In this chapter, the framework of capacity optimization proposed in the last chapter is extended to multimedia cellular networks; and two main aspects of cellular networks are analyzed. One of the said aspects is the user mobility; while the second aspect is the soft capacity of cells in DS-CDMA based cellular networks, that needs to be taken into account for QoS evaluation and capacity requirements estimation.

The Philips compact cassette has dominated the consumer tape recording market for at least a quarter century. The basic track format is shown at Figure 163A. Because the tape travels in both directions, there is a generous guard band between the two sets of tracks to minimize crosstalk from the adjacent program.
