The article explores the problems of students’ motivation and its influence on educational effectiveness, considering the importance of motivation for young people’s personal and professional development. The significance and functions of motivation in various aspects of students’ activity were studied (including social conditions of their life). The leading educational motives of people entering a professional educational institution are “professional” ones, but the role of motives changes within the period of study. This process is considerably influenced by vocational guidance work, the organization of industrial practice, along with the possibility of further employment. The research purpose is to study the specifics of developing students’ educational motivation at theoretical and empirical levels. The research methodology and its algorithm include conducting a complex psychological and pedagogical experiment by assessing the participants’ motivation before and after the implementation of the training programme. Today, it is not sufficient to provide a student with certain knowledge. Much attention is paid to forming his/her professional readiness, which we consider as a personal quality and an essential prerequisite for effective postgraduate activity. Students’ professional readiness will help them to successfully fulfill their duties, use knowledge and experience, maintain self-control, be effective when solving production tasks and adapt to continuously evolving conditions of work. Students’ professional readiness includes the motivational component, which is expressed in the system of stable attitudes and motives. The effectiveness of developing students’ educational motivation is due to a number of pedagogical conditions, primarily the use of training as a method of increasing students’ motivation.

This study examines the problems of the development of students’ creative abilities, their structure and specifics, similarities and differences from creativity. The aim of the research is theoretical and empirical consideration of the specifics of students’ creative abilities and their development. The problems of the essence of creative abilities, the role of their formation in the young age, specific methods and techniques are revealed. The research methodology and its algorithm were selected due to the purpose of the study. Experimental work included a complex psychological and pedagogical experiment, consisting of the indicative, formative and control stages. The study of students’ creative abilities was carried out on the basis of the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education “The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia” (RUDN). An experimental and a control group were formed, each included 45 people, the sampling is valid for all significant characteristics. The results of the study allow us to conclude that the training forms are especially effective in the development of students’ creative abilities. The level of development of the teacher’s creative abilities is a significant factor in the formation of students’ creative abilities.

The article presents the results of a study of the Soft Skills development in the activities of student societies. The purpose of the article is the theoretical and empirical study of the Soft Skills development in the activities of student societies. The research methodology and its algorithm were selected due to the purpose of the study. To solve the research questions posed, we compiled a list of student societies of the Mytischi Branch (MB) of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. It included 87 student societies, which were classified according to the type of their activity. The hypothesis of the research is that a close connection between student societies stimulates members of one society to be interested in the activities of associate societies, thereby acquiring new skills within the framework of this activity, among which there are so-called Soft Skills. Student societies can form both general, characteristic of all student organizations, and specific skills, characteristic of certain types of activity. In the course of the research work, all possible student societies were identified and classified. Next, we built a network map of the interaction among student societies. Also, using a targeted sample, 9 student societies were selected, representing different fields of activity. The leaders of these societies were interviewed using a semi-formalized interview method. The statutory documents on the activities of the societies under consideration were analyzed using the traditional method of document analysis.

The article examines the essence, role and significance of professional thinking within lawyers’ professional development, making a special emphasis on the specifics of evolving law students’ professional thinking. The research purpose is a theoretical and empirical study of the developmental specifics of law students’ professional thinking. Besides, there is a focus on the structure and features of lawyers’ professional thinking as a special professionally important quality. The authors conduct a comprehensive analysis of the developmental specifics of law students’ professional thinking, propose their own definition of this concept and consider its structure and structural components. The analysis of relevant literature contributed to studying the validity of the chosen topic. The article also reflects the methodology of research and its algorithm that include conducting a complex psychological and pedagogical experiment, assessing the declared parameters and fulfilling the statistical analysis of the results based on methods such as variance analysis, correlation analysis using Marsch’s I coefficient, Friedman’s R coefficient and Kruskal – Wallis H-criterion. The research base was the International Law Institute (Moscow, Russia). The experimental and control groups of subjects were formed, numbering 60 people representative in gender, etc. The results of the study demonstrate the effectiveness of combining trainings, special courses and the evolvement of formal-logical reasoning within the development of law students’ professional thinking.

The article considers the role and influence of professional creativity on the professional activities as an expression of the teacher’s creative abilities. The purpose of the article is a theoretical and empirical study of the influence of professional creativity on the effectiveness of a teacher’s professional activity. Attention is paid to the place and importance of creativity in the activities of a teacher. Based on an analysis of current literary sources, the phenomenon of professional creativity of a teacher is highlighted, a definition of this concept is given, and its structure and components are considered. The research methodology and its algorithm include a complex psychological and pedagogical experiment, diagnosing the stated parameters and statistical analysis of the results based on Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. The study of teachers’ creativity was carried out on the basis of the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education “The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia” (RUDN) at the Center for Continuing Professional Education. For research purposes, an experimental and a control group were formed. Each group consisted of 35 teachers. The sample was homogeneous by age and gender. The results of the study allow us to conclude that there is a strong relationship between the professional creativity of a teacher and the effectiveness of the professional performance, which is confirmed by the results of statistical processing of the data obtained.

According to the Federal State Educational Standards of Secondary Vocational Education (FSES SVE), graduates should master general and professional competencies according to the specialty. Students should acquire a certain set of knowledge and skills and gain practical experience in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard through the study of professional modules. The professional modules are subdivided into interdisciplinary courses. In practice, the challenges in the educational process of secondary vocational education are in the development of general competencies. General competencies include the ability to apply acquired knowledge, skills and practical experience in solving general problems in a wide field of activity. Professional competency is the ability to apply the knowledge, skills and experience gained in solving professional problems in particular activities. The competency-based approach corresponds to the demands of society and employers for specialists capable to apply knowledge in practice, to independently set tasks and solve them in specific situations. Based on the foregoing, the technology for the development of critical thinking is able to satisfy the needs of teachers and students in the conditions of a competency-based approach. The development of thinking skills and abilities of students in the educational process is necessary not only during vocational training or in professional activity, but also in everyday life. This is especially important in the unstable economic and political situation in the Russian Federation and the world at the present time, when it is necessary to quickly, sometimes even radically reorganize their career under the prevailing circumstances. At present, however, the acquired knowledge does not guarantee a university graduate stability of success throughout his/her career. Thus, the concept of lifelong education was gradually formed. From the previously established stereotype “education for life”, society is moving to the “education throughout life”. The traditional division of a person’s active life into the period of professional activity and study is blurring. There is a need for a transition to continuing professional education throughout life. One of the most important tasks for the management is to ensure the continuous development and survival of the organizations. Such a task is also vital for the institutions of additional professional education. With the transition to the newly established market relations, in the Russian Federation, the conditions for the operation of the system of additional professional education have changed significantly. First of all, a market for services in the field of additional professional education has emerged, where a large number of organizations of various forms of ownership operate, creating strong competition. In these conditions, the maximum consideration of different factors influencing on the additional professional education institutions, as well as the choice of a management strategy, is an important condition for their successful development and competitiveness. The demand of society for an effective system of additional vocational education determines its place and role in the state policy in relation to the development of human resources. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the challenges of the labor market, the increasing needs of production, the real sector of the economy, the non-production sphere in qualified workers, specialists, managers, as well as training and re-training of unemployed citizens.

One of the basic features of the modern educational systems is the training of highly qualified education managers. The most important place in the training of education managers is occupied by pedagogical technologies aimed at mastering the necessary competencies in economics, management, psychology and related disciplines. Comprehensive changes in Russian education are aimed at meeting the requirements of the modern economy and society. At the same time, the main vector in this area is the coordination of the content and component composition of professional training with the demands of the labor market and with the urgent need to increase the availability of high-quality educational services. Public experience demonstrates that objective reality makes significant adjustments to the professional training and education. Therefore, teachers should acknowledge and reflect in their professional activities all the new requirements presented by society in a timely manner. In the context of professional education, intensive search is carried out for adequate forms and methods to improve the effectiveness of education. In this regard, the practical value of simulation methods and technologies, aimed at revealing the creative potential of a future specialist, their individual and professional properties and the ability to function successfully in the new economic conditions, is increasing. Educational technologies as mechanisms for the joint activity of the teacher and students are aimed at the development of certain skills and abilities, as well as personal and professional development. The teacher should correctly apply educational technologies and methods to provide quality training for competent professionals. The variety of these methods is proposed to encourage intrinsic motivation, a lively interest of students in learning and self-development. The competencies of a qualified specialist and the criteria that he/she must meet have become the basis for creating a generalized concept of a professional.
