Background: The specific CT-related skeletal muscle parameters predictive of postoperative survival in liver transplant (LT) patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain unclear. There is increasing evidence supporting the role of fatty acids and their lipid intermediates in regulating skeletal muscle mass and function, the relationship between lipoprotein subfractions and body composition remains unclear. Methods: Adult patients with HCC who underwent LT between January 2015 and September 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. CT parameters, including skeletal muscle index (SMI), psoas muscle index (PMI), skeletal muscle density (SMD), visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue (VAT and SAT), and the VAT/SAT ratio at the L3 level, and lipid profiles, were assessed prior to LT. Results: Of the 284 LT patients with HCC, 224 underwent CT (L3 level) within 3 months of LT, and 82 (37%) were diagnosed with myosteatosis. Patients with myosteatosis exhibited significantly lower 1- and 3-year survival rates (p = 0.002, p = 0.01), a trend persisting even beyond the Milan criteria (p = 0.004, p = 0.04). After adjusting for covariates, SMD demonstrated a significant negative correlation with post-transplant survival (HR: 0.90, [95% Confidence Interval(CI): 0.83–0.98], C-statistic: 0.78, p = 0.009). Pearson's correlation analysis revealed a positive correlation between high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and apolipoprotein A1(ApoA1) levels and SMD. Multivariate stepwise regression analysis demonstrated that every 10 Hounsfield unit decrease in SMD was associated with a 0.16 mmol/L decrease in HDL-C and a 0.18 g/L decrease in ApoA1. Conclusion: Routine abdominal CT scans for assessing skeletal muscle density before LT were significantly associated with post-transplant mortality. Well-functioning vascular access (VA) is essential for hemodialysis treatment in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). However, continuous and accurate monitoring of blood flow to assess high-flux VA during hospitalization or at home is not feasible for either clinical instruments or wearable sensors. Here, we report the design and preclinical validation of a high-precision, long-term, epidermal blood flow sensor that self-adapts to unavoidable sensor-mounting deviations on the skin and is compatible with individual tissue differences. Specifically, the technology is based on thermal dissipation of the skin, and improves the signal-to-error ratio surpassing 4 times when measuring high-flux blood (100–600 mL/min). In preclinical validation, the sensor is compared with the Doppler ultrasound and demonstrate a blood flow resolution of 10–50 mL/min. Furthermore, it is highly-integrated and wearable, measuring 36 × 50 mm2. Recognizing low-resolution text images is challenging as they often lose their detailed information, leading to poor recognition accuracy. Moreover, the traditional methods, based on deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs), are not effective enough for some low-resolution text images with dense characters. In this paper, a novel CNN-based batch-transformer network for scene text image super-resolution (BT-STISR) method is proposed to address this problem. In order to obtain the text information for text reconstruction, a pre-trained text prior module is employed to extract text information. Then a novel two pipeline batch-transformer-based module is proposed, leveraging self-attention and global attention mechanisms to exert the guidance of text prior to the text reconstruction process. Experimental study on a benchmark dataset TextZoom shows that the proposed method BT-STISR achieves the best state-of-the-art performance in terms of structural similarity (SSIM) and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) metrics compared to some latest methods. Recently, the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) has given rise to a significant trust crisis, stemming from the persistent emergence of issues in practical applications. As a crucial component of AI, data has a profound impact on the trustworthiness of AI. Nevertheless, researchers have struggled with the challenge of rationally assessing data quality, primarily due to the scarcity of versatile and effective evaluation methods. To address this trouble, a multi-dimensional hierarchical evaluation system (MDHES) is proposed to estimate the data quality. Initially, multiple key dimensions are devised to evaluate specific data conditions separately by the calculation of individual scores. Then, the strengths and weaknesses among various dimensions can be provided a clearer understanding. Furthermore, a comprehensive evaluation method, incorporating a fuzzy evaluation model, is developed to synthetically evaluate the data quality. Then, this evaluation method can achieve a dynamic balance, and meanwhile achieve a harmonious integration of subjectivity and objectivity criteria to ensure a more precise assessment result. Finally, rigorous experiment verification and comparison in both benchmark problems and real-world applications demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed MDHES, which can accurately assess data quality to provide a strong data support for the development of trustworthy AI. Septic cardiomyopathy is a life-threatening heart dysfunction caused by severe infection. Considering the complexity of pathogenesis and high mortality, the identification of efficient biomarkers are needed to guide clinical practice. Based on multimicroarray analysis, this study aimed to explore the pathogenesis of septic cardiomyopathy and the related immune landscape. The results showed that septic cardiomyopathy resulted in organ dysfunction due to extreme pro- and anti-inflammatory effects. In this process, KLRG1, PRF1, BCL6, GAB2, MMP9, IL1R1, JAK3, IL6ST, and SERPINE1 were identified as the hub genes regulating the immune landscape of septic cardiomyopathy. Nine transcription factors regulated the expression of these genes: SRF, STAT1, SP1, RELA, PPARG, NFKB1, PPARA, SMAD3, and STAT3. The hub genes activated the Th17 cell differentiation pathway, JAK-STAT signaling pathway, and cytokine‒cytokine receptor interaction pathway. These pathways were mainly involved in regulating the inflammatory response, adaptive immune response, leukocyte-mediated immunity, cytokine-mediated immunity, immune effector processes, myeloid cell differentiation, and T-helper cell differentiation. Advances in modern medicine have extended human life expectancy, leading to a world with a gradually aging society. Aging refers to a natural decline in the physiological functions of a species over time, such as reduced pain sensitivity and reaction speed. Healthy-level physiological pain serves as a warning signal to the body, helping to avoid noxious stimuli. Physiological pain sensitivity gradually decreases in the elderly, increasing the risk of injury. Therefore, geriatric health care receives growing attention, potentially improving the health status and life quality of the elderly, further reducing medical burden. Health food is a geriatric healthcare choice for the elderly with Ganoderma tsuage (GT), a Reishi type, as the main product in the market. GT contains polysaccharides, triterpenoids, adenosine, immunoregulatory proteins, and other components, including anticancer, blood sugar regulating, antioxidation, antibacterial, antivirus, and liver and stomach damage protective agents. However, its pain perception-related effects remain elusive. This study thus aimed at addressing whether GT could prevent pain sensitivity reduction in the elderly. We used a galactose-induced animal model for aging to evaluate whether GT could maintain pain sensitivity in aging mice undergoing formalin pain test, hot water test, and tail flexes. Our results demonstrated that GT significantly improved the sensitivity and reaction speed to pain in the hot water, hot plate, and formalin tests compared with the control. Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), noted for its widespread prevalence among adults, has become the leading chronic liver condition globally. Simultaneously, the annual disease burden, particularly liver cirrhosis caused by NAFLD, has increased significantly. Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) play a crucial role in the progression of this disease and are key to the pathogenesis of NAFLD. However, research into the specific roles of NETs-related genes in NAFLD is still a field requiring thorough investigation. Utilizing techniques like AddModuleScore, ssGSEA, and WGCNA, our team conducted gene screening to identify the genes linked to NETs in both single-cell and bulk transcriptomics. Using algorithms including Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Least Absolute Shrinkage, and Selection Operator, we identified ZFP36L2 and PHLDA1 as key hub genes. The pivotal role of these genes in NAFLD diagnosis was confirmed using the training dataset GSE164760. This study identified 116 genes linked to NETs across single-cell and bulk transcriptomic analyses. These genes demonstrated enrichment in immune and metabolic pathways. Additionally, two NETs-related hub genes, PHLDA1 and ZFP36L2, were selected through machine learning for integration into a prognostic model. These hub genes play roles in inflammatory and metabolic processes. scRNA-seq results showed variations in cellular communication among cells with different expression patterns of these key genes. In conclusion, this study explored the molecular characteristics of NETs-associated genes in NAFLD. It identified two potential biomarkers and analyzed their roles in the hepatic microenvironment. Based on expectancy-value theory, this study adopted a person-centred approach to explore the heterogeneous profiles of secondary German and Taiwanese students' mathematical modelling task values, and examined the differences in their mathematical modelling performance, controlling for the variable of intra-mathematical knowledge among the heterogeneous profiles. Authors conducted a survey study of 452 ninth graders (201 German students and 251 Taiwanese students). The results showed that German and Taiwanese students respectively displayed three profiles of mathematical modelling task values: a) moderate utility and moderate interest/attainment, b) high utility but low interest/attainment, and c) low utility but high interest/attainment. Furthermore, different profiles of mathematical modelling task values showed significant differences in mathematical modelling performance for Taiwanese students but not for German students, even after removing the variable of intra-mathematical knowledge. This study advances the understanding of students' mathematical modelling task values and its relation with their mathematical modelling performance by the expectancy-value model of achievement motivation and person-centred analyses, and sheds light on the learning and teaching of mathematical modelling. Objective: To explore the effect of acupotomy intervention on autophagy of chondrocytes in rabbits with knee osteoarthritis (KOA), and to determine the possible mechanisms of acupotomy to alleviate cartilage degeneration. Methods: The modified Videman method was used to construct a KOA rabbit model. After modeling, 40 rabbits were randomly divided into 4 groups by a random number table: control; KOA (model); KOA + acupotomy (acupotomy), and KOA + sham acupotomy (sham), 10 in each group. After a 3-week treatment course, the knee joint activity was determined by the modified Lequesne MG index. Hematoxylin-eosin staining staining was used to examine the morphological changes of chondrocytes. Autophagy of chondrocytes was observed by transmission electron microscopy. The surface morphology of cartilage tissue was observed by scanning electron microscope. The mRNA and protein levels of AMP kinase/mammalian target of rapamycin/Unc-51 (AMPK/mTOR/ULK1) signal pathway key proteins, autophagy-related factor Beclin-1 and microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B light chain 3 (LC3) in rabbit knee cartilage were assessed by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot, respectively. Results: The modified Lequesne MG score of acupotomy group was significantly lower than that of model group (P<0.05). Pathological results showed that chondrocyte autophagy decreased and cartilage surface was rough in the model group, which recovered after acupotomy treatment. The mRNA expressions of AMPK, ULK1, Beclin-1 and the protein levels of p-AMPK, p-ULK1, Beclin-1, and LC3 II/LC3 I were decreased in the model group, while the mRNA and protein expressions of mTOR were increased (P<0.01). However, acupotomy treatment reversed these abnormal changes (P<0.05). Conclusions: Acupotomy could effectively up-regulate the expressions of AMPK, ULK1 and Beclin1, reduce the expression of mTOR, promote autophagy, and alleviate joint degeneration. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a major contributor to cervical cancer. Persistent HPV infection can trigger the expression of IL-32, yet the precise role of IL-32 in the occurrence and development of cervical cancer remains elusive. To investigate this, qRT‒PCR and western blotting were utilized to measure the mRNA and protein expression levels; bioinformatics analysis was used to screen differentially expressed miRNAs; wound healing and transwell assays were conducted to evaluate cell migration and invasion capabilities. Comparative analysis revealed significantly elevated IL-32 expression in cervical cancer tissues and cell lines compared to control groups. In SiHa and/or HeLa, overexpression of IL-32 and IL-32 exposure markedly upregulated miR-205, whereas its knockdown resulted in a substantial downregulation of miR-205. Furthermore, miR-205 also could significantly regulate the expression of IL-32 in HeLa and SiHa cells. Upregulation and downregulation of IL-32 led to a significant increase or decrease in NFκB expression, respectively. Treatment with BAY11-7082 (an NFκB inhibitor) notably decreased miR-205 expression but had no effect on IL-32 levels. qRT‒PCR and western blotting analyses demonstrated that both overexpression and underexpression of IL-32 and miR-205 significantly enhanced or reduced MMP2 and MMP9 expression in cervical cancer cells, respectively. Knockdown of IL-32 significantly inhibited the migration and invasion of HeLa and SiHa; conversely, treatment with rIL-32α and rIL-32γ notably promoted their migration and invasion. In brief, IL-32 is highly expressed via the formation of a positive regulatory loop with NFκB/miR-205, contributing to the persistence of inflammation and promoting the progression of cervical cancer. Electrochemical reactions via carbocation intermediates remain fundamental transformations that build up molecular functionality and complexity in a sustainable manner. Enantioselective control of such processes is a great challenge in a highly ionic electrolyte solution. Here, we report an anodic generation of chiral α-imino carbocation intermediates by enamine catalysis. The chiral carbocation intermediates can be intercepted by a variety of nucleophiles such as alcohols, water and thiols with high stereoselectivity. The key SN1 step proceeds via a tertiary amine-mediated proton shuttle that facilitates facial selection in reacting with carbocation. Carbocations are useful synthetic intermediates which enable direct functionalization of carbon centers, but their generation in a manner that uses mild conditions and enables stereoselective interception remains a longstanding goal of organic chemists. Excessive alternating current (AC) arcs generated in electric systems will accumulate heat and easily cause fire. This paper studies the thermal characteristics of different numbers of AC arc plasma generated in a short gap of copper-cored wires in the air. The number of AC arcs is controlled in the AC arc experiment and an infrared thermal imager measures the temperature change at the specified position. Based on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), a two-dimensional axisymmetric AC arc discharge numerical simulation model is established. The volt-ampere characteristic of the AC arc is used to solve the MHD simulation model to obtain the same 'zero current' characteristics as the real AC arc in the experiment. A large amount of heat accumulates in the electrode gaps when the arc generation, and then the heat dissipates in the 'zero current' stage. The continuously generated arc makes the temperature higher. The volume of the space area with a temperature higher than 10,000 K increases with the arc current, but is unrelated to the number of arcs. The volume of the space area with a temperature higher than 524.15 K and the temperature on the electrode are both positively correlated with the number of AC arcs and arc current. The heat storage capacity of Southern Ocean (SO) buffers future atmospheric warming but differs vastly across climate models. Reducing its projection uncertainty is vital for understanding and evaluating future global sustainability. Using Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6, we show that the present-day SO high-latitude easterly wind anomalies induced by El Niño is an effective constraint for the projected increase in SO heat content. Models simulating weaker El Niño-induced easterlies generate more equatorward atmospheric teleconnection in the present day. Under global warming, these models have greater capacity in the poleward shift of atmospheric circulation, thus generate stronger future increase in El Niño-induced high-latitude easterlies, slowing the SO heat storage by weakening the northward Ekman transport that underpins the dynamical process for SO heat storage. However, most models overestimate the present-day El Niño-induced easterlies, implying that alleviating this bias would reduce future SO heat storage, thus exacerbating atmospheric warming. Energy drives the large deformation of soft rock tunnels, which is a nonlinear mechanical behavior of surrounding rock. This study aims to develop an analytical model for analyzing the energy conversion and absorption processes involved in tunneling. First, an analytical approach is presented for analyzing the energy conversion of the surrounding rock and energy absorption properties of the yielding support system during tunnel excavation. Subsequently, a comprehensive parametric investigation is conducted using the analytical model to investigate the impact of support pressure, tunnel radius, and initial stress on the energy conversion and dissipation of the surrounding rock. Similarly, the effect of support installation time, tunnel radius, and initial stress on the energy absorption properties of the yielding support system is explored. The results reveal that energy is input into the surrounding rock at the outer boundary through radial stress work. A portion of the energy is converted into elastic strain energy of the surrounding rock. Simultaneously, the plastic deformation of the surrounding rock consumes some of the input energy. Subsequently, the remaining energy flows from the excavation boundary as rock pressure work. Installing yielding components in the support system significantly enhances its maximum energy absorption capacity, which may be raised by up to 30 times. Moreover, the earlier the support installation time, the larger the tunnel radius, and the higher the initial stress, the more energy the yielding elements of the support system absorb. Currently, the use of deep learning technologies for detecting defects in transmission line insulators based on images obtained through unmanned aerial vehicle inspection simultaneously presents the problems of insufficient detection accuracy and speed. Therefore, this study first introduced the bidirectional feature pyramid network (BiFPN) module into YOLOv5 to achieve high detection speed as well as enable the combination of image features at different scales, enhance information representation, and allow accurate detection of insulator defect at different scales. Subsequently, the BiFPN module and simple parameter-free attention module (SimAM) were combined to improve the feature representation ability and object detection accuracy. The SimAM also enabled fusion of features at multiple scales, further improving the insulator defect detection performance. Finally, multiple experimental controls were designed to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed model. The experimental results obtained using self-made datasets show that the combined BiFPN and SimAM model (i.e., the improved BaS-YOLOv5 model) performs better than the original YOLOv5 model; the precision, recall, average precision and F1 score increased by 6.2%, 5%, 5.9%, and 6%, respectively. The dentate gyrus (DG) is crucial for distinguishing similar events through pattern separation. It has been proposed that sparse firing granule cells (GCs) perform these computational functions in the DG. GCs are the principal neurons of the DG, and it has been reported that they form a heterogeneous population, including semilunar granule cells (SGCs) and adult-born granule cells (adult-born GCs), both of which have different physiological properties from the GCs. Given their undeniable interactions with GCs, it is important to investigate how the different subpopulations of GCs contribute to pattern separation. By constructing a biologically relevant computational model of the DG, we found that SGCs and adult-born GCs can dynamically regulate pattern separation. Specifically, SGCs and 4–8-week-old adult-born GCs contribute to pattern separation. However, 0–4-week-old adult-born GCs initially increase pattern separation efficiency, then decrease it. Furthermore, SGCs and 4–8-week-old adult-born GCs enhance the sparse firing of GCs, thereby improving pattern separation efficiency. Regarding 0–4-week-old adult-born GCs, the net effect of mossy cells (MCs) on GCs shifts from inhibition to excitation as adult-born GCs mature, resulting in a decrease in pattern separation efficiency. The static and dynamic performance of the machine tool directly affects the machining accuracy, dimensional stability, and service reliability. In order to analyze the mechanical performances of a precision horizontal machine center, a finite element (FE) model was established using ANSYS software. The deformation curve of the guide rail was obtained through static analysis of nine different working conditions. The dynamic characteristics of the precision horizontal machining center were obtained through dynamic analysis. And modal hammer impact tests were conducted on the machining center to verify the simulation results. The results showed that the maximum deformation of the guide rail was 0.0134 mm (situation 6), and the experimental measurement values of the first five natural frequencies of the whole machine were 96 Hz, 116 Hz, 198 Hz, 213 Hz, and 229 Hz. And it was found that adding a column structure can significantly improve the dynamic characteristics of precision horizontal machining centers. Objective: To investigate circadian rhythm-associated long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) signatures in predicting prognosis, metabolism, and immune infiltration in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSC). Methods: HNSC samples were collected from the TCGA database. A signature was constructed using Cox regression and Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) methods. The immune cell infiltration was analyzed using CIBERSORT, ssGSEA, and MCPcounter. The RT-qPCR was used to detect the expression of signature lncRNAs. Results: A signature comprising 8 lncRNAs was constructed. The constructed signature demonstrated good prognostic prediction capability for HNSC. A nomogram encompassing risk score accurately predicted the long-term OS probability of HNSC. The infiltration levels of T cell, B cell and Macrophages were significantly higher in the high-risk group than in the low-risk group. Cluster analysis showed that the signature lncRNAs could classify the HNSC samples into two clusters. The RT-qPCR suggested that the expression of lncRNAs in signature was consistent with the data in TCGA. Conclusion: The circadian rhythm-associated lncRNA signature has potential as a prognostic indicator for HNSC. As one of important large-scale systems in south Asia, the Indian summer monsoon (ISM) can affect the moisture budget and cloud processes over the Tibetan Plateau (TP). The influneces of ISM on cloud and precipitation of the Eastern TP (ETP) are discussed via a cloud-resolving model. The outbreak of ISM can activate the moisture transport between TP and the southern ocean in May, which reaches its annual most active period in July. The simulation results show that, compared to a normal ISM year, the moisture transport is intensified in pre-summer and is weakened in a strong ISM year, leading to more pre-summer deep clouds and rainfall. However, a weak ISM year exhibits weak pre-summer moisture transport and active summer moisture transport, resulting in few pre-summer deep clouds and rainfall. The summer moderate cloud cells are reduced in the strong ISM year while are promoted in the weak ISM year, taking responsibility for the summer precipitation variations. The ETP daily maximum precipitation appears at around 21:00 LST and increases after mid-April, reaches its maximum in summer. The model also suggests that the ETP warm season precipitation variation in the strong ISM year is closely related to deep convective cloud (DCC) properties (e.g. frequency and cloud water content). However, deep clouds (cloud depth > 4.0 km) rather than DCC contribute more to the precipitation diurnal variations during June and July in the weak ISM year. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Traditional point cloud simplification methods are slow to process large point clouds and prone to losing small features, which leads to a large loss of point cloud accuracy. In this paper, a new point cloud simplification method using a three-step strategy is proposed, which realizes efficient reduction of large point clouds while preserving fine features through point cloud down-sampling, normal vector calibration, and feature extraction based on the proposed feature descriptors and neighborhood subdivision strategy. In this paper, we validate the method using measured point clouds of large co-bottomed component surfaces, visualize the errors, and compare it with other methods. The results demonstrate that this method is well-suited for efficiently reducing large point clouds, even those on the order of ten million points, while maintaining high accuracy in feature retention, refinement precision, efficiency, and robustness to noise. For a 2-station and 3-class reentrant line under first-buffer first-served (FBFS) service discipline in light traffic, we firstly construct the strong approximations for performance measures including the queue length, workload, busy time and idle time processes. Based on the obtained strong approximations, we use a strong approximation method to find all the law of the iterated logarithms (LILs) for the above four performance measures, which are expressed as some functions of system parameters: means and variances of interarrival and service times, and characterize the fluctuations around their fluid approximations. Background: Nasal septal mucosal defects following rhinoplasty in Asian patients are uncommon complications. However, the reconstruction of such defects presents a challenging task in plastic surgery. The aim of this study was to present comprehensive surgical strategies for the reconstruction of nasal septal mucosal defect after rhinoplasty. Methods: Thirteen cases presenting with nasal septal mucosal defects between January 2016 and October 2021 were retrospectively reviewed. The size, location, and severity of the defect as well as the extent of cartilage exposure were taken into consideration during evaluation, and surgical approaches were employed for repair accordingly. Patient satisfaction was evaluated using a questionnaire with visual analog scale (VAS) and nasal obstruction symptom evaluation scale (NOSE). Results: The average postoperative follow-up period in this study group was 10.15 months. Reconstruction of nasal septal mucosal defects resulted in successful treatment for all patients. There was no evidence of flap failure or nasal valve stenosis. All patients were satisfied with the reconstruction outcome. Conclusions: The successful application of surgical techniques for nasal septal mucosal defects after rhinoplasty requires comprehensive consideration. The utilization of the retrograde-flow superior labial artery mucosal flap appears to be a secure, efficient, and effective technique for nasal septal mucosal defect reconstruction in rhinoplasty, particularly in cases with cartilage exposure. To capture the higher-order autocorrelation structure for finite-range integer-valued time series of counts, and to consider the driving effect of covariates on the underlying process, this paper introduces a pth-order random coefficients mixed binomial autoregressive process with explanatory variables. The basic probabilistic and statistical properties of the model are discussed. Conditional least squares and conditional maximum likelihood estimators, as well as their asymptotic properties of the estimators are obtained. Moreover, the existence test of explanatory variables are well addressed using a Wald-type test. Forecasting problem is also considered. 1,2-Difunctionalization of alkynes offers a straightforward approach to access polysubstituted alkenes. However, simultaneous multi-component cascade transformations including difunctionalization of two alkynes with both syn- and anti-selectivity in one catalyst system is undeveloped and proves to be a significant challenge. Herein, we report a Nickel-catalyzed four-component reaction to access polysubstituted 1,3-dienes using two terminal alkynes, aryl boroxines, and perfluoroalkyl iodides, wherein the reaction forms three new C-C bonds in a single vessel and serve as a modular strategy to access polysubstituted 1,3-dienes with excellent chemoselectivity, good regioselectivity and exclusive stereoselectivity. Control experiments reveal the plausible reaction mechanism and DFT calculations explain the cause for the formation of this unusual four-component reaction. Furthermore, we successfully incorporate two biologically active units into 1,2,3,4-tetrasubstituted 1,3-dienes, which greatly increases the diversity of molecular scaffolds and brings more potential values to medicinal chemistry, the synthetic utility of our protocol is further demonstrated by the late-stage transformations. To enhance the real-time monitoring and early-warning capabilities for dust disasters in underground coal mine, this paper presents a novel WGAN-CNN-based prediction approach to predict the dust concentration at underground coal mine working faces. Dust concentration, wind speed, temperature, and methane concentration were collected as the original data due to their nonlinear relationship. The consistency between the generated and original data distributions was verified through PCA dimensionality reduction analysis. The predictive performance of this approach was assessed using five metrics (R2, EVS, MSE, RMSE, and MAE) and compared with three other algorithms (Random Forest Regressor, MLP Regressor, and LinearSVR). The findings indicate that a majority of the generated data falls within the distribution range of the real dataset, exhibiting reduced levels of volatility and dispersion. The R2 values of prediction results are all above 98%, and the MSE values are between 0.0007 and 0.0106. The proposed approach exhibits superior predictive accuracy and robust model generalization capabilities compared to alternative algorithms, thereby enhancing the real-time monitoring and early-warning level of dust disasters in underground coal mine. Oceanic fronts play a significant role in marine ecosystems by enhancing vertical exchange, promoting the aggregation of plankton, and drawdown of organic carbon. Anthropogenic emission of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the twentieth century has driven global warming, leading to rising ocean temperatures. Specific regions warming faster than the global average—known as ‘ocean warming hotspots’—have been identified, impacting geophysical and biogeochemical dynamics of local ecosystems. Here, we aim to characterize the variability of sea surface temperature (SST) fronts in the southeast and southwest Australia hotspots. Using a histogram frontal detection method, we derived fronts from AVHRR-only and Multi-sensor 6-day SST composites on a 0.02 × 0.02 grid between January 1993 and December 2019. Our results indicate that frontal frequency and frontal density have increased in both regions in the past three decades, by around 0.2–0.3%. In addition, both regions exhibit higher frequency and density of fronts in austral winter and fewer in austral summer. Our calculations show that changes in frontal frequency/density show some relationship to El Niño-Southern Oscillation and Indian Ocean Dipole. Changes in frontal activity could strongly impact local ocean biogeochemistry and marine ecosystems. Omega-rich oils have been tested to substitute beef solid fats for extending shelf life and nutritional considerations. This method of substitution could alter the sensory quality of final product. Therefore, using omega-rich oils to make coating films may be a new trend to increase the shelf life of meat product without altering meat sensory qualities. Purslane seed oil (PSO) as omega-rich oil was mixed with soy protein isolate (SPI) at different concentrations of 0, 1, 2, and 3% to fabricate SPI edible-based film (PSO1, PSO2, and PSO3, respectively). Inclusion of PSO into SPI based film resulted in improvements in functional, mechanical, thermostability, antioxidant, and color qualities. Moreover, PSO enhanced the stability of lipid against oxidation and inhibited the growth of S. aurues and B. cereus during cold storage of beef burger patties. Conclusively, SPI based film with PSO 3% demonstrated promising functional, mechanical, and antibacterial qualities, suggesting biocomposite food packaging possibilities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Key message: This study precisely mapped and validated a quantitative trait locus (QTL) located on chromosome 4B for flag leaf angle in wheat. Flag leaf angle (FLANG) is closely related to crop architecture and yield. We previously identified the quantitative trait locus (QTL) QFLANG-4B for FLANG on chromosome 4B, located within a 14-cM interval flanked by the markers Xbarc20 and Xzyh357, using a mapping population of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) derived from a cross between Nongda3331 (ND3331) and Zang1817. In this study, we fine-mapped QFLANG-4B and validated its associated genetic effect. We developed a BC3F3 population using ND3331 as the recurrent parent through marker-assisted selection, as well as near-isogenic lines (NILs) by selfing BC3F3 plants carrying different heterozygous segments for the QFLANG-4B region. We obtained eight recombinant types for QFLANG-4B, narrowing its location down to a 5.3-Mb region. This region contained 76 predicted genes, 7 of which we considered to be likely candidate genes for QFLANG-4B. Marker and phenotypic analyses of individual plants from the secondary mapping populations and their progeny revealed that the FLANG of the ND3331 allele is significantly higher than that of the Zang1817 allele in multiple environments. These results not only provide a basis for the map-based cloning of QFLANG-4B, but also indicate that QFLANG-4B has great potential for marker-assisted selection in wheat breeding programs designed to improve plant architecture and yield. Objectives: To assess cumulative effective dose (CED) over a 4-year period in patients undergoing multimodality recurrent imaging at a major hospital in the USA. Methods: CED from CT, fluoroscopically guided intervention (FGI), and nuclear medicine was analyzed in consecutive exams in a tertiary care center in 2018–2021. Patients with CED ≥ 100 mSv were classified by age and body habitus (underweight, healthy weight, overweight, obese), as per body mass index percentiles < 5th, 5th to < 85th, 85th to < 95th, and ≥ 95th (age 2–19 years), and its ranges < 18.5, 18.5–24.9, 25–29.9, and ≥ 30 (≥ 20 years), respectively. Results: Among a total of 205,425 patients, 5.7% received CED ≥ 100 mSv (mean 184 mSv, maximum 1165 mSv) and their ages were mostly 50–64 years (34.1%), followed by 65–74 years (29.8%), ≥ 75 years (19.5%), 20–49 years (16.3%), and ≤ 19 years (0.29%). Body habitus in decreasing occurrence was obese (38.6%), overweight (31.9%), healthy weight (27.5%), and underweight (2.1%). Classification by dose indicated 172 patients (≥ 500 mSv) and 3 (≥ 1000 mSv). In comparison, 5.3% of 189,030 CT patients, 1.6% of 18,963 FGI patients, and 0.19% of 41,401 nuclear-medicine patients received CED ≥ 100 mSv from a single modality. Conclusions: The study of total dose from CT, FGI, and nuclear medicine of patients with CED ≥ 100 mSv indicates major (89%) contribution of CT to CED with 70% of cohort being obese and overweight, and 64% of cohort aged 50–74 years. Clinical relevance statement: Multimodality recurrent exams are common and there is a lack of information on patient cumulative radiation exposure. This study attempts to address this lacuna and has the potential to motivate actions to improve the justification process for enhancing patient safety. In the process of coal-filling mining, the gangue fly-ash slurry (GFS) needs to be transported over a long distance to reach the gobs. The abrupt closure of the valve during the transportation of GFS can result in a water hammer that significantly endangers the stability and safety of the pipeline transport system. To study the fluctuations in pressure induced by abrupt closure of the valve, experiments on the rheological parameters of gangue-coal ash slurry were conducted. Transient numerical simulations were carried out using the computational fluid dynamics method for various valve closing times. The results indicate that, with the increase of slurry concentration, the yield stress of the slurry significantly increases. When the concentration exceeds 76%, the increase in yield stress reaches 38.4% and 35.1%, respectively. Upon valve closure, the internal pressure of the slurry in the pipeline exhibits periodic dynamic oscillations. As the duration of valve closure increases, the frequency of periodic water hammer events decreases. The maximum water hammer pressure caused by valve closure decreases with the increasing distance between the valve and the closure point. At the same time, the intensity of maximum water hammer pressure fluctuations increases with the increase in slurry concentration and flow velocity in the pipeline. Developing the Co-based catalysts with high reactivity for the sulfate radical (SO4−·)–based advanced oxidation processes (SR-AOPs) has been attracting numerous attentions. To improve the peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation process, a novel Co-based catalyst simultaneously modified by bamboo carbon (BC) and vanadium (V@CoO-BC) was fabricated through a simple solvothermal method. The atenolol (ATL) degradation experiments in V@CoO-BC/PMS system showed that the obtained V@CoO-BC exhibited much higher performance on PMS activation than pure CoO, and the V@CoO-BC/PMS system could fully degrade ATL within 5 min via the destruction of both radicals (SO4−· and O2−··) and non-radicals (1O2). The quenching experiments and electrochemical tests revealed that the enhancing mechanism of bamboo carbon and V modification involved four aspects: (i) promoting the PMS and Co ion adsorption on the surface of V@CoO-BC; (ii) enhancing the electron transfer efficiency between V@CoO-BC and PMS; (iii) activating PMS with V3+ species; (iv) accelerating the circulation of Co2+ and Co3+, leading to the enhanced yield of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Furthermore, the V@CoO-BC/PMS system also exhibited satisfactory stability under broad pH (3–9) and good efficiency in the presence of co-existing components (HCO3−, NO3−, Cl−, and HA) in water. This study provides new insights to designing high-performance, environment-friendly bimetal catalysts and some basis for the remediation of antibiotic contaminants with SR-AOPs. Recently, image inpainting techniques tend to be more concerned with how to enhance the quality of restoration than with how to function on various platforms with limited processing power. In this paper, we propose a lightweight method that combines group convolution and attention mechanism to improve or replace the traditional convolution module. Group convolution was used to achieve multi-level image inpainting, and the authors proposed the rotating attention mechanism for allocation to deal with the issue of information mobility between channels in traditional convolution processing. The parallel discriminator structure was utilized throughout the network's overall design phase to guarantee both local and global consistency of the image inpainting process. The experimental results can demonstrate that, while the quality of image inpainting has been ensured, the proposed image inpainting network's inference time and resource usage are significantly lower than those of comparable lightweight approaches. Poisson white noise is a typical non-Gaussian noise that can induce stochastic resonance to detect feature signals submerged within it. In this paper, we propose a detection method for overdamped tri-stable stochastic resonance in Poisson white noise environment. Based on the model of over-damped tri-stable stochastic resonance. To begin with, the influence of the parameters of the tri-stable system on the potential function is studied. Then, the cross-correlation coefficient Csx is used to measure Poisson white noise under different pulse arrival rates β, system structural parameters a, b, c, and noise intensity D the law of action on system resonance. Ultimately, the system is successfully applied to the fault diagnosis of bearing under variable speed conditions and the background of Poisson white noise, and the simulation and experimental results are compared with the classical bistable system. This paper introduces an observation-driven integer-valued time series model, in which the underlying generating stochastic process is binomially distributed conditional on past information in the form of a hysteretic autoregressive structure. The basic probabilistic and statistical properties of the model are discussed. The traditional manual inspection mode is inefficient for detecting transmission line insulators. Even in the case of the detection system generated by combining aerial images by unmanned aerial vehicles with traditional machine vision algorithms, the detection accuracy and response speed have been increasingly unable to meet the requirements of modern power-grid construction. However, with the development of deep learning image processing technology, its deep level neural network can simulate the human brain to automatically extract the rich feature expression of the insulator image coupled with network training to quickly provide the final recognition results, improving the detection performance of the insulator defect detection technology based on this optimization method. Therefore, this study uses the deep learning object detection network YOLOX to classify and locate transmission line insulators. Accordingly, this study introduces the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) theory to optimize the YOLOX network, further enhancing the performance of the network model. The experimental results show that after introducing the CBAM, the detection accuracy of YOLOX on the insulator dataset herein has been improved by ~ 3% and the performance of the model has been optimized to some extent. In this study, four ZrNxOy coatings were deposited on the surface of Ti–45Nb alloy by multi-arc ion plating technology at different N/O ratios. The effects of oxygen content on the mechanical properties, wear resistance, electrochemical corrosion and tribocorrosion properties of the coatings were investigated separately. As the increasing of O2 ratio, the hardness value decreases from 30.2 to 9.7 GPa; the Young's modulus values decrease from 322.1 to 172.2 GPa. The H/E and H3/E2 values showed a decreasing trend with the increasing O2, which indicates a gradual decrease in the load-bearing capacity of the coatings. The critical load of these coatings in scratch test ranges from 12 N, 7.2 N, 5 N to 3N. In the friction test, both the TiNb alloy and coating exhibited predominantly abrasive and adhesive wear. The relatively low wear rate of the ZrN coating demonstrated its excellent wear resistance; however, the wear-resisting property of the ZrNxOy coating gradually decreases as the oxygen content increases, and ZrO2 coating showed the poorest wear resistance. On the contrary, the higher the oxygen content, the better the electrochemical corrosion resistance, and ZrO2 coating showed the excellent corrosion resistance. The results of tribocorrosion test show that the ZrNxOy coating has better wear resistance in simulated body fluid solution compared to Ti–Nb alloys. The experimental results and design concepts of the paper can provide a better understanding of the preparation of medical titanium alloy surface functional coatings with good comprehensive performance. As the imported cross-border e-commerce market is getting more competitive nowadays, the free shipping strategy, as a unique service model, plays an important role in the market share competition. Formulating a free shipping strategy to enable companies to obtain more orders and make more profits has become one of the imperative concerns of cross-border e-commerce companies. We will analyze the impact of increasing the free shipping threshold on consumer behavior and corporate profits, combine the free shipping solutions of four large cross-border e-commerce companies in the China, consider more realistic factors (i.e., commodity prices, order distribution, market competition, consumer characteristics), build a consumer purchase decision model and a consumer increase purchase model based on consumer decision theory, and provide decision support for its selection of a suitable free shipping strategy based on the real operating data of the cross-border e-commerce platform. The results indicate that raising the free shipping threshold within a certain range can help increase a company's average order price and gross profit margin as well as reduce corporate costs. However, an excessively high free shipping threshold weakens the stimulus for consumers to increase purchases and decreases the customer conversion rate. The closer the order price is to the free shipping threshold, the more likely it is that consumers will increase their purchases; the further the order price is from the free shipping threshold, the more likely it is that consumers will pay the shipping fee. Game-based learning, which includes non-digital and digital games, highlights the benefits of games in terms of players' learning and engagement. Whereas contemporary research focuses more on digital than non-digital game-based learning, more studies shall compare the effects between the two types of game-based learning and their integration. This study adopts a design research approach to designing and evaluating a board game and the board game integrated with its digital game for developing spatial reasoning abilities. The games were designed with the enactivist perspective on learning. A total of 94 fifth graders participated in four different experimental groups. It was found that the four experimental groups significantly enhanced their spatial reasoning abilities. The two groups of the digital game prior to the board game and prior to as well as posterior to the board game reported significantly more engagement than the other two groups. The results suggest that the board game integrated with the digital game as a warm-up activity is mostly conducive to enhancing spatial reasoning abilities and to facilitating more engagement. Coiled-coil domain-containing 58 (CCDC58) is a member of the CCDC protein family. Similar to other members, CCDC58 exhibits potential tumorigenic roles in a variety of malignancies. However, there is no systematic and comprehensive pan-cancer analysis to investigate the diagnosis, prognosis, immune infiltration, and other related functions of CCDC58. We used several online websites and databases, such as TCGA, GTEx, UALCAN, HPA, CancerSEA, BioGRID, GEPIA 2.0, TIMER 2.0, and TISIDB, to extract CCDC58 expression data and clinical data of patients in pan-cancer. Then, the relationship between CCDC58 expression and diagnosis, prognosis, genetic alterations, DNA methylation, genomic heterogeneity, and immune infiltration level were determined. In addition, the biological function of CCDC58 in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC) was investigated. Pan-cancer analysis results showed that CCDC58 was differentially expressed in most tumors and showed excellent performance in diagnosis and prediction of prognosis. The expression of CCDC58 was highly correlated with genetic alterations, DNA methylation, and genomic heterogeneity in some tumors. In addition, the correlation analysis of CCDC58 with the level of immune infiltration and immune checkpoint marker genes indicated that CCDC58 might affect the composition of the tumor immune microenvironment. Enrichment analysis showed that CCDC58-related genes were mainly linked to mitosis, chromosome, and cell cycle. Finally, biological function experiments demonstrated that CCDC58 plays an important role in tumor cell proliferation and migration. CCDC58 was first identified as a pan-cancer biomarker. The large squeezing deformation is a characteristic disaster in tunnel construction under complex geological conditions. This study presents a case study on the squeezing characteristics and support schemes used in the Zongsi tunnel, which is located in a carbonaceous shale stratum. The tunnel is situated in a well-known seismic zone in China, where intense geological activities result in broken surrounding rock, thereby making tunnel support difficult. First, the tunnel excavation method and potential problems related to squeezing were introduced. Second, the in situ monitoring was carried out to analyze the characteristics of tunnel deformation and the stress state of the supporting structures. Finally, the numerical inversion method was used to obtain the lateral pressure coefficient at the tunnel site, which was calculated based on the proportional relationship between horizontal and vertical displacements. Optimization measures and field tests for controlling the large squeezing deformation of the Zongsi tunnel were discussed. Various measures were adopted during field tests resulting in a decrease in the over-deformation ratio from 77.9 to 0.8%. The results reveal that effective measures to control large deformation consisted of optimizing the tunnel cross section based on the lateral pressure coefficient, providing adequate reserved deformation, enhancing the tunnel excavation method, and strengthening the supporting structure. In order to forecast possible injuries, machine learning algorithms may examine enormous volumes of data, such as an athlete's training regimen, medical history, and performance indicators. A new area of study called photonic quantum information has emerged as a result of recent advancements in technology enabling the production, control, and detection of individual single photons. Realising single photon switches, creating photonic quantum circuits with specialised uses, and using new photonic states for optical metrology that goes beyond conventional optics are some examples of this advancement. Based on the author's previous and present efforts, the current state of photonic quantum information technology is reviewed in this review paper. Sports medicine professionals will need to have a basic working understanding of the strengths in the future, much way doctors presently need to understand the business of medicine. Few studies have elaborated on how different types of integration can support teachers' learning and build their capacity to teach for the enhancement of students' STEM competence. Teaching in a STEM education context requires mathematics teachers to be able to effectively choose, design and implement appropriate tasks in their classes. Given the important role of teachers and tasks as vehicles for STEM education, this paper reviews literature on STEM teacher education programs associated with STEM tasks for preservice and in-service secondary mathematics teachers. After searching for and reviewing the 14 relevant articles, the analytical results indicated that (a) teachers' STEM knowledge and practices have not been commonly assessed as the outcomes of STEM teacher education programs, although they are explicitly counted as the goals of STEM teacher education programs; (b) the approach of multi-disciplinary concepts integrated with uni-disciplinary practice is mostly adopted as the approach to STEM integration; (c) task design features identified from the articles can be classified by elements of task design (i.e., goals, principles and instructional focus) and task design factors (i.e., disciplinary knowledge, cognition and metacognition, affect); and (d) most programs provide both acquisition and participation approaches to developing mathematics teachers' knowledge in STEM education. Background and aims: Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with lenvatinib and PD-1 inhibitors (triple therapy) exhibits promising efficacy for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC). We aimed to evaluate the prognosis of patients with uHCC who received triple therapy and develop a prognostic scoring model to identify patients who benefit the most from triple therapy. Methods: A total of 246 patients with uHCC who received triple therapy at eight centers were included and assigned to the training and validation cohorts. Prognosis was evaluated by the Kaplan–Meier curves. The prognostic model was developed by utilizing predictors of overall survival (OS), which were identified through the Cox proportional hazards model. Results: In the training cohort, the 3-year OS was 52.0%, with a corresponding progression-free survival (PFS) of 30.6%. The median PFS was 13.2 months [95% confidence interval, 9.7–16.7]. Three variables (total bilirubin ≥ 17 μmol/L, alpha-fetoprotein ≥ 400 ng/mL, and extrahepatic metastasis) were predictors of poor survival and were used for developing a prognostic model (TAE score). The 2-year OS rates in the favorable (0 points), intermediate (1 point), and dismal groups (2–3 points) were 96.9%, 61.4%, and 11.4%, respectively (p < 0.001). The PFS was also stratified according to the TAE score. These findings were confirmed in an external validation cohort. Conclusions: Triple therapy showed encouraging clinical outcomes, and the TAE score aids in identifying patients who would benefit the most from triple therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
