Background: The expression of CYP19A1 has implications for the prognosis of female bladder cancer. However, this study aimed to explore the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in CYP19A1 and bladder cancer risk, as no prior research has addressed this association., Research Design and Methods: We selected and genotyped five CYP19A1 SNPs (rs4646, rs6493487, rs1062033, rs17601876, and rs3751599) in 217 patients and 550 controls using the Agena MassARRAY system. Logistic regression analysis was employed to calculate the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Bioinformatics predicted SNP functions and CYP19A1 involving pathways., Results: Our study revealed a significant association between bladder cancer risk and four SNPs (rs4646 (AC vs. CC: OR = 1.71, FDR- p  = 0.005), rs6493487 (G vs. A: OR = 0.68, FDR- p  = 0.011), rs1062033 (G vs. C: OR = 0.36, FDR- p  < 0.001), and rs17601876 (GA vs. GG: OR = 1.66, FDR- p  = 0.008)) in CYP19A1 . The three SNPs (rs4646, rs1062033, and rs17601876) were significantly correlated with CYP19A1 expression levels in normal whole blood ( p  < 0.05). Moreover, CYP19A1 was found to primarily participate in the steroid hormone biosynthesis and metabolic pathways., Conclusions: Consequently, CYP19A1 gene polymorphisms may play a crucial role in the genetic susceptibility to bladder cancer.

Studies suggest that clonal plants' ability to select habitats and forage in a heterogeneous environment is influenced by their past environment, with stress legacy potentially playing a crucial role. In this study, we examined parental ramets of Duchesnea indica Focke that were subject to either a control or lead-contaminated environment (past environment), and their newborn offspring were then transplanted into control, homogeneous lead or heterogeneous lead environment (present environment). We analysed how past and present environments affect plant growth and DNA methylation in offspring. The result shown that the DNA methylation loci composition of offspring was affected by the interaction of parental environment and offspring environment, and DNA methylation levels were higher in heterogeneous environments. Moreover, our findings indicate that offspring would thrive in the heterogeneous lead environment if they did not experience lead pollution in the past, their progeny will avoid lead toxicity by reducing underground biomass allocation. However, when the parents experienced lead stress environment, their biomass allocation strategies disappeared, and they prefer to grow in favourable patches to avoid lead-contaminated patches. We concluded that the integration of historical parental exposure to lead-contaminated and current information about their offspring's environment are impacting plant phenotypes. It is possible that the stress legacy from the parents has been transmitted to their offspring ramets, and the stress legacy is at least partly based on heritable epigenetic variation. The phenotypic variation regulated by the stress legacy affects the growth performance, biomass allocation strategy, and even the behaviour of D. indica .

Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide. The nudix hydrolase 17 (NUDT17) may play notable roles in cancer growth and metastasis. In this study, we explored the importance of NUDT17 gene polymorphism in patients with BC., Methods: In our study, 563 BC patients and 552 healthy controls participated. We used logistic regression analysis to calculate odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI), and multifactor dimension reduction (MDR) analysis of SNP-SNP interactions. Finally, UALCAN and THPA databases were used for bioinformatics analysis., Results: The rs9286836 G allele was associated with a decreased the BC risk ( p  = 0.022), and the carriers of rs2004659 G allele had a 32% decreased risk of BC than individuals with allele A ( p  = 0.004). In the four genetic models, rs9286836 and rs2004659 reduced the risk of BC. Additionally, we found that the NUDT17 SNPs were associated with BC risk under age, tumor size, and clinical stage stratification. The MDR analysis showed that the five-locus interaction model was the best in the multi-locus model., Conclusion: Our study found that NUDT17 single nucleotide polymorphisms are associated with BC susceptibility in Chinese Han population.

Objectives: This study aimed to detect the correlation between SOWAHB polymorphisms and Thyroid cancer (TC) risk in the Chinese Han population., Methods: We genotyped SOWAHB variants in 510 TC patients and 509 controls using Agena MassARRAY. We assessed the association between SOWAHB polymorphisms and TC susceptibility, with the significant results evaluated through FPRP analysis. We predicted TC risk by the SNP-SNP interaction, analyzed by MDR., Results: Carriers with rs2703129 CC had a lower probability of TC (codominant, recessive: p  = 0.002), while subjects with rs1874564 AG had an increased risk of developing TC (codominant, recessive: p  = 0.000, log-additive: p  = 0.028). In subjects aged > 45 years, rs2703129 may reduce TC predisposition (codominant: p  = 0.011, recessive: p  = 0.007), but there was an increased association between rs1874564 and TC risk (codominant: p  = 0.030, dominant: p  = 0.047). Also, rs2703129 was associated with a lower risk of TC among males (codominant: p  = 0.018, recessive: p  = 0.013). Conversely, rs1874564 was associated with an increased risk of TC in females (codominant: p  = 0.001, dominant: p  = 0.003)., Conclusion: SOWAHB SNPs were related to the occurrence of TC, and rs2703129 may be a protective site for TC.

Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the effects of Ninjurin 2 (NINJ2) polymorphisms on susceptibility to coronary heart disease (CHD)., Methods: We conducted a case-control study with 499 CHD cases and 505 age and gender-matched controls. Five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in NINJ2 (rs118050317, rs75750647, rs7307242, rs10849390, and rs11610368) were genotyped by the Agena MassARRAY platform. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using logistic regression analysis to assess the association of NINJ2 polymorphisms and CHD risk-adjusted for age and gender. What's more, risk genes and molecular functions were screened via protein-protein interaction (PPI) network and functional enrichment analysis., Results: Rs118050317 in NINJ2 significantly increased CHD risk in people aged more than 60 years and women. Rs118050317 and rs7307242 had strong relationships with hypertension risk in CHD patients. Additionally, rs75750647 exceedingly raised diabetes risk in cases under multiple models, whereas rs10849390 could protect CHD patients from diabetes in allele, homozygote, and additive models. We also observed two blocks in NINJ2. Further interaction network and enrichment analysis showed that NINJ2 played a greater role in the pathogenesis and progression of CHD., Conclusion: Our results suggest that NINJ2 polymorphisms are associated with CHD risk.

Background: Our study aimed to elucidate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in CYP2B6 gene and susceptibility to lung cancer (LC)., Methods: Five SNPs in CYP2B6 were genotyped in Chinese Han population (507 cases and 505 controls) utilizing Agena MassARRAY. The relationship between these SNPs and LC susceptibility was assessed using odds ratios, 95% confidence intervals, and χ2 tests. Additionally, multifactor dimensionality reduction was employed to analyze SNP-SNP interactions. Bioinformatics methods were applied to investigate the function of these SNPs., Results: We found that rs2099361 was associated with an increased susceptibility to LC in the codominant model (OR = 1.31, p  = 0.045). Stratification analysis revealed the allele G at rs4803418 and the allele T at rs4803420 of CYP2B6 (BMI >24 kg/m 2 ) were significantly linked to decreased susceptibility of LC. Conversely, the allele C at rs12979270 (BMI >24 kg/m 2 ) showed increased susceptibility to LC. Moreover, a robust redundant relationship between rs12979270 and rs4803420 was identified in the study. According to the VannoPortal database, we found that rs4803420, rs12979270 and rs2099361 may modulate the binding affinity of LMNB1, SP1 and HDAC2, respectively., Conclusions: Our results suggest that SNPs in the CYP2B6 gene play crucial roles in LC susceptibility.

Gypsophila huashanensis Y. W. Tsui & D. Q. Lu (Caryophyllaceae) is an endemic herb species to the Qinling Mountains in China. In this study, we characterized its whole plastid genome using the Illumina sequencing platform. The complete plastid genome of G. huashanensis is 152,457 bp in length, including a large single-copy DNA region of 83,476 bp, a small single-copy DNA region of 17,345 bp, and a pair of inverted repeat DNA sequences of 25,818 bp. The genome contains 130 genes comprising 85 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and eight rRNA genes. Evolutionary analysis showed that the non-coding regions of Caryophyllaceae exhibit a higher level of divergence than the exon regions. Gene site selection analysis suggested that 11 coding protein genes ( accD , atpF , ndhA , ndhB , petB , petD , rpoCl , rpoC2 , rps16 , ycfl , and ycf2 ) have some sites under protein sequence evolution. Phylogenetic analysis showed that G. huashanensis is most closely related to the congeneric species G. oldhamiana . Context: Depression is a mental disorder characterized by low mood, reduced interest, impaired cognitive function, and vegetative symptoms such as sleep disturbances or poor appetite. Iridoids are the active constituents in several Chinese classical antidepressant formulae such as Yueju Pill, Zhi-Zi-Hou-Po Decoction, Zhi-Zi-Chi Decoction, and Baihe Dihuang Decoction. Parallel to their wide usages, iridoids are considered potential lead compounds for the treatment of neurological diseases., Objective: The review summarizes the therapeutic potential and molecular mechanisms of iridoids in the prevention or treatment of depression and contributes to identifying research gaps in iridoids as potential antidepressant medication., Methods: The following key phrases were sought in PubMed, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and China National Knowledge Internet (CNKI) without time limitation to search all relevant articles with in vivo or in vitro experimental studies as comprehensively as possible: ('iridoid' or 'seciridoid' or 'depression'). This review extracted the experimental data on the therapeutic potential and molecular mechanism of plant-derived iridoids for depression., Results: Plant iridoids (i.e., catalpol, geniposide, loganin), and secoiridoids (i.e., morroniside, gentiopicroside, oleuropein, swertiamarin), all showed significant improvement effects on depression., Discussion and Conclusions: Iridoids exert antidepressant effects by elevating monoamine neurotransmitters, reducing pro-inflammatory factors, inhibiting hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis hyperactivity, increasing brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its receptors, and elevating intestinal microbial abundance. Further detailed studies on the pharmacokinetics, bioavailability, and key molecular targets of iridoids are also required in future research, ultimately to provide improvements to current antidepressant medications.

The genus Paphiopedilum is well known as the lady's slipper orchid in Orchidaceae family . Paphiopedilum bellatulum (Rchb.f.) Stein 1892, has important medicinal and ornamental value, which occurs in the tropical Asia. However, in recent decades, it was threatened with extinction by significantly reduced small population size. In this study, we sequenced and characterized the complete chloroplast genome of P. bellatulum based on the Illumina Hiseq platform. The size of P. bellatulum chloroplast genome was 156,567 bp, including a large single-copy (LSC) region of 88,243 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 3652 bp, and two inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 32,336 bp. The overall GC contents of the chloroplast genome were 35.71%. A total of 122 genes were annotated, including 76 protein-coding genes, 38 transfer RNAs (tRNAs), and eight ribosomal RNAs (rRNAs). The phylogenetic analysis indicated that P. bellatulum formed a close relationship with another Paphiopedilum species P. wenshanense . We determined the complete chloroplast genome of Pinguicula alpina , a carnivorous plant using high-throughput sequencing technology. The deduced plastome is a closed circular molecule of 147,479 bp with a quadripartite structure, including a large single-copy region (LSC) of 81,937 bp, a small single-copy region (SSC) of 13,180 bp, and a pair of inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 26,181 bp. It contains 131 genes, comprising 82 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. The GC content of the plastome, LSC, SSC, and IR regions are 38.1%, 36.1%, 31.4% and 43.0%, respectively. Paphiopedilum henryanum Braem 1987 is a critically Endangered terrestrial orchid mainly occurred around the southern China and northern Vietnamese borders. Recently, the population size of this species has been sharply declined due to many threats such as climate change, habitat loss, and narrow distribution. In this study, the complete chloroplast genome sequence of P. henryanum was determined from Illumina pair-end sequencing data. The chloroplast genome was 155,886 bp in length, including a large single copy region (LSC) of 87,573 bp, a small single-copy region (SSC) of 2,831 bp, and a pair of inverted repeated regions (IRa and IRb) of 32,741 bp each. The chloroplast genome contained 121 genes corresponding to 76 protein-coding genes, 8 ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes and 37 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, respectively. The results of phylogenetic analysis indicated that P. henryanum was closely related to P. violascens and P. venustum in the genus Paphiopedilum based on sixteen whole chloroplast genome sequences. Paphiopedilum 'GZSLKY Youyou'. is a new cultivar of Paphiopedilum with highly ornamental and horticultural value developed by crossing female parent Paphiopedilum dianthum T. Tang & F. T. Wang 1940 and male parent Paphiopedilum barbigerum T. Tang & F. T. Wang 1940. In this study, the complete chloroplast genome of the cultivar has been reconstructed from the Illumina sequencing data. The circular genome was 160,503 bp in size, containing a large single-copy region (91,582 bp), a small single-copy region (3,215 bp) and a pair of IR regions (each one 32,853 bp). The overall GC contents of the chloroplast genome was 36.20%. The chloroplast genome contained 122 genes, including 76 protein coding genes, 38 tRNA genes and 8 rRNA genes. A maximum likelihood (ML) phylogenetic tree showed that the cultivar 'GZSLKY Youyou' was clustered into the same clade with its parents and was closest related to P. dianthum , reflecting a maternal inheritance of chloroplasts. The phylogenetic relationships among Micranthes taxa remain unclear due to their diversification. Here, we report the complete chloroplast genome of Micranthes melanocentra obtained using high-throughput sequencing technology to provide genomic information for phylogenetic analyses. The plastome is 155,317 bp, with a large single-copy region (LSC) of 86,784 bp, a small single-copy region (SSC) of 18,007 bp, and a pair of 25,263 bp inverted repeat regions (IRs). The genome contains 132 genes, including 86 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, 8 rRNA genes, and 1 pseudogene. The GC content of the plastome is 37.9%; corresponding values in the LSC, SSC, and IR regions are 36.1%, 31.9%, and 43.3%, respectively. The leaf roller, Clepsis pallidana (Fabricius, 1776) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), is an important pest of many crops in China. The circular genome is 15,679 bp in length, consisting of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and a non-coding AT-rich region. The base composition of the whole mitogenome is 41.2% A, 40.1% T, 11.1% C, and 7.7% G, which shows a strong AT bias. Infections of burn wounds, especially those caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa , could trigger sepsis or septic shock, which is the main cause of death after burn injury. Compared with traditional saline-wet-to-dry dressings, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) is more effective for the prevention and treatment of wound infections. However, the mechanism by which NPWT controls infection and accelerates wound healing remains unclear. Accordingly, in this study, the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of NPWT were explored using a murine model of P. aeruginosa -infected burn wounds. NPWT significantly reduced P. aeruginosa levels in wounds, enhanced blood flow, and promoted wound healing. Additionally, NPWT markedly alleviated wound inflammation and increased the expression of wound healing-related molecules. Recent evidence points to a role of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in wound healing; hence, whole-transcriptome sequencing of wound tissues from NPWT and control groups was performed to evaluate circRNA expression profiles. In total, 12 up-regulated and 25 down-regulated circRNAs were identified between groups. Among these, five significant differentially expressed circRNAs acting as microRNA sponges were identified, and their predicted targets were verified by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction. These results further support the roles of circRNAs in wound healing by NPWT and the prevention of P. aeruginosa infection, providing key molecular targets for further functional analyses.

Gynostemma microspermum C. Y. Wu et S. K. Chen is an endemic creeping herbaceous species mainly distributed in dense forests on limestone in northwestern China. Here, the complete chloroplast genome sequence of G. microspermum was obtained by Illumina pair-end sequencing. The circular complete chloroplast genome of G. microspermum is 158,692 bp in length and contains a large single copy region (87,452 bp), a small single copy region (19,068 bp) and two short inverted repeat regions (26,086 bp). The genome sequence encodes 133 genes including 87 protein-coding genes, 37 transfer RNA genes, 8 ribosomal RNA genes and 1 pseudogene. Pseudognaphalium affine (D.Don) Anderb. is an annual herbaceous plant used as a vegetable and traditional medicine. Here, we sequenced and assembled the complete chloroplast genome of P. affine . The plastome is 151,573 bp in size with a pair of inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 24,849 bp each, a large single-copy region (LSC) of 83,632 bp, and a small single-copy region (SSC) of 18,243 bp. The overall GC content of the whole plastome is 37.33%, and the IR regions are more GC rich (43.08%) than the LSC (35.30%) and SSC (31.03%) regions. It contains 129 genes, including 83 protein-coding genes, 36 tRNAs, eight rRNAs, and two pseudogenes. Phylogenetic analysis showed that P. affine is most closely related to Leontopodium leiolepis . Debregeasia hekouensis, which belongs to the nettle family (Urticaceae), is a local endemic species in Hekou County, Yunnan Province, China. To provide a basis for the development of effective molecular markers for its conservation, we sequenced the chloroplast (cp) genome of D. hekouensis in the present study. The total length of the chloroplast(cp) genome was 155,941 bp, and exhibited a typical quadripartite structure, with a pair of IRs (inverted repeats; 25,664 bp in length) being separated by a small single copy (SSC) region of 19,085 bp and a large single copy (LSC) region of 85,528 bp. The cp genome contained a total of 112 genes, including 78 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. The GC content of the entire cp genome, LSC region, SSC region, and IR region was 36.3%, 34.0%, 29.4%, and 42.7%, respectively. Paeonia rockii subsp. taibaishanica (Paeoniaceae), one of the tree peony species, is endemic to the Qinling Mountains in central China. Agrostis capillaris is a cool-season turf grass species that is found worldwide in temperate countries, and a good Pb phytostabilizer. In this study, the entire chloroplast genome sequence of A. capillaris was determined by Illumina sequencing. The complete chloroplast genome was circular and composed of 136,396 bp nucleotides with a GC content of about 38.5%. There were a large single-copy region (LSC, 81,659bp), a small single-copy region (SSC, 12,593bp), and a pair of reverse repeat regions (IRs, 42,144bp) in the chloroplast genome. In total, the A. capillaris chloroplast genome contained 144 genes, including 96 protein-coding genes, 40 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that A. capillaris was closely related to A. gigantean . Securigera varia is an important leguminous forage grass species that is mainly distributed in arid and semi-arid land with water scarcity, and has outstanding drought resistance. In this study, Illumina sequencing was used to obtain the complete sequence of the S. varia chloroplast genome. The complete genome was 154,257 bp in length with 35.9% GC content. It was a circular genome containing a large single-copy region (LSC, 84,762 bp), a small single-copy region (SSC, 18,059 bp), and a pair of inverted repeat regions (IRs, 51,436 bp). A total of 128 genes were encoded, including 83 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNAs, and 8 rRNAs. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that S. varia was closely related to Robinia pseudoacacia . Non-coding RNAs occupy a significant fraction of the human genome. Their biological significance is backed up by a plethora of emerging evidence. One of the most robust approaches to demonstrate non-coding RNA's biological relevance is through their prognostic value. Using the rich gene expression data from The Cancer Genome Altas (TCGA), we designed Advanced Expression Survival Analysis (AESA), a web tool which provides several novel survival analysis approaches not offered by previous tools. In addition to the common single-gene approach, AESA computes the gene expression composite score of a set of genes for survival analysis and utilizes permutation test or cross-validation to assess the significance of log-rank statistic and the degree of over-fitting. AESA offers survival feature selection with post-selection inference and utilizes expanded TCGA clinical data including overall, disease-specific, disease-free, and progression-free survival information. Users can analyse either protein-coding or non-coding regions of the transcriptome. We demonstrated the effectiveness of AESA using several empirical examples. The transcription factor MYB15 plays an important role in grape basal immunity, and its promoter can be used as a potential target in resistance breeding. However, the regulatory mechanisms of cis -elements in its promoter region under a variety of stresses remain unclear. In this study, we identified some putative cis -regulatory elements present upstream of MYB15 in Vitis quinquangularis Shanyang ( pVqMYB15 &#95;SY) and subsequently characterized the function of these elements using reporter assays. Our results showed that TCA-elements 1 and 2, ABRE, MYC and 3-AF1 binding site 1 are key cis -regulatory elements in pVqMYB15 &#95;SY and play important roles in plant bio/abiotic stress resistance.

Picea is a phylogenetically complicate genus with great economic and ecological values. Here, we determined the whole complete chloroplast genome of Picea schrenkiana to provide genomic information for phylogenetic analysis of the genus. The plastome of P. schrenkiana is 124,060 bp in size and contains 114 genes, including 74 protein-coding genes, 36 tRNA genes, and four rRNA genes. The overall GC content is 38.7%. Limonium aureum is a perennial herb of Plumbaginaceae, and draw the attention of researchers by its medicinal and ecological value. In this study, we first report the complete chloroplast genome of L. aureum with paired-end sequencing method. The results showed that the complete chloroplast genome of L. aureum is 154,661 bp in length with a typical quadripartite structure, including a large single-copy region (LSC, 84,545 bp), a single-copy region (SSC, 12, 980 bp), and a pair of inverted repeats (IRs, 28,568 bp). There are 113 annotated genes, consisting of 79 unique protein-coding genes, 4 unique ribosomal RNA genes, and 30 transfer RNA genes. Shikonin, a botanical drug extracted from Lithospermum erythrorhizon, exhibits anti-cancer effects in various cancer cell lines. However, the mechanisms underlying these effects have not been completely elucidated yet. Here, we showed that Shikonin induces apoptosis and autophagy in A375 cells and inhibits their proliferation. Shikonin caused G2/M phase arrest through upregulation of p21 and downregulation of cyclin B1. Shikonin significantly triggered ER stress-mediated apoptosis by upregulating the expression of p-eIF2α, CHOP, and cleaved caspase-3. It also induced protective autophagy by activating the p38 pathway, followed by an increase in the levels of p-p38, LC3B-II, and Beclin 1. Upon suppression of autophagy by 3-methyladenine, Shikonin-induced apoptosis was enhanced in A375 cells. Moreover, after pretreatment with N-acetyl-cysteine, Shikonin increased the production of reactive oxygen species that are involved in regulating ER stress-mediated apoptosis and p38-activated autophagy, as evidenced by the reversion of cell viability and apoptosis and a decrease in p-eIF2α, CHOP, p-p38, LC3B-II, and Beclin 1 levels. Thus, we demonstrated that Shikonin induced apoptosis and autophagy in A375 cells via the activation of ROS-mediated ER stress and p38 pathways, indicating that Shikonin can serve as a potential agent for human melanoma therapy.

Alantolactone (Ala), a major sesquiterpene lactone extracted from Inula helenium , exerts potent anti-tumour activities in various cancers. However, the underlying mechanism of such activities is still ambiguous. This study focused on evaluating the anti-tumour effects and molecular mechanisms of Ala on HepG2 cells. Our results demonstrated that Ala might inhibit cellular proliferation, induce G2/M phase arrest and apoptosis in HepG2 cells. Specifically, this study confirmed that Ala induced G2/M phase arrest by upregulating p21, downregulating cyclin A1 and cyclin B1, and promoting cellular apoptosis by increasing the expression of cleaved caspase-3 and PARP. Furthermore, Ala caused an increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) level and inhibition of ROS production significantly prevented Ala-induced apoptosis. Interestingly, the accumulation of ROS, in turn, suppressed the downstream AKT signalling. Finally, mitophagy of Ala-treated HepG2 cells was observed by Mito/Lyso staining. Mitophagy was significantly inhibited by downregulation of the expression of PINK1 and Parkin proteins. The inhibition of mitophagy by a mitophagy inhibitor was found to markedly enhance Ala-mediated apoptosis and growth inhibition in HepG2 cells. Consequently, Ala induced cellular apoptosis via ROS-mediated suppression of AKT signalling and inhibition of PINK1-mediated mitophagy. Thus, Ala has potential to be used for the treatment of liver cancer.

Ranunculaceae, with high morphological biodiversity and widely ecological amplitude tolerance, has been considered as a new good model for adaptive evolution study. In this study, two high-quality chloroplast genomes of Ranunculaceae were determined by next-generation sequencing technologies. The plastomes of Trollius farreri and Anemone taipaiensis exhibit a conserved quadripartite structure, with 160,612 bp and 160,214 bp in length, presenting similar GC contents (38% and 37.6%). The Orchidaceae contains numerous species with great ecological and economic values. In this study, the complete chloroplast genome of Liparis japonica was presented by next-generation sequencing technologies. The cpDNA is 152,084 bp in length with a large single copy region (LSC) of 85,398 bp, a small single copy region (SSC) of 14,774 bp, and a pair of inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 25,956 bp. It contains 132 genes, including 79 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes, 8 rRNA genes, and 7 pseudogenes. The overall GC content is 37.0%, while the corresponding values in the LSC, SSC, and IR region are 34.3, 30.0, 43.5%, respectively. The phylogenetic analysis shows that Liparis japonica is sister to Liparis loeselii and the genus Liparis is closely related to Dendrobium ., Competing Interests: No potential conflict of interest was reported by the authors., (© 2019 The Author(s).
