Gain or amplification 1q21 (1q21+) is one of the most common recurrent cytogenetic abnormalities in multiple myeloma (MM). Our aim was to explore the presentation and outcomes of patients with MM harboring 1q21 +. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical features and survival outcomes in 474 consecutive patients with MM receiving immunomodulatory drugs or proteasome inhibitor-based regimens as first-line therapies. 1q21 + was detected in 249 (52.5%) patients. Patients with 1q21 + had a higher proportion of subtypes of IgA, IgD, and λ-light chain than non-1q21 +. 1q21 + was associated with more advanced ISS stage and was more frequently accompanied by del(13q), elevated lactate dehydrogenase and lower levels of hemoglobin and platelets. Patients with 1q21 + had shorter PFS (21 months vs. 31 months, P = 0.001) and OS (43 months vs. 72 months, P < 0.001) than those without 1q21 +. Multivariate Cox regression analysis confirmed that 1q21 + was an independent prognostic factor for both PFS (HR 1.277, P = 0.031) and OS (HR 1.547, P = 0.003). Patients with 1q21 + del(13q) double-abnormality had shorter PFS (P < 0.001) and OS (P = 0.001) than those with no FISH abnormalities, and they also had shorter PFS (P = 0.018) and OS (P = 0.026) than those with del(13q) single abnormality. No significant difference in PFS (P = 0.525) or OS (P = 0.245) was found between patients with 1q21 + del(13q) double-abnormality and 1q21 + del(13q) multiple-abnormality. Patients with 1q21 + were more likely to have coexisting negative clinical features and del(13q). 1q21 + was an independent prognostic factor associated with poor outcomes. The present systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) aimed to investigate the effects of pulmonary rehabilitation in individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The RCTs of pulmonary rehabilitation programs published between 1999 and 2021 were retrieved from electronic databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Embase). Two reviewers independently assessed the topical relevance and trial quality and extracted data for meta-analysis using the Stata software version 14.0. A total of 39 trials involving 2,397 participants with COPD were evaluated. We found that patients who received pulmonary rehabilitation program had significant improvement in the 6-min walk test (6MWT), St. George Respiratory Questionnaire score, and the modified British Medical Research Council score as compared to those who received usual care. Yoga and Tai Chi showed significant improvement in the forced expiratory volume (FEV1)% in 1 s predicted value. However, no significant difference was detected in the modified Borg score, forced vital capacity (FVC), and FEV1/FVC predicted value between the pulmonary rehabilitation and usual care groups. Yoga and Tai Chi showed a significant improvement in the FEV1% predicted value. Also, pulmonary rehabilitation program improved the exercise capacity, the quality of life, and dyspnoea in patients with COPD. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been found to play important roles in drug resistance of human neoplasms. The aim of this study was to explore the effect of circ_0005273 on cisplatin (DDP) resistance of cervical cancer (CC) cells and identify its underlying mechanism. The quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was performed to analyse circ_0005273 and miR-133b expressions, and cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), Hoechst 33258 staining and caspase-3 activity analysis were performed to evaluate cell proliferation and apoptosis. Luciferase reporter, RNA binding protein immunoprecipitation (RIP) and RNA pull down assays were applied to explore the interaction between circ_0005273 and miR-133b. Our research showed that circ_0005273 and miR-133b expressions were upregulated and downregulated in DDP-resistant CC cancer tissues and cell lines, respectively. Both of circ_0005273 and miR-133b levels were correlated with FIGO stage, DDP status and overall survival rates. Knockdown of circ_0005273 enhanced the sensitivity of DDP-resistant CC cells to DDP by inhibiting cell proliferation and promoting cell apoptosis. Furthermore, circ_0005273 acts as a competing endogenous RNA to modulate miR-133b expression. Downregulation of miR-133b partly reversed the DDP sensitivity of circ_0005273 knockdown in DDP-resistant CC cells. In summary, our study elucidated the role of circ_0005273/miR-133b axis in DDP resistance of CC cells, which might be a potential therapeutic target for DDP-resistant CC patients. Objective: Pre-eclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy-associated disease characterized by placental dysfunction and increased oxidative stress. Apocyanin is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory which has shown beneficial effects on PE pathogenesis. Aspirin is recognized as the recommendable drug in PE prevention and therapy. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the effects of combining apocyanin and aspirin to treat PE on rat models induced by N-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) from gestational day (GD) 6 to 16 and elucidate the potential mechanisms.Methods: First, female pregnant rats were divided into five different groups: pregnant control, PE, PE + apocyanin, PE + aspirin, and PE + apocyanin + aspirin. Animals received apocyanin (16 mg/kg/day) orally or aspirin by gavage (1.5 mg/kg BM/day) from GD 4 to 16. Blood pressure and urine protein content were monitored every 4 days.Results: In the PE rat model, elevated systolic blood pressure and proteinuria were ameliorated by the combination of apocyanin and aspirin. Meanwhile, compared with single-dose apocyanin or aspirin, the combined treatment significantly corrected abnormal pregnancy outcomes, decreased sFlt-1 and PlGF, and alleviated oxidative stress both in blood and placental tissues. Moreover, the combined treatment upregulated PI3K, Akt, Nrf2, and HO-1 protein levels in the placental tissues from PE rats.Conclusion: Overall, our results suggested that combined treatment of apocyanin and aspirin ameliorates the PE symptoms compared with single-dose apocyanin or aspirin in a PE rat model. Objective: To investigate the diagnosis, treatment, and maternal and fetal outcomes of placental abruption.Materials and Methods: We recruited 585 cases of placental abruption from the Women and Children's Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University between January 2012 and December 2017. Cases were categorized into four groups (class 0-III) according to the clinical guidelines published by the Obstetrics and Gynecology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. We then compared clinical data and auxiliary examinations across the four groups.Results: The differences were statistically significant (p < .01) among the four groups of placental abruption with regard to the incidence of an abnormal ultrasound finding. Positive ultrasound signs were evident in 6.4% of the patients categorized as class 0 and 100.0% of patients categorized as class III. Monitoring showed that fetal heart rate (FHR) was abnormal in class II patients with placental abruption; patients in class III showed no fetal heart sounds. Cesarean section was carried out for 26.6%, 75.1%, 65.2%, and 47.1% of patients in classes 0, I, II, and III, respectively. The rate of cesarean section for classes I and II was the highest, while the lowest rate occurred for class 0. Postpartum hemorrhage occurred in 2.5%, 9.3%, 15.2%, and 29.4% of patients across the four groups, DIC occurred in 0.0%, 1.3%, 2.3%, and 23.5% of cases, and perinatal death occurred in 1.0%, 1.3%, 7.6%, and 100.0% of cases, respectively. The highest incidence of postpartum hemorrhage was in class III (29.4%) and the lowest was in class 0 (2.5%). The highest incidence of DIC was in class III (23.5%) and the lowest was in class 0 (0.0%). The highest incidence of neonatal asphyxia was in class II (34.1%) and the lowest was in class 0 (10.1%). Regarding perinatal death, the highest incidence was in class III (100.0%) and the lowest was in class 0 (1.0%). These data showed significance differences when compared across the four groups of patients (p < .01).Conclusions: We recommend that the diagnosis of placental abruption should consider risk factors, clinical features, FHR monitoring, and dynamic ultrasound monitoring. Enterprise social software platforms (ESSPs) have emerged as an important infrastructure that enables teams to perform in the turbulent business environment. The current study adds to the scanty literature on ESSP by revealing and confirming the underlying mechanisms through which ESSP contributes to a team's ability to improvise. By surveying current ESSP users, we find that ESSP exercises its effect on team improvisation ability through team social capital as an important mediator. However, our results confirm the existence of two distinctive mediation mechanisms. First, intra-team ESSP use shapes improvisation ability through a team's internal bonding social capital partially, whereas inter-team ESSP use contributes to improvisation ability through external bonding social capital fully. Second, intra-team (not inter-team) ESSP use casts an additional impact on improvisation ability through within-team (not outside-team) bridging social capital; however, this mediation effect exists only among teams that are equipped with a high level of absorptive capacity. Therefore, the current research sheds new lights on the ESSP and contributes to the research on information technology–assisted team improvisation. To assess the effects of oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) for endometriosis in women after conservative surgery, we performed a search of PubMed, Embase, ISI Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Scidirect, Chinese VIP, CNKI and WANGFANG database. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of OCPs in postoperative medical therapy for endometriosis were collected. Articles published as of January 2013 with no language restriction were identified using defined keywords, and 15 studies comprising 1850 patients were included. There was a significantly higher rate of total endometriosis remission [OR = 2.55, 95% CI (1.68, 3.86), p < 0.00001] and a lower rate of recurrence [OR = 0.31, 95% CI (0.22, 0.45), p < 0.00001] in the OCPs group compared with surgery alone. There appears to be no statistical difference in pregnancy rates between the OCPs group as compared with surgery alone or other hormonal drug treatments in infertility patients. As for the rate of recurrence and complete remission, there were no statistical differences among OCPs and gestrinone, mifepristone or GnRH-a groups.
