Na perspectiva etológica, padrões de brincadeira e de parceria social são características típicas de cada espécie, conferindo ao fenômeno regularidade e certa universalidade, embora em interação com as condições ambientais presentes. Como o ambiente de creches afeta esses padrões? Este estudo objetivou a descrição dos padrões de parceria social e tipos de brincadeiras, em crianças de um a três anos. Foram filmadas 62 crianças, de creches públicas e privadas, brincando nos ambientes cotidianos das creches. Amostras das observações foram categorizadas nas dimensões tipo de parceria social e tipo de brincadeira, registrando-se suas freqüências, as quais foram relacionadas às variáveis sexo, idade, tempo na creche, tipo de creche e densidade, analisando-se os resultados através de ANOVA e correlação. Todas as variáveis mostraram associação com algumas das categorias de preferência por parceiros e tipos de brincadeiras. Os resultados são discutidos na perspectiva etológica, que atribui à brincadeira motivação intrínseca e sensibilidade às condições ambientais.In an ethological perspective, patterns of social partnership and types of play are species-specific, which produces regularity and a certain degree of universality in the phenomena, although in interaction with actual environment conditions. How does the day care center environment affect these patterns? This study aimed at describing patterns of social partnership and kinds of play among 1-3 year old children, in different types of daycare centers. We observed 62 children, from public and private centers, during their daily play activities. Samples of the observations were categorized into the dimensions type of partnerships and type of play; frequencies were related with the variables sex, age, time in daycare center, type of daycare center and population density, through ANOVA and correlation tests. All the selected variables showed effects on some of categories of preference in partnership and kind of play. These results are discussed from the ethological perspective that attributes intrinsic motivation and sensitivity to environment conditions.

Este estudo apresenta a análise de conteúdo da Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale-ITERS. Duas especialistas brasileiras em educação infantil analisaram a pertinência de cada um dos 35 itens da ITERS para avaliar a qualidade de ambientes educacionais oferecidos para crianças de 0 a 30 meses. Considerando-se os 70 itens avaliados, verificou-se que em 69 houve indicação de permanência e apenas uma sugestão de exclusão. As indicações de permanência dos itens foram classificadas nas seguintes categorias: Permanência sem sugestões de alterações (56%); Permanência com sugestão de adequação de termos, de materiais ou de situações (19%); Permanência com sugestão de acréscimo de esclarecimentos (11%); Permanência com alterações de estrutura ou de conteúdo (10%). O alto índice de acordo obtido entre as juízas (97%) quanto à permanência de 34 itens sugere a pertinência da ITERS, representada pelos 35 itens, para avaliar a qualidade do atendimento oferecido em ambientes educacionais coletivos em nosso contexto.This study presents an analysis of content of the Infant / Toddler Environment Rating Scale - ITERS. Two Brazilian experts in child education analyzed the pertinence of each of the 35 items of the ITERS to assess the quality of educational environments offered to children 0 - 30 months years old. Considering the 70 items assessed, it was verified that in 69 of them there was indication of permanency, and only one suggestion of exclusion. The indications of permanency of the items were thus classified: permanency without suggestions of alterations (56%); permanency with suggestion of adaptation of terms, materials or situations (19%); permanency with suggestion of adding clarifications (11%); permanency with structural or content alterations (10%). The high index of agreement obtained between the two experts (97%) as to the permanency of 34 items, suggests the pertinence of the ITERS, represented by the 35 items, to assess the quality of care offered in collective educational environments in our context.

Este trabalho visa investigar o contexto de alimentação em díades adulto-bebê, a partir de uma abordagem sociocultural. Seu principal objetivo consistiu na comparação das atividades de um bebê e seu cuidador na creche nos primeiros dois anos de vida, durante a alimentação. Foram realizadas entrevistas com os cuidadores e registros em vídeo durante a alimentação do bebê. Os dados foram analisados em termos da percentagem de ocorrências das atividades e interações, e dos scripts. Os resultados indicaram que durante os momentos em que a criança é alimentada, trocas interativas ocorrem e são essenciais para seu desenvolvimento como membro da cultura da qual faz parte.The aim of this study was to investigate feeding in a dyad baby-adult from a sociocultural point of view. The main objective was to compare the activities of a baby and the caregiver in a nursery school, during feeding times. Interviews with the caregivers were carried out and some videotapes were recorded while the babies were fed. The data were analyzed in relation to the quantity of interaction and activities that were developed and also the scripts. The results showed that while children are fed interactions occur, and they are essential for the child development as a member of the culture of which he/she is part.
