The digital transformation is affecting museums. New technologies such as applications, beacons, QR codes, virtual guides, holograms, touchscreens, and augmented reality are commonly adopted. Although much research was conducted on how visitors perceived the adoption of new technologies by museums, little is known about the reaction of the staff. Individual predispositions such as resistance to change, AI anxiety, and attitudes towards robots were used as the independent variables. This paper presents the research conducted on 220 museum employees. The results suggest that museum staff react to the decision on the adoption of social robots cognitively, emotionally, and behaviourally. Negative cognitive reactions are elicited by earlier negative attitudes towards interactions with robots. Negative emotional reactions are associated with earlier negative attitudes towards interactions with robots and the fear of being replaced. Ultimately, behavioural reactions are elicited by all of the above along with the anxiety of learning new technological skills. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

An augmented reality (AR) mobile smartphone application was developed for clinicians to improve their knowledge about the contents and organisation of a standardised paediatric code cart, an important tool in safe, effective paediatric resuscitations. This study used focus groups and interviews with 22 clinicians to identify work system barriers and facilitators to use of the application. We identified twelve dimensions of barriers and facilitators: convenience, device ownership, device size and type, gamification, interface design, movement/physical space, perception of others, spatial presence, technological experience, technological glitches, workload, and the perception and attitude towards code cart and resuscitation. These dimensions can guide improvement efforts, e.g. redesigning the interface, providing non-AR modes, improving the tutorial. We propose nine principles to guide the design of other digital health technologies incorporating AR. In particular, the workload demands created by using AR must be considered and accounted for in the design and implementation of such technologies. The focus of this study is to identify the key determinants that influence tourists' intention to use augmented reality (AR) technology and explore the moderating effect of millennials on the relationship between subjective norms and tourists' intention to use AR technology. The results indicate that (1) tourists' attitude towards AR technology is significantly and positively affected by perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, while perceived risk does not significantly influence their intention to use; (2) there are strong positive interactions between the attitude towards and subjective norms of AR technology and tourists' intention to use this technology; and (3) nonmillennial tourists' intention to use AR technology is less influenced by subjective norms compared to the results from millennial tourists. The term 'smart cities' is contested: its interpretation is becoming ever broader, often to accommodate commercial interests. Since cities are made up of individuals, all of whom are guided by their own world views and attitudes, the residual question is not 'what should we do?' but 'how should we do it and how should we encourage and enable everyone to join in?' By exploring the ways that gamification can be used to understand the effects of 'smart initiatives' on cities and their operation, it was concluded that gaming has considerable potential to affect individual and societal practices by profoundly influencing the gamers themselves, while technology and the game design itself play a central role to how gamification is implemented and used. This paper proposes one way of both creating cities to which citizens aspire and delivering a beneficial change in attitudes and behaviours to make such cities work. We propose that way-finding games should be developed as the most appropriate tools for participation. Designing such serious games with sustainability, resilience and liveability agendas in mind, encouraging widespread citizen participation as gamers, and taking cognisance of the outcomes would lead to both smarter citizens and smarter cities. Purpose:New rehabilitation strategies for post-stroke upper limb rehabilitation employing visual stimulation show promising results, however, cost-efficient and clinically feasible ways to provide these interventions are still lacking. An integral step is to translate recent technological advances, such as in virtual and augmented reality, into therapeutic practice to improve outcomes for patients. This requires research on the adaptation of the technology for clinical use as well as on the appropriate guidelines and protocols for sustainable integration into therapeutic routines. Here, we present and evaluate a novel and affordable augmented reality system (Augmented Reflection Technology, ART) in combination with a validated mirror therapy protocol for upper limb rehabilitation after stroke. Method:We evaluated components of the therapeutic intervention, from the patients’ and the therapists’ points of view in a clinical feasibility study at a rehabilitation centre. We also assessed the integration of ART as an adjunct therapy for the clinical rehabilitation of subacute patients at two different hospitals. Results:The results showed that the combination and application of theBerlin Protocol for Mirror Therapytogether with ART was feasible for clinical use. This combination was integrated into the therapeutic plan of subacute stroke patients at the two clinical locations where the second part of this research was conducted. Conclusions:Our findings pave the way for using technology to provide mirror therapy in clinical settings and show potential for the more effective use of inpatient time and enhanced recoveries for patients. Purpose: Augmented Reality musical software (GenVirtual) is a technology, which primarily allows users to develop music activities for rehabilitation. This study aimed to analyse the perceptions of health care professionals regarding the clinical utility of GenVirtual. A second objective was to identify improvements to GenVirtual software and similar technologies.Method: Music therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapist who assist people with physical and cognitive disabilities were enrolled in three focus groups. The quantitative and qualitative data were collected through inductive thematic analysis.Results: Three main themes were identified: the use of GenVirtual in health care areas; opportunities for realistic application of GenVirtual; and limitations in the use of GenVirtual. The registration units identified were: motor stimulation, cognitive stimulation, verbal learning, recreation activity, musicality, accessibility, motivation, sonic accuracy, interference of lighting, poor sound, children and adults.Conclusion: This research suggested that the GenVirtual is a complementary tool to conventional clinical practice and has great potential to motor and cognitive rehabilitation of children and adults.Implications for RehabilitationGaining health professional’ perceptions of the Augmented Reality musical game (GenVirtual) give valuable information as to the clinical utility of the software.GenVirtual was perceived as a tool that could be used as enhancing the motor and cognitive rehabilitation process.GenVirtual was viewed as a tool that could enhance clinical practice and communication among various agencies, but it was suggested that it should be used with caution to avoid confusion and replacement of important services.
