Stroke has caused tremendous social stress worldwide, yet despite decades of research and development of new stroke drugs, most have failed and rt-PA (Recombinant tissue plasminogen activator) is still the accepted treatment for ischemic stroke. the complexity of the stroke mechanism has led to unsatisfactory efficacy of most drugs in clinical trials, indicating that there are still many gaps in our understanding of stroke. Pyroptosis is a programmed cell death (PCD) with inflammatory properties and are thought to be closely associated with stroke. Pyroptosis is regulated by the GSDMD of the gasdermin family, which when cleaved by Caspase-1/Caspase-11 into N-GSDMD with pore-forming activity can bind to the plasma membrane to form small 10–20 nm pores, which would allow the release of inflammatory factors IL-18 and IL-1β before cell rupture, greatly exacerbating the inflammatory response. The pyroptosis occurs mainly in the border zone of cerebral infarction, and glial cells, neuronal cells and brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMECs) all undergo pyroptosis after stroke, which largely exacerbates the breakdown of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and thus aggravates brain injury. Therefore, pyroptosis may be a good direction for the treatment of stroke. In this review, we focus on the latest mechanisms of action of pyroptosis and the process by which pyroptosis regulates stroke development. We also suggest potential therapeutic stroke drugs that target the pyroptosis pathway, providing additional therapeutic strategies for the clinical management of stroke.

Lychee is an exotic tropical fruit with a distinct flavor. The genome of cultivar ‘Feizixiao’ was assembled into 15 pseudochromosomes, totaling ~470 Mb. High heterozygosity (2.27%) resulted in two complete haplotypic assemblies. A total of 13,517 allelic genes (42.4%) were differentially expressed in diverse tissues. Analyses of 72 resequenced lychee accessions revealed two independent domestication events. The extremely early maturing cultivars preferentially aligned to one haplotype were domesticated from a wild population in Yunnan, whereas the late-maturing cultivars that mapped mostly to the second haplotype were domesticated independently from a wild population in Hainan. Early maturing cultivars were probably developed in Guangdong via hybridization between extremely early maturing cultivar and late-maturing cultivar individuals. Variable deletions of a 3.7 kb region encompassed by a pair of CONSTANS-like genes probably regulate fruit maturation differences among lychee cultivars. These genomic resources provide insights into the natural history of lychee domestication and will accelerate the improvement of lychee and related crops., Two divergent haplotypes from a highly heterozygous lychee genome of the cultivar ‘Feizixiao’ and resequencing of 72 lychee accessions provide insights into the genome evolution and domestication history of lychee.

Hyperactivation of RAS/MAPK signaling is commonly observed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Gain-of-function mutations of canonical RAS genes, however, are rarely detected and it remains unclear how the activity of this pathway is turned on during hepatocarcinogenesis. We performed a comprehensive analysis of RAS superfamily genetic alterations across ten subfamilies, 152 members in 377 HCC patients from the Cancer Genome Atlas database. RIT1 (Ras-like without CAAX 1) was the most frequently altered RAS member amplified in 13% of the HCC cohort. Both genomic amplification and CREB-mediated transcriptional activation contributed to the elevated RIT1 expression, and its overexpression correlated with RAS/MAPK activation and poor prognosis. Then, we found that RIT1-induced angiogenesis via the MEK/ERK/EIF4E/HIF1-α/VEGFA axis. MAP3K11 and MAP3K12, in addition to CRAF, could mediate this process by binding to RIT1. Moreover, RIT1 increased the phosphorylation of p38 MAPK and AKT to promote cell survival under reactive oxygen species stress. Based on this mechanistic understanding, we treated RIT1-overexpressing HCC with combined regimen sorafenib plus AKT inhibitor, and achieved enhanced antitumor effects in vivo. Our study reveals RAS "orphan" member RIT1 as the most common genetic alteration of RAS family in HCC and combination of sorafenib with AKT inhibitor might be a promising treatment strategy for RIT1-overexpressing HCC.

The effect of different leaf traits on their particulate matter (PM) retention capacity and the dynamics of the PM resuspension after disturbance by rain and wind were examined for eight common plant species in North China. The PM retention quantity and grain-size distributions were evaluated before and after rain and wind disturbance. PM retention quantities and stability differed significantly among the different species. Euonymus japonicus displayed the highest PM retention, while Yulania biondii displayed the lowest PM retention. Leaf size had a greater effect on PM retention than the presence of rough microstructures such as hair and grooves. Small leaves are more conducive to PM retention than large leaves. Leaf hair is a more effective structure for PM retention than grooves. While rain and wind can remove PM of all sizes, PM>100 μm is most easily removed. No correlation was found between leaf size, microscopic leaf structure, and the reduction percentage of different PM sizes. This study provides valuable information regarding the relationships between different leaf traits and PM retention capacity and retention stability, which will be useful for when selecting plants for air pollution mitigation.

Background Pulsatilla decoction (Bai-Tou-Weng-Tang, BTWT) is a classic formula prescription of a traditional Chinese medicine that is used to treat ulcerative colitis (UC). However, its active components and underlying mechanism of action remain unclear. In the present study, we aimed to identify potential immunomodulators from BTWT that act at therapeutic targets for UC. Methods The protective effects of BTWT granules were examined in mice with colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium. The absorbed components of BTWT were identified using LC-MS, and selected protein targets of these components in UC were investigated using molecular docking. Results Oral administration of BTWT granules significantly alleviated disease severity and colon shortening, and inhibited the inflammatory response in mice with chronic colitis. In these mice, 11 compounds from the BTWT granules were detected in the serum and/or colon. The molecular docking study demonstrated that compounds from Radix pulsatillae, such as anemoside A3, interacted with STAT3 and S1PR1; compounds from Rhizoma coptidis and/or Cortex phellodendri, such as palmatine, interacted with JAK3, PD-1, and PD-L1; and components of Cortex fraxini such as aesculin interacted with S1PR1, JAK3, STAT3 and PD-L1. Further in-vitro experiments showing that the compounds inhibited TNF-α and IL-6 production and STAT3 activation in RAW 264.7 cells suggested that these compounds have immunomodulatory activities. Conclusion We revealed for the first time that 11 absorbed ingredients from BTWT were immunomodulators against therapeutic targets for UC. These findings suggest that the identified compounds are the active components of BTWT, and the identified protein targets underlie the mechanism of action of BTWT against UC.

Background Tumor cells exhibited phenotypic and molecular characteristics similar to their lineage progenitor cells. Liver developmental signaling pathways are showed to be associated with HCC development and oncogenesis. The similarities of expression profiling between liver progenitors (LPs) and HCC suggest that understanding the molecular mechanism during liver development could provide insights into HCC. Methods To profile the dynamic gene expression during liver development, cells from an in vitro liver differentiation model and two paired hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) samples were analyzed using deep RNA sequencing. The expression levels of selected genes were analyzed by qRT-PCR. Moreover, the role of a key transcription factor, pituitary homeobox 2 (PITX2), was characterized via in vitro and vivo functional assays. Furthermore, molecular mechanism studies were performed to unveil how PITX2C regulate the key developmental factors in LPs, thereby increasing the stemness of HCC. Results PITX2 was found to exhibit a similar expression pattern to specific markers of LPs. PITX2 consists of three isoforms (PITX2A/B/C). The expression of PITX2 is associated with tumor size and overall survival rate, whereas only PITX2C expression is associated with AFP and differentiation in clinical patients. PITX2A/B/C has distinct functions in HCC tumorigenicity. PITX2C promotes HCC metastasis, self-renewal and chemoresistance. Molecular mechanism studies showed that PITX2C could up-regulate RALYL which could enhance HCC stemness via the TGF-β pathway. Furthermore, ChIP assays confirmed the role of PITX2C in regulating key developmental factors in LP. Conclusion PITX2C is a newly discovered transcription factor involved in hepatic differentiation and could increase HCC stemness by upregulating key transcriptional factors related to liver development.

Plant leaves can accumulate particulate matter (PM) from the air, thus mitigating air pollution. Nine plant species from the central part of Shanxi Province, China, were investigated to characterize differences in their PM retention capacity and the grain sizes of the collected PM. Styphnolobium japonicum, Syringa oblata, and Cerasus serrulata demonstrated strong retention capacity for PM particles of diverse size fractions. Philadelphus incanus, Viburnum opulus, and Yulania biondii had relatively weak retention capacity for overall and fine PM. Generally, species with smaller leaves and roughness surfaces, waxy leaves, or leaves with hair had strong PM retention capacity. Leaves with suitable groove widths better retained fine PM. Foliar dust observed on leaves presented multimodal distribution curves, including bimodal, trimodal, and four-peak distributions, which differed from the trimodal distribution of natural dustfall. The different PM retention capacities of the nine investigated species and the differing grain sizes between foliar dust and atmospheric dustfall indicated that plant leaves could selectively retain PM. The results of this study provide a scientific basis for the use of the plant to mitigate particulate air pollution.

Poorly differentiated tumors usually exhibit phenotypes similar to that of their developmental precursor cells. Tumor cells that acquire the lineage progenitor cells feature usually exploit developmental signaling to potentiate cancer progression. However, the underlying molecular events remain elusive. In this study, based on analysis of an in vitro hepatocyte differentiation model, the maternal factor PGC7 (also known as DPPA3, STELLA) was found closely associated with liver development and tumor differentiation in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Expression of PGC7 decreased during hepatocyte maturation and increased progressively from well-differentiated HCCs to poorly differentiated HCCs. Whole-genome methylation sequencing found that PGC7 could induce promoter demethylation of genes related to development. Pathway-based network analysis indicated that downstream targets of PGC7 might form networks associated with developmental transcription factor activation. Overexpression of PGC7 conferred progenitor-like features of HCC cells both in vitro and in vivo. Mechanism studies revealed that PGC7 could impede nuclear translocation of UHRF1, and thus facilitate promoter demethylation of GLI1 and MYCN, both of which are important regulators of HCC self-renewal and differentiation. Depletion or inhibition of GLI1 effectively downregulated MYCN, abolished the effect of PGC7, and sensitized HCC cells to sorafenib treatment. In addition, we found a significant correlation of PGC7 with GLI1/MYCN and lineage differentiation markers in clinical HCC patients. PGC7 expression might drive HCC toward a “dedifferentiated” progenitor lineage through facilitating promoter demethylation of key developmental transcription factors; further inhibition of PGC7/GLI1/MYCN might reverse poorly differentiated HCCs and provide novel therapeutic strategies.

The purpose of this study was to develop a simple and effective percutaneous approach to create tricuspid regurgitation in swine. Eleven pigs (71.68 ± 7.70 kg, 3 male) were involved in this study. A grasping forceps was introduced into the right ventricle through a steerable sheath under fluoroscopic guidance and used to disrupt the tricuspid valve apparatus by avulsing leaflet or chordae tendineae repeatedly. Transthoracic echocardiography and right ventricular angiography were used to evaluate the degree of tricuspid regurgitation created. Ten of the 11 pigs (90.91%) achieved severe tricuspid regurgitation and 1 (9.09%) obtained moderate tricuspid regurgitation immediately after the procedure. Heart rate of the pigs significantly increased immediately after tricuspid regurgitation creation compared to baseline (88.64 ± 23.24 vs. 76.00 ± 15.30 bpm, P = 0.02), but recovered to normal level at one month follow-up (77.09 ± 11.97 bpm, P = 0.85). The right atrium, tricuspid valve annulus, and right ventricle dilated obviously one month after tricuspid regurgitation creation (dimension changes: 3.01 ± 0.35 vs. 3.56 ± 0.40 cm, P = 0.02; 2.92 ± 0.36 vs. 3.37 ± 0.39 cm, P = 0.01; 3.06 ± 0.42 vs. 3.60 ± 0.47 cm, P = 0.03 respectively). Autopsy findings showed that rupture of leaflet and/or chordae tendineae finally led to the tricuspid regurgitation. Severe tricuspid regurgitation can be created by a simple and effective percutaneous approach with a grasping forceps in swine model and right heart dilation can be observed consistently at one-month follow-up. This model will be valuable in pre-clinical studies for developing new tricuspid valve repair or replacement technique to treat severe tricuspid regurgitation.

Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is strongly associated with the initiation and development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the genetic alterations and pathogenesis mechanisms remain significantly unexplored, especially for HBV-induced metabolic reprogramming. Analysis of integration breakpoints in HBV-positive HCC samples revealed the preferential clustering pattern within the 3′-end of X gene in the HBV genome, leading to the production of C-terminal truncated X protein (Ct-HBx). In this study, we not only characterized the oncogenic role of two Ct-HBx (HBx-120 and HBx-134) via in vitro and in vivo functional assays but also deciphered their underlying molecular mechanisms. Gene expression profiling by transcriptome sequencing identified potential targets of Ct-HBx and novel malignant hallmarks such as glycolysis, cell cycle, and m-TORC1 signaling in Ct-HBx-expressing cells. TXNIP, a well-established regulator of glucose metabolism, was shown to be downregulated by Ct-HBx and play a pivotal role in Ct-HBx-mediated HCC progression. Suppression of TXNIP is frequently observed in HCC patients with Ct-HBx expression and significantly (P = 0.015) correlated to a poorer prognosis. Re-introduction of TXNIP attenuated the metabolic reprogramming induced by the Ct-HBx and inhibited the tumor growth in the mice model. Further study suggested that Ct-HBx could downregulate TXNIP via a transcriptional repressor nuclear factor of activated T cells 2 (NFACT2). Collectively, our findings indicate that TXNIP plays a critical role in Ct-HBx-mediated hepatocarcinogenesis, serving as a novel therapeutic strategy in HCC treatment.

Esophageal squamous cells carcinoma (ESCC) is a major common thoracic tumor characterized by distinctly high incidences and mortality rates. Despite advances in multimodality therapy, the mortality rate of ESCC remains high and understanding of molecular alterations leading to the development and progression of ESCC is still very limited. In this study, a new tumor suppressor candidate, cell adhesion molecule with homology to L1CAM (CHL1), located at 3p26 which was frequently deleted in ESCC was identified. Reduced expression of CHL1 correlated with poor differentiation, increased invasion, and lymph-node metastasis, advanced tumor stage, and decreased overall survival. Methylation-specific PCR and FISH assays revealed that down-regulation of CHL1 in both ESCC cell lines and clinical samples were associated with promoter hypermethylation and loss of heterozygosity. Functional studies using lentiviral-based overexpression and knockdown systems provided direct support of CHL1 to function as an important tumor suppressor with both anti-proliferation and anti-metastasis abilities, through Merlin and SEMA3B-Np1-mediated inhibition of AKT signaling pathway. Further characterization of CHL1 may provide a novel therapeutic target in ESCC treatment.

There exists a consensus that combining hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) and chemotherapy promotes chemotherapy sensitivity in GBM cells. However, few studies have explored the mechanism involved. HIF1α and HIF2α are the two main molecules that contribute to GBM malignant progression by inhibiting apoptosis or maintaining stemness under hypoxic conditions. Moreover, Sox2, a marker of stemness, also contributes to GBM malignant progression through stemness maintenance or cell cycle arrest. Briefly, HIF1α, HIF2α and Sox2 are highly expressed under hypoxia and contribute to GBM growth and chemoresistance. However, after exposure to HBO for GBM, whether the expression of the above factors is decreased, resulting in chemosensitization, remains unknown. Therefore, we performed a series of studies and determined that the expression of HIF1α, HIF2α and Sox2 was decreased after HBO and that HBO promoted GBM cell proliferation through cell cycle progression, albeit with a decrease in stemness, thus contributing to chemosensitization via the inhibition of HIF1α/HIF2α-Sox2.

Growing evidences suggest that cancer stem cells exhibit many molecular characteristics and phenotypes similar to their ancestral progenitor cells. In the present study, human embryonic stem cells are induced to differentiate into hepatocytes along hepatic lineages to mimic liver development in vitro. A liver progenitor specific gene, RALY RNA binding protein like (RALYL), is identified. RALYL expression is associated with poor prognosis, poor differentiation, and metastasis in clinical HCC patients. Functional studies reveal that RALYL could promote HCC tumorigenicity, self-renewal, chemoresistance, and metastasis. Moreover, molecular mechanism studies show that RALYL could upregulate TGF-β2 mRNA stability by decreasing N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification. TGF-β signaling and the subsequent PI3K/AKT and STAT3 pathways, upregulated by RALYL, contribute to the enhancement of HCC stemness. Collectively, RALYL is a liver progenitor specific gene and regulates HCC stemness by sustaining TGF-β2 mRNA stability. These findings may inspire precise therapeutic strategies for HCC., RALYL is a liver progenitor cell-specific gene but its role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains unknown. Here, the authors demonstrate that RALYL regulates HCC stemness through upregulation of TGF-β2 mRNA stability by decreasing N6-methyladenosine modification.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common human malignancies worldwide with very poor prognosis. Resistance to targeted therapeutic drugs such as sorafenib remains one of the major challenges in clinical treatment. In the present study, PARP1 was found to be highly expressed in human embryonic stem cells, but progressively decreased upon specified hepatic differentiation. Reactivation of PARP1 expression was also detected in HCC residual tumors after sorafenib treatment in xenograft mouse model, indicating the potential important roles of PARP1 in stem cell pluripotency and HCC sorafenib treatment resistance. Overexpression of PARP1 was frequently observed in HCC patients, and closely associated with poor clinical outcome. Treatment of Sorafenib induced activation of DNA damage repair signaling, which is highly active and essential for maintenance of stem cell pluripotency in HCC residual tumors. PARP inhibitor Olaparib extensively suppressed the DNA damage repair signaling, and significantly inhibited the global pluripotent transcriptional network. The repression of key pluripotent transcriptional factors and DNA damage repair signaling by Olaparib was mainly through CHD1L-mediated condensation of the chromatin structure at their promotor regions. The global reshaping of the pluripotent transcriptome by Olaparib might reinforce Sorafenib in eliminating HCC residual tumors and enhance therapeutic efficiency. Background ‘Regal Splendour’ (Hosta variety) is famous for its multi-color leaves, which are useful resources for exploring chloroplast development and color changes. The expressions of chlorophyll biosynthesis-related genes (HrHEMA, HrPOR and HrCAO) in Hosta have been demonstrated to be associated with leaf color. Herein, we isolated, sequenced, and analyzed HrHEMA, HrPOR and HrCAO genes. Subcellular localization was also performed to determine the location of the corresponding enzymes. After plasmid construction, virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) was carried out to reduce the expressions of those genes. In addition, HrHEMA-, HrPOR- and HrCAO-overexpressing tobacco plants were made to verify the genes function. Changes of transgenic tobacco were recorded under 2000 lx, 6000 lx and 10,000 lx light intensity. Additionally, the contents of enzyme 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), porphobilinogen (PBG), chlorophyll a and b (Chla and Chlb), carotenoid (Cxc), superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), malondialdehyde (MDA), proline (Pro) and catalase (CAT) under different light intensities were evaluated. Results The silencing of HrHEMA, HrPOR and HrCAO genes can induce leaf yellowing and chloroplast structure changes in Hosta. Specifically, leaves of Hosta with HrCAO silencing were the most affected, while those with HrPOR silencing were the least affected. Moreover, all three genes in tobacco were highly expressed, whereas no expression was detected in wild-type (WT). However, the sensitivities of the three genes to different light intensities were different. The highest expression level of HrHEMA and HrPOR was detected under 10,000 lx of illumination, while HrCAO showed the highest expression level under 6000 lx. Lastly, the 5-ALA, Chla, Cxc, SOD, POD, MDA, Pro and CAT contents in different transgenic tobaccos changed significantly under different light intensities. Conclusion The overexpression of these three genes in tobacco enhanced photosynthesis by accumulating chlorophyll content, but the influential level varied under different light intensities. Furthermore, HrHEMA-, HrPOR- and HrCAO- overexpressing in tobacco can enhance the antioxidant capacity of plants to cope with stress under higher light intensity. However, under lower light intensity, the antioxidant capacity was declined in HrHEMA-, HrPOR- and HrCAO- overexpressing tobaccos.

Neuroinflammation, which ultimately leads to neuronal loss, is considered to play a crucial role in numerous neurodegenerative diseases. The neuroinflammatory process is characterized by the activation of glial cells such as microglia. Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress is commonly associated with impairments in neuronal function and cognition, but its relationship and role in neurodegeneration is still controversial. Recently, it was confirmed that nonharmful levels of ER stress protected against experimental Parkinson's disease. Here, we investigated mild ER stress-based regulation of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-driven neuroinflammation in rats and in primary microglia.Male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats received the intracerebroventricular injection of the ER stress activator tunicamycin (TM) with or without intraperitoneal injection of the ER stress stabilizer sodium 4-phenylbutyrate (4-PBA) 1 h before LPS administration. The levels of neuroinflammation and memory dysfunction were assessed 24 h after treatment. In addition, the effect of mild ER stress on microglia was determined in vitro.Here, we found that low doses of TM led to mild ER stress without cell or organism lethality. We showed that mild ER stress preconditioning reduced microglia activation and neuronal death as well as improved LPS-induced memory impairment in rats. In addition, pre-exposure to nonlethal doses of TM in microglia showed significant protection against LPS-induced proinflammatory cytokine production and M1/2b polarization. However, sodium 4-PBA, a compound that ameliorates ER stress, ablated this protective effect in vivo and in vitro.Based on our findings, we conclude that the mild ER stress not only limits the accumulation of misfolded proteins but also protects tissues from harmful endotoxemia insults. Therefore, ER stress preconditioning has potential therapeutic value for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

A hydroxyl-functionalized homochiral porous organic cage (POC) was synthesized and characterized by FTIR, NMR, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), MALDI-TOF-MS, and elemental analysis. The synthesized homochiral POC was used as stationary phase to prepare a capillary gas chromatography (GC) column by a static coating method. The fabricated column shows excellent selectivity not only for the separation of positional isomers but also for the resolution of various racemates. Thirty-nine racemates have been resolved on the column, including alcohols, diols, halohydrocarbons, epoxides, esters, lactones, ketones, ethers, and organic acids. Compared to the commercial β-DEX 120 column and previously reported chiral POCs (CC3-R, CC9, and CC10)-coated columns, there are 11, 10, 24, and 15 tested racemates that cannot be resolved on β-DEX 120 column, CC3-R column, CC9 column, and CC10 column, respectively. This reveals that the fabricated column has prominent complementarity or superior separation performance to these columns in enantioseparation. Besides, the fabricated column can achieve some enantioseparations which are not possible using all previously reported chiral POC-based columns. Some positional isomers (xylenes, dichlorobenzenes, dibromobenzenes, nitrochlorobenzenes, and nitrobromobenzenes) were also separated with high-resolution values. The column exhibits good repeatability, reproducibility, and stability. The relative standard deviation (RSD) values of retention times were 0.03-0.18%, 0.11-0.92%, and 2.1-6.6% for run-to-run (n = 5), day-to-day (n = 5), and column-to-column (n = 3), respectively. The experimental results demonstrate the great potential of POCs for practical application in GC. Graphical Abstract A hydroxyl-functionalized homochiral porous organic cage was used as stationary phase for gas chromatography separation of racemates and positional isomers. The resolution of racemates mainly depended on hydrogen bonding, π-interaction, host-guest inclusion, steric fit, etc., while separation of positional isomers by shape-selective guest binding.

In order to further optimize welding process of Nb–Ti–Mo microalloyed steel, welding thermal cycles on coarse-grained heat-affected zone (CGHAZ) of welded joints were simulated using Gleeble 1500. The microstructure and low-temperature impact fracture were investigated using a scanning electron microscope and a pendulum impact machine, respectively. Moreover, the relationship between cooling time t8/5 and the microstructure of CGHAZ was discussed, and the effect of microstructure on impact toughness was also studied. As cooling time increased, martensite fraction decreased from 97.8% (3 s) to 3.0% (60 s). The fraction of martensite/austenite (M/A) constituent increased from 2.2% (3 s) to 39.0% (60 s), its shape changed from granular to strip, and the maximum length increased from 2.4 μm (3 s) to 7.0 μm (60 s). As cooling time increased, the prior austenite grain size increased from 34.0 μm (3 s) to 49.0 μm (60 s), the impact absorption energy reduced from 101.8 J (5 s) to 7.2 J (60 s), and the fracture mechanism changed from quasi-cleavage fracture to cleavage fracture. The decreased toughness of CGHAZ was due to the reduction of lath martensite-content, coarsening of original austenite grain, and increase and coarsening of M/A constituent. The heat input was controlled under 7 kJ cm−1 during actual welding for these steels.

In this paper, we introduce a modified viscosity implicit rules of one asymptotically nonexpansive mapping in Hilbert spaces. Some strong convergence theorems are given under certain assumptions imposed on the parameters. As an application, we apply our main results to solve finite variational inequality problems in Hilbert spaces. A numerical example is also given to support our main results.

The smart grid is emerging as an efficient paradigm for electric power generation, transmission, and consumption, based on optimized decision making and control that leverage the measurement data of sensors and meters in the grid. False data injection is a new type of power grid attacks aiming to tamper such important data. For the security and robustness of the grid, it is critical to separate the false data injected by such attacks and recover the original measurement data. Nonetheless, the existing approaches often neglect the true changes on original measurement data that are caused by the real perturbations on grid states and hence have a risk of removing these true changes as injected false data during the data recovery. In this paper, we preserve these true changes by modeling the false data problem as a rank-bounded $$L_1$$ norm optimization and propose both offline and online algorithms to filter out the injected false data and recover original measurement data. Trace-driven simulations verify the efficacy of our solution.
