In precision marketing for online communities, the existing text-based methods of user positioning cannot position new users rapidly, and they have low positioning efficiency when there is a large number of users. This research proposes a systematic method for the positioning of online community users. In this method, text mining and clustering algorithms are combined to cluster users, and then the user clusters are effectively matched with users' basic attributes through a multinomial logistic regression model. By this means, efficient positioning under the circumstances of a rapid increase in new users and a large number of users can be achieved. Calculation results from a real world example show that this method can effectively solve the problems found in traditional user positioning methods and provides a productive new approach to community user positioning. The study also offers suggestions for user classification management from the perspective of precision marketing.

Energy homeostasis, which refers to the physiological processes that the energy intake is exquisitely coordinated with energy expenditure, is critical for survival. Therefore, multiple and complex mechanisms have been involved in the regulation of energy homeostasis. The central melanocortin system plays an important role in modulating energy homeostasis. This system includes the orexigenic neurons, expressing neuropeptide Y/Agouti-related protein (NPY/AgRP), and the anorexigenic neurons expressing proopiomelanocortin (POMC). The downstream receptors of NPY, AgRP and post-translational products of POMC are G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). This review summarizes the compelling evidence demonstrating that NPY and melanocortin receptors are involved in energy homeostasis. Subsequently, the comparative studies on physiology and pharmacology of NPY and melanocortin receptors in humans, rodents and teleosts are summarized. Also, we provide a strategy demonstrating the potential application of the new ligands and/or specific variants of melanocortin system in aquaculture.

Triphasic dynamic enhanced computed tomography (CT) scans were acquired to identify cholesterol and adenomatous gallbladder (GB) polyps that were inaccurately diagnosed before surgery. To evaluate the CT findings of 1.0- to 2.0-cm GB polyps for differentiating between cholesterol and adenomatous polyps. Fifty-two patients with GB polyps were treated surgically from December 2017 to July 2020 and were retrospectively divided into 2 groups according to the postoperative pathologic results: a cholesterol group with 30 patients and an adenomatous group with 22 patients. Unenhanced and triphasic dynamic enhanced CT scans were performed for all the patients within 2 weeks before surgery. The CT image parameters were measured and analyzed by 2 senior radiologists blinded to the pathological diagnoses. Of the 22 patients in the adenomatous group, 77.3% were female and 22.7% were male, with a mean age of 53.5 years; among the 30 patients in the cholesterol group, 66.7% were female and 33.3% were male, with a median age of 50.1 years. The CT image parameters of all 52 patients with GB polyps were analyzed. Photothermal therapy (PTT) is providing new opportunities for killing cancer cells. In this work, we introduce a new nanomedicine based on spherical MoS2 nanoparticles for PTT treatment of tumors, prepared using “green” bottom-up technology. To increase water solubility and avoid rapid clearance by the reticuloendothelial system, polyethylene glycol (PEG) was used to coat them. These MoS2-PEG nanospheres with an appropriate size (∼100 nm) exhibit high photothermal conversion efficiency (26.7%). In vitro cellular studies revealed that the MoS2-PEG nanospheres showed negligible cytotoxicity. Additionally, through combining the MoS2-PEG nanosphere samples with NIR irradiation at 808 nm, excellent in vitro tumor cell killing efficacy was achieved. In the 4T1 tumor model, the MoS2-PEG nanospheres exhibited good antitumor efficiency in vivo, displaying complete tumor inhibition over 16 days after treatment. Therefore, MoS2-PEG nanospheres played an important role in tumor destruction, and this concept for developing spherical MoS2-based nanomedicines can serve as a platform technology for the next generation of in vivo PTT agents.

Aescin, a natural mixture of triterpene saponins, has been reported to exert anticancer effect. Recent studies show that aescin increases intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. However, whether the increased ROS play a role in the anticancer action of aescin remains to be explored. In this study, we demonstrated that aescin (20-80 μg/mL) dose-dependently induced apoptosis and activated mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR)-independent autophagy in human hepatocellular carcinoma HepG2 cells and colon carcinoma HCT 116 cells. The activation of autophagy favored cancer cell survival in response to aescin, as suppression of autophagy with ATG5 siRNAs or 3-methyladenine (3-MA), a selective inhibitor of autophagy, promoted aescin-induced apoptosis in vitro, and significantly enhanced the anticancer effect of aescin in vivo. Meanwhile, aescin dose-dependently elevated intracellular ROS levels and activated Ataxia-telangiectasia mutated kinase/AMP-activated protein kinase/UNC-51-like kinase-1 (ATM/AMPK/ULK1) pathway. The ROS and ATM/AMPK/ULK1 pathway were upstream modulators of the aescin-induced autophagy, as N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) or ATM kinase inhibitor (KU-55933) remarkably suppressed aescin-induced autophagy and consequently promoted aescin-induced apoptosis, whereas overexpression of ATG5 partly attenuated NAC-induced enhancement in aescin-induced apoptosis. In conclusion, this study provides new insights into the roles of aescin-mediated oxidative stress and autophagy in cancer cell survival. Our results suggest that combined administration of the antioxidants or autophagic inhibitors with aescin might be a potential strategy to enhance the anticancer effect of aescin.

Opioid analgesics remain the first choice for the treatment of moderate to severe pain, but they are also notorious for their respiratory depression and addictive effects. This study focused on the pharmacology of a novel opioid receptor mixed agonist DPI-125 and attempted to elucidate the relationship between the δ-, μ- and κ-receptor potency ratio and respiratory depression and abuse liability. Five diarylmethylpiperazine compounds (DPI-125, DPI-3290, DPI-130, KUST202 and KUST13T02) were selected for this study. PKA fluorescence redistribution assays in CHO cells individually expressing δ-, μ- or κ-receptors were used to measure the agonist potency. The respiratory safety profiles were estimated in rats by the ratio of ED50 (pCO2 increase)/ED50 (antinociception). The abuse liability of DPI-125 was evaluated with a self-administration model in rhesus monkeys. The observed agonist potencies of DPI-125 for δ-, μ- and κ-opioid receptors were 4.29±0.36, 11.10±3.04, and 16.57±4.14 nmol/L, respectively. The other four compounds were also mixed agonists with varying potencies. DPI-125 exhibited a high respiratory safety profile, clearly related to its high δ-receptor potency. The ratio of the EC50 potencies for the μ- and δ-receptors was found to be positively correlated with the respiratory safety ratio. DPI-125 has similar potencies for μ- and κ-receptors, which is likely the reason for its reduced abuse potential. Our results demonstrate that the opioid receptor mixed agonist DPI-125 is safer and less addictive than traditional μ-agonist analgesics. These findings suggest that the development of δ>μ∼κ opioid receptor mixed agonists is feasible, and such compounds could represent a promising class of potent analgesics with wider therapeutic windows.

BackgroundProximal symphalangism is a rare disease with multiple phenotypes including reduced proximal interphalangeal joint space, symphalangism of the 4th and/or 5th finger, as well as hearing loss. At present, at least two types of proximal symphalangism have been identified in the clinic. One is proximal symphalangism-1A (SYM1A), which is caused by genetic variants inNoggin(NOG), another is proximal symphalangism-1B (SYM1B), which is resulted fromGrowth Differentiation Factor 5(GDF5) mutations.Case presentationHere, we reported a Chinese family with symphalangism of the 4th and/or 5th finger and moderate deafness. The proband was a 13-year-old girl with normal intelligence but symphalangism of the 4th finger in the left hand and moderate deafness. Hearing testing and inner ear CT scan suggested that the proband suffered from structural deafness. Family history investigation found that her father (II-3) and grandmother (I-2) also suffered from hearing loss and symphalangism. Target sequencing identified a novel heterozygousNOGmutation, c.690C > G/p.C230W, which was the genetic lesion of the affected family. Bioinformatics analysis and public databases filtering further confirmed the pathogenicity of the novel mutation. Furthermore, we assisted the family to deliver a baby girl who did not carry the mutation by genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis using amniotic fluid DNA sequencing.ConclusionIn this study, we identified a novelNOGmutation (c.690C > G/p.C230W) by target sequencing and helped the family to deliver a baby who did not carry the mutation. Our study expanded the spectrum ofNOGmutations and contributed to genetic diagnosis and counseling of families with SYM1A.

LiSr4−x(BO3)3:xSm3+ and LiSr3.985−x(BO3)3:0.015Sm3+, xK+ phosphors were prepared by solid-state reactions. The phases and luminescent properties of the obtained phosphors were characterized. The results demonstrate that the phosphors particles emit an intensive reddish orange light emission under excitation at 403 nm. LiSr4−x(BO3)3:xSm3+ phosphor can be efficiently excited by ultraviolet and blue light, and the emission spectrum consists of three emission peaks at 564, 601 and 647 nm. The introduction of the charge compensator K+ into the LiSr4−x(BO3)3:xSm3+ phosphor matrix promotes the increase of the emission intensity, as well as the decrease of the Eg value. Results suggest that LiSr3.97(BO3)3:0.015Sm3+, 0.015 K+ is a promising orange–red emitting phosphor for UV LED applications.

It is well recognized that intraoperative aneurysm rupture (IAR) is a serious event that is difficult to manage and has a relatively serious influence on a patient’s prognosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of different bleeding positions of IAR in patients, and to describe the technique that the authors have used to clip the ruptured aneurysms. From May 2009 to March 2012, a total of 148 aneurysms in 135 consecutive patients in our institution underwent clipping surgeries, and 31 IARs occurred in 30 patients. The clinical data of all patients were retrospectively analyzed. Statistics analysis was performed to analyze possible factors of different bleeding positions of IARs, to assist observation. Outcome was estimated by Glasgow outcome scale via following up or calling back within 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery: 94 patients were 5’, 23 patients were 4’, nine patients were 3’, two patients were 2’ and eight patients were 1’. There was no significant difference between the outcome of IAR and that of no intraoperative aneurysm rupture (NIAR) in Hunt–Hess groups 0–III (P = 0.802) and Hunt–Hess groups IV–V (P = 0.229), and the different bleeding positions were shown to be an important factor that significantly influences the patients’ prognosis (P = 0.001). Different bleeding positions of IAR have a significant impact on surgical outcome; IAR of the neck is the most devastating complication. If surgeons take appropriate measures according to different bleeding positions, the efficiency, accuracy and security of the operation will be improved.

We studied plugging of crossflow behind oil-well casing with nitrogen foam under reservoir conditions. We have experimentally demonstrated the feasibility of the gas—liquid injection mode and suggest injecting the foam into the water-producing layer. If the nitrogen is injected first, the pressure in the oil-producing layer exceeds the pressure in the water-producing layer. The nitrogen can displace some of the water from the pores, reducing dilution of the foaming agent. As the experimental results show, the plugging strength of the foam injected into the water-producing layer is reduced as the plugging time increases. When the plugging time is longer than 200 hours, the pressure gradient can exceed 1.22 MPa/m and as a result, the nitrogen foam continues to plug the water. However, the lifetime of the nitrogen foam in the oil-producing layer is limited. The experimental study of plugging crossflow behind the casing with nitrogen foam and the field tests conducted confirmed the feasibility of plugging crossflow behind the casing with nitrogen foam.

Cytochrome P450 aromatase, which is encoded by the CYP19a gene, converts androgens to estradiol. Considerable evidence suggests that estrogens play an important role in fish reproductive process. Therefore CYP19a is an excellent candidate gene for reproductive traits. Variants in the promoter of the CYP19a gene might also be involved in the control of aromatase expression and affect regulatory mechanism linking cholesterol metabolism to the synthesis of sex steroids. In this study, nine single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were detected with polymerase chain reaction-single stranded conformational polymorphism (PCR-SSCP), namely A-680G, G-672A, AGTAGT-649 inserting or deleting, T-623C, C-410A, T7-454A, T-402C, TTTCCAGACTGA-345 inserting or deleting, and G-297C. Nine SNPs within the promoter of the CYP19a gene were tested for association with four reproductive traits [serum testosterone (T), serum 17beta-estradiol (E(2)), hepatosomatic index (HSI), and gonadosomatic index (GSI)] in a population of 50 female Japanese flounder individuals. A locus, P3 (TTTCCAGACTGA-345 inserting or deleting, G-297C), was significantly associated with 17beta-estradiol (E(2)) level (P0.05) in female Japanese flounder. In addition, there was significant association between one diplotype based on nine SNPs and reproductive trait. The genetic effect for E(2) level of diplotype D3 was significantly higher than those of other diplotypes (P0.05). Results indicate that these genetic effects of those variants on E(2) level may help to explain CYP19a gene status in the reproductive endocrinology of Japanese flounder.

We analyze the classical penalty algorithm for nonlinear programming in Hilbert spaces and obtain global convergence results, as well as asymptotic superlinear convergence order. These convergence results generalize similar results obtained for finite-dimensional problems. Moreover, the nature of the algorithms allows us to solve the unconstrained subproblems in finite-dimensional spaces.

Hyperbolic metasurfaces have recently emerged as a new research frontier because of the unprecedented capabilities to manipulate surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) and many potential applications. However, thus far, the existence of hyperbolic metasurfaces has neither been observed nor predicted at low frequencies because noble metals cannot support SPPs at longer wavelengths. Here, we propose and experimentally demonstrate spoof plasmonic metasurfaces with a hyperbolic dispersion, where the spoof SPPs propagate on complementary H-shaped, perfectly conducting surfaces at low frequencies. Thus, non-divergent diffractions, negative refraction and dispersion-dependent spin-momentum locking are observed as the spoof SPPs travel over the hyperbolic spoof plasmonic metasurfaces (HSPMs). The HSPMs provide fundamental new platforms to explore the propagation and spin of spoof SPPs. They show great capabilities for designing advanced surface wave devices such as spatial multiplexers, focusing and imaging devices, planar hyperlenses, and dispersion-dependent directional couplers, at both microwave and terahertz frequencies. An artificial optical material known as a hyperbolic metasurface that operates at low frequencies has been made. Metamaterials can be designed to have optical properties not found in nature. One example is the hyperbolic metasurface, so called because the strongly anisotropic electric or magnetic response of the material creates a hyperbolic dispersion in the photon's momemtum space. So far, only hyperbolic metasurfaces that operate at relatively high frequencies have been created. Now, Hongsheng Chen from Zhejiang University in China and co-workers has created a spoof plasmonic metasurface with exotic optical properties and that have low-frequency operation. They achieved this by using so-called spoof surface-plasmon polaritons that arise as light interacts with capacitances and inductances created by an array of H-shaped perfectly conducting surfaces. We propose and experimentally demonstrate spoof plasmonic metasurfaces with a hyperbolic dispersion, where the spoof SPPs propagate on complementary H-shaped perfectly conducting surfaces at low frequencies. Foliar sprays of calonyctin, a natural plant growth regulator extracted from the leaves ofCalonyction aculeatum (L.) House, at a concentration 0.05 activity units, increased the tuber yield of six potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivars by 7–19% (mean 15%) during 1993 and 1994. Physiological differences between calonyctin-treated and untreated potato plants were usually detected 30–40 days after spraying them with calonyctin. The chlorophyll content of treated potato leaves increased, and the chlorophyll a:b ratio decreased. By 40 days after treatment the root oxidizability and soluble protein contents of different parts of the plants also increased. Their subsequent decline as the plants aged was inhibited by calonyctin. It is concluded that calonyctin delayed the senescence of potato plants and increased tuber growth at later stages of development.
