Excellent soft magnetic properties of the amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys are attributed to their unique microstructure. In this work, Fe73.5Si13.5-xNb3Cu1B9Px (x = 0, 3.5, 7, 10 at. %) amorphous ribbons have been fabricated using the melt spinning technique. The effect of annealing temperature (475 ~ 600 ℃) on the microstructure and soft magnetic properties have been studied. According to the results, the thermal stability of FeSiNbCuBP amorphous alloys was improved by the partial substitution of Si by P. Moreover, it was found that the grain growth of α-Fe (Si) phase can be restrained by the appropriate amount of P addition and result to a grain refinement of the alloys during annealing. Base on refinement grain size (9 nm) and optimal crystallization volume fraction (47%), Fe73.5Si10Nb3Cu1B9P3.5 nanocrystalline alloy with low coercivity of 0.02 A/m and high effective permeability of 3.22 × 104 was developed after annealed at 525 ℃. The aphasia quotient of Western Aphasia Battery (WAB-AQ) has been used as an inclusion criterion and as an outcome measure in clinical, research, or community settings. The WAB-AQ is also commonly used to measure recovery. This study aimed to quantitatively determine levels of the linguistic deficit by using a cluster analysis of the WAB-AQ in post-stroke aphasia (PSA). 308 patients were extracted from the database. Cutoff scores are defined by mean overlap WAB-AQ scores of clusters by systematic cluster analysis, the method of which is the farthest neighbor element, and the metrics are square Euclidean distance and Pearson correlation, performed on the full sample of WAB-AQ individual subitem scores. A 1-way analysis of variance, with post hoc comparisons conducted, was used to determine whether clusters had significant differences. Three clusters were identified. The scores for severe, moderate, and mild linguistic deficit levels ranged from 0 to 30, 30.1 to 50.3, and 50.4 to 93.7, respectively. Abnormal cardiac fibrosis indicates cardiac dysfunction and poor prognosis in myocardial infarction (MI) patients. Many studies have demonstrated that the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS) plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of fibrosis. Ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase L1 (UCHL1), a member of the UPS, is related to fibrosis in several heart diseases. However, whether UCHL1 regulates cardiac fibrosis following MI has yet to be determined. In the present study, we found that UCHL1 was dramatically increased in infarct hearts and TGF-β1-stimulated cardiac fibroblasts (CFs). Inhibition of UCHL1 with LDN57444 (LDN) reversed the myocardial fibrosis in post-MI heart and improved cardiac function. Treatment of LDN or UCHL1 siRNA abolished the TGF-β1-induced fibrotic response of CFs. We further identified GRP78 as an interactor of UCHL1 through screening using immunoprecipitation-mass spectrometer. We determined that UCHL1 interacted with glucose-regulated protein of 78 kDa (GRP78) and prompted GRP78 degradation via ubiquitination. Furthermore, we found that GRP78 was upregulated after UCHL1 knockdown and that the GRP78 inhibitor HA15 diminished the antifibrotic function exerted by UCHL1 knockdown in CFs stimulated with TGF-β1. This suggests that UCHL1 regulates cardiac fibrosis post MI through interactions with GRP78. This work identifies that the UCHL1-GRP78 axis is involved in cardiac fibrosis after MI. The microstructure evolution of Zr60Al15Ni25 bulk metallic glass during rolling at room temperature is investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and selected area electronic diffraction (SAED). The HRTEM images show that shear bands are produced in the rolled specimens, indicating the essence of inhomogeneous deformation due to rolling, and that there exist nanocrystals with size of about 5–10 nm in the transition regions between the shear bands and the undeformed matrix in the rolled specimens with deformation degrees of 80% and 95%. Based on the polyhedral structure model and the shear transformation zone (STZ) theory, the influence of viscous flow, free volume, viscosity and the stress situation on the crystallization behaviors in the metallic glass during rolling is discussed. The microstructure evolution of the Zr60Al15Ni25 metallic glass during rolling at room temperature is investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HREM). The results show that the values of full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the XRD patterns and exothermic enthalpy Δ H of DSC plots do not monotonically change with the variation of deformation degrees ɛ. As ɛ is not large than 20%, the values of FWHM and Δ H are lower than that of the as-cast state. When ɛ reaches 30%, the values of FWHM and ΔH become larger than that of the as-cast state, while their values begin to decrease again as ɛ reaches about 85%. These results indicate that the reversible transitions between ordered and disordered atomic configurations occur during rolling, which is further verified by the HREM images. The reversible phase transition can be explained by the competition between the diffusion controlled reordering and shear-induced disordering during rolling. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) shows that repeated melting of mother ingot improves the stability of icosahedral phase (I-phase) precipitated from Zr65Al7.5Ni10Cu12.5Ag5 glass. The Kissinger analysis of crystallization implies that the effective activation energies for the precipitation of I-phase and its decomposition considerably increases due to the repeated melting of mother ingot. Repeated melting of mother ingot refines ingot microstructure. Because of structure heredity, the size of the short-range orders (SROs) in the glassy alloy produced from the mother ingot with finer microstructure becomes smaller, which makes the rearrangement of atoms more clifficult, and the I-phase more stable. Dynamic thermal rating (DTR) of transmission lines is related to wind speed, wind direction, ambient temperature, and so on. Among the environmental parameters, there is a difference between the obtained environmental parameters and the true value. Therefore, only the deterministic values of environmental parameters and DTR are not accurate enough. Considering the environmental parameters obtained with uncertainty, the uncertainty of environment parameters based on Monte Carlo Method (MCM) is studied in this paper. According to the heat balance equation of transmission lines, the uncertainty analysis of transmission line ampacity is realized based on CIGRE standard. The best estimation value, standard uncertainty, and confidence interval are obtained under a given confidence level of environmental parameters. The experimental results show that DTR can fully improve the transmission capacity of transmission lines, and MCM is an effective method to assess uncertainty of DTR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this work, the new injection molding device was designed to simulate the process of squeeze-casting. The effect of different Y additions on the compressive properties and corrosion resistance of AZ91D-1.6 Ca alloy was studied. The results proved that the addition of Y further refined the microstructure of the alloy. At the same time, with the addition of Y, the new Al2Y phase appeared in the microstructure. The compressive strength of the alloy increases first and then decreases with the addition of Y, and the maximum compressive strength of 372 MPa was obtained when Y content reaches 1.2 wt%. The corrosion resistance of the alloy was improved after adding the appropriate amount of Y. In general, the mechanical properties of the samples prepared by injection molding are equivalent to those of squeeze-casting samples, which can effectively simulate the squeeze-casting process in the laboratory environment for alloy design. Adding an appropriate amount of Y element can improve the alloy. At the same time, it shows that the combined addition of Ca and Y can improve the compression property and corrosion resistance of the material within a certain composition range. In this study, a magnesium alloy injection molding device was designed based on the principle of indirect squeeze casting. The alloy system of Mg–Zn–Mn–Y was manufactured using the injection molding technology. The injection molding samples exhibit a significantly refined microstructure compared to gravity casting samples. Furthermore, the compressibility of the injection molding samples displays notable improvement over gravity casting samples. In addition, the compressive strength increases gradually with higher Y content. However, the thermal conductivity continuously declines after adding Y, and the thermal conductivity of the injection sample is lower than that of the gravity casting sample. Additionally, the T6 treatment leads to further improvements in both the compressibility and thermal conductivity of the alloy. Overall, the experiment successfully designed a magnesium alloy system with high strength and thermal conductivity. Moreover, the injection molding device has proved effective in improving compression performance and rapidly designing new alloy compositions in a laboratory setting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
