Eukiefferiella changbaiensis sp. n. is described from the ChangbaiMountains, Northeast China. Male and female imagines were found swarming ina snowy environment above 2000 m altitude. The presence of the wing vein R[sub 2+3] and only one tibial spur on the mid and hind legs in both sexes, and tergite IX in the female divided into two setigerous protrutions, showsthat the species belongs in the E. devonica group. The male is easilyseparated from the previously known species of the whole genus in having abilobed inferior volsella and by the shape of the gonostylus. The female maybe separated from other known females in the group by a very small sternalfloor and a rather small and pointed gonocoxite IX. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
