The article reports on the emergence of cowgirls in ranches all over Texas. Lizzie Crosson became the first cowgirl in the U.S. to run a cattle ranch, where she had managed 30,000 acres of land and cared for the cattle until her death in 1924. Dale Evans says that cowgirl is a unique American form of courage, who symbolizes the bravery and independence of American women. Various cowgirls in Texas are presented including Coree Shinder, Teresa Kloxin, and Kyle Peebles.
