This article focuses on the ideas of Andre Citroen on civilization and a factory that radiate social peace and free of conflict. Such a society would be built on harmony between the classes, united in mass production and the consumption of things. Andre Citroen elaborated this ideal very often in his writings and speeches; he also attempted to create dynamic, formal employer organizations and assemblages of politicians and industrialists enamored of the same project. This article discusses these ideas, as seen in the industrial situation of France after the end of World War I.
