AbstractPlastic pollution is one of the most acute environmental problems in the world, so active packaging materials made from biodegradable natural polymers have received widespread attention in recent years. In this paper, forsythia flower extract, serving as an active ingredient, was integrated into the starch-sodium alginate-montmorillonite composite film. The physicochemical properties and functional packaging applications of the composite films were investigated. The results demonstrate the formation of a tightly-knit network structure through molecular interactions among forsythia flowers, starch, sodium alginate, and montmorillonite. Notably, the addition of forsythia flower extracts conferred better UV resistance (from 200 nm to 400 nm) and outstanding antioxidant properties to the composite films. After 18 days of storage, in comparison with the control group, the decay rate of fresh cherry tomatoes packaged with the composite film containing forsythia flower extract showed a significant reduction of 40%, the hardness increased by 25%, and the content of vitamin C was enhanced by 33%. Hence, the forsythia flower extract composite film offers a novel perspective for the design and development of bio-based packaging films for preserving fresh fruits. This study was designed to evaluate the acaricidal effect and the mode of action of lemongrass essential oil (LEO) against Aleuroglyphus ovatus. Contact and fumigant mortality indicated that LEO had higher acaricidal activities at a low concentration, and the acaricidal action of LEO was significantly more effective by contact effects than by fumigant bioassay. Repellent rate against A. ovatus at different concentrations of LEO increased with application time. Observation on the toxic symptoms revealed that almost all mites were in immobilized type (IM type) in 30 min, but the symptom of knock-down type (KD type) appeared later. Cuticles of mites killed by LEO exhibited obvious colour change and deformation. Detoxification enzyme activity assay showed that glutathione S-transferase (GST) activity increased in mites treated by LEO compared to the controls. LEO increased catalase (CAT) activity of A. ovatus but inhibited superoxide dismutase (SOD) after 20 h. LEO also increased nitric oxide synthetase (NOS) and inhibited acetylcholine esterase (AChE) activities. Moreover, LEO acted as a fast-acting neurotoxin on A. ovatus. This study examined teacher behaviours, students' academic engagement, and classroom ecology in mainstream classrooms including children with intellectual disabilities, and examined the differences in academic engagement for students with and without intellectual disabilities. A mixed-method research methodology was employed. The study demonstrated that children with intellectual disabilities exhibited high level of engagement in the following situations: the classroom layout used grouping, the classroom organisation combined groups and independent learning, the learning tasks included reading aloud, copying, watching videos, and doing homework, and teachers paid attention to all students or to children with intellectual disabilities individually and walked around the classroom during lesson time. English was the discipline with most active engagement among children with intellectual disabilities, followed by music, art, science, Chinese, sports, social studies, and mathematics. Finally, academic engagement of children with and without intellectual disabilities was mostly passive. We discuss the factors related to academic engagement of children with intellectual disabilities and provide suggestions for improving their self-management skills and classroom organisation. To evaluate the co-transplantation efficacy of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) and peripheral blood stem cells (PBSCs) as a novel approach for refractory or relapsed severe aplastic anemia (R/R SAA) in children and adolescents, thirty-two children and adolescents diagnosed with R/R SAA underwent a retrospective chart review. The patients were categorized into two groups based on the source of PBSCs: the matched sibling donor (MSD) group and the unrelated donor (UD) group. No adverse events related to UC-MSC infusion occurred in any of the patients. The median time for neutrophil engraftment was 13 days (range: 10–23 days), and for platelets, it was 15 days (range: 11–28 days). Acute GVHD of Grade I–II and moderate chronic GVHD were observed in 21.8 and 12.5% of cases, respectively. No statistically significant differences were found between the MSD and UD groups in terms of engraftment, GVHD, and complications, including infection and hemorrhagic cystitis. The median follow-up time was 38.6 months (range: 1.4–140.8 months). As of October 31, 2021, five patients had succumbed, while 27 (84.4%) survived. The 5-year OS rate showed no statistically significant difference between the MSD and UD groups (84.8 ± 10.0 vs. 82.4 ± 9.2%, p = 0.674). In conclusion, the application of UC-MSCs in the treatment of R/R SAA in PBSC transplantation is reliable and safe, they had no graft rejection, low incidence of severe GVHD which may have been contributed by the co-infusion of MSC. We found that asthma is a heterogeneous chronic inflammatory lung disease, and lung tissue macrophages are important immune cells in the respiratory tract. Pulmonary macrophages are also heterogeneous, as they have different subgroups with varying effector functions depending on the environment. They have different phenotypes and biological functions in different disease environments. The phenotypic changes of pulmonary macrophages occur during asthma, and the study of the different phenotypes and functions of macrophages in lung tissue is of great significance for treatment.This review summarizes current literature and provides a detailed introduction to the role of macrophages as key inflammatory mediators in the pathogenesis of asthma, as well as existing knowledge gaps. Microbial communities are fundamental components driving critical biogeochemical carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) cycles in groundwater ecosystems. The reduction–oxidation (redox) potential is one important environmental factor influencing the microbial community composition. Here, we developed a bio-trap method using in-situ sediment as a matrix to collect aquifer sediment samples and evaluate the response of microbial composition and C/N/S cycling functions to redox variations created by providing sole O2, joint O2 and H2, and sole H2 to three wells. Illumina sequencing analyses showed that the microbial communities in the bio-trap sediment could respond quickly to redox changes in the wells, demonstrating that this bio-trap method is promising for detecting microbial variation in the aquifer sediment. The microbial metabolic functions related to C, N and S cyclings and organic pollutants degradation were predicted by the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) approach. It was found that the joint O2 and H2 injection produced medium oxidation–reduction potential (ORP −346 and −614 mV) and enhanced more microbial functions than sole O2 or H2, which mainly include oxidative phosphorylation, most carbon source metabolism, various pollutants degradation, and nitrogen and sulfur metabolism. Moreover, the functional genes encoding phenol monooxygenase, dioxygenase, nitrogen fixation, nitrification, aerobic and anaerobic nitrate reductase, nitrite reductase, nitric oxide reductase, and sulfur oxidation increased. Increasing agricultural productivity and reducing carbon emissions are two major challenges that China faces. This paper explores how agricultural insurance affects agricultural green total factor productivity (AGTFP) that addresses these two challenges. First, we adopt DDF-GML to measure AGTFP, and the Dagum's Gini decompositions results show the large differences in AGTFP, with transvariation between subregions contributing the most. Second, we find the U-shaped effect of agricultural insurance on AGTFP in a large country context. The result remains robust after adjusting for time, sample and estimation method of AGTFP. We also construct instrumental variables from the minimum distance from the centroid of counties within a province to the 45 ports in China and two-stage lagged agricultural insurance penetration (AIP) for AIP, and their squares as instrumental variables for AIP2. The conclusion remains robust in 2SLS model. Third, the findings confirm three channels for agricultural insurance to influence the AGTFP: environmentally friendly production, labor inputs and operation scale. Bioimpedance analysis (BIA)–body composition monitoring (BCM) has been used to evaluate the hydration and nutritional status of adults and children on dialysis. However, its clinical application still has challenges, so further exploration is valuable. We used BIA-BCM to evaluate the hydration and nutritional status of children undergoing chronic peritoneal dialysis from 1 July 2021 to 31 December 2022 in the Children's Hospital of Fudan University to explore the clinical value of this method. A total of 84 children on chronic peritoneal dialysis (PD) were included. In the PD group, 16 (19.05%) and 31 (36.90%) had mild and severe overhydration (OH), respectively; 41.27% (26/63) had a low lean tissue index (LTI). In the PD group, patients with relative OH (Re-OH) > 5.6% had significantly higher systolic blood pressure (SBP) and SBP z score (SBPz). Patients with LTI > 12% had significantly higher body mass index (BMI) and BMI z score (BMIz). Canonical correlation analysis indicated a linear relationship (ρ = 0.708) between BIA-BCM hydration and the clinical hydration indicator and a linear relationship (ρ = 0.995) between the BIA-BCM nutritional indicator and the clinical nutritional indicator. A total of 56% of children on chronic peritoneal dialysis had OH, and 41% had a low LTI. In PD patients, SBP and SBPz were correlated with BIA-BCM Re-OH, and BMI and BMIz were correlated with BIA-BCM LTI. BIA-BCM indicators have good clinical value in evaluating hydration and nutrition. As no unified treatment protocol or evidence yet exists for plasmapheresis without plasma, this study explored the outcomes of using 4% human albumin (ALB) solution as a replacement solution in patients undergoing plasma exchange for multiple myeloma (MM) patients with acute kidney injury (AKI). This study was prospectively registered (ChiCTR2000030640 and NCT05251896). Bortezomib-based chemotherapy plus therapeutic plasmapheresis (TPP) with 4% human ALB solution was assessed for three years in patients with MM aged >18 years, with AKI according to the Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes criteria, and without previous renal impairment from other causes. The primary endpoints were changes in renal function over 18 weeks and survival outcomes at 36 months. The secondary endpoints were the incidence of adverse reactions and symptom improvement. Among the 119 patients included in the analysis, 108 experienced renal reactions. The M protein (absolute changes: median −12.12%, interquartile ranges (IQRs) −18.62 to −5.626) and creatine (median −46.91 μmol/L, IQR −64.70 to −29.12) levels decreased, whereas the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) increased (median 20.66 mL/(min·1.73 m2), IQR 16.03–25.29). Regarding patient survival, 68.1% and 35.3% of patients survived for >12 and >36 months, respectively. The three symptoms with the greatest relief were urine foam, poor appetite, and blurred vision. All 11 patients (7.6%) who experienced mild adverse reactions achieved remission. In conclusion, in MM patients with AKI, plasma-free plasmapheresis with 4% human ALB solution and bortezomib-based chemotherapy effectively alleviated light chain damage to kidney function while improving patient quality of life. Ensuring the safety of pipeline transportation is vital for societal well-being. Traditional methods for identifying defects in steel pipelines through ultrasonic echo signal pattern recognition often fail to extract comprehensive and effective features crucial for accurate defect detection. This study introduces an innovative feature extraction method employing a fractional Fourier transform variational modal decomposition (FRFT-VMD), hereafter referred to as the fractional-order VMD algorithm. This method utilises the fourth-order central moment and envelope entropy to optimise several key parameters: the fractional order in the Fourier transform, the number of decomposition layers, and the penalty factor in variational modal decomposition. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, ultrasonic echo signals from both finite element simulations and experimental platforms were analysed using the FRFT-VMD technique. The features extracted were then classified using a Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LSSVM) to determine defect depths. The results show a recognition accuracy of 95.2% in simulated signals and 89.1% in experimentally measured signals across various defect depths, indicating a significant improvement over existing feature extraction methodologies. This article mainly studies the strong convergence properties for randomly weighted maximum partial sums of arrays of row-wise extended negatively dependent (END, for short) random variables, including the complete moment convergence and complete f-moment convergence. The results obtained in this paper extend the corresponding ones in the literature. As an application, we investigate the complete consistency of the estimators of nonparametric regression models based on END random errors by using the complete convergence that we established. Then we provide comprehensive simulation studies to demonstrate the validity of the theoretical results based on the finite sample performance. A sequent calculus $ \mathfrak {S} $ S for the variety $ \mathsf {tqBa} $ tqBa of all topological quasi-Boolean algebras is established. Using a construction of syntactic finite algebraic model, the finite model property of $ \mathfrak {S} $ S is shown, and thus the decidability of $ \mathfrak {S} $ S is obtained. We also introduce two non-distributive variants of topological quasi-Boolean algebras. For the variety $ \mathsf {TDM5} $ TDM 5 of all topological De Morgan lattices with the axiom 5, we establish a sequent calculus $ \mathfrak {S}_5 $ S 5 and prove that the cut elimination holds for it. This study aims to address debate in previous studies on whether AI has a positive or negative effect on carbon emission reduction. We used quantile regression and PSTR models to study the diverse impacts of AI on carbon emissions in 66 countries from 1993–2019. There were three main findings in this paper. First, the impact of AI on carbon emissions varies across countries, and its effect on carbon reduction is mainly found in high-carbon emission and high-income countries. Second, the industrial structure environment of different countries affects the role of AI in carbon reduction, with its marginal effect in limiting emissions decreasing with the rise of secondary industrial structures. Third, the impact of AI varies in countries based on their different demographic structures. The marginal effect of AI on carbon emission reduction increases in places with older populations. This study offers unique insight into the heterogeneous impact of AI on CO2 emissions. Our analysis confirms the importance of industrial and demographic structures in promoting carbon emission reduction. Considering that titanium alloy is a critical aviation resource, ensuring its machining quality is of significant importance. Surface roughness remains a key parameter for surface quality inspection. This article introduces a multi-sensor titanium alloy milling monitoring system aimed at accurately monitoring surface quality during titanium alloy processing. Principal component analysis is conducted on three-dimensional milling force and vibration. We propose a multi-objective cutting parameter optimization procedure to simultaneously optimize multiple cutting parameters to improve surface roughness and tool life. Considering the high dependence of visual measurement on the light source, we strive to mitigate this limitation and improve prediction accuracy by considering one-dimensional and two-dimensional feature values. We establish a multidimensional signal feature surface roughness prediction system based on milling parameters, milling vibration, milling force, and texture image features. Using particle swarm algorithm and machine learning models, the undetermined parameters in the prediction system are obtained. The results show that the prediction accuracy of the multi-signal feature fusion surface roughness prediction system is 99.12%, with a mean square error of less than 0.01. This study aimed to examine factors, healthcare utilization, and medical costs associated with potentially inappropriate use of benzodiazepines in persons living with HIV (PLWH). We used big data from Medicare claims in 2017. Potentially inappropriate use of benzodiazepines was defined as having any benzodiazepine claims in individuals 65+ years or having benzodiazepine claims for more than four weeks in individuals 18–64 years. Logistic regressions, zero-inflated negative binomial regressions, and generalized linear models were used. This study included 1,211 PLWH and 235 (19.41%) had potentially inappropriate use of benzodiazepines. PLWH who were 65+ years (OR: 0.56; 95% CI: 0.33, 0.96), non-Hispanic blacks (OR: 0.29; 95% CI: 0.20, 0.41), or Hispanics (OR: 0.55; 95% CI: 0.35, 0.88) were less likely to use benzodiazepines inappropriately. PLWH who had potentially inappropriate use of benzodiazepines had more inpatient (IRR: 1.46; 95% CI: 1.10, 1.94), outpatient (IRR: 1.14; 95% CI 1.02, 1.28), and emergency room (IRR: 1.32; 95% CI: 1.03, 1.68) visits. Potentially inappropriate use of benzodiazepines was associated with higher total (β: 0.16; 95% CI: 0.07, 0.25), Medicare (β: 0.18; 95% CI: 0.07, 0.28), and out-of-pocket (β: 0.21; 95% CI: 0.05, 0.36) costs. Based on the integration of ecological systems theory and the risk and protective factor model, the current study tested whether individual relative deprivation mediated the association between perceived social support and adolescents' experiential avoidance and whether this mediation model was moderated by subjective social class. A sample of 582 senior high school students in China participated in the current survey. The results indicated that perceived social support was negatively related to the students' experiential avoidance. Mediation analysis showed a significant indirect effect of perceived social support on experiential avoidance, via individual relative deprivation. Moreover, the mediation effect of individual relative deprivation was moderated by subjective social class. Specifically, the negative relationship between perceived social support and individual relative deprivation, and the direct relationship between perceived social support and experiential avoidance were stronger for adolescents with low subjective social class. The relationship between fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and blood pressure (BP) is a controversial issue. We conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis and identified 58 genome-wide significant single-nucleotide polymorphisms associated with PM2.5 as instrument variables. Inverse-variance weighted (IVW) was used as the primary analysis approach. MR-Egger, weighted median, simple model, and weighted model methods were selected for quality control. We found a significant negative causal association of higher genetically predicted PM2.5 levels with lower systolic BP (SBP), while no causal relationship was identified between PM2.5 and diastolic BP (DBP). For each 1 standard deviation increase in genetically predicted PM2.5 levels, the beta value (95% CI) of SBP was -0.14 (-0.25, -0.03) for IVW (p=0.02), and -0.13 (-0.22, -0.04) for weighted median (p=0.005). Increased PM2.5 concentrations can lead to decreased SBP levels. Our findings provided novel insights into the controversial topic on the causal relationship between PM2.5 and BP. To alleviate the congestion caused by long parking lines in office-oriented garages, we explore the parking reservation management strategy and focus on the optimization of arrival patterns. A k-means algorithm based on dynamic time warping (DTW) is initially applied to extract the representative arrival patterns of parking vehicles. Based on these patterns, a bi-objective arrival optimization model is then developed to decrease traffic delay time and reduce individual discomfort due to arrival time shifts. The Pareto solution set is obtained, suggesting a potentially optimal balance between traffic delay and individual discomfort. The further analysis indicates that, strategically redistributing a small percentage of vehicle arrivals can mitigate congestion under certain conditions. For small-, medium-, and large-sized garages, shifting 9.01%, 6.90% and 11.07%, respectively, of the arrival demand to either of the adjacent time windows can reduce traffic delay time by 32.74%, 49.01% and 63.27%, respectively. Vitality is a crucial element in the quality control of live scallops. Nevertheless, the effect of energy fluctuations resulting from the reproductive development of scallops on vitality during storage remains unclear. Changes in the biochemical composition of scallops throughout the year were analyzed, and live scallops with high and low glycogen were selected for dry storage. The results showed that glycogen content fluctuations ranged almost 20-fold between the highest and lowest levels. However, the other proximate composition did not change significantly. The antidepressant-like effects of five herbal essential oils (EOs), Jasminum sambac (Linn.) Aiton essential oil (JSEOs), Magnolia denudata Desr. essential oil (MDEOs), Rosa rugosa Thunb. essential oil (RREOs), Aloysia citriodora Ortega ex Pers. essential oil (ACEOs) and Abies balsamea (L.) Mill. essential oil (ABEOs) were evaluated. By virtue of a reserpine-induced depression mouse model, the antidepression activities and mechanisms of these EOs were explored. The results indicated that the inhalation of EOs significantly ameliorated depression-like behaviors in reserpine-induced depression mice, including a decrease in anxiety and immobility time. JSEOs and ABEOs significantly attenuated reserpine-induced depression-like behaviors, particularly the decreased body weight and immobility time, as determined by tail suspension and forced swimming tests. Furthermore, RT-qPCR and western blotting analyses indicated that the EOs influenced brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), serotonin1A (5-HT1A), and inflammatory cytokine levels. ACEOs attenuated reserpine-induced hippocampal and neuronal damage, significantly increased glucocorticoid receptor (GR) and 5-HT1A levels, and suppressed the inflammatory response. These results provide new insights into the antidepressant effects of herbal EOs and suggest that the five EOs evaluated in this study are potential nutraceuticals for the treatment of depression. Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is caused by a pathologic and destructive response of the organism as a result of the interaction between donor immunocompetent T lymphocytes and the recipient tisular antigens1. Graft-versus-host disease is considered a serious complication of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The skin, oral cavity and lungs are commonly affected organs. Among these complications bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome is a serious complication, which even can be life-threatening. Therefore, this research aims to do a clinical observation on the safety and efficacy of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of bronchiolitis obliterans after allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Fifteen patients were included in this study, who received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Among these patients, both of them were treated with azithromycin, montelukast, glucocorticoid and pirfenidone. Two of them did not receive second line anti-rejection treatment due to economic reasons, and three of them were treated with mesenchymal stem cells. These bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome-related symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness and wheezing have improved. Two of them died due to bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome related complications such as respiratory failure. Two of them not only improve the symptoms but also increased the FEV1/FVC, who were treated with mesenchymal stem cells. The comprehensive treatment regimen containing imatinib and ruxolitinib is safe and effective and mesenchymal stem cell is a promising treatment option to improve the prognosis of post-HSCT BOS. Human chromosomes carry genetic information about our life. Chromosome classification is crucial for karyotype analysis. Existing chromosome classification methods do not take into account reasoning, such as: analyzing the relationship between variables, modeling uncertainty, and performing causal reasoning. In this paper, we introduce a knowledge engine for reasoning-based human chromosome classification that stores knowledge of chromosomes via a novel representation structure, the Chromosome Part Description (CPD), and reasons over CPDs by utilizing the probability tree model (PTM) for classification. Each CPD keeps information on a particular feature of chromosomes, while the PTM provides causal reasoning capability taking CPDs as nodes and dependencies between CPDs and types as edges. Experimental results show that the proposed knowledge engine's performance increases when providing more CPDs and achieves 100% classification accuracy with more than three CPDs. Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L) essential oil (REO) has an inhibitory effect against pests and is regarded as a safe alternative to synthetic acaricides. This study investigated the acaricidal and repellent activity of REO and underlying mechanisms against Aleuroglyphus ovatus, an important mite pest of stored products. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry analysis of REO indicated that the compounds of 1,8-cineole (25.20%) was the highest. REO at 13% concentration provided the highest repellent effect (92.67%) on A. ovatus, and the lowest repellent activity (48.67%) was at 0.8% concentration. Microscopic observations revealed that the mite epidermis started to shrink after treatment with REO at 6 h post-treatment. The enzyme level of catalase (CAT), acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) decreased significantly (P < 0.05), whereas there was a significant increase (P < 0.05) in nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and glutathione-s-transferases (GST) activities in A. ovatus treated with REO. In the molecular docking study, camphor and 1,8-cineole, the main monoterpenes of REO, bind more closely with CAT and AChE, and PI-conjugated interaction, hydrogen bonding, and hydrophobic were found by molecular docking 3D model. Text input is one of the common interaction tasks in virtual environments. However, current inputting methods (e.g., laser-input: aim-and-shoot technique) have many limitations, such as inefficiency, lack of precision, and fatigue of long-text inputting. We propose a Climbing Keyboard method to allow easier, faster, and more accurate text input, and use tilt instead of precise aiming. The selected target changes from a specific letter to a group of letters with such a tilt-based interaction based on the QWERTY layout, which aims to reduce the learning cost, especially for novice users. Meanwhile, expert users can focus on the screen without looking at the keyboard. We designed three user studies to evaluate the performance of proposed method, including the verification of the usability of the tilt interaction method in the first study, optimization of the tilt angle range in the second study, and evaluation of the learning curve of Climbing keyboard in the last study. A flame retardant rigid polyurethane foam (FR-RPUF) boasting good mechanical properties is developed by integrating phosphorus-based compounds (DBHP/DMMP) and organically modified microcrystal muscovite (OM-MCM). During foaming, OM-MCM undergoes in-situ exfoliation, yielding RPUF nanocomposites with heightened mechanical strength. The combined deployment of OM-MCM and DBHP/DMMP enables FR-RPUF to achieve an excellent flame retardancy (such as UL94 V-0 rating). This flame retardant effect stems from a bi-phase mechanism: trapping effect of phosphorus-containing radicals in the gas phase and enhanced charring of nanominerals in the condensed phase. The tribological properties of γ-TiAl alloys under sliding condition have been well established, but the mechanisms for fretting wear, especially at elevated temperature, remain to be further clarified. In the present study, the tribological behaviors and mechanisms of a γ-TiAl alloy were investigated under an elevated temperature fretting condition. The wear scars, debris, and tribolayers were studied with scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive spectrometer, and Raman spectrometer. The structural and mechanical properties of the tribolayers were investigated utilizing transmission electron microscope and nanoindentation tests. The results demonstrated that the severe adhesive wear, delamination, and abrasive wear in the early stage of fretting resulted in high wear rate of the γ-TiAl alloy. As fretting progresses, the formation of tribolayers with nanograins and excellent mechanical properties improved the fretting wear resistance of the γ-TiAl alloy. AbstractWith the recently emerged digital platforms in logistics, shippers can easily collaborate by bundling their heavy less-than-truckload orders via multi-stop truckload shipping to reduce transportation cost. The platform has responsibility for planning the shipping routes, for bundling the orders and fairly allocating the cost to shippers. To address this challenging problem in practice, we propose a new cooperative game based on a variant of a pickup and delivery model with soft time windows for shipper collaboration. The centralized optimization model is NP-hard and the core of the game may be empty. We adopt the least-core concept and simplify the core stability constraints as route-wise conditions. Based on theoretical results, we propose an innovative route-generation joint searching algorithm that iteratively solves the centralized optimization and least-core allocation problems at the same time, where the route-generation subproblem is solved by a customized multi-start local search subroutine. Extensive computational experiments on a real-world case demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can quickly generate a near-optimal solution with minor optimality gap and a least-core allocation with small stability deviation. Carbon fibre-reinforced plastics (CFRPs) are increasingly widely used in aerospace, automotive, energy and weapon equipment industries. It is inevitable to consider the connection process between CFRPs and traditional metal materials (such as steel and aluminium alloy). In this paper, a new one-time hot pressing method to prepare CFRPs and aluminium alloy hetero-structure bonding joint was first proposed to shorten the process chain. Then, the effects of different combinations of forming temperature and pressure on the properties of the structure were systematically investigated through shear strength tests and short-beam three-point bending experiments. And the range analysis and analysis of variance were used to analyze the effects of forming temperature and pressure on the formability and forming performances of the hetero-structures. It is found that it is feasible to manufacture the hetero-structure bonding joint between CFRPs and aluminium alloy by using hot pressing one-time forming process, and 400 °C, 0.4 MPa might be used as the best one-step forming process conditions for the CFRPs and aluminium alloy hetero-structure. Service robots are used in all aspects of the service industry and improve business efficiency dramatically. However, service robot failures are also prevalent. This paper explores the interaction effect between symbolic service recovery and service robot social perception on service evaluations, the underlying mechanism, and the boundary conditions. Through three experiments with multiple service scenarios, such as hotel, restaurant, and tourist attraction, we find that service robots with warm perceptions using humor responses for a service recovery result in better service evaluations, whereas service robots with competent perceptions using rational responses for a service recovery result in better service evaluations. In addition, our research verifies the mediating role of perceived relief and perceived sincerity and identifies the moderating role of the locus of responsibility. Bioimpedance analysis (BIA)–body composition monitoring (BCM) has been used to evaluate the hydration and nutritional status of adults and children on dialysis. However, its clinical application still has challenges, so further exploration is valuable. We used BIA-BCM to evaluate the hydration and nutritional status of children undergoing chronic peritoneal dialysis from 1 July 2021 to 31 December 2022 in the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University to explore the clinical value of this method. A total of 84 children on chronic peritoneal dialysis (PD) were included. In the PD group, 16 (19.05%) and 31 (36.90%) had mild and severe overhydration (OH), respectively; 41.27% (26/63) had a low lean tissue index (LTI). In the PD group, patients with relative OH (Re-OH) > 5.6% had significantly higher systolic blood pressure (SBP) and SBP z score (SBPz). Patients with LTI > 12% had significantly higher body mass index (BMI) and BMI z score (BMIz). Canonical correlation analysis indicated a linear relationship (ρ=0.708) between BIA-BCM hydration and the clinical hydration indicator and a linear relationship (ρ = 0.995) between the BIA-BCM nutritional indicator and the clinical nutritional indicator. A total of 56% of children on chronic peritoneal dialysis had OH, and 41% had a low LTI. In PD patients, SBP and SBPz were correlated with BIA-BCM Re-OH, and BMI and BMIz were correlated with BIA-BCM LTI. BIA-BCM indicators have good clinical value in evaluating hydration and nutrition. Malus × adstringens Zabel 'Hopa' is an important crabapple cultivar with significant ornamental value. Here, we assembled its complete chloroplast (cp) genome using the next-generation sequencing technology to clarify the phylogenetic relationships in Malus. The total length of the complete chloroplast genome was 160,230 base pairs (bp) with a GC content of 36.50%, consisting of a large single-copy (LSC) region with a sequence length of 88,310 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region with a sequence length of 19,196 bp, and a pair of inverted repeat (IR) regions of 26,362 bp. The complete chloroplast genome contained 128 genes, namely 84 protein-coding genes, 36 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. In addition, 73 SSRs were found in the M. 'Hopa' cp genome. The phylogenetic relationship of M. 'Hopa' in Malus is closely related to M. spectabilis (Aiton) Borkh. and then to M. sieversii (Lebed.) M. Roem. Our results demonstrate that it is feasible to resolve the phylogenetic relationships of crabapple cultivars and identify their putative maternal lineages using cp genomic data. As no unified treatment protocol or evidence yet exists for plasmapheresis without plasma, this study explored the outcomes of using 4% human albumin (ALB) solution as a replacement solution in patients undergoing plasma exchange for multiple myeloma (MM) patients with acute kidney injury (AKI). This study was prospectively registered (ChiCTR2000030640 and NCT05251896). Bortezomib-based chemotherapy plus therapeutic plasmapheresis (TPP) with 4% human ALB solution was assessed for three years in patients with MM aged >18 years, with AKI according to the Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes criteria, and without previous renal impairment from other causes. The primary endpoints were changes in renal function over 18 weeks and survival outcomes at 36 months. The secondary endpoints were the incidence of adverse reactions and symptom improvement. Among the 119 patients included in the analysis, 108 experienced renal reactions. The M protein (absolute changes: median −12.12%, interquartile ranges (IQRs) −18.62 to −5.626) and creatine (median −46.91μmol/L, IQR −64.70 to −29.12) levels decreased, whereas the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) increased (median 20.66mL/(min·1.73 m² ), IQR 16.03–25.29). Regarding patient survival, 68.1% and 35.3% of patients survived for >12 and >36 months, respectively. The three symptoms with the greatest relief were urine foam, poor appetite, and blurred vision. All 11 patients (7.6%) who experienced mild adverse reactions achieved remission. In conclusion, in MM patients with AKI, plasma-free plasmapheresis with 4% human ALB solution and bortezomib-based chemotherapy effectively alleviated light chain damage to kidney function while improving patient quality of life. Inspired by the increasing cause marketing (CM) practices of business firms, this paper investigates an e-tailer's incentives to share demand information with its supplier who may implement a CM campaign. Two different selling modes, agency selling and reselling, are examined. Although most previous studies suggest that a retailer should withhold its private demand observations to maintain an information advantage over the supplier, we find that CM may be a driving factor which motivates the e-tailer to share demand information with its supplier under certain conditions. Specifically, when the CM implementation cost is small or large, the e-tailer would like to share demand information under agency selling mode while keeping information private under reselling mode. When the CM implementation cost is intermediate, the consumer's prosociality level is high and information uncertainty is small, the e-tailer misleads (incentives) the supplier to implement CM by withholding (sharing) information under the agency selling (reselling) mode; otherwise, the e-tailer prefers to share (withhold) information under the agency selling (reselling) mode. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by the overproduction of multiple autoantibodies. Lupus nephritis (LN), the most common cause of morbidity and mortality, requires early detection. However, only a limited number of serum biomarkers have been associated with the disease activity of LN. Serum IgE anti-dsDNA autoantibodies are prevalent in patients with SLE and may be associated with the pathogenesis of LN. In this study, serum samples from 88 patients with biopsy-proven proliferative LN were collected along with complete clinical and pathological data to investigate the clinical and pathological associations of anti-dsDNA IgE autoantibodies using ELISA. This study found that the prevalence of IgE anti-dsDNA autoantibodies in patients with proliferative LN was 38.6% (34/88). Patients with anti-dsDNA IgE autoantibodies were more prone to acute kidney injury (17/34 vs. 14/54; p = .025). Levels of anti-dsDNA IgE autoantibodies were associated with interstitial inflammation (r = 0.962, p = .017). Background: Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is an important cause of refractory nephrotic syndrome (NS) in children and adults. Urinary CD80 is elevated in some patients with primary FSGS, however, its clinical value is not fully clarified. This study aims to evaluate the clinical and pathological significance of urinary CD80 in patients with primary FSGS. Methods: Sixty-one adult patients with biopsy-proven primary FSGS, with standard treatment and long-term follow up, were enrolled retrospectively. Urinary CD80, on the day of kidney biopsy, was measured using commercial ELISA kits and adjusted by urinary creatinine excretion. Their associations with clinical and pathological parameters were investigated. Results: Urinary CD80 was detectable in 30/61 (49.2%) patients, who presented with a higher level of proteinuria (10.7 vs. 5.8 g/24h; p = 0.01), a lower level of serum albumin (19.3 ± 3.9 vs. 24.2 ± 8.2 g/L; p = 0.005), a higher prevalence of hematuria (70.0 vs. 38.7%; p = 0.01), and showed a lower percentage of segmental glomerulosclerosis lesion [4.8 (3.7-14.0) vs. 9.1 (5.6-21.1) %; p = 0.06]. The cumulative relapse rate was remarkably high in these patients (log-rank, p = 0.001). Multivariate analysis identified that the elevated urinary CD80 was an independent risk factor for steroid-dependent NS (OR 8.81, 95% CI 1.41-54.89; p = 0.02) and relapse (HR, 2.87; 95% CI 1.29-6.38; p = 0.01). Conclusions: The elevated urinary CD80 is associated with mild pathological change and steroid-dependent cases of primary FSGS adults, which indicates these patients are more similar to minimal change disease (MCD) in clinicopathological features. Methionine (Met) can promote milk fat synthesis in bovine mammary epithelial cells (BMECs), but the potential molecular mechanism is largely unknown. In this report, we aim to explore the role and molecular mechanism of AT-rich interaction domain 1A (ARID1A) in milk fat synthesis stimulated by Met. ARID1A knockdown and activation indicated that ARID1A negatively regulated the synthesis of triglycerides, cholesterol and free fatty acids and the formation of lipid droplets in BMECs. ARID1A also negatively regulated the phosphorylation of PI3K and AKT proteins, as well as the expression and maturation of SREBP1. Met stimulated the phosphorylation of PI3K and AKT proteins, as well as the expression and maturation of SREBP1, while ARID1A gene activation blocked the stimulatory effects of Met. We further found that ARID1A was located in the nucleus of BMECs, and Met reduced the nuclear localization and expression of ARID1A. ARID1A gene activation blocked the stimulation of PI3K and SREBP1 mRNA expression by Met. In summary, our data suggests that ARID1A negatively regulates milk fat synthesis stimulated by Met in BMECs through inhibiting the PI3K-SREBP1 signaling pathway, which may provide some new perspectives for improving milk fat synthesis. This paper constructs a modified partially truncated Euler-Maruyama (EM) method for stochastic differential equations with piecewise continuous arguments (SDEPCAs), where the drift and diffusion coefficients grow superlinearly. We divide the coefficients of SDEPCAs into global Lipschitz continuous and superlinearly growing parts. Our method only truncates the superlinear terms of the coefficients to overcome the potential explosions caused by the nonlinearities of the coefficients. The strong convergence theory of this method is established and the 1/2 convergence rate is presented. Furthermore, an explicit scheme is developed to preserve the mean square exponential stability of the underlying SDEPCAs. A series of OA-tacrine hybrids with the alkylamine linker was designed, synthesized, and evaluated as effective cholinesterase inhibitors for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Biological activity results demonstrated that some hybrids possessed significant inhibitory activities against acetylcholinesterase (AChE). Among them, compounds B4 (hAChE, IC50 = 14.37 ± 1.89 nM; SI > 695.89) and D4 (hAChE, IC50 = 0.18 ± 0.01 nM; SI = 3374.44) showed excellent inhibitory activities and selectivity for AChE as well as low nerve cell toxicity. Furthermore, compounds B4 and D4 exhibited lower hepatotoxicity than tacrine in cell viability, apoptosis, and intracellular ROS production for HepG2 cells. Doxorubicin (DOX) is a commonly studied chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of solid tumors, but the severe side effects limit its clinical application. It is shown that DOX-metal chelate has lower in vitro cytotoxicity compared with DOX, as the anthracyclines of DOX can form coordinative interaction with transition metal ions. In addition, the transition metal ions could catalyze the production of hydroxyl radicals (·OH) via Fenton/Fenton-like reactions to achieve antitumor chemodynamic therapy (CDT). In this study, copper ions (Cu2+) were applied to obtain DOX/Cu(II) prodrug, and a liposomal formulation was used to avoid the rapid blood clearance and optimize the biodistribution of this prodrug. In vitro and in vivo antitumor results demonstrated that this pH sensitive Cu-chelating prodrug can reduce adverse effects of DOX but improve the antitumor efficiency due to the combination of chemotherapy and chemodynamic therapy. In transdermal drug delivery systems, the physicochemical properties of the drug affect its percutaneous permeability. However, whether the physicochemical properties of drugs change their transdermal permeability in the presence of pores in the presence of solid microneedles (MNs) has been less studied in this area. In this project, cinnamaldehyde, curcumin, ferulic acid and geniposide were selected as model drugs for the study of their transdermal permeability under the action of MNs, and a combination of classical experiments and visualization means such as scanning electron microscopy and laser confocal was used to investigate the permeation-promoting mechanism of MNs. The results showed that the MNs had significant permeation-promoting effects on different properties of drugs, with the permeation-promoting effects on cinnamaldehyde, curcumin, ferulic acid and geniposide being 6.36, 17.43, 29.54 and 8.91 times, respectively, and the permeation-promoting effects were more pronounced for lipid-soluble and amphiphilic drugs. Using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and other means to confirm that MNs can promote the penetration by acting on the skin to produce pores, and their effect on skin structure is greater than that of drugs. In addition, the existence of pores increases the amount of drug transdermal, which may enhance the diffusion of drug on the skin, and has no effect on lipid exchange and transdermal route. The poor cracking resistance of Semi-Flexible Pavement (SFP) mixture has limited its wider application. Particularly, the dual skeletal interlocking structure makes its damage process complicated. Its fracture process is expected to change with aggregate gradation and temperature, but the relevant knowledge is very limited. Thus, this study aims to investigate the effects of the two factors on the fracture characteristics of SFP using the acoustic emission (AE) technique and X-ray computed tomography (CT) approach. SFP specimens with three gradations (the target cement grout volume is 22%, 25% and 30%, respectively) were fabricated and subjected to the split tensile tests at three different temperatures (−10°C, 10°C and 25°C). Machine learning-based techniques were applied to analyze the AE signals to improve the understanding of the mesoscale damage process. Although the analysis of macro mechanical parameters showed the diminishing effect of temperature dependency on the fracture process with an increase in cement grout volume, the effect was found to be still significant based on the mesoscale analysis. Besides, it was found that the damage process transferred from the main crack going through cement to distributed meso-cracks in asphalt and cement with the temperature increase. This single-centre retrospective cohort study aimed to investigate whether a clomiphene citrate (CC) priming protocol could increase ovarian sensitivity in poor ovarian responders. It included 294 patients (374 ovarian stimulation cycles). Of these, 193 cycles were treated by a CC priming antagonist protocol (study group) and 181 by the classical flexible gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist protocol (control group). Stimulation data and laboratory and clinical outcomes were compared between the groups. The results showed that in the study group, total gonadotropin dosage and dosage per follicle were considerably lower, the follicle-to-oocyte index was significantly higher, and the gonadotropin duration was shorter. After adjusting for potential confounders, multivariate regression analysis showed that cumulative ongoing pregnancy remained comparable between the groups (adjusted odds ratio: 0.761, 95% confidence interval: 0.300–1.933, p = 0.566). Age, body mass index, gonadotropin dosage per follicle, and the follicle-to-oocyte index were negatively associated with the reproductive outcomes. The result of the sensitivity analysis showed that patients in the study group were administered less gonadotropin at a lower gonadotropin dosage per follicle and for a shorter duration. In conclusion, the CC priming antagonist protocol offered a convenient and patient-friendly way to increase ovarian sensitivity during ovarian stimulation in poor ovarian responders. Trichomonas vaginalis (TV) may have an impact on other reproductive tract infections. Studies on the connection between the infection of TV and human papillomavirus (HPV) have been inconsistent. We performed a systematic review of the relevant articles through keywords that satisfy the criteria and filtered the articles according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. A total of 16 eligible studies were screened for the meta-analysis, involving a total of 150,605 women. RevMan 5.4 software was used for meta-analysis of the selected literatures. The results showed that the papers included in this study had good homogeneity and no significant publication bias was found in the current analysis. The pooled estimates using a fixed-effects model showed that TV was more prevalent in HPV-infected women than in non-infected women [odds ratio (OR): 1.51, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.29–1.75]; In turn, HPV was more widespread in TV-infected women than in uninfected women (OR: 3.62, 95% CI: 2.71–4.85). Moreover, the interaction between TV and HPV infection was insensitive to the deletion of some studies and correlation coefficients, consequently, the results were robust and reliable. Low meat performance is the defect of Small Tail Han sheep. Intramuscular fat affects meat quality and largely determined by adipogenesis. In previous study, miR136 was showed one of differentially expressed microRNAs between preadipocytes and mature adipocytes of Small Tail Han sheep but its role in adipogenesis is still not elucidated. Here, we investigated the effect of miR136 on adipogenesis and the underlying mechanism. qPCR data showed that miR136 level increased with preadipocytes proliferation while declined with preadipocytes differentiation. Moreover, miR136 mimics blocked lipid droplet formation, reduced lipid content and triglyceride accumulation while miR136 inhibitor showed the opposite effects, revealing that miR136 promoted preadipocytes proliferation but inhibited preadipocytes differentiation. Bioinformatics and biochemical validation manifested that PPARGC1B was a target of miR136. Furthermore, miR136 mimics decreased PPARγ and C/EBPα expression accompanied by PPARGC1B expression descending. Reverse effects were observed with miR136 inhibitor. Besides, overexpression of miR136 elevated IGF1 expression. Collectively, our data first exhibited a regulatory role of miR136 in adipogenesis, which is promoting preadipocytes proliferation through elevating IGF1 expression while inhibiting preadipocytes differentiation through targeting PPARGC1B and further declined PPARγ and C/EBPα expression. The objective of this study was to evaluate the shade tolerance of one annual and five perennial Medicago genotypes under different artificial shade levels and determine the shade tolerant candidates for an intercropping system. The results showed that shade significantly affected branch number and plant dry weight, but not plant height and leaf area. The mean branch number and dry weight plant−1 (g) across the tested genotypes were 42.5 and 2.2 under non-shade condition, decreased to 39.5 and 2.0 at 25% shade level, and were further reduced to 17.2 and 0.4 at 75% shade level, respectively. The mean chlorophyll content (mg g−1) and maximum quantum yield of Photosystem II (Fv/Fm) across the tested genotypes at 75% shade level (38.8; 0.6) were significantly lower than other shade levels (46.6–47.3; 0.69–0.70). Antioxidant enzyme activity and malondialdehyde production in Medicago leaves increased concomitantly with increased shade levels compared to non-shade control. The evaluation showed that annual M. polymorpha 'Jinhuacai' (range of mean: 0.97–5.97 g) significantly out-yielded those perennials (range of mean: 0.26–2.57 g) by a wide margin at all shade levels. This study would provide baseline information on shade tolerance of Medicago species for the selection of intercropped candidates in an intercropping system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
