The traditional channel sounding protocol requires that the whole sounding process must be completed within a coherent time. When the communication delay is close to or greater than the coherent time, the protocol will not work properly. In order to solve this problem, a novel Non-Time-Limited channel sounding protocol is proposed. The proposed channel sounding protocol does not need to guarantee the channel reciprocity, has no limit on the communication delay and has strong multi-relay scalability. At the same time, a relay-assisted security extension mechanism is proposed to prevent the collaborative eavesdropping of the neighboring attackers. Simulation experiments show that the Non-Time-Limited channel sounding protocol can get rid of the influence of channel change speed on key generation, effectively improve key consistency in high-speed mobile scenarios, and still maintain good key agreement rate performance in underwater acoustic communication.

To observe the effects and safety of Tongyan Spray (通咽喷雾剂) on the range and time of hyoid motion in patients with ischemic post-stroke dysphagia. Seventy-two patients with ischemic post-stroke dysphagia were selected and randomly assigned to a treatment group (36 cases) and a control group (36 cases) by a random number table from January 2013 to October 2014. All patients swallowed 4 kinds of barium meals with different traits respectively, and each patient underwent video fluoroscopy (VF) examination twice. In the treatment group, Tongyan Spray was sprayed to the pharynx on both sides and the middle part once respectively. The spray was applied 30 min before the second examination. Purified water at room temperature was used as placebo in the control group. The changes in the range and time of hyoid motion in both groups were observed before and after treatment. Six patients dropped out in each group, and 60 patients completed the study and were included in the final analysis. Background As the number of indicated malignancies for which immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy such as pembrolizumab grows the descriptions of associated immune-related adverse events (irAEs) increases as well. On rare occasions immunotherapy can lead to development of Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) which is a potentially lethal inflammatory disorder characterized by histiocyte activation and cytokine storm. At this time no cases of HLH developing in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) patients receiving pembrolizumab have been reported. Case presentation Here we describe the first documented case of pembrolizumab-induced HLH in a 61 year-old male with metastatic HNSCC after having received multiple prior cycles of pembrolizumab without event. Following cycle 14 the patient developed fever associated with new pancytopenia and transaminitis prompting hospital admission. Infectious workup was negative, his metastatic lesions were found to be stable, and there was no evidence of new malignancy. Further workup demonstrated hyperferritinemia and bone marrow biopsy demonstrated hemophagocytosis concerning for pembrolizumab-induced HLH. Etoposide and dexamethasone therapy was initiated leading to clinical improvement and safe discharge. Conclusions Immunotherapy is a groundbreaking therapeutic intervention for patients with malignancy, however by nature of their mechanism carry a risk of inflammatory side effects. In rare circumstances these inflammatory reactions include potentially deadly syndromes such as HLH. As immunotherapeutics such as pembrolizumab become more widely utilized increased awareness of complications such as HLH is clinically relevant.

Objective To observe the effectiveness and safety of Tongyan Spray (通咽喷雾剂) composed of Chinese medicine for post-stroke dysphagia patients.

Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) is the most frequent and most toxic microcystin identified. This natural toxin has multiple features, including inhibitor of protein phosphatases 1 and 2A, inducer of oxidative stress, as well as, tumor initiator and promoter. One unique character of MC-LR is this chemical can accumulate into liver after contacting and lead to severe damage to hepatocytes, such as apoptosis. Fas receptor (Fas) and Fas ligand (FasL) system is a critical signaling system initiating apoptosis. In current study, we explored whether MC-LR could induce Fas and FasL expression in HepG2 cells, a well used in vitro model for the study of human hepatocytes. The data showed MC-LR induced Fas and FasL expression, at both mRNA and protein levels. We also found MC-LR induced apoptosis at the same incubation condition at which it induced Fas and FasL expression. The data also revealed MC-LR promoted nuclear translocation and activation of p65 subunit of NF-κB. By applying siRNA to knock down p65 in HepG2 cells, we successfully impaired the activation of NF-κB by MC-LR. In these p65 knockdown cells, we also observed significant reduction of MC-LR-induced Fas expression, FasL expression, and apoptosis. These findings demonstrate that the NF-κB mediates the induction of Fas and FasL as well as cellular apoptosis by MC-LR in HepG2 cells. The results bring important information for understanding how MC-LR induces apoptosis in hepatocytes.

A novel cubane complex with formula of [Ni(μ3-OCH3)L(CH3OH)]4 (1) has been successfully assembled by using o-vanillin as multidentate ligand. Each Ni(II) ion is six coordinate, being bound to four oxygen atoms from four methanol molecules, one phenoxido oxygen atom and one aldehyde oxygen atom from the o-vanillin ligand. The cubane structure is characterized by a Ni4O4 core assembled from four nickel atoms and four deprotonated, bidentate o-vanillin ligands and the cubic array of alternating nickel and oxygen atoms give intracluster metal–metal separations of 3.054(1) and 3.076(1) A respectively. Preliminary magnetic studies suggest the existence of a weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the nickel ions. A novel tetranuclear nickel(II) complex with Ni4O4 cubane core has been assembled by using o-vanillin as multidentate ligand.

A novel samarium(III) polymer, [Sm2(C6H5COO)6(CH3OH)3]·CH3OH (1) has been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements. Polymer 1 crystallizes in monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, with a = 15.1247(6), b = 18.3351(7), c = 21.1266(6) A, β = 126.830(2)°, V = 4689.4(3) A3, and Z = 4. Single crystal X-ray analysis reveals a chain-like structure of 1 consisted of alternating eight- and nine-coordinate Sm(III) ions bridged by benzoate ligands in different coordination modes. A treatment of the variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility using an expression deduced from free-ion approximation and molecular field theory suggests the existence of a weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the samarium ions. A novel one-dimensional samarium polymer containing alternating eight- and nine-coordinate Sm(III) ions has been generated by incorporating benzoic acid in three different binding modes in its deprotonated state.

The bimetallic complex of Ni2Co(TTHA)·12H2O (TTHA = triethylene tetraminehexaacetic acid) was synthesized and characterized structurally and magnetically. The title complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group P ī with a = 0.7316(2), b = 0.8624(2), c = 1.5041(4) nm; α = 73.38(2), β = 83.97(2), γ = 70.50(2)°. The crystal structure is built up of [Ni2(TTHA)(H2O)2]2−, Co(H2O)62+ and water molecules. The variable magnetic measurement shows that there is strong antiferromagnetic interaction between two Ni(II) ions in [Ni2(TTHA) (H2O)2]2− with JNi−Ni = −141.64 cm−1, gNi = 2.21 and that the constant of spin-orbit coupling of Co(II) ion is −134.8 cm−1.
