Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is a heterogeneous disease with features that vary by ethnicity. A systematic characterization of the genomic landscape of Chinese ccRCC is lacking, and features of ccRCC associated with tumor thrombus (ccRCC-TT) remain poorly understood. Here, we applied whole-exome sequencing on 110 normal-tumor pairs and 42 normal-tumor-thrombus triples, and transcriptome sequencing on 61 tumor-normal pairs and 30 primary-thrombus pairs from 152 Chinese patients with ccRCC. Our analysis reveals that a mutational signature associated with aristolochic acid (AA) exposure is widespread in Chinese ccRCC. Tumors from patients with ccRCC-TT show a higher mutational burden and genomic instability; in addition, mutations in BAP1 and SETD2 are highly enriched in patients with ccRCC-TT. Moreover, patients with/without TT show distinct molecular characteristics. We reported the integrative genomic sequencing of Chinese ccRCC and identified the features associated with tumor thrombus, which may facilitate ccRCC diagnosis, prognosis and treatment. Magnetic molecularly imprinted nanoparticles (MMIPs) with improved dispersity and an increased number of adsorption sites are described. Uniform silica layers were first deposited on the surface of FeO nanoparticles (FeO NPs) in order to improve the dispersity of magnetic nanoparticles. Then, 4-formylphenylboronic acid (FPBA) as functional monomer was immobilized on the magnetic carriers to improve the efficiency of template eluting and rebinding. A thin layer of polyaniline imprinted with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) as a model glycoprotein was then placed on the magnetic nanoparticles to enhance the dispersity of the resultant MMIPs. These exhibit high adsorption capacity (62 mg g), a satisfactory imprinting factor ( 3.78) and short adsorption equilibrium time (40 min) toward HRP, and the limit of detection is 18.7 μg L. This kind of MMIPs, therefore, is deemed being a useful tool for extracting low-abundance glycoproteins from even complex samples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The first-principle study on double perovskite compound B a P r V O has been presented in this paper. By analysing band structures and integrated density of states, it is found that B a P r V O is ferromagnetic metallic within LSDA and compensated half metallic whithin LSDA + U. According to the total and partial density of states, the anti-ferromagnetism of B a P r V O is originated from the spin down state Pr (4 f ) and the spin up hybridized state between the partially filled t state of V and the partially filled triple-degeneration state 4 f , 4 f , 4 f of Pr. We have investigated the magnetic evaluation of B a P r V O through fixed spin moment calculations, and the results indicate that the compensated half-metallic state is the ground state. An image watermarking scheme is typically evaluated using three main conflicting characteristics: imperceptibility, robustness, and capacity. Developing a good image watermarking method is challenging because it requires a trade-off between these three basic characteristics. In this paper, we propose a statistical image watermark decoder in undecimated discrete wavelet transform-polar complex exponentiated transform magnitude domain, wherein a probability density function based on the exponentiated Cauchy–Rayleigh distribution is used, in view of the fact that this probability density function provides a better statistical match to the empirical probability density function of the robust undecimated discrete wavelet transform-polar complex exponentiated transform magnitudes of the image. In watermark embedding, we first perform the undecimated discrete wavelet transform on the carrier image. We then select the maximum energy subband and divide it into blocks, and compute the polar complex exponentiated transform for each block. Finally, we embed watermark in undecimated discrete wavelet transform-polar complex exponentiated transform magnitudes using nonlinear multiplicative approach. In the decoding process, we first analyze the robustness and statistical characteristics of undecimated discrete wavelet transform-polar complex exponentiated transform magnitudes. We then observe that, with a small number of parameters, the new exponentiated Cauchy–Rayleigh model can capture accurately the statistical distributions of the robust undecimated discrete wavelet transform-polar complex exponentiated transform magnitudes of the image. Meanwhile, statistical model parameters can be estimated effectively by using genetic simulated annealing based maximum likelihood approach. Motivated by our modeling results, we finally design a new statistical image watermark decoder using the exponentiated Cauchy–Rayleigh distribution and maximum likelihood decision rule. Experimental results on extensive test images demonstrate that the proposed watermark decoder provides a performance better than that of most of the state-of-the-art methods recently proposed in the literature. Boronate-affinity based molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are beset by the unsatisfied adsorption capacity and narrow working pH ranges. A magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer containing phenylboronic acid groups was placed on the surface of Fe3O4 (magnetite) microspheres coated with porous TiO2 (Fe3O4@pTiO2@MIP). In contrast to its silica analog (Fe3O4@SiO2@MIP), the flowerlike Fe3O4@pTiO2 offers more binding sites for templates. Thus, the adsorption capacity of the Fe3O4@pTiO2@MIP is strongly enhanced. The strong electron-withdrawing effects of Ti(IV) enable the boronic acid of the MIP to have better affinity for glycoproteins at a wide pH range from 6.0 to 9.0. Consequently, the Fe3O4@pTiO2@MIP exhibits higher adsorption for glycoproteins than Fe3O4@SiO2@MIP in both basic and acidic medium. The Fe3O4@pTiO2@MIPs were eluted with 5% acetic acid aqueous solution containing 30% acetonitrile, and the eluate was analyzed by MALDI-TOF MS. The method was applied to the selective extraction and quantitation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in spiked fetal bovine serum (FBS). The linear range is 0.40-10 μg·mL−1 with the limit of detection of 0.31 μg·mL−1.
