There is still a paucity of research on the relationship between triglyceride-glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI) and long-term all-cause and cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The objective of this study was to explore the relationship between the TyG-BMI index and mortality rate and to determine valuable predictive factors for the survival status of this population. Data were obtained from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES 2001–2018) and the National Death Index (NDI). We used multivariate Cox regression and restricted cubic spline (RCS) to analyze the link between the TyG-BMI index and all-cause and CVD mortality. Subgroup analysis was conducted according to age, gender, race, education and poverty. In addition, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were utilized to assess the differentiation of the TyG-BMI index in predicting mortality. A total of 3089 individuals were enrolled. Over a median follow-up period of 81 months, 1097 individuals passed away. The RCS analysis revealed a U-shaped link between the TyG-BMI index and all-cause and CVD mortality. The ROC curve indicated that the TyG-BMI index has a stronger diagnostic effect than the TyG index. Subgroup analysis results demonstrated that the TyG-BMI index was more significantly correlated with all-cause and CVD mortality rates in elderly patients. In the American population, a U-shaped association was discovered between the baseline TyG-BMI index and all-cause and cardiovascular mortality rates in CKD patients. Phenolic compounds have long captivated the interest of organic synthesis, particularly in their quest for selective hydroxylation of arenes using H2O as a hydroxyl source. However, the inherent high reactivity and low redox potential of phenols often lead to undesirable overoxidation byproducts. To address this challenge, herein, we develop an electrophotochemical approach, finetuning substrate oxidative potential and enabling para-selective hydroxylation of anilides. This method showcases versatility, accommodating a wide array of substrates, while revealing high regional selectivity and compatibility with diverse functional groups. Moreover, the protocol allows facile late-stage functionalization of biologically active molecules. Mechanistic investigations demonstrate the activation of anilides by the excited state photocatalyst, effectively decreasing their oxidative potential and enhancing regional selectivity during hydroxylation. By using this protocol, important drug molecules such as Paracetamol, Fenretinide, Practolol, and AM404 could be synthesized, demonstrating the applicability of this approach in drug synthesis and late-stage functionalization. Automatic apple harvesting robots have received much research attention in recent years to lower harvesting costs. A fundamental problem for harvesting robots is how to quickly and accurately detect branches to avoid collisions with limited hardware resources. In this paper, we propose a lightweight, high-accurate and real-time semantic segmentation network, Bilateral U-shape Network (BUNet), to segment apple tree branches. The BUNet consists mainly of a U-shaped detail branch and a U-shaped semantic branch, the former for capturing spatial details and the latter for supplementing semantic information. These two U-shape branches complement each other, keeping the high accuracy of the Encoder-decoder Backbone while maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the Two-pathway Backbone. In addition, a Simplified Attention Fusion Module (SAFM) is proposed to effectively fuse different levels of information from two branches for pixel-by-pixel prediction. Experimental results show (on our own constructed dataset) that BUNet achieves the highest Intersection over Union (IoU) and F1-score of 75.96% and 86.34%, respectively, with minimum parameters of 0.93M and 11.94G Floating-point of Operations (FLOPs) in branch segmentation. Meanwhile, BUNet achieves a speed of 110.32 Frames Per Second (FPS) with input image size of 1280 × 720 pixels. Glaucoma is a group of diseases characterized by the degeneration of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and progressive, irreversible vision loss. High intraocular pressure (IOP) heightens the likelihood of glaucoma and correlates with RGC loss. While the current glaucoma therapy prioritizes lower the IOP; however, RGC, and visual loss may persist even when the IOP is well-controlled. As such, discovering and creating IOP-independent neuroprotective strategies for safeguard RGCs is crucial for glaucoma management. Investigating and clarifying the mechanism behind RGC death to counteract its effects is a promising direction for glaucoma control. Empirical studies of glaucoma reveal the role of multiple regulated cell death (RCD) pathways in RGC death. This review delineates the RCD of RGCs following IOP elevation and optic nerve damage and discusses the substantial benefits of mitigating RCD in RGCs in preserving visual function. Background: Neuroblastoma (NBL) is an extracranial malignant tumor in children deriving from the neural crest in the sympathetic nervous system. Although various immunotherapy interventions have made significant breakthroughs in many adult cancers, the efficacy of these immunotherapies was still limited in NBL. NBL has low immunogenicity which results in a lack of tumor-infiltrating T lymphocytes in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Moreover, tumor cells can wield many immune evasion strategies both in the TME and systemically to impede lymphocyte infiltration and activation. All these factors hamper the anti-tumor effects of CD8+ T cells during immunotherapy and the levels of infiltrating CD8+ T cells correlate with therapy response. Materials and methods: In this study, we utilized multidimensional bioinformatic methods to establish a risk model based on CD8+ T cells -related genes (CD8+ TRGs). Results: We obtained 33 CD8+ TRGs with well-predictive ability for prognosis in both GSE49711 and E-MTAB-8248 cohorts. Then, 12 CD8+ TRGs including HK2, RP2, HPSE, ELL2, GFI1, SLC22A16, FCGR3A, CTSS, SH2D1A, RBP5, ATF5, and ADAM9 were finally identified for risk model construction and validation. This model revealed a stable performance in prognostic prediction of the overall survival (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) in patients with NBL. Additionally, our research indicated that the immune and stromal scores, immune-related pathways, immune cell infiltration, the expression of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) and immune checkpoint molecules, immunotherapy response, and drug susceptibility revealed significant differences between high and low-risk groups. Conclusions: According to our analyses, the constructed CD8+ TRGs-based risk model may be promising for the clinical prediction of anti-tumor therapy responses and prognoses in NBL. Efficient and accurate detection of apples is critical for the successful implementation of harvesting robots in orchards. However, due to limited memory resources on robotic platforms, it is imperative to develop lightweight detection algorithms that can operate in real-time. To address this challenge, we propose an ultralight convolutional neural network, U-DPnet, based on depth-separable convolution. Our approach incorporates the cross-stage deep separable module (CDM) and the multi-cascade deep separable module (MDM) in the backbone for nonlinear unit addition and attention mechanisms, which reduce the volume of the network while improving the feature representation capability. A simplified bi-directional feature pyramid network (BiFPN) is constructed in the neck for multi-scale feature fusion, and Adaptive feature propagation (AFP) is designed between the neck and the backbone for smooth feature transitions across different scales. To further reduce the network volume, we develop a uniform channel downsampling and network weight-sharing strategy. Multiple loss functions and label assignment strategies are used to optimize the training process. The performance of U-DPnet is verified on a homemade Apple dataset. Experimental results demonstrate that U-DPnet achieves detection accuracy and speed comparable to that of the 7 SOTA models. Diagnostic and therapeutic illumination on internal organs and tissues with high controllability and adaptability in terms of spectrum, area, depth, and intensity remains a major challenge. Here, we present a flexible, biodegradable photonic device called iCarP with a micrometer scale air gap between a refractive polyester patch and the embedded removable tapered optical fiber. ICarP combines the advantages of light diffraction by the tapered optical fiber, dual refractions in the air gap, and reflection inside the patch to obtain a bulb-like illumination, guiding light towards target tissue. We show that iCarP achieves large area, high intensity, wide spectrum, continuous or pulsatile, deeply penetrating illumination without puncturing the target tissues and demonstrate that it supports phototherapies with different photosensitizers. We find that the photonic device is compatible with thoracoscopy-based minimally invasive implantation onto beating hearts. These initial results show that iCarP could be a safe, precise and widely applicable device suitable for internal organs and tissue illumination and associated diagnosis and therapy. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide. Although epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) have dramatically improved the life expectancy of patients with NSCLC, concerns about TKI-induced cardiotoxicities have increased. AC0010, a novel third-generation TKI, was developed to overcome drug resistance induced by EGFR-T790M mutation. However, the cardiotoxicity of AC0010 remains unclear. To evaluate the efficacy and cardiotoxicity of AC0010, we designed a novel multifunctional biosensor by integrating microelectrodes (MEs) and interdigital electrodes (IDEs) to comprehensively evaluate cell viability, electrophysiological activity, and morphological changes (beating of cardiomyocytes). The multifunctional biosensor can monitor AC0010-induced NSCLC inhibition and cardiotoxicity in a quantitative, label-free, noninvasive, and real-time manner. AC0010 was found to significantly inhibit NCI-H1975 (EGFR-L858R/T790M mutation), while weak inhibition was found for A549 (wild-type EGFR). Negligible inhibition was found in the viabilities of HFF-1 (normal fibroblasts) and cardiomyocytes. With the multifunctional biosensor, we found that 10 μM AC0010 significantly affected the extracellular field potential (EFP) and mechanical beating of cardiomyocytes. The amplitude of EFP continuously decreased after AC0010 treatment, while the interval decreased first and then increased. We analyzed the change in the systole time (ST) and diastole time (DT) within a beating interval and found that the DT and DT/beating interval rate decreased within 1 h after AC0010 treatment. This result probably indicated that the relaxation of cardiomyocytes was insufficient, which may further aggravate the dysfunction. Here, we found that AC0010 significantly inhibited EGFR-mutant NSCLC cells and impaired cardiomyocyte function at low concentrations (10 μM). This is the first study in which the risk of AC0010-induced cardiotoxicity was evaluated. The Arthrodermataceae, or dermatophytes, are a major family in the Onygenales and important from a public health safety perspective. Here, based on sequenced and downloaded from GenBank sequences, the evolutionary relationships of Arthrodermataceae were comprehensively studied via phylogenetic reconstruction, divergence time estimation, phylogenetic split network, and phylogeography analysis. These results showed the clades Ctenomyces, Epidermophyton, Guarromyces, Lophophyton, Microsporum, Paraphyton, and Trichophyton were all monophyletic groups, whereas Arthroderma and Nannizzia were polyphyletic. Among them, Arthroderma includes at least four different clades, Arthroderma I, III and IV are new clades in Arthrodermataceae. Nannizzia contains at least two different clades, Nannizzia I and Nannizzia II, but Nannizzia II was a new clade in Arthrodermataceae. The unclassified group, distributed in Japan and India, was incorrectly identified; it should be a new clade in Arthrodermataceae. The phylogenetic split network based on the ITS sequences provided strong support for the true relationships among the lineages in the reconstructed phylogenetic tree. A haplotype phylogenetic network based on the ITS sequences was used to visualize species evolution and geographic lineages relationships in all genera except Trichophyton. The new framework provided here for the phylogeny and taxonomy of Arthrodermataceae will facilitate the rapid identification of species in the family, which should useful for evaluating the results of preventive measures and interventions, as well as for conducting epidemiological studies. Low discharge capacity and poor cycle stability are the major obstacles hindering the operation of Li-O2 batteries with high-energy-density. These obstacles are mainly caused by the cathode passivation behaviours and the accumulation of by-products. Promoting the discharge process in solution and accelerating the decomposition of discharge products and by-products are able to alleviate above problems to some extent. Herein, chiral salen-Co(II) complex, (1R,2R)-(-)-N,N-bis(3,5-di-t-butylsalicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediaminocobalt(II) (Co(II)) as a multi-functional redox mediator was introduced into electrolyte to induce solution phase formation of Li2O2 and catalyze the oxidation of Li2O2 and main by-products Li2CO3. Due to the Co(II) has the solvation effect towards Li+, it can drive solution phase formation of Li2O2, to prevent electrode from passivation and then increase the discharge capacity with a high Li2O2 yield of 96.09 %. Furthermore, the Co(II) possesses suitable redox couple potentials, and it does so while simultaneously boosting the oxidization of Li2O2 and the decomposition of Li2CO3, reducing charge overpotential, and promoting cycle lifespan. Thereby, a cell with Co(II) achieved a long cycling stability at low charge plateau (3.66 V) over 252 cycles with a specific capacity of 500 mAh·gcarbon−1. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Integrated electrochemical sensing platforms in wearable devices have great prospects in biomedical applications. However, traditional electrochemical platforms are generally fabricated on airtight printed circuit boards, which lack sufficient flexibility, air permeability, and conformability. Liquid metals at room temperature with excellent mobility and electrical conductivity show high promise in flexible electronics. This paper presents a miniaturized liquid metal-based flexible electrochemical detection system on fabric, which is intrinsically flexible, air-permeable, and conformable to the body. Taking advantage of the excellent fluidity and electrical connectivity of liquid metal, a double-layer circuit is fabricated that significantly miniaturizes the size of the whole system. The linear response, time stability, and repeatability of this system are verified by resistance, stability, image characterization, and potassium ferricyanide tests. Finally, glucose in sweat can be detected at the millimolar level using this sensing system, which demonstrates its great potential for wearable and portable detection in biomedical fields, such as health monitoring and point-of-care testing. 2D MXene-Ti3C2Tχ has demonstrated promising application prospects in various fields; however, it fails to function properly in biosensor setups due to restacking and anodic oxidation problems. To expand beyond these existing limitations, an effective strategy to for modifying the MXene by covalently grafting first-generation poly(amidoamine) dendrimers onto an MXene in situ (MXene@PAMAM) was reported herein. When used as a conjugated template, the MXene not only preserved the high conductivity but also conferred a specific 2D architecture and large specific surface areas for anchoring PAMAM. The PAMAM, an efficient spacer and stabilizer, simultaneously suppressed the substantial restacking and oxidation of the MXene, which endowed this hybrid with improved electrochemical performance compared to that of the bare MXene in terms of favorable conductivity and stability under anodic potential. Moreover, the massive amino terminals of PAMAM offer abundant active sites for adsorbing Au nanoparticles (AuNPs). The resulting 3D hierarchical nanoarchitecture, AuNPs/MXene@PAMAM, had advanced structural merits that led to its superior electrochemical performance in biosensing. As a proof of concept, this MXene@PAMAM-based nanobiosensing platform was applied to develop an immunosensor for detecting human cardiac troponin T (cTnT). A fast, sensitive, and highly selective response toward the target in the presence of a [Fe(CN)6]3−/4− redox marker was realized, ensuring a wide detection of 0.1–1000 ng/mL with an LOD of 0.069 ng/mL. The sensor's signal only decreased by 4.38% after 3 weeks, demonstrating that it exhibited satisfactory stability and better results than previously reported MXene-based biosensors. This work has potential applicability in the bioanalysis of cTnT and other biomarkers and paves a new path for fabricating high-performance MXenes for biomedical applications and electrochemical engineering. Background: FOXA1 is a pioneer transcription factor which has been established as a carcinogenic factor and can regulate the expression of downstream target genes in breast cancer. We hypothesized that genetic variants modulating FOXA1 expression might play a role in the risk of breast cancer. Methods: Physical interaction predicted by PreSTIGE analysis and CHIA-PET data integration with cis-expression quantitative trait loci (cis-eQTL) based SNP-FOXA1 analysis were used to identify potentially regulatory variants modulating the expression of FOXA1. Then, we utilized a case–control study consisting of 855 new diagnosed breast cancer cases and 920 controls in the Chinese population to identify breast cancer associated variants. Biological assays were conducted in breast cancer cell lines to illustrate the effects of associated variants on breast cancer risk. Results: We identified that rs7160774 G > A variant was associated with lower risk of breast cancer (OR = 0.77, 95% confidence interval = 0.62–0.96, P = 0.022). Biological experiments indicated that rs7160774[A] allele down-regulated the expression of FOXA1 compared to the G allele by influencing transcription factor binding affinity, thus playing an important role in the development of breast cancer. Conclusion: Our study suggested that the regulatory variant rs7160774 was associated with risk of breast cancer by long-range modulating FOXA1 expression and provided critical insights into pinpoint causal genetic variants. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Yangyin Yiqi Huoxue Granule (养阴益气活血颗粒, YYHG) in the treatment of ischemic stroke (IS) patients with qi-yin deficiency and blood stasis syndrome (QYDBSS), and to explore its effective dosage. Methods: The total of 288 patients were randomly assigned to the YYHG high-dose, YYHG low-dose, positive control (administered Xiaoshuantong Granule, XSTG, 消栓通颗粒), or placebo control (administered inert granule) groups (72 cases per group) by software-drived competitive block randomization. The trial was conducted for a 28-day period, with a 180-day follow-up period. The primary outcome was the comprehensive curative evaluation, and secondary outcomes were the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score, Barthel activities of daily living (ADL) index score, the quality of life index (QLI) score, and the Chinese medicine syndrome (CMS) score. All analyses were done on an intention-to-treat basis. The clinical safety was also assessed. Results: The total of 288 participants were recruited between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009, and 287 patients received intervention; the treatment groups were well balanced at baseline. The comprehensive cure rates of YYHG high-dose, low-dose, positive and placebo control groups were 63.38%, 31.94%, 36.11% and 6.14%, respectively; there was a statistical difference between the two groups (P<0.01), while the high-dose YYHG treatment group was significantly higher than the other 3 groups (P<0.01). The improvement of NIHSS, ADL, QLI and CMS scores of the YYHG high-dose and low-dose groups was significantly better than that of the positive control group and the placebo control group (P<0.05). In terms of improving the classification of the NIHSS scale and the assessment of the ADL scale, the YYHG high-dose group was significantly better than the other three groups (P<0.05), and the YYHG low-dose group was better than the placebo control group (P<0.01). At the same time, except for the QLI score, the high-dose group was better than the low-dose group (P<0.05). In terms of safety, adverse reactions after YYHG treatment were generally mild (3.78%), and no serious adverse reactions have been reported. Simplicillium species are commonly found from soil, seawater, rock surface, decayed wood, air and as symbiotic, endophytic, entomopathogenic and mycoparasitic fungi. Minority insect-associated species was reported. Simplicillium coccinellidae, S. hymenopterorum, S. neolepidopterorum and S. scarabaeoidea were introduced as the newly insect-associated species. The phylogenetic analyses of two combined datasets (LSU + RPB1 + TEF and SSU + ITS + LSU) revealed that S. coccinellidae and S. hymenopterorum were both nested in an independent clade. S. neolepidopterorum and S. scarabaeoidea have a close relationship with S. formicidae and S. lepidopterorum, respectively. S. neolepidopterorum can be easily distinguished from S. formicidae by ellipsoidal to cylindrical, solitary conidia which occasionally gather in short imbricate chains. S. scarabaeoidea could be easily distinguished from S. lepodopterorum by having longer phialides and larger conidia. Based on the morphological and phylogenetic conclusion, we determine the four newly generated isolates as new species of Simplicillium and a new combination is proposed in the genus Leptobacillium. Cardiovascular diseases have emerged as a significant threat to human health. However, drug development is a time-consuming and costly process, and few drugs pass the preclinical assessment of safety and efficacy. The existing patch-clamp, Ca2+ imaging, and microelectrode array technologies in cardiomyocyte models for drug preclinical screening have suffered from issues of low throughput, limited long-term assessment, or inability to synchronously and correlatively analyze electrical and mechanical signals. Here, we develop a high-content, dose-quantitative and time-dependent drug assessment platform based on an electrical-mechanical synchronized (EMS) biosensing system. This microfabricated EMS can record both firing potential (FP) and mechanical beating (MB) signals from cardiomyocytes and extract a variety of characteristic parameters from these two signals (FP–MB) for further analysis. This system was applied to test typical ion channel drugs (lidocaine and isradipine), and the dynamic responses of cardiomyocytes to the tested drugs were recorded and analyzed. The high-throughput characteristics of the system can facilitate simultaneous experiments on a large number of samples. Furthermore, a database of various cardiac drugs can be established by heat map analysis for rapid and effective screening of drugs. Never in mitosis gene A–related kinase 2 (NEK2) has been recognized as an oncogene involved in the initiation and progression of various human cancers. However, our knowledge is still lacking in regard to the function of NEK2 in gastric cancer, the most common cancer in Eastern Asia associated with poor prognosis. Therefore, in the present study, we investigated the association of NEK2 with gastric cancer. We found that the development of gastric cancer is associated with NEK2 overexpression, particularly in patients with large tumor size and lymph node metastasis. We also provided evidence that NEK2 overexpression binds to and inhibits protein phosphatase 1 (PP1), which subsequently activates AKT and the downstream oncogenic pathways. As a result, via AKT/HIF1α axis, the glucose metabolism is reprogrammed towards aerobic glycolysis to provide rapid energy for the growth of gastric cancer cells. Moreover, the autophagic activity is suppressed via AKT/mTOR axis, leading to impaired response to cancer treatment and enhanced cell survival. In contrast, inactivating AKT by NEK2 silencing decreases aerobic glycolysis and promotes autophagic cell death, which eventually inhibits the growth of gastric cancer cell. All these results revealed that NEK2 promotes gastric cancer progression via activating AKT-mediated signaling pathways, which expanded our knowledge on gastric cancer pathogenesis and also provided novel target for clinical treatment. The structure of agricultural industries at Cross-Strait differs as climate change is considered. In fact, its influence on their agriculture and other industries vary when the impact produced by natural disasters due to climate change are faced. To estimate direct and indirect losses caused by natural disasters, this study applies Inter-Country Input-Output (ICIO) analysis developed by Miller and Blair (2009) to discuss the development among Cross-Strait industries as they face disaster losses. The data sources used in this article are from Lin (2013), Cross-Strait ICIO table, and the statistics of agriculture in the periods 2005–2017 for Taiwan and Mainland China. The main results from our ICIO analysis are as follows: the value-added losses caused by natural disasters mainly involve agriculture, forestry, fishery, wholesale and retail trade, animal feed, and chemical fertilizer industries. In recent decades, three-dimensional (3D) cancer cell models have attracted increasing interest in the field of drug screening due to their significant advantages in more accurate simulations of heterogeneous tumor behavior in vivo compared to two-dimensional models. Furthermore, drug sensitivity testing based on 3D cancer cell models can provide more reliable in vivo efficacy prediction. The gold standard fluorescence staining is hard to achieve real-time and label-free viability monitoring in 3D cancer cell models. In this study, a microgroove impedance sensor (MGIS) was specially developed for the dynamic and noninvasive monitoring of 3D cell viability. 3D cancer cells were trapped in microgrooves with gold electrodes on opposite walls for in situ impedance measurement. The change in the number of live cells caused inversely proportional changes to the impedance magnitude of the entire cell/Matrigel construct and reflected the proliferation and apoptosis of the 3D cells. It was confirmed that the 3D cell viability detected by the MGIS was highly consistent with the standard live/dead staining by confocal microscope characterization. Furthermore, the accuracy of the MGIS was validated quantitatively using a 3D lung cancer model and sophisticated drug sensitivity testing. In addition, the parameters of the MGIS in the measurement experiments were optimized in detail using simulations and experimental validation. The results demonstrated that the MGIS coupled with 3D cell culture would be a promising platform to improve the efficiency and accuracy of cell-based anticancer drug screening in vitro. The near-infrared-IIb (NIR-IIb) (1,500–1,700 nm) window is ideal for deep-tissue optical imaging in mammals, but lacks bright and biocompatible probes. Here, we developed biocompatible cubic-phase (α-phase) erbium-based rare-earth nanoparticles (ErNPs) exhibiting bright downconversion luminescence at ~1,600 nm for dynamic imaging of cancer immunotherapy in mice. We used ErNPs functionalized with cross-linked hydrophilic polymer layers attached to anti-PD-L1 (programmed cell death-1 ligand-1) antibody for molecular imaging of PD-L1 in a mouse model of colon cancer and achieved tumor-to-normal tissue signal ratios of ~40. The long luminescence lifetime of ErNPs (~4.6 ms) enabled simultaneous imaging of ErNPs and lead sulfide quantum dots emitting in the same ~1,600 nm window. In vivo NIR-IIb molecular imaging of PD-L1 and CD8 revealed cytotoxic T lymphocytes in the tumor microenvironment in response to immunotherapy, and altered CD8 signals in tumor and spleen due to immune activation. The cross-linked functionalization layer facilitated 90% ErNP excretion within 2 weeks without detectable toxicity in mice. In this paper, we present the application of a new method measuring Hubble parameter H(z) by using the anisotropy of luminosity distance ( d L ) of the gravitational wave (GW) standard sirens of neutron star (NS) binary system. The method has never been put into practice so far due to the lack of the ability of detecting GW. However, LIGO's success in detecting GW of black hole (BH) binary system merger announced the potential possibility of this new method. We apply this method to several GW detecting projects, including Advanced LIGO (aLIGO), Einstein Telescope (ET) and DECIGO, and evaluate its constraint ability on cosmological parameters of H(z). It turns out that the H(z) by aLIGO and ET is of bad accuracy, while the H(z) by DECIGO shows a good one. We simulate H(z) data at every 0.1 redshift span using the error information of H(z) by DECIGO, and put the mock data into the forecasting of cosmological parameters. Compared with the previous data and method, we get an obviously tighter constraint on cosmological parameters by mock data, and a concomitantly higher value of Figure of Merit (FoM, the reciprocal of the area enclosed by the 2 σ confidence region). For a 3-year-observation by standard sirens of DECIGO, the FoM value is as high as 170.82. If a 10-year-observation is launched, the FoM could reach 569.42. For comparison, the FoM of 38 actual observed H(z) data (OHD) is 9.3. We also investigate the undulant universe, which shows a comparable improvement on the constraint of cosmological parameters. Theranostic nanoparticles are integrated systems useful for simultaneous diagnosis and imaging guided delivery of therapeutic drugs, with wide ranging potential applications in the clinic. Here we developed a theranostic nanoparticle (~ 24 nm size by dynamic light scattering) p-FE-PTX-FA based on polymeric micelle encapsulating an organic dye (FE) fluorescing in the 1,000-1,700 nm second near-infrared (NIR-II) window and an anti-cancer drug paclitaxel. Folic acid (FA) was conjugated to the nanoparticles to afford specific binding to molecular folate receptors on murine breast cancer 4T1 tumor cells. In vivo, the nanoparticles accumulated in 4T1 tumor through both passive and active targeting effect. Under an 808 nm laser excitation, fluorescence detection above 1,300 nm afforded a large Stokes shift, allowing targeted molecular imaging tumor with high signal to background ratios, reaching a high tumor to normal tissue signal ratio (T/NT) of (20.0 ± 2.3). Further, 4T1 tumors on mice were completed eradicated by paclitaxel released from p-FE-PTA-FA within 20 days of the first injection. Pharmacokinetics and histology studies indicated p-FE-PTX-FA had no obvious toxic side effects to major organs. This represented the first NIR-II theranostic agent developed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Yinhuapinggan granule (YHPG), a modified prescription based on Ma-Huang-Tang (MHT), is used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to treat influenza, cough, and viral pneumonia. In this study, we investigated the antiviral effects of YHPG by means of pre-, post-, and co-treatment, and its underlying mechanisms on regulating the levels of inflammatory-related cytokines, modulating the mRNA expressions of interferon-stimulated genes in influenza virus-infected murine macrophage cells (RAW264.7), and evaluating the protein expressions of key effectors in the Type I IFN and pattern recognition receptor (PRRs) signaling pathways. The results showed that YHPG markedly inhibited influenza virus (IFV) replication in pre-, post- and co-treatment assay, especially in post-treatment assay. Antiviral mechanisms studies revealed that YHPG (500 and 250 μg/mL) significantly up-regulated levels of IFN-β, IFN-stimulated genes (Mx-1, ISG-15 and ISG-56) compared with the IFV control group, while the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly down-regulated. Furthermore, western blot analysis results revealed that the protein expressions of the phosphorylated forms of TBK1, IRF3, ERK1/2, P38 MAPK and NF-κB p65 were significantly down-regulated in RAW264.7 cells with the YHPG (500 and 250 μg/mL) treatment, while the expression of the phosphorylated form of STAT1 was significantly enhanced. Based on these results, YHPG had antiviral effects in IFV-infected RAW264.7 cells, which might be associated with regulation of the inflammatory cytokines production, evaluation of the levels of IFN-stimulated genes, and modulation of the protein expressions of key effectors in the Type I IFN and PRRs signaling pathways. The microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-10Si-5Cu cast alloys with micro-addition of alloying elements (V, Cr and Ni) were studied before and after strontium addition. Samples were examined using the X-Ray diffraction, the optical microscope, the scanning electron microscope and the energy dispersive spectrometer. The results indicated that the α-Al matrix, eutectic Si phase and AlCu phase were the main constituent phases of Al-10Si-5Cu alloys before or after strontium addition. Strontium addition affected the refining of the α-Al grains and transforming the configuration of interdendritic phases. The un-modified alloy showed a brittle nature because of existing brittle and aggregated AlSiMnFe phases. Contributing to the alteration of microstructure in strontium modified alloy, the strength and elongation of the alloy were improved. A novel environment-friendly system is proposed to fabricate polymer brush, which has the advantages including non-toxic and inexpensive initiator (eosin Y), visible-light exposure ( λ = 515 nm), water medium and ambient environment. The experimental results from UV-Vis spectroscopy, AFM-based single molecule force spectroscopy (SMFS) and other measurements indicate that a polymer brush with a living nature is fabricated via free radical polymerization. Aims: The objectives of this study were to determine the partitioning pattern of recently fixed carbon in a plant-soil system and the difference in patterns of carbon flux between fenced and clipped grasslands in the Chinese Loess Plateau (CLP). Methods: We used an in situ C pulse labeling method and determined the plant biomass, carbon content and δC value in shoot, root and soil, in order to calculate the C amount in the plant-soil system. Results: Thirty days after labeling, the C incorporated into the shoots did not differ significantly between the fenced (30.6 % of recovered C) and clipped (27.0 %) grasslands. However, the amount of C remaining in the roots and soil in fenced grassland (roots, 9.2 %; soil, 14.7 %) was significantly higher than that in clipped grassland (roots, 2.0 %; soil, 2.5 %). By contrast, the total loss of assimilated C was significantly lower in fenced grassland (45.5 %) than that in clipped grassland (68.5 %). Conclusions: We demonstrate that clipping management results in a higher CO efflux and a lower C allocated belowground, which has a negative effect on carbon sequestration in typical grasslands in the semiarid CLP. Single-crystalline (NH)VO nanoflakes were successfully synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method. We investigated their electrochemical performance for use in lithium ion batteries for the first time. Interestingly, the as-prepared (NH)VO electrode demonstrated good lithium storage properties. This material exhibited a high initial discharge capacity of 261.4 mAh g at a current density of 150 mA g. Apart from the capacity loss in the first two cycles, the discharge capacity remained relatively stable and a capacity of 215.8 mAh g was maintained after 30 cycles, indicating good cycling stability. The Coulombic efficiency was close to 100 % during the cycling, revealing that the intercalation/deintercalation of Li ions in this material was highly reversible. The good electrochemical performance of (NH)VO was mainly attributed to its flake-like morphology and intrinsically stable layered structure. Objective: To observe the effects of Danhong Injection (丹红注射液) and its main components, including daiclzein and hydroxysafflor yellow A (HSYA), on the anticoagulation, fibrinolysis, anti-apoptosis in hypoxia model of vein endothelial cells (VECs). Methods: VECs were prepared and were put in a hypoxia environment, which consisted of mixed gas of 95% N and 5% CO mixed gas, when reached confluent culture. Five groups used different treatments, including normal control group, hypoxia group, daiclzein group, HSYA group and Danhong Injection group. The VECs were identified by fluorescence double labeling methods. The morphology was observed by a phase contrast microscopy. The effects of Danhong Injection, daiclzein and HSYA on 6 keto prostaglandin F1α (6-keto-PGF1α) level was measured by the method of radioimmunoassay (RIA). Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity was tested by water soluble tetrazolium salt. The content of malondialdehyde (MDA) was measured by thiobarbituric acid. The activities of tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI) were measured by the method of chromogenic substrate. The contents of endothelin (ET) and nitric oxide (NO) were detected by non-equilibrium RIA and enzymelinked immunosorbent assay. Cells apoptosis rate was determined by flow cytometry. Results: Compared with the normal control group, the floating cells number, PAI activity, ET and MDA contents, and cells apoptosis rate in the culture solution of hypoxia group were all significantly increased, whereas the 6-keto-PGF1α and NO contents, and t-PA and SOD activities were decreased significantly ( P<0.01). Compared with the hypoxia group, Danhong Injection markedly increased the 6-keto-PGF1α content and SOD activity, regulated PAI and t-PA activities, ET and NO contents, and decreased MDA content and cells apoptosis rate ( P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusions: Danhong Injection and its main components played an important role in protecting primary VECs from hypoxic damage by regulating the secretion and vasomotor function of VECs. Purpose: This report details our preliminary results of ventilation catheter-assisted airway stenting under local anaesthesia for airway stenosis. Materials and methods: Fifteen consecutive patients with airway stenosis underwent ventilation catheter-assisted airway stenting under local anaesthesia. A 4F angiographic catheter was used as the ventilation catheter. During the treatment, the distal tip of the ventilation catheter was placed across the stenosis into one of the main bronchi and the proximal tip of the catheter was linked to the oxygen tube for oxygen supplementation. Airway stenting was performed under ventilation support. Patients maintained autonomous respiration throughout the procedures. Data on technical success, clinical outcome and follow-up were collected and analysed. Results: Ventilation catheter-assisted airway stenting under local anaesthesia was technically successful and well tolerated in all patients. Respiratory difficulty was improved in all patients after treatment. The average Hugh-Jones classification grade, arterial oxygen saturation value, and respiratory rate improved from 4.20 ± 0.68, 80.60 ± 3.83 %, and 30.33 ± 2.02 times/min, respectively, before stenting to 1.47 ± 0.52 ( P < 0.001), 94.93 ± 1.33 % ( P < 0.001), and 18.07 ± 1.33 times/min ( P < 0.001), respectively, after stenting. After 2-11 months (average 5.73 ± 2.40 months) of follow-up, one patient experienced re-stenosis of the stent. The mean survival time of the 15 patients was 162.00 ± 71.60 days (range 55-320 days). This study develops a micro-tool condition monitoring system consisting of accelerometers on the spindle, a data acquisition and signal transformation module, and a backpropagation neural network. This study also discusses the effect of the sensor installations, selected features, and the bandwidth size of the features on the classification rate. To collect the vibration signals necessary for training the system model and verifying the system, an experiment was implemented on a micro-milling research platform along with a 700 μm diameter micro-end mill and a SK2 workpiece. A three-axis accelerometer was installed on a sensor plate attached to the spindle housing to collect vibration signals in three directions during cutting. The frequency domain features representing changes in tool wear were selected based on the class mean scatter criteria after transforming signals from the time domain to the frequency domain by fast Fourier transform. Using the appropriate vibration features, this study develops and tests a backpropagation neural network classifier. Results show that proper feature extraction for classification provides a better solution than applying all spectral features into the classifier. Selecting five features for classification provides a better classification rate than the case with four and three features along with the 30 Hz bandwidth size of the spectral feature. Moreover, combining the signals for tool condition from both direction signals provides a better classification rate than determining the tool condition using a one-direction single sensor. Based on the analysis of primary energy consumption structure in five main provinces or municipalities in China, the factors that affect carbon emissions in the five study areas are analyzed quantitatively and comparatively with the decomposition analysis method. Empirical results demonstrate that the decomposition models of carbon emissions can be defined as 'municipality model' and 'provincial model', and the population factor of 'municipal model' plays a significant role in carbon emissions than that of 'provincial model'. Either positive or negative effects of energy structure can be found in five different areas. However, there is a general trend that energy structure effort is becoming more and more important. The α-gliadins from Crithopsis delileana (Schult) Roshev (2n=2x=14, KK) were investigated by Acid polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (A-PAGE) analysis. It was indicated that the electrophoresis mobility of gliadins from C.delileana had obvious difference with those from common wheat in α, γ and ω region. Using primers designed from published sequences of α-gliadin genes, three α-gliadin genes were isolated from C. delileana, which were designated as gli-ka1, gli-ka2 and gli-ka3, respectively. Two in-frame stop codons were found in the coding sequences of gli-ka3, indicating that gli-ka3 could be a pseudogene. The gli-ka2 was a gliadin with an odd number of cysteines, resulting from a non-synonymous mutation. This change might lead to the interactive behavior of gli-ka2. Three α-gliadin genes of C. delileana had the similar but not identical primary structures to the corresponding gene sequences from other wheat related species. By the alignment of α-gliadin genes from Triticeae, phylogenetic analysis indicated that three α-gliadin genes of C. delileana clustered together with all α-gliadin genes from Ee genome of Lophopyrum elongatum by an interior paralleled branch. Okadaic acid (OA), a representative diarrhetic shellfish poisoning toxin, mainly produced by toxigenic dinoflagellates, has significant hazard to public health. Traditional methods for detection of OA can not give the consideration to the need of rapid, high sensitive, quantitative and in-situ detection at the same time. Herein, a new effective detection method of OA was developed based on fluorescence immunosensor and flow cytometry (FCM). In this assay, Streptavidin-coated magnetic beads (MBs) were used as the supporter to immobilize the biotinylated OA. Modified MBs competed with the free OA in the sample solution to bind with the anti-OA monoclonal antibody (OA-MAb). The R-phycoerythrin (R-PE) dye labeled IgG was served as a secondary antibody to perform fluorescence detection. A portable flow cytometry was applied for the in-situ fluorescence quantification. The results showed that the OA concentration was inversely proportional to the R-PE fluorescence intensity. The detection method took within 50 min with a limit of detection (LOD) was 0.05 μg/L and range from 0.2 to 20 μg/L for OA detection. Moreover, the matrix effect and the recovery rate were assessed during real sample measurement, showing a high recovery. The spatially averaged inhomogeneous Universe includes a kinematical backreaction term QD that is relate to the averaged spatial Ricci scalar ⟨R⟩D in the framework of general relativity. Under the assumption that QD and ⟨R⟩D obey the scaling laws of the volume scale factor aD, a direct coupling between them with a scaling index n is remarkable. In order to explore the generic properties of a backreaction model for explaining the accelerated expansion of the Universe, we exploit two metrics to describe the late time Universe. Since the standard FLRW metric cannot precisely describe the late time Universe on small scales, the template metric with an evolving curvature parameter κD(t) is employed. However, we doubt the validity of the prescription for κD, which motivates us apply observational Hubble parameter data (OHD) to constrain parameters in dust cosmology. First, for FLRW metric, by getting best-fit constraints of ΩmD0=0.25-0.03+0.03, n=0.02-0.66+0.69, and HD0=70.54-3.97+4.24kms-1Mpc-1, the evolutions of parameters are explored. Second, in template metric context, by marginalizing over HD0 as a prior of uniform distribution, we obtain the best-fit values of n=-1.22-0.41+0.68 and ΩmD0=0.12-0.02+0.04. Moreover, we utilize three different Gaussian priors of HD0, which result in different best-fits of n, but almost the same best-fit value of ΩmD0∼0.12. Also, the absolute constraints without marginalization of parameter are obtained: n=-1.1-0.50+0.58 and ΩmD0=0.13±0.03. With these constraints, the evolutions of the effective deceleration parameter qD indicate that the backreaction can account for the accelerated expansion of the Universe without involving extra dark energy component in the scaling solution context. Enrichment of glycopeptides by hydrazide chemistry (HC) is a popular method for glycoproteomics analysis. However, possible side reactions of peptide backbones during the glycan oxidation in this method have not been comprehensively studied. Here, we developed a proteomics approach to locate such side reactions and found several types of the side reactions that could seriously compromise the performance of glycoproteomics analysis. Particularly, the HC method failed to identify N-terminal Ser/Thr glycopeptides because the oxidation of vicinal amino alcohol on these peptides generates aldehyde groups and after they are covalently coupled to HC beads, these peptides cannot be released by PNGase F for identification. To overcome this drawback, we apply a peptide N-terminal protection strategy in which primary amine groups on peptides are chemically blocked via dimethyl labeling, thus the vicinal amino alcohols on peptide N-termini are eliminated. Our results showed that this strategy successfully prevented the oxidation of peptide N-termini and significantly improved the coverage of glycoproteome. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
