Affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties capture the delicate interplay between the Iwahori-Bruhat decomposition of an algebraic group and its decomposition into sigma-conjugacy classes. Our four main results express geometric properties of these decompositions in terms of combinatorial properties of the quantum Bruhat graph., Affine Deligne-Lusztig-Varietäten beschreiben das Zusammenspiel zwischen der Iwahori-Bruhat-Zerlegung einer algebraischen Gruppe und ihrer Zerlegung in sigma-Konjugationsklassen. Unsere vier Hauptresultate drücken geometrische Eigenschaften dieser Zerlegungen mithilfe kombinatorischer Eigenschaften des Quanten-Bruhat-Graphen aus.

We decompose Newton strata in the special fiber of moduli spaces of global G-shtukas into a product of Rapoport-Zink spaces and Igusa varieties. This decomposition holds as well for associated adic spaces, which allows for comparing the l-adic cohomology of these spaces together with its action by the reductive group G and the Galois-group of the underlying ground field. The occuring representations play an important role in the Langlands' program., Wir beweisen, dass sich Newton strata der speziellen Faser der Modulräume globaler G-shtukas zerlegen in ein Produkt von Rapoport-Zink-Räumen und Igusa-Varietäten. Diese Zerlegung gilt ebenfalls für die assoziierten adischen Räume, was einen Vergleich der l-adischen Kohomologie zusammen mit der Operation der reduktiven Gruppe G und der Galois-Gruppe des zugrunde liegenden Körpers ermöglicht. Die auftretenden Darstellungen spielen eine wichtige Rolle im Langlands-Programm.

In this thesis we study the Newton stratification on the reduction of Shimura varieties of PEL type with hyperspecial level structure. The main result is a formula for the dimension of Newton strata and the description of their closure. A key ingredient of its proof is the calculation of the dimension of some Rapoport-Zink spaces. As an interesting application to deformation theory, we determine the dimension and closure of Newton strata on the algebraisation of the deformation space of a Barsotti-Tate group with (P)EL-structure., Diese Arbeit untersucht die Newton-Stratifizierung auf der Reduktion von Shimura-Varietäten vom PEL-Typ mit hyperspezieller Levelstruktur. Das Hauptresultat ist eine Formel für die Dimension von Newton-Strata und die Beschreibung ihres Abschlusses. Ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Beweises ist die Berechnung der Dimension von unverzweigten Rapoport-Zink Räumen. Als Anwendung in der Deformationstheorie von Barsotti-Tate-Gruppen wird die Dimension und der Abschluss von Newton-Strata in der Algebraisierung des Deformationsraumes einer Barsotti-Tate-Gruppe mit (P)EL-Struktur bestimmt.
