The possibility of frequency stabilization of two gyrotrons with similar parameters when part of their radiation is reflected from the common external high-Q resonator is demonstrated analytically. In stabilized regime, the frequencies of both gyrotrons are equal and change slightly when the eigenfrequencies of the gyrotron cavities change. The study is based on the equations of coupled oscillations of gyrotrons and an external resonator. The stability of equilibrium states has been researched. The permissible difference in the autonomous generation frequencies of gyrotrons has been found, at which stabilization of their frequency is possible. The analytical results are confirmed by numerical simulation using the example of gyrotrons with a megawatt power level and an operating frequency of 170 GHz. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
