To evaluate the safety and efficacy of ultrasound-guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and liver metastases adjacent to the gallbladder (GB). A total of 113 patients with 118 liver lesions (63 HCC lesions and 55 liver metastases) adjacent to the gallbladder underwent RFA between March 2011 and June 2019. Gallbladder-related complications and technique effectiveness rates were evaluated based on the classification of liver tumors and the distance between the lesion and the gallbladder. Gallbladder-related complications were observed in 13 patients. Among the patients with HCC, there was no significant difference between the ≤0.5 cm and >0.5 cm groups (p =.282). However, among the patients with liver metastases, the incidence of gallbladder-related complications in the ≤0.5 cm group was significantly higher than that in the >0.5 cm group (p =.025). The overall incidence of complications was significantly higher in the ≤0.5 cm group than in the >0.5 cm group (p =.020). Among the patients with lesions ≤3 cm, the technical effectiveness rate in the HCC group was significantly higher than in the liver metastasis group (p =.036). RFA is a safe and effective treatment option for liver tumors adjacent to the gallbladder. Patients with lesions ≤0.5 cm from the gallbladder had higher gallbladder-related complications, especially patients with liver metastases. CH-8 oil reservoir holds the characteristics of near-source and multi-source in Ordos Basin, China. The sterane is one of the effective biomarkers in the study of oil-source correlation. The research results show that the parent material source and maturity degree of source rocks (CH-7, CH-9 and CH-10) and crude oil (CH-8) are similar. At the same time, the diasterane parameters of DiaC27βα(20S + 20R), DiaC28βα(20S + 20R) and DiaC29βα(20S + 20R) can distinguish the source rocks into 5 types with great result, including CH-7, CH-10, CH9-WQ, CH9-HXK and CH9-SN. In addition, the dominated source of CH-8 crude oil is CH-7 source rock, the CH9-WQ source rock may make a small amount of contribution and the other of source rocks have little contribution to CH-8 crude oil in Shanbei area of Ordos Basin, China. The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is an important anti-tumor target. The development of novel molecular-targeted anti-tumor drugs that can target the interior of tumor cells and specifically silence EGFR expression is valuable and promising. In this work, a promising anti-tumor conjugate comprising methoxy-modified EGFR siRNA and cyclic arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (cRGD) peptides, which selectively bind to αvβ3 integrins, was synthesized and examined. To prepare cRGD-EGFR siRNA (cRGD-siEGFR), cRGD was covalently conjugated to the 5′-end of an siRNA sense strand using a thiol-maleimide linker. The cellular uptake and cytotoxicity of cRGD-siEGFRin vitrowere tested using an αvβ3-positive U87MG cell line.In vivobio-distribution, anti-tumor activity, immunogenicity and toxicity were investigated in a nude mouse tumor model through repeated i.v. administration of cRGD-siEGFR (7 times over a 48 h interval). Analyses ofin vitrodata showed that cRGD-siEGFR silenced EGFR expression effectively, with high tumor targeting ability. Administration of cRGD-siEGFR to tumor-bearing nude mice led to significant inhibition of tumor growth, obvious reduction of EGFR expression and down-regulation of EGFR mRNA and protein in tumor tissue. Furthermore, serum biochemistry and pathological section evaluation did not indicate any serious toxicity of cRGD-siEGFRin vivo. cRGD-siEGFR is likely a promising candidate with high targeting ability, substantial anti-tumor effects and low toxicityin vitroandin vivo. A rapid expansion from supercritical solution into aqueous solution (RESSAS) technology was presented for the micronization of Chinese medicinal material. Magnolia bark extract (MBE) obtained by supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) extraction technology was chosen as the experimental material. RESSAS process produced 303.0 nm nanoparticles (size distribution, 243.6--320.5 nm), which was significantly smaller than the 55.3 µµm particles (size distribution, 8.3--102.4 µµm) prepared by conventional mechanical milling. The effect of process parameters, including extraction temperature (30°°C, 40°°C, 50°°C), extraction pressure (200, 250, 300 bar) and nozzle size (50, 100, 200 µµm), on the size distribution of nanoparticles was investigated. The characteristics of nanoparticles and materials were also studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and laser light scattering (LLS). This study demonstrates that RESSAS is applicable for preparing nanoparticles of MBE at low operating temperature; the process is simple without any residual solvent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the aim of exploring the excellent properties of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) in modern composite technologies, various macrostructures of nanotubes have been developed from one to three dimensions, e.g. fibers, networks, sheets (buckypapers) and pellets. The MWNT sheets discussed here were fabricated by a vacuum filtration procedure, a process that has potential for large-scale manufacturing. In order to further enhance the transport properties of MWNT sheets by reducing the contact resistance between nanotubes, highly conductive silver nanoparticles were introduced by an in situ photochemical reduction method. TEM analysis showed that highly acid-treated MWNTs dispersed in the presence of Triton X-100 (TX-100) under UV light was a controllable processing method for preparation of a narrow size distribution of silver nanoparticles that were anchored onto the nanotubes. The free-standing MWNT/Ag nanohybrid sheets possessed a sharp increase in electrical conductivity from 27.7 to 40.0 S/cm, which consequently led to a much improved electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (SE). In principle, the SE could reach 3500 dB/cm with a thickness of 110 μm, which matched the experimental results well. In addition, the nanohybrid sheets are robust and can be folded with a thickness of 30 μm, which opens a promising way to integrate MWNT sheets into conventional composite laminates.
