Renewable energy resources are natural, clean, economical, and never-ending energy resources. Wind energy is an important clean, cheap, and easy applicable energy sources. On account of this, generation of the energy from wind technology has been raised day by day because of the competition with fossil-fuel power production methods. By depending on increases the number of turbines located in the wind farm, the average power obtains from each wind turbine appreciable reduces due to the existence of wake effects within the wind farm. Therefore, the optimal placement of turbines in a wind farm provides to get optimum wind energy from the wind farm. When the place where the wind turbines are located is considered as NxN grid, a wind turbine can be established to each cell of this grid. Whether a wind turbine is replaced to each cell of the grid or not can be modeled as a binary-based optimization problem. In this study, a Jaya-based binary optimization algorithm is proposed to determine which cells are used for wind turbine replacement. In order to justify the efficiency of the proposed approach, two different test cases are considered, and the solutions produced by the proposed approach are compared with the solutions of the swarm intelligence or evolutionary computation methods. According to the experiments and comparisons the Jaya-based binary approach shows a superior performance than compared approaches in terms of cost and power effectiveness. While the efficiency of the Jaya-based approach is 92.2% with 30 turbines replacement on 10 × 10 grid, the efficiency of the Jaya-based binary method is 95.7% with 43 turbines replacement on 20 × 20 grid. This study examines the purchasing power parity theory for 14 African countries by applying a recent composite time series method that incorporates the Fourier approximation. The structural breaks are modelled as a gradual smooth process by means of a Fourier component. The Fourier unit root test failed to find any evidence showing that real exchange rates for these 14 countries have mean-reverting tendencies. However, both cointegration and Fourier cointegration tests detect a stable long-term relation between the nominal exchange rate and relative price levels for 8 out of 14 countries; moreover, for five countries Fourier component in cointegration analysis is found to suit quite well. Population of the world is growing with increasing rate and it seems that existing fossil fuel energy sources will not be able to meet energy demand in the near future. Energy is not only crucial for civil sector but also it is one of the most important assets in defense sector. Energy for military operations is mostly provided from fossil fuel as it is the case in other sectors; however, fossil fuels have hazardous effects to the environment and cause global environment concerns. These drawbacks of fossil fuels are also valid for battlefield. Furthermore, transportation of fossil fuels causes extra safety and logistics problems in military case. In this study, we developed a hybrid green energy solution with wind, solar, and batteries together to minimize or eliminate the fossil fuel demand for the battlefield. Results of our algorithm are superior to the already used diesel generator solution from the point of view of cost and various other aspects. State failure poses a major threat to the established international order. Therefore, the U.S.-led western world has been making efforts to prevent state failure. State-building processes are essential to reaffirm the international order, although the costs of such endeavors can be prohibitive. Constitution making may be an important factor in this process to identify what type of state is being built and desired. In this study, Afghanistan and Iraq state-building and constitution-making processes can be examined to analyze the success of what type of state types are being imposed in the Middle East and North Africa, especially among Islamic countries.
