Quick response to organized crime syndicates is needed, and electronic surveillance is a serious impediment to the operation of organized crime.

The article focuses on the effectiveness of educational television as a medium of instruction. Television instruction is as effective as customary instruction. Research is being undertaken to identify methods and techniques that can be used for television instruction. A research study was conducted in thirty public schools in Cincinnati, Ohio, to compare the effectiveness of television instruction with conventional teaching.

Abstract

The article focuses on a study where television were used as a medium of instruction in teaching six-grade science students in Cincinnati, Ohio. Several studies on the effectiveness of television education are discussed. Cincinnati public schools conducted a research in 1958-59 which showed significant improvement in both above average and below average students. However, average students did not show any significant change. Effectiveness of the method of instruction varied from one student to another.
