In the presence of I2, an acyloxyselenenylation of alkenes with diselenides and carboxylic acids is developed. This metal-free iodine-mediated acyloxyselenenylation proceeds efficiently under mild reaction conditions, affording a series of 2-acyloxy-1-selenides with high regioselectivity and in moderate to good yields. Nutrients’ concentration, phytoplankton biomass, and primary productivity were investigated in six coral atolls in the central South China Sea during the southwest monsoon in the early summer. Nutrients’ concentrations were generally very low in these atolls, and showed no obvious variation among outer reef slope, reef flat, and lagoon. The spatial variation of phytoplankton biomass and primary productivity were significant among the different regions of the atolls, and generally followed the order of outer reef slope < reef flat < lagoon. Phytoplankton biomass might be a more sensitive indicator than nutrients for the habitat differences in coral atoll ecosystem. The lagoon of Huangyan Atoll showed the highest phytoplankton biomass and primary productivity. The phytoplankton biomass and primary productivity were mainly contributed by pico-phytoplankton. Moreover, our results suggested that there might have a threshold value of Chl a for pico-phytoplankton abundance. When Chl a was higher than this threshold value (about 0.5 µg L−1), the pico-phytoplankton abundance should not linearly increase with the Chl a concentration. Multimode optical fiber is widely used because of its large core size, strong light-gathering ability, and remote on-line sensing ability in various environments. Due to the mode coupling and polarization loss, the signal curve obtained has wide full width at half-maximum (FWHM) and small peak value. Therefore, efficient methods to calculate the resonant wavelength are required. This paper presents a method to process the surface plasmon resonance curve (SPR) based on the Fourier series fitting. The calculated resonant wavelength is obtained with one-dimensional extremum-search method. Experiment results show the proposed method can accurately calculate the resonant wavelength of high concentration solution. Additionally, the method has higher sensitivity and is unaffected by the light source fluctuation. This method has potential value in processing the SPR signal of the multimode optical fiber. Fe-based amorphous and nanocrystalline coatings were fabricated by air plasma spraying. The coatings were further treated by laser remelting process to improve their microstructure and properties. The corrosion resistance of the as-sprayed and laser-remelted coatings in 3.5wt% NaCl and 1 mol/L HCl solutions was evaluated by electrochemical polarization analysis. It was found that laser-remelted coating appeared much denser than the as-sprayed coating. However, laser-remelted coating contains much more nanocrystalline grains than the as-sprayed coatings, resulting from the lower cooling rate in laser remelting process compared with plasma spraying process. Electrochemical polarization results indicated that the laser-remelted coating has great corrosion resistance than the as-sprayed coating because of its dense structure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
