Physical and mental health problems had been identified as the negative outcomes of workplace violence (WPV) against medical staff. Considering the proven associations between physical and mental health and suicidal ideation, it is reasonable to assume that WPV may associate with suicidal ideation. However, few studies were conducted to explore the relationship between WPV and their suicidal ideation against medical staff. Based on a cross-sectional design, 3, 426 medical staff working in general hospitals were interviewed in Shandong Province, China. Socio-demographic characteristics, work-related factors, psychological variables, WPV, and suicidal ideation were evaluated. Propensity score matching (PSM) was performed to explore the association between WPV and suicidal ideation. The prevalence of suicidal ideation among medical staff was 9.1% (312/3426), and 52.2% (1788/3426) of medical staff reported the WPV experience. Before PSM, we found that the association between WPV and suicidal ideation was statistically significant (aOR = 1.606, p < 0.01). After PSM, there was a statistically significant correlation between WPV and suicidal ideation (aOR = 1.525, p < 0.01). This study supported the correlations between WPV against medical staff and their suicidal ideation. The results of PSM further implied that WPV might cause suicidal ideation among medical staff. Forest pests impose significant threats to tree productivity and ecosystem stability. Most studies focussed on foliage water, tree defoliate and mortality, which lag behind pest outbreak. To address this issue, we developed hyperspectral LiDAR (HSL) system based on an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) to examine the echo intensity of tree trunks. First, we demonstrated the echo power of the cylindrical surface is approximately equivalent to that of the plate surface within 60° incidence angle, which provide the theoretical reference for trunk surface echo intensity calibration with a white panel. Second, we propose a two-step method to detect the attacked parts from barks. The first step is rapid pest detection conducted by the echo intensity ratio of damaged area and normal area. While the ratio is around one, the second step is pest detection based on support vector machine classifier with reflectance. When the reflectivity of five spectral channels is used as input parameters, 100% rapid detection accuracy of damage area is achieved. We also use the radiance under seven channels to achieve 100% classification of tree species and attack features. Two new 2,5-diketopiperazines derivatives (1-2), together with eight known analogs (3-10), were isolated from a culture broth of an endophytic fungus Nigrospora camelliae-sinensis S30, derived from mangrove Lumnitzera littorea. Their complete structures were determined by a detailed analysis of spectroscopic data and ECD calculations. Purpose: The function of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNA) in breast cancer metastasis remains largely unknown. In this work, the role of HOXC-AS3 in breast cancer progression was investigated.Methods: By using Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Database, we investigated the expression of HOXC-AS3 in breast cancer and explored the association between HOXC-AS3 expression and prognosis. Then, we studied the biological function of HOXC-AS3 in cell migration and invasion both in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, the target miRNA of HOXC-AS3, and the target mRNA of miR-3922-5p were proved.Results: HOXC-AS3 is aberrantly overexpressed in breast cancers especially the HER2+ type. Moreover, high expression of HOXC-AS3 has a relationship with poor clinical outcomes of breast cancer. In addition, HOXC-AS3 regulates cell Invasion and migration both in vitro and in vivo. Our results demonstrated that miR-3922-5p was a direct target of HOXC-AS3, and PPP1R1A was a target of miR-3922-5p in breast cancer.Conclusions: The novel lncRNA HOXC-AS3 acts as a miR-3922-5p sponge to upregulate PPP1R1A protein expression, and thus results in promoting breast cancer metastasis. Upon entering host cells, β-coronaviruses specifically induce generation of replication organelles (ROs) from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) through their nonstructural protein 3 (nsp3) and nsp4 for viral genome transcription and replication. The most predominant ROs are double-membrane vesicles (DMVs). The ER-resident proteins VMP1 and TMEM41B, which form a complex to regulate autophagosome and lipid droplet (LD) formation, were recently shown to be essential for β-coronavirus infection. Here we report that VMP1 and TMEM41B contribute to DMV generation but function at different steps. TMEM41B facilitates nsp3-nsp4 interaction and ER zippering, while VMP1 is required for subsequent closing of the paired ER into DMVs. Additionally, inhibition of phosphatidylserine (PS) formation by siPTDSS1 partially reverses the DMV and LD defects in VMP1 KO cells, suggesting that appropriate PS levels also contribute to DMV formation. A polyoxometalate-based, inorganic–organic hybrid compound containing a helical structure along theaaxis, [Ag(pyttz)2][H2PW12O40]·2H2O (p-pyttz = 3-(pyrid-4-yl)-5-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)-1,2,4-triazolyl), has been isolated and structurally characterized. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the new compound possesses two helical channels constructed by the left- and right-handed helical chains, respectively, which are fused together through sharing POMs dimer fabricating a 3-D framework with {44·53·63} {44·53·63} topolopy. The new compound displays good acid-catalytic activity toward the synthesis of Aspirin and good oxidation-catalytic activity to the decomposition of Rhodamine B dye; the catalytic reaction kinetics are discussed. Objective: To investigate the related factors and pathogens of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) after heart surgery so as to provide evidences for clinical prevention and therapy. Methods: In total 1,688 cases were collected from January 2004 to January 2011. Overall 105 patients developed VAP. Retrospectively analyzed these patients after heart surgery to determine the clinical data, pathogens and treatment measures. Results: The frequency of ventilator-associated pneumonia was 6.2% (105/1 688), and mortality was 25.7% (27/105), 198 pathogen strains were isolated by bacterial culture, in which Gram negative bacteria accounted for 69.2% (137/198), Gram positive bacteria 27.8% (55/198), and fungi 3.0% (6/198). The independent risk factors for VAP after cardiac surgery were: age >70 ( p < .01), emergent surgery ( p < .01), perioperative blood transfusions ( p < 0.01), reintubation ( p < .01) and days of mechanical ventilation (MV) ( p < .01). Median length of stay in the ICU for patients who developed VAP or not was, respectively, (24.7 ± 4.5) days versus (3.2 ± 1.5) days ( p < .05), and mortality was, respectively, 25.7% versus 2.9% in both populations ( p < .05). Conclusion: Age >70, emergent surgery, perioperative blood transfusions, reintubation and days of MV are the risk factors for VAP in patients following cardiac surgery. P. aeruginosa, P. klebsiella, S. aureus, and Acinetobacter baumannii were the main pathogens of VAP. Context: DTD is a Chinese herb prescription used for centuries to treat atherosclerosis or dizziness. Previous studies show that DTD could inhibit ICAM-1 expression induced by TNF-α. However, its mechanism has never been clearly described. Objective: To examine the hypothesis that DTD might inhibit TNF-α-induced ICAM-1 expression through regulating the expression of p53 and p21. Materials and methods: The rats were orally treated with DTD for 3 d (2.3 g/kg per day), and then the serum was collected. HUVECs were cultured and stimulated by TNF-α with or without DTD serum (5, 10, and 20%). The expression of ICAM-1 mRNA was examined by RT-PCR and the expression of p53 and p21 was examined by western blot analysis. Results: The ICAM-1 mRNA levels induced by TNF-α were significantly reduced from 23 to 47%, and the expression of p53 and p21 mRNA levels were significantly reduced from 13 to 43% and 14 to 42%, as the concentration of DTD serum increased. In western blot, TNF-α-induced the expression of p53 and was inhibited from 15 to 53%, by DTD serum in a concentration-dependent manner. TNF-α-induced expression of p21 was inhibited from 2 to 37%, by DTD serum in a concentration-dependent manner. Discussion and conclusion: DTD has a function of 'dissolving phlegm', thus it is chosen for the treatment of atherosclerosis. This study demonstrated that DTD could significantly inhibit the expression of ICAM-1, p53 and p21, which are important factors of atherosclerosis. By introducing antibacterial drug pipemidic acid into octamolybdates, two new compounds, (HPPA)4[Mo8O26] 2H2O (1) and [Ni2(PPA)2(H2O)4] [Mo8O26] 3H2O (2) (PPA?=?8-ethyl-5,8-dihydro-5-oxo-2-(1-piperazinyl)pyrido(2,3-d)pyrimidine-6-carboxylic acid), have been synthesized and characterized by physical methods. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveal that1and2crystallize in the triclinic system, space groupP-1, in which supramolecular interactions play vital roles in stabilizing the structure of1and2. The results of their antitumor activitiesin vitroshow that the compounds exhibit good anti-SGC7901 and anti-SMMC7721 activities, which indicates that the antitumor activities of Polyoxometalates can be modulated by the surface modification with drugs. Objective. Acute pyelonephritis is a common infectious disease in children and can result in permanent renal damage. Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is an important mediator of inflammation in response to bacterial infection. This study investigated the potential relationship between acute-phase IL-6 and subsequent renal scarring in children with a first time febrile acute pyelonephritis. Material and methods. In total, 79 children (age range 1-120 months) with a first time febrile urinary tract infection (UTI) were included. The diagnosis of acute pyelonephritis was confirmed by 99mTc-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) renal scan. Serum and urine samples were collected for IL-6 measurement by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay before antibiotic treatment for the infection. Results. The 79 children were divided into acute pyelonephritis (n=45) and lower UTI (n=34) groups according to the findings of DMSA scans. The initial serum and urine IL-6 levels of children with acute pyelonephritis were significantly higher compared with lower UTI (p < 0.001). Renal scarring was detected at the follow-up DMSA scans in 15 (34.1%) of the 44 children with acute pyelonephritis. Both serum and urine IL-6 levels during the acute phase of pyelonephritis were significantly higher in children with renal scarring than in those without (p=0.005 and p = 0.002). The median age of children with renal scarring was significantly lower than those without (p=0.034). Multiple regression analysis showed that higher initial serum and urine IL-6 levels and a younger age were associated with renal scarring. Conclusion. These results demonstrate that in younger children with a first time febrile acute pyelonephritis, elevations of the acute-phase serum and urine IL-6 levels were correlated with an increased risk of subsequent renal scarring. Toxicogenomics applications are increasingly applied to the evaluation of preclinical drug safety, and to explain toxicities associated with compounds at the mechanism level. In this review, we aim to describe the application of toxicogenomics tools for studying the genotoxic effect of active compounds on the gene-expression profile of A375 human malignant melanoma cells, through the other molecular functions of target genes, regulatory pathways and mechanisms of malignant melanomas. It also includes the current systems biology approaches, which are very useful for analyzing the biological system and understanding the entire mechanisms of malignant melanomas. Blaps rhynchopetera is a species of folk medicinal beetle that has been used for a long time in Southwest China. The complete mitogenome of the beetle (GenBank accession number MK854717) is 16,149 bp in size, including 13 protein-coding, 22 transfer RNAs, two ribosomal RNAs genes, and a noncoding D-loop region. The D-loop of 1255 bp length is located between rRNA-S and tRNAIle. The overall base composition of B. rhynchopetera is 41.58% for A, 10.31% for G, 31.77% for T, and 16.34% for C, with a high AT bias of 73.35%. From Peucedanum praeruptorum, one new khellactone ester (3′ R )- O -acetyl-(4′ S )- O -angeloylkhellactone ( 3 ), as well as four known angular dihydropyranocoumarins ( 1 , 2 , 4 , 5 ) have been isolated. On the basis of NMR spectra and X-ray crystallography, their structures were determined. We have elucidated their absolute configuration by either chiral separation of their alkaline hydrolysis products with Rp-18 HPLC eluted with 5% hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (β-HCD) or by measurement of their CD spectra. The greater green snake Cyclophiops major is a protected and colubrid species. Here, we investigated the complete mitochondrial genome of C. major. The genome is 17,217bp in size, including 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes, 2 control regions, and an origin of light-strand replication. All genes are distributed on the heavy strand, except for ND6 gene and 8 tRNA genes. The AT content of the overall base composition of light strand is 59.83%, showing AT bias.
