Abstract

The article discusses research which was conducted to examine factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding intention during pregnancy among women in rural Bangladesh. Researchers evaluated 2,400 pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy. They found that 83.9% of the women reported that they had intentions to exclusively breastfeed their babies and that receiving breastfeeding counseling during pregnancy and being literate were associated with knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding.
