We explore the possibility of detecting the couplings of axion-like particle (ALP) with leptons from their loop-level impact on the ALP couplings to electroweak (EW) gauge bosons via the signal process at the circular electron positron collider (CEPC) and obtain prospective sensitivities to the ALP-lepton couplings. Our numerical results show that the CEPC with the center of mass energy s = 240 (91) GeV and the integrated luminosity L = 5.6 (16) ab - 1 might be sensitive for probing the ALP-lepton couplings in the ALP mass range from 10 GeV to 130 (50) GeV, where the prospective sensitivities to the ALP-neutrino coupling T r (g a ν ν) / f a can be as low as 0.016 (0.012) GeV - 1 and 0.0031 (2.8 × 10 - 4) GeV - 1 for c R = 0 and c R = c L , and to the ALP-charged lepton coupling T r (g a ℓ ℓ) / f a can be as low as 0.035 (0.07) GeV - 1 for c L = 0 . We find that the prospective sensitivities given by the CEPC are not covered by the current and expected exclusion regions in some ALP mass intervals. The CEPC has the potential for exploring the ALP-neutrino couplings via some promising processes induced by the ALP-EW gauge boson couplings in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Previous studies have demonstrated that depressive symptoms in adolescents were strongly associated with early life adversity (ELA). However, previous studies mainly considered the relationships between a single dimension of ELA and depressive symptoms, while the relationship between various types of ELA and depressive symptoms in adolescents needs further investigation. The present study investigated the interplay between depressive symptoms and different dimensions of ELA via network analysis. A total of 736 adolescents were recruited and answered questionnaires to assess their depressive symptoms and ELAs. The regularized partial correlation network analysis was utilized to examine the direct associations between ELAs and depressive symptoms after controlling for the influence of other variables. The network structure revealed that depressive symptoms were independently associated with each type of ELA, including childhood threat/harshness, childhood deprivation, and childhood unpredictability. Moreover, among all ELA variables, emotional abuse (i.e., threat/harshness dimension) was mostly associated with depressive symptoms and demonstrated the highest expected influence among all nodes in the network. A novel bacterial strain A7.6T was isolated from the sediments collected near the Zhairuo Island located in the East China Sea and characterized using a polyphasic approach. Cells were Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped, non-spore forming, non-flagellated but motile by gliding. The strain was aerobic, positive for oxidase and catalase activities. The strain can grow at 4-35 °C, pH 5.5-9.0, and 0-3% (w/v) NaCl concentration. The major polar lipid was phosphatidylethanolamine, the predominant fatty acids (> 10%) were iso-C15:0 and summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c). The genomic G+C content was 33.6 mol% and the major respiratory quinone was menaquinone 6. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain A7.6T belonged to the genus Flavobacterium and was closely related to Flavobacterium tistrianum GB 56.1T (98.4% similarity), F. nitrogenifigens NXU-44T (98.4%), F. ginsenosidimutans THG 01T (98.0%) and F. anhuiense D3T (97.7%). Average nucleotide identities and digital DNA-DNA hybridizations values for genomes ranged from 75.9 to 91.4% and 21.4 to 43.9% between strain A7.6T and its closest phylogenetic neighbors. The polyphasic characterization indicated that strain A7.6T represented a novel species of the genus Flavobacterium, for which the name Flavobacterium sharifuzzamanii is proposed. The type strain is A7.6T (= KCTC 62405T = MCCC 1K03485T). The NCBI GenBank accession number for the 16S rRNA gene of A7.6T is MH396692, and for the genome sequence is QJGZ00000000. Lime and Si fertilizer are effective amendments for alleviating Cd accumulation in crops. In this study, two Cd-polluted typical soils from different regions in China were sampled to conduct a pot experiment. The effects of two soil amendments [calcium oxide of quicklime (SH) and Si-Ca-Mg fertilizer (GF)] on the distribution of Cd fractions in soil with and without rice-planting treatment and on Cd uptake and accumulation in rice were investigated. The results showed that SH and GF application significantly reduced Cd accumulation in rice in YSS and GSS, and that the maximum Cd reduction in GSS reached 319 μg pot−1 with SH treatment. SH and GF significantly decreased and increased, respectively, the proportions of Acid-Cd and Res-Cd in the soil. Rice-planting treatment activated Res-Cd compared with no rice-planting treatment, and SH and GF restrained the remobilization process. Significant positive correlations were found between Res-Cd remobilization rates in soil and Cd content in brown rice. Multiple regression revealed that applying GF at dosages of 1.296 g kg−1 and 1.246 g kg−1 in YCS and GSS, respectively, was an ideal method to control soil acidity. This study highlighted the view that Res-Cd remobilization provoked by rice plays a considerable role in influencing Cd bioavailability in the soil, that soil type should be considered as a factor when applying soil amendments to contaminated soils, and that soil amendment dosages should vary according to soil type. A widely tunable microwave photonic notch filter with adjustable bandwidth based on multi-wavelength fiber laser is proposed and demonstrated. The multi-wavelength fiber laser generates the multi-taps of the microwave photonic filter (MPF). In order to obtain notch frequency response, a Fourier-domain optical processor (FD-OP) is introduced to control the amplitude and phase of the optical carrier and phase modulation sidebands. By adjusting the polarization controller (PC), different numbers of taps are got, such as 6, 8, 10 and 12. And the wavelength spacing of the multi-wavelength laser is 0.4 nm. The bandwidth of the notch filter is changed by adjusting the number of taps and the corresponding bandwidths are 4.41 GHz, 3.30 GHz, 2.64 GHz and 2.19 GHz, respectively. With the additional phase shift introduced by FD-OP, the notch position is continuously tuned in the whole free spectral range ( FSR) of 27.94 GHz. The total artificial heart (TAH) requires physiological control to respond to the metabolic demand of the body. To date, 1/R control is a single physiological control method that can control venous pressure. To realize an implantable 1/R control system, we are developing a new pressure measuring method using absolute pressure sensor. To find a method for absolute pressure sensor, which went well without calibration, concept of left atrial pressure (LAP) estimation using its pulsatile amplitude was proposed. Its possibility was investigated with two long-term survived goats whose hearts were replaced with the helical flow TAHs. In manual control condition, there existed a positive relation between mean LAP (mLAP) and normalized pulsatile amplitude (NPA). Percent systole revealed not to affect the relationship between mLAP and NPA. Dispersion was observed between different pulse rates. As for cardiac output difference (QLD) that is the difference of flow rate between systolic and diastolic phases, similar results were obtained except in low QLDs. In the 1/R control condition, relatively high correlation between mLAP and NPA could be obtained. In estimation of mLAP using the correlating function of individual goat, fairly good correlation was obtained between measured mLAP and estimated mLAP. Nanomechanical properties of multilayer films constructed of polyaniline (PANI) and azobeneze-containing polyelectrolytes (PNACN and PPAPE) were studied by using nanoindentation method. The multilayer films were prepared by the electrostatic layer-by-layer self-assembly through alternately dipping in the polymer solutions. The multilayer films deposited onto the glass slides after proper dry were used for the nanomechanical property testing. The nanomechanical measurement indicated that the PANI/PNACN and PANI/PPAPE multilayers possessed the mean elastic modulus of 5.42 GPa and 4.35 GPa, and hardness of 0.26 GPa and 0.18 GPa, respectively. The nanoscratch properties of the PANI/PNACN and PANI/PPAPE multilayer films were also measured. The critical loads of PANI/PNACN and PANI/PPAPE films were 103.52 mN and 100.59 mN. The degree of electrostatic cross-linking in the multilayers could be altered by exposing the films to aqueous solutions with different pH values. As a result, the modulus and hardness of the multilayer films were changed through the solvent treatment. Both modulus and hardness of the PANI/PNACN films obviously increased after dipping the multilayer films in solutions with pH in a range from 9 to 11. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The adaptive optics (AO) technology without a wave-front sensor is simple and has more application fields than conventional AO technologies. The theory basis of the AO system based on stochastic parallel gradient descent (SPGD) from the convergence, the stability, and the averaged convergence rate is analyzed, where SPGD is used to control the AO system. The results show that the AO system based on SPGD can obtain good convergence and stability, and the fast convergence rate, which is in inverse proportion to $$ \sqrt n $$ ( n is the number of control parameters).
