This article will discuss the podcasting environment at the University of Utah, which takes place in the Audio Studio of the Marriott Library. As academic libraries implement innovative technologies as services, this article will elaborate on the ways that podcasts are being recorded and circulated by students, faculty, and staff. The equipment, spaces, and staff expertise of the Audio Studio serves as a guide for campus podcast facilitation. Other topics discussed include unmediated access to the Audio Studio for podcasters, what types of podcasts are being recorded, and how media production instruction, coupled with librarian expertise, enhances library spaces through technology. Alternatives to the innovator product for imiquimod 5% cream are currently marketed in South America and the People’s Republic of China. Methods: Seven alternative imiquimod 5% cream products were compared with the innovator product using physiochemical tests for cream appearance, pH, drug content and presence of crystals, as well as in vitro release testing of drug using Franz diffusion cells. Results: In contrast to the innovator product, which had no crystalline imiquimod, significant amounts of suspended crystalline imiquimod were found in six of the seven alternative products. In vitro release rates of imiquimod were significantly slower in these six products compared with the innovator (p < 0.001). In vitro release rates of imiquimod were significantly faster than the innovator (p < 0.05) for the one alternative product without crystals. Conclusions: The clinical relevance of the differences observed is unknown; however, they raise concerns about whether these alternatives are therapeutically equivalent. While a generic topical imiquimod would almost certainly require clinical studies of therapeutic equivalence for approval in countries with more stringent regulatory environment, vigilance is warranted regarding importation of pharmaceutical products labeled as ‘identical’ in the absence of adequate evaluations. The new Socialist government of President of France Francois Mitterand has announced that it will nationalize a group of both foreign and domestic enterprises in the most ambitious plan ever carried out by a Western democracy. The idea has generated considerable opposition in spite of already extensive government holdings in the economy. Mitterand defeated former President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing last May 10th, and for the first time in over twenty years a Socialist took the presidency. In legislative elections held June 21, the Socialists also won a majority in the French Parliament, though they have allied themselves with the smaller Communist party to quell dissent from the left. There thus seems little doubt that the government has a broad mandate to carry out social welfare and employment policies and to transform existing structures. In a speech to the new Parliament, Prime Minister Pierre Mauroy announced that the government "would proceed quickly to honor the promises made during the electoral campaign."
