Molecular dynamics simulations are used to study the dissociation inhibiting mechanism of lecithin for structure I hydrates. Adsorption characteristics of lecithin and PVP (poly (N-vinylpyrrolidine)) on the hydrate surfaces were performed in the NVT ensemble at temperatures of 277K and the hydrate dissociation process were simulated in the NPT ensemble at same temperature. The results show that hydrate surfaces with lecithin is more stable than the ones with PVP for the lower potential energy. The conformation of lecithin changes constantly after the balanced state is reached while the PVP molecular dose not. Lecithin molecule has interaction with lecithin nearby and hydrocarbon-chains of lecithin molecules will form a network to prevent the diffusion of water and methane molecules, which will narrow the available space for hydrate methane and water movement. Compared with PVP-hydrate simulation, analysis results (snapshots and mass density profile) of the dissociation simulations show that lecithin-hydrate dissociates more slowly.

Type-I clathrates have been considered as very promising thermoelectric (TE) materials thus attracting attention widely. Here we report new clathrates Ba8CuxSiyGe46-x-y (4≤ x ≤ 6.5, y = 0 and 5.15 ≤ x ≤ 6.425, 2.05≤ y ≤ 36.9), focusing on their phase purity and TE properties. Our results show that samples prepared by arc melting followed by annealing are multi-phases alloys. The composition of the clathrate phase is also inhomogeneous. This indicates that the kinetic factor dominates the reaction of forming the clathrate phase during element-melting and sample-annealing. We select three compositions in these two series of samples, which have less impurity and better composition homogeneity for the clathrate phase, and the annealed alloys are furthered processed by ball milling (BM) and powder-solidification (either by hot pressing (HP) or by spark plasma sintering (SPS)) for TE properties investigations. The BM and HP/SPS processes can improve the phase purity and homogeneity. The TE measurements show that the Si-substituted samples have better performance than the Ge-based sample, mainly by decreasing the electrical resistivity. This indicates that the elemental substitution may be still an effective way to improve the TE performance of clathrates.

Nanostructured Ba-Cu-Si clathrate powders were synthesized by mechanical milling using different amounts of process control agent (PCA). We investigated systematically the effects of PCA on the phase constitution and crystallite size of nanopowders using X-ray diffraction (XRD) as well as the particle size and morphology by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The PCA increases the powder yield by reducing the powder agglomeration. No detectable reaction occurred between the PCA and the clathrate phase, and thus the composition of the clathrate phase is unchanged after milling. Compared to the powders milled without PCA, the crystalline size of powders with PCA is reduced from about 70 to about 50 nm.

The power energy storage in battery transfers to capacitors through thyristor in hybrid energy storage, which makes the instantaneous power amplified. As the switch in Hybrid energy storage, the thyristor must satisfy its opening requirements , besides, the characteristics of the hybrid energy storage system is considered to design the width of trigger pulse, otherwise the thyristor can’t be opened that leads to failure of energy transfer. In this paper, the model of the system is established, the function of current to time is derived from the model, and then the minimum width of trigger pulse is calculated out. The simulation and experiment results are presented, which match with the designation well.

Basing on governing Maxwell and energy equation of rail gun considering armature movement in two dimension, The total domain to be solved is divided into two subdomains: moving (armature) part and static (rail) part, finite element formulations of two subdomains are built independently, then using the interface condition of two subdomains, formulations are connected by coupled equation which is derived out by penalty method. Shifted physical quantity is used to simulate movement. The final magnetic-thermal coupled fields finite element formulations of rail gun are established by these methods. Numerical calculation results compared by theoretical and other numerical results verify that penalty method is an effective way to deal with electric sliding contact problem associating with Shifted physical quantity method.

This paper proposes a new method of applying nonbinary network coding in wireless broadcast network. This network consists of T(T>2) users who receive common information independently from a common base station (BS). We assume that the transmission blocks are subject to block-fading with independent fading coefficients for each block, nonbinary network codes over finite fields are used on top of channel codes. We take two kinds of schemes, with ACK and without ACK, into consideration. In the first situation while considering ACK mechanism, the forward error correction (FEC) and retransmitted techniques are used and network code (NC) can diminish the retransmit count significantly. In the second situation while utilizing broadcast nature without ACK, the NC could help to rebuild losing packets, thus decrease block error ratio. We analyze the delay performance and block error ratio, and verify the analytical performance with simulation. Both simulation and analysis confirm the advantage of proposed scheme.

Indoor air quality in a public transport interchange station in rush hour has been studied. Carbon monoxide is selected as the main pollutant for description of air quality. Ventilation systems, bus traffic and passenger flow, air quality have been investigated by on-site survey. Large eddy simulation technology has been used to analyze indoor air quality of public transport interchange station. The boundary conditions are determined according to the measured date. Indoor air quality results at heights of 0.8m and 1.6m in rush hour and two operating conditions of public transport interchange station are calculated. Results have shown carbon monoxide concentrations at height of 0.8m are higher than those at height of 1.6m. Air quality would reach the harmful degree within 5min to 10min if the ventilation system is not operating. The ventilation system should be operated continuously during the peak hour in order to meet the requirement of indoor air quality standards.

Due to the ability of the strong anti-interference and directly digital controlling, digital valve has great applications and developing potential in the filed of high frequency response digital servo valve. Base on the rotating structure, a novel high frequency digital valve which can be rotated and controlled in differential parallel way is designed, and the frequency characteristic of electrical signals converting into rotation signals is developed through differential and parallel control of valve spool and valve sleeve. Meanwhile, the hydraulic natural frequency of servo-screw mechanism is further enhanced by the control way of hydraulic half-bridge type A in both chambers of valve spool, and corresponding mathematical model and control block diagram are built. Theoretical analysis concludes that the frequency response characteristic of digital valve is developed significantly. In addition, the multi-gain of rotation angle and axial displacement of valve spool is realized through milling the spiral grooves with different helix angles in the inside of valve sleeve, which improves the flow adaptability of high frequency digital valve effectively. Compared to traditional rotary digital valve, the designed novel digital valve that can be controlled by rotating differentially and parallel has greater advantages in high frequency response and flow adaptability, it provides a new scheme for engineering applications of high frequency digital valve.

The microhardness and microstructure of Ti-24Al-15Nb-1.5Mo/TC11 dual alloy joining interface processed by different heat treatment regimes were investigated. The results show that the microhardness of the weld zone and Ti-24Al-15Nb-1.5Mo alloy side of the dual alloy processed by gradient heat treatment are higher than that of the specimen processed by balance heat treatment. Moreover, the microstructure differences between the specimens processed by gradient heat treatment and balance heat treatment are very obvious, particularly in the interface between the TC11 alloy and the weld zone. While the joining interface is processed by gradient heat treatment, the microstructure change homogeneously, and the demarcation lines are ambiguous. However, for the joining interface processed by balance heat treatment, the demarcation lines are very obvious, and the microstructure of the TC11 alloy side is bi-morphic, the lath is short and coarse. Therefore, the interface integrity of the dual alloy processed by gradient heat treatment is better, which is an adoptable method to improve the properties of the dissimilar alloy joining interface.

The traditional methods for the prediction of fatigue life of metallic material consider only the two processes of fatigue initiation and fatigue cracking, while the process from fatigue cracking to breaking has been neglected. This paper provides one new method of estimating the fatigue life of under-constant-amplitude loading spectrum---non-local gradient damage enhancement model method. Based on the finite element procedure and the partial damage model, this method inserts the non-local strain's definition formula into the loading function and damage rate increment formula. From this method, the non-partial gradient enhancement damage model is obtained. In this model, the material’s microscopic criterion factor and the material’s damage criterion have been considered, the process of endurance failure is also considered. Thus, the insufficiency of traditional research techniques is effectively avoided, the actual effect analysis of metallic material is more reasonable, and the actual operating mode is been conformed to.

Feature selection is an important process to choose a subset of features relevant to a particular application in document classification. Those terms which occur unevenly in various categories have strong distinguishable information as to categorization. Firstly, based on the categorical document frequency probability (CTFP), a CTFP_VM feature selection algorithm was designed for feature selection. Secondly, a maximum term frequency conditional distribution factor was proposed to improve the CTFP_VM criterion further. We perform the document categorization experiments on SVM classifiers with the well-known Reuters-21578 and 20news-18828 corpuses as unbalanced and balanced corpus respectively. Experiments compare the novel methods with other conventional feature selection algorithms and the proposed method achieves the excellent feature set for document categorization.

Medical image registration is the important technique in the clinical medicine field. A novel hierarchical registration method of the medical images based on multiscale information and contour line is proposed in the paper. At First, contour lines of the couple images are extracted based on the edge features obtained by Canny operator, and contour lines of the couple images are resample in order to reduce the calculation cost in the registration process. Secondly, the Principal Axes method is used to accomplish the rough registration based on the resampled contour lines. Thirdly, multiscale image serials obtained by down-sample transform are used to accomplish the couple images fine registration. Experiment results show that the method not only can achieve more accurate registration results, but also can reduce the computational time greatly. The accurate registration results also can be achieved in the noisy environment.

A new type mechanism of anti-loosening bolt has been developed on the basis of the recovery characteristics of Fe-Mn-Si shape memory alloy. Based on that, Fe-Mn-Si shape memory alloy (SMA) anti-loosening bolt was processed, and its loose torque was increased by axial and radial restoring force generated in the process of heating. The anti-loosening experiment of the Fe-Mn-Si SMA bolt matching the common nut shows that the loose torque of pre-strain bolt increases with the increment of temperature, when the temperature is up to 500°C, the loose torque is 3 times than that of common bolt, which fits in with the characteristics of Fe-Mn-Si SMA phase transition; According to the failure criterion of fasteners, 80% decrease of loose torque, the vibration failure time of Fe-Mn-Si SMA bolt is 7 times than common bolt, so its anti-loosening effect is remarkable.

In this paper, a certain type of vehicle missile launching system is the research object, which uses CAE technology to make a flexible coupling system dynamics simulation and analysis to provide a reference for similar tests. Since the complex structure of the vehicle missile system, reasonable assumptions and simplifications are made in establishing the dynamics model. Pro/E is used to build the three-dimensional model, and then it is imported to the ABAQUS to establish its dynamics model. Finally, in a complete virtual prototyping system model, we make a simulation of working conditions, and draw conclusions and analysis. The results show that the use of independent dynamics rigid-flexible coupling model dynamics simulation based on ABAQUS can be more realistic simulation of the process of vehicle missile launch, and it verifies the results of different working conditions, which provides a reference for the vehicle missile launching systems simulation .

The effect of processing parameters on the welding deformation of 304 stainless steel plates with different thickness were studied by using the pulsed Nd: YAG laser welding progress. Single factor experiment was used in this study. The results show that, in a certain range of parameters, the vertical deformation increases with the increment of the welding current, and decreases at the beginning and then increases with increment of the pulse duration and pulse frequency. However the increment rate of welding deformation decreases while the current value goes up. The welding deformation trends of the 304 stainless steels with different thickness stay the same in a certain range of processing parameters in terms of data collected from the experiment.

The mechanical strengths of self-compacting concrete (SCC) with different strengths and different fibers were investigated. By mechanics performance testing on concrete samples, it shows that the fiber can significantly reduce strength of the self-compacting concrete during curing period. The 28d tensile strength of self-compacting concrete can be improved when steel fiber, polypropylene fiber, or polyethylene fiber were used. Moreover, steel fiber can improve the 28d compressive strength; contrarily, polypropylene fiber and polyethylene fiber can reduce the 28d compressive strength.

Single probe and dual probes are always taken adopt to measure the material's thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity. The measurement principle of the two kinds of probes is different and introduced in this article. Taken the material which has low thermal diffusivity for example, the single probe and dual probes are compared by the calculation accuracy and temperature response sensitivity. Numerical simulation results show that, under the same conditions, the thermal properties obtained by the dual probes are closer to the true value for the test material, but single probe has more sensitive at temperature response.

The microstructural evolution behavior of Mg-3Si-1.70Sn alloys during semisolid isothermal heat treatment was investigated by optical microscopy observations in the present study. With the holding time increasing, the grains evolve to be more spheroidal and 15min is adequate for the alloy to be spheroidized, after this coarsening begins to happen. The amount of the liquid islands inside α-Mg grains decreases and that of the liquid phase at the grain boundaries increases with the prolonged holding time. Moreover, the morphology of eutectic Mg2Si phases changes from the Chinese script and/or long-fiber shape to short fiber or spherical shapes during semisolid isothermal heat treatment, which can be attributed to the Rayleigh shape instability.

Since the original Adaboost algorithm is very time-consuming in training, we have designed an improved Adaboost, which adds a process of feature selection to the original Adaboost algorithm. After each round of training, we retain the features whose error rate to classify the samples are relatively low and remove the features with high error rate. In this way the time for the next training is reduced, and the whole algorithm is accelerated.

The methods for determining optimal policies are core problems in the standard secretary problem. The optimal policies are based on the hypothesis of complete rationality. However, some experimental researches showed that decision makers in reality often stopped searching earlier. In this paper, some assumptions of the standard secretary problem are weakened and a satisficing policy based on the hypothesis of bounded rationality is proposed to describe the choice behavior of a decision maker. Moreover, the possibility degree of the decision-maker to choose the satisfactory item is calculated.

In order to study the dynamic response of transmission tower equipped with a pendulum damper induced by wind load, a simulation, considering wind load acting on pendulum, is implemented. Deducing the vibration equation of transmission tower-pendulum system induced by wind and utilizing harmony superposition method and Davenport power spectra to simulate fluctuating wind load, time history analysis based on Newmark β step-by-step integration method is conducted to study the influence on displacements of pendulum and tower tip in the two conditions of considering and unconsidering wind load acting on pendulum damper. It can be found that pendulum displacement would be underestimated, and tip displacement would be overestimated if we dont consider wind load acting on pendulum.

The Cup-type transmission tower-line system was a classic representative of high voltage electric power carrier, which was an important lifeline project. However, it frequently collapsed under different environmental loadings, especially strong wind. In this work, four tower five line finite element models simulated wind-induced progressive collapse process by birth-to-death element technique in ABAQUS/Explicit. The numerical simulation results demonstrated that this application could describe the structural collapse performance clearly and effectively and transmission tower-line system collapse path depended on the number, position and last deformation of damage elements.
