This paper is to explore the clinical effect of transvaginal single-port laparoscopic appendectomy, a minimally invasive technique for acute appendicitis. The clinical data of 8 lady cases with acute simple appendicitis undergoing transvaginal single-port laparoscopic appendectomy from May 2019 to September 2020 were analyzed. The process of the procedure and details were recorded, and its safety and feasibility are retrospectively analyzed. The operation of all 8 cases was successfully completed, with no case required conversion to routine laparoscopic or open surgery. The average operation time was (50.27 SD8.66) min. The average intraoperative bleeding was (2.77 SD0.90) ml. The average intestinal function recovery time was (8.87 SD3.94) h. The average hospitalization time was (3.86 SD0.74) day. And the average hospitalization cost was (1.28 SD0.10) thousand yuan. Besides, 24-h postoperative pain score, CRP and IL-6 were (2.66 SD0.89) mg/l, (40.93 SD5.56) mg/l, and (68.66 SD15.19) pg/ml, respectively. No postoperative complications were observed during hospital stay, but two patients developed complications after discharge, including one abdominal infection and one poor healing of the wound. Patients' satisfaction with their incision accounted for 87.5% after 1-month follow-up. And none of the patients had discomforts after 6-month follow-up, especially for sexual life. At the same time, patients' self-confidence was improved greatly. Traditional single-port laparoscopic approach is a safe and feasible method for transvaginal appendectomy, which broadens the path of appendectomy and avoids the drawbacks of transabdominal surgery. Besides, it is more minimally invasive, without scars on the skin, and has accurate cosmetic effect. The 1970 Tonghai earthquake, which occurred on January 5, 1970, in Tonghai County, Yunnan Province, China, triggered a large number of landslides. Since the occurrence of the earthquake, there have been a huge number of research reports on the seismogenic structure and earthquake mechanism, but rare reports on the seismic landslides. As the largest earthquake recorded in the Qujiang fault zone, the study on the coseismic landslides triggered by this earthquake are of great significance to the prevention and mitigation of earthquake-induced landslides in this region. In this study, we established a coseismic landslide inventory for the VIII–X seismic intensity areas of the Ms 7.7 Tonghai earthquake, and conducted spatial analysis on the coseismic landslides, mainly having analyzed the effect of the topographic factors, geological factors, and seismic factors on the development of the coseismic landslides. To enhance the understanding of this earthquake, we converted the earthquake epicenter and magnitude with empirical formulas based on the distributions and areas of the coseismic landslides. Comparing with coseismic landslides in other earthquake-hit areas, we found the capability that this earthquake could induce landslides is low. This study provides a useful supplement to the global coseismic landslide inventories and could be the basic data for seismic landslide assessment in this earthquake-prone region. On August 10, 2019, due to the effect of a rainstorm caused by Super Typhoon Lekima, a landslide occurred in Shanzao Village, China. It blocked the Shanzao stream, forming a barrier lake, and then the barrier lake burst. This is a rare natural disaster chain of typhoon-rainstorm-landslide-barrier lake-flooding. This study was built on field surveys, satellite image interpretation, the digital elevation model (DEM), engineering geological analysis and empirical regression. The purpose was to reveal the characteristics and causes of the landslide, the features and formation process of the barrier lake and the dam break flooding discharge. The results show that the volume of the landslide deposit is approximately 2.4 × 105 m3. The burst mode of the landslide dam is overtopping, which took only 22 minutes from the formation of the landslide dam to its overtopping. The dam-break peak flow was 1353 m3/s, and the average velocity was 2.8–3.0 m/s. This study shows that the strongly weathered rock and soil slope has low strength and high permeability under the condition of heavy rainfall, which reminds us the high risk of landslides and the importance of accurate early warning of landslides under heavy rainfalls in densely populated areas of Southeast China, as well as the severity of the disaster chain of typhoon-rainstorm-landslide-barrier lake-flooding.
