- Abstract
Dinah Silveira de Queiroz (São Paulo, 1911-1982), in a literary career of more than 40 years, has produced a wide and diversified work. Although she is better known for her chronicles, the author had an intense production of novels and short stories, besides having written a biography and a theater play. Despite her extensive work and the active role in the literary and cultural field - the writer also exercised diplomatic functions and had a fundamental role for that the women were admitted as members of Academia Brasileira de Letras (Brazilian Academy of Letters) -, nowadays Dinah is little read and studied inside the Brazilian literature. Her most recently edited books date from the years of 2012 - Verão dos infiéis - and 2000 - A muralha. Before these ones, there were only some editions in the early 1990s. In relation to the research, studies found about the work of Dinah are scarce, according to what can be proved, for example, in a search in the bank of thesis and dissertations of CAPES. From such findings, arises the questioning about the presence (or not) of Dinah Silveira de Queiroz in the history of Brazilian literature. For this, there were chosen 11 books of reference that deal with the subject and, among these, it was identified the presence of the author in 10 works. Thus, the objective of this study is to investigate how it is the pathway of the author in these works, seeking to verify how Queiroz is present, and which is the approach given to her literature.
