‐linear extended state observer (NLESO) and the non‐singular terminal sliding mode control (NTSMC) for the trajectory tracking of wheeled mobile robots subject to bounded disturbances. A new transformation method of chained model in terms of Lie derivative is presented to simplify the controller design. A specific NLESO combining linear term and non‐linear term is designed to estimate the disturbances with a faster convergence performance. A scheme for determining the gain range of NLESO is explicitly given to facilitate the tuning of experimental parameters. Meanwhile, the NTSMC achieves finite time convergence of the tracking error system and the chattering phenomenon in NTSMC is dramatically alleviated with the compensation from NLESO. The experimental results validate the strong robustness and good performance of the proposed control strategy.

Abstract Background The exact animal origin of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) remains obscure and understanding its host range is vital for preventing interspecies transmission. Methods Herein, we applied single‐cell sequencing to multiple tissues of 20 species (30 data sets) and integrated them with public resources (45 data sets covering 26 species) to expand the virus receptor distribution investigation. While the binding affinity between virus and receptor is essential for viral infectivity, understanding the receptor distribution could predict the permissive organs and tissues when infection occurs. Results Based on the transcriptomic data, the expression profiles of receptor or associated entry factors for viruses capable of causing respiratory, blood, and brain diseases were described in detail. Conserved cellular connectomes and regulomes were also identified, revealing fundamental cell‐cell and gene‐gene cross‐talks from reptiles to humans. Conclusions Overall, our study provides a resource of the single‐cell atlas of the animal kingdom which could help to identify the potential host range and tissue tropism of viruses and reveal the host‐virus co‐evolution.

Abstract In recent years, carbon dots (CDs), including carbon nanodots, carbonized polymer dots, carbon quantum dots, and graphene quantum dots have attracted a mounting interest as readily accessible, nontoxic, and relatively inexpensive carbon‐based nanomaterials. Yet, despite intense research for a number of years, a unifying picture is still lacking to clarify the exact definition, clear chemical structure, and unique optical properties of this family of nanomaterials. In this review, we systematically summarize the recent development of CDs from molecular design to related properties of excited states as well as their applications in optoelectronic devices and biology. We point out the current challenges, including exploring precise synthesis, clarifying the structure‐property relationship, and regulating singlet and triplet states of fluorescence, phosphorescence, and delayed fluorescence. Moreover, the structural optimization of optoelectronic devices, tumor targeting mechanism, selective imaging, and drug delivery of CDs are also highlighted. We hope that the information provided in this review will inspire more exciting research on CDs from a brand‐new perspective and promote practical application of CDs in multiple directions of current and future research.

Background Lp(a) (lipoprotein[a]) plays an important role in predicting cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery disease through its proatherogenic and prothrombotic effects. We hypothesized that prolonged dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) might be beneficial for patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention who had elevated Lp(a) levels. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Lp(a) on the efficacy and safety of prolonged DAPT versus shortened DAPT in stable patients with coronary artery disease who were treated with a drug‐eluting stent. Methods and Results We selected 3201 stable patients with CAD from the prospective Fuwai Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Registry, of which 2124 patients had Lp(a) ≤30 mg/dL, and 1077 patients had Lp(a) >30 mg/dL. Patients were divided into 4 groups according to Lp(a) levels and the duration of DAPT therapy (≤1 year versus >1 year). The primary end point was major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular event, defined as a composite of all‐cause death, myocardial infarction, or stroke. The median follow‐up time was 2.5 years. Among patients with elevated Lp(a) levels, DAPT >1 year presented lower risk of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular event and definite/probable stent thrombosis compared with DAPT ≤1 year. In contrast, in patients with normal Lp(a) levels, the risks of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular event and definite/probable stent thrombosis were not significantly different between the DAPT >1 year and DAPT ≤1 year groups. Prolonged DAPT had 2.4‐times higher risk of clinically relevant bleeding than shortened DAPT in patients with normal Lp(a) levels, although without statistical difference. Conclusions In stable patients with coronary artery disease, who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention with a drug‐eluting stent, prolonged DAPT was associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular events among those with elevated Lp(a) levels, whereas it did not show statistically significant evidence of benefit for reducing ischemic events and tended to increase clinically relevant bleeding among those with normal Lp(a) levels.

No one has proved that mathematically general stochastic dynamical systems have a special structure. Thus, we introduce a structure of a general stochastic dynamical system. According to scientific understanding, we assert that its deterministic part can be decomposed into three significant parts: the gradient of the potential function, friction matrix and Lorenz matrix. Our previous work proved this structure for the low-dimension case. In this paper, we prove this structure for the high-dimension case. Hence, this structure of general stochastic dynamical systems is fundamental.

Due to the poor performance of ordinary Portland cement (OPC) as a solidified soil road and the large pollution in the production process, environment-friendly magnesium oxychloride cement (MOC) was used as the soil curing agent to prepare the solidified soil, exploring the optimal ratio of various raw materials when MOC is used as a curing agent. Analyzing the properties of MOC solidified soil in the application of road subgrade. This paper tests compaction, mechanical properties, and durability of the MOC solidified soil, simulates the development trend of 7 days unconfined compressive strength of MOC solidified soil, and then analyzes the hydration process and strengthens the formation mechanism of MOC in solidified soil. The study found that the addition of MOC as a curing agent to the soil can effectively improve the compaction and mechanical properties of the soil. Matlab simulation found that when the MgO content is 5.5% to 6% and the ratio of raw materials MgO, MgCl2, and H2O is 2.45 : 1 : 14 to 6.3 : 1 : 14, the performance of MOC solidified soil is excellent. Fitting UCS data, it is found that MOC solidified soil has early strength characteristics. The excellent compaction and mechanical properties of MOC solidified soil are due to the formation of a small amount of phase 5 and layered Mg(OH)2 by the hydration of MOC, and the formation of amorphous gel with SiO2 in the soil. This reaction improves soil compaction and reduces internal porosity from a microscopic perspective. The strength loss rate of MOC solidified soil is higher after immersion in water at the initial stage of curing, but it is still better than that of traditional cement-based solidified soil. Poor performance after immersion in water is associated with disruption of the network-like structure. As an environment-friendly soil curing agent, MOC can be used in engineering practice with low environmental humidity.

Abstract Background Immune cells play important roles in mediating immune response and host defense against invading pathogens. However, insights into the molecular mechanisms governing circulating immune cell diversity among multiple species are limited. Methods In this study, we compared the single‐cell transcriptomes of immune cells from 12 species. Distinct molecular profiles were characterized for different immune cell types, including T cells, B cells, natural killer cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells. Results Our data revealed the heterogeneity and compositions of circulating immune cells among 12 different species. Additionally, we explored the conserved and divergent cellular crosstalks and genetic regulatory networks among vertebrate immune cells. Notably, the ligand and receptor pair VIM‐CD44 was highly conserved among the immune cells. Conclusions This study is the first to provide a comprehensive analysis of the cross‐species single‐cell transcriptome atlas for peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). This research should advance our understanding of the cellular taxonomy and fundamental functions of PBMCs, with important implications in evolutionary biology, developmental biology, and immune system disorders.

The introduction of soluble calcium additives contributes to forming calcium-containing geopolymer (N,C)-A-S-H and/or calcium (alumino)silicate hydration C-(A)-S-H in alkali-activated fly ash-based composites (AAFCs). However, the quantitative determination of the final gel product has yet been unclear due to the different chemical components, which influences the prediction of mechanical strength and microstructure. This study aims to propose a method to clarify the gel products in AAFCs by the critical elemental compositions in gel products. Furthermore, the AAFCs were prepared (by casting method) using soda residue (SR) as the calcium additive, fly ash as the aluminosilicate precursor, and sodium silicate solution as the alkaline activator. The compressive strengths of the AAFCs with different SR contents were recorded. The microstructures and gel products of AAFCs were detected through scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and 29Si nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer (29Si NMR). Finally, the proposed determination method was verified with the experimental results. The new proposed quantitative method refers to a limit value of 2Ca/Al = 1.00 about the critical chemical elements in gel products, which helps to determine the calcium-containing geopolymer (N,C)-A-S-H or/and calcium (alumino)silicate hydration C-(A)-S-H in stable AAFCs. Results show that the gel products are determined as single (N,C)-A-S-H gels when 2Ca/Al is lower than 1.00; meanwhile, (N,C)-A-S-H and C-(A)-S-H gels coexist when 2Ca/Al is higher than 1.00 by the above proposed quantitative determination method. Furthermore, it works that the industrial solid waste SRs regarded as calcium additive are applied in the AAFCs to verify the gel products by 2Ca/Al = 1.00 as the limit value. The results provide the theoretical and experimental basis for the performance prediction and microstructural determination.

Abstract Background Features in preoperative ultrasound could predict the prognosis of triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC), while its prognostic value in other molecular subtypes of breast cancer (BC) was unknown. The study aimed to assess the prognostic value of preoperative sonographic features, including orientations, on long‐term outcomes in BC and its association with different molecular subtypes. Methods Women diagnosed with invasive BC > 5 mm who underwent surgery were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical, pathological, and sonographic profiles were collected and recurrence‐free survival (RFS) and breast cancer‐specific survival (BCSS) were reported. Interactions between clinicopathological features and tumor orientations in predicting RFS and BCSS were analyzed. Competing risk model was performed to estimate prognostic values of sonographic features for RFS and BCSS. Results A total of 2812 patients were included. With a median follow‐up of 60.0 months, 268 (9.5%) patients suffered from recurrences and 104 (3.7%) died of BC. The prognostic values of vertical orientation in predicting RFS (P = .001) and BCSS (P = .001) were strongly associated with molecular subtypes. Non‐TNBC tumors with vertical orientation had less recurrence events compared with parallel orientation (6.3% vs 8.7%, P = .035), whereas failed to predict disease outcomes in multivariate analysis (P > .05). The majority of clinically diagnosed cutaneous T‐cell lymphomas (CTCL) highly express the cell‐surface markers CC chemokine receptor 4 (CCR4) and/or CD25. Recently, we have developed diphtheria toxin‐based recombinant Ontak®‐like human IL2 fusion toxin (IL2 fusion toxin) and anti‐human CCR4 immunotoxin (CCR4 IT). In this study, we first compared the efficacy of the CCR4 IT vs IL2 fusion toxin for targeting human CD25+CCR4+ CTCL. We demonstrated that CCR4 IT was more effective than IL2 fusion toxin. We further constructed an IL2‐CCR4 bispecific IT. The bispecific IT was significantly more effective than either IL2 fusion toxin or CCR4 IT alone. The bispecific IT is a promising novel targeted therapeutic drug candidate for the treatment of refractory and recurrent human CD25+ and/or CCR4+ CTCL.

Abstract The color‐tuning capability of solid‐state lighting (SSL) systems are highly demanded for smart lighting according to the environmental conditions, as well as wireless sensing of the environmental information. In the meanwhile, state‐of‐the‐art triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG)‐based sensing systems rely on bulky and expensive devices, which require cable connections and additional power consumptions. This work aims at solving these challenges, through developing a tribo‐induced color tuner that can be integrated into the vastly distributed commercial SSL system. This tribo‐induced color tuner includes a concentric color conversion plate consisting of (Sr,Ca)AlSiN3:Eu phosphor and TiO2, a tribo‐induced liquid lens, and a rotary freestanding sliding TENG. The color oscillation between purple and pink is achieved upon the tribo‐charging by the TENG, which reveals the input mechanical motion signals. The signal can be conveniently sent by everywhere‐existed lamps and processed by everyone‐owned smartphone cameras or closed‐circuit televisions. Through this approach, the function of wireless sensing is achieved without the need of preamplification, with no additional power supply required, as demonstrated for wireless sensing of the rotation speed. The smart lighting for underwater photographing is also demonstrated by the color‐tunable SSL system with the best imaging quality achieved.

Although the effects of microwave exposure on the heart have gradually become the focus of domestic and foreign scholars, the biological effects caused by different doses and different frequency bands of exposure are still unclear. In this study, we will investigate the damaging effect of S-band and X-band microwave composite exposure on cardiac structure and function, as well as the pathophysiological significance of Cx43 in cardiac conduction dysfunction after exposure. We used S- and X-band radiation sources with the average power density of 5 and 10 mW/cm2 to expose Wistar rats to single or composite exposure. At the 6th hour, on the 7th, 14th, and 28th days after exposure, ECG was used to detect the electrical conduction of the heart, and the myocardial enzyme was measured by the automatic biochemical analyzer. We selected the observation time points and groups with severe damage to observe the changes of myocardial structure and ultrastructure with an optical microscope and TEM; and to detect the expression and distribution of Cx43 by western blotting and immunohistochemistry. After exposure, the heart rate increased, the P wave amplitude decreased, and the R wave amplitude increased; the content of the myocardial enzyme in serum increased; the structure and ultrastructure of cardiac tissue were damaged. The damage was dose-dependent and frequency-dependent. The expression of Cx43 in myocardial tissue decreased, and distribution was abnormal. Taken together, these findings suggested that the mechanism of abnormal electrical conduction in the heart of rats by S- and X-band microwave exposure might be related to the decreased expression and disordered distribution of Cx43 after microwave exposure.

This paper analyzes the utility calculation principle of travelers from the perspective of mental accounting and proposes a travel choice behavior model that considers travel time and cost (MA-TC model). Then, a questionnaire is designed to analyze the results of the travel choice under different decision-making scenarios. Model parameters are estimated using nonlinear regression, and the utility calculation principles are developed under different hypothetical scenarios. Then, new expressions for the utility function under deterministic and risky conditions are presented. For verification, the nonlinear correlation coefficient and hit rate are used to compare the proposed MA-TC model with the other two models: (1) the classical prospect theory with travel time and cost (PT-TC model) and (2) mental accounting based on the original hedonic editing criterion (MA-HE model). The results show that model parameters under deterministic and risky conditions are pretty different. In the deterministic case, travelers have similar sensitivity to the change in gain and loss of travel time and cost. The prediction accuracy of the MA-TC model is 3% lower than the PT-TC model and 6% higher than the MA-HE model. Under risky conditions, travelers are more sensitive to the change in loss than to the change in gain. Additionally, travelers tend to overestimate small probabilities and underestimate high probabilities when losing more than when gaining. The prediction accuracy of the MA-TC model is 2% higher than the PT-TC model and 6% higher than the MA-HE model.

Recently, we have developed a diphtheria toxin‐based recombinant anti‐human CCR4 immunotoxin for targeting CCR4+ tumors and Tregs. In this study, we further optimized the dosing schedule for improved CCR4+ Treg depletion. We have demonstrated that up to a 90% depletion was achieved and the depletion extended to approximately 2 weeks in the peripheral blood and more than 48 days in the lymph node at 25 μg·kg−1, BID for 8 consecutive days in cynomolgus monkeys. Expansion was observed including monocytes and NK cells. Antibody against the CCR4 immunotoxin was detected after approximately 2 weeks, affecting further depletion efficacy for multiple course treatment.
