In this study, the impact of late winter (January–February) sea surface temperature (SST) seesaw between equatorial central Pacific and Philippine Sea on early spring (March–April) vegetation interannual variation over the low-latitude highlands of China (CLLH) is investigated. The positive phase of late winter seesaw SST pattern, characterized by warmer (colder)-than-normal SSTs in the equatorial central Pacific (Philippine Sea), favors early spring CLLH vegetation growth. From the local perspective, the positive phase of late winter SST seesaw results in stronger (higher)-than-normal precipitation (surface air temperature) in the west (east) of the CLLH, these abnormal signals may be recorded by land surface and may persist to early spring, and this wetter(warmer)-than-normal land surface condition in the west (east) of the CLLH favors local vegetation growth. For the atmospheric circulation anomalies, the positive phase of late winter seesaw SST pattern contributes to an anomalous anticyclone over Philippine Sea in lower troposphere. On one hand, anomalous northerly winds on the eastern flank of this anomalous cyclone advect off-equatorial dry and cold air to the Maritime Continent and cause precipitation reduction there, consequently an anomalous anticyclone over the tropical north Indian Ocean in lower troposphere is excited via a Gill-type Rossby wave atmospheric response. This anomalous anticyclone leads to enhanced upward motion and increased precipitation in the west of the CLLH resultantly. On the other hand, southerly wind anomalies being the western flank of the anomalous anticyclone advect warm air to the east of the CLLH, result in increased surface air temperature there. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are widely used in antimicrobial applications. However, its easy aggregation and rapid loss hinder the effective antifouling. To address this issue, a novel stimuli-responsive antibacterial nanocomposite (Ag@SP-MSN) was developed based on spiropyran covalently conjugated mesoporous silica nanoparticles (284.6 nm) and AgNPs (27.1 nm) via strong electrostatic attraction. Both transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) images proved the successful modification of AgNPs onto SP-MSN. The light-induced maximum loading amount towards AgNPs was calculated to be 95.0 wt.% after ultraviolet irradiation, while the amount of AgNPs released from Ag@SP-MSN was 94.4 wt.% under visible light in the aid of ammonia (0.1%, v/v). Upon cycled light irradiation, Ag@SP-MSN could recover 84.5 wt.% of AgNPs even after four cycles. The proposed Ag@SP-MSN exhibited better antibacterial activity against both E. coli and S. aureus than Ag@MSN under visible light illumination, indicating the efficient photo-responsive isomerization of spiropyran. Furthermore, the Ag@SP-MSN embedded gel demonstrated outstanding antifouling ability even after 21 days when compared to AgNPs gel. The long-term photo-controllable antifouling property proved the excellent reversible absorption and release of Ag@SP-MSN towards AgNPs. Tumor spread through air spaces (STAS) is a distinctive metastatic pattern affecting prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients. Several challenges are associated with STAS detection, including misdetection, low interobserver agreement, and lack of quantitative analysis. In this research, a total of 489 digital whole slide images (WSIs) were collected. The deep learning-based STAS detection model, named STASNet, was constructed to calculate semi-quantitative parameters associated with STAS density and distance. STASNet demonstrated an accuracy of 0.93 for STAS detection at the tiles level and had an AUC of 0.72–0.78 for determining the STAS status at the WSI level. Among the semi-quantitative parameters, T10S, combined with the spatial location information, significantly stratified stage I LUAD patients on disease-free survival. Additionally, STASNet was deployed into a real-time pathological diagnostic environment, which boosted the STAS detection rate and led to the identification of three easily misidentified types of occult STAS. Objectives: The present study aimed to investigate the incremental prognostic value of the right ventricular fractal dimension (FD), a novel marker of myocardial trabecular complexity by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in patients with arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM). Methods: Consecutive patients with ACM undergoing CMR were followed up for major cardiac events, including sudden cardiac death, aborted cardiac arrest, and appropriate implantable cardioverter defibrillator intervention. Prognosis prediction was compared by Cox regression analysis. We established a multivariable model supplemented with RV FD and evaluated its discrimination by Harrell's C-statistic. We compared the category-free, continuous net reclassification improvement (cNRI) and integrated discrimination index (IDI) before and after the addition of FD. Results: A total of 105 patients were prospectively included from three centers and followed up for a median of 60 (48, 66) months; experienced 36 major cardiac events were recorded. Trabecular FD displayed a strong unadjusted association with major cardiac events (p < 0.05). In the multivariable Cox regression analysis, RV maximal apical FD maintained an independent association with major cardiac events (hazard ratio, 1.31 (1.11–1.55), p < 0.002). The Hosmer–Lemeshow goodness of fit test displayed good fit (X2 = 0.68, p = 0.99). Diagnostic performance was significantly improved after the addition of RV maximal apical FD to the multivariable baseline model, and the continuous net reclassification improvement increased 21% (p = 0.001), and the integrated discrimination index improved 16% (p = 0.045). Conclusions: In patients with ACM, CMR-assessed myocardial trabecular complexity was independently correlated with adverse cardiovascular events and provided incremental prognostic value. Clinical relevance statement: The application of FD values for assessing RV myocardial trabeculae may become an accessible and promising parameter in monitoring and early diagnosis of risk factors for adverse cardiovascular events in patients with ACM. Grinding surface quality is a key indicator to determine the performance of parts and the reliability of products. During the grinding process, the pre-control technology makes appropriate adjustments in advance on its key aspects to improve the grinding surface quality. Therefore, this paper constructs a data-driven pre-control system for grinding surface quality including target layer, acquisition layer, analysis layer, and application layer. From the perspective of this system, the research progress of grinding surface quality by data-driven is reviewed. In the target layer, the connotation, formation mechanism, and main influencing indexes of grinding surface quality are described in detail. In the acquisition layer, the acquisition and processing methods of grinding data and their advantages and disadvantages are comprehensively analyzed. In the analysis layer, the methods of using result data, process data, and real-time signal data to characterize grinding surface quality are introduced. In the application layer, the research status of grinding surface quality prediction, optimization, and control are comprehensively and systematically summarized. Background: T2*BOLD is based on myocardial deoxyhemoglobin content to reflect the state of myocardial oxygenation. Quantitative flow ratio is a tool for assessing coronary blood flow based on invasive coronary angiography. Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between T2*BOLD and QFR in the diagnosis of stenotic coronary arteries in patients with multi-vessel coronary artery disease. Methods: Fifty patients with MVCAD with at least 1 significant coronary artery stenosis (diameter stenosis > 50%) and 21 healthy control subjects underwent coronary angiography combined with QFR measurements and cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). QFR ≤ 0.80 was considered to indicate the presence of hemodynamic obstruction. Results: Totally 60 (54%) obstructive vessels had hemodynamic change. Between stenotic coronary arteries (QFR ≤ 0.8) and normal vessels, T2*BOLD showed AUCs of 0.97, 0.69, and 0.91 for left anterior descending (LAD), left circumflex (LCX) and right coronary (RCA) arteries and PI displayed AUCs of 0.89, 0.77 and 0.90 (all p > 0.05, except for LAD). The AUCs of T2*BOLD between stenotic coronary arteries (QFR > 0.8) and normal vessels were 0.86, 0.72, and 0.85 for LAD, LCX and RCA; while, PI showed AUCs of 0.93, 0.86, and 0.88, respectively (p > 0.05). Moreover, T2*BOLD displayed AUCs of 0.96, 0.74, and 0.91 for coronary arteries as before between coronary arteries with stenosis (QFR ≤ 0.8 and > 0.8), but the mean PI of LAD, LCX and RCA showed no significant differences between them. Conclusion: T2* BOLD and QFR have good correlation in diagnosing stenotic coronary arteries with hemodynamic changes in patients with stable multi-vessel CAD. Spinal cord injury (SCI) leads to fibrotic scar formation at the lesion site, yet the heterogeneity of fibrotic scar remains elusive. Here we show the heterogeneity in distribution, origin, and function of fibroblasts within fibrotic scars after SCI in mice and female monkeys. Utilizing lineage tracing and single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), we found that perivascular fibroblasts (PFs), and meningeal fibroblasts (MFs), rather than pericytes/vascular smooth cells (vSMCs), primarily contribute to fibrotic scar in both transection and crush SCI. Crabp2 + /Emb+ fibroblasts (CE-F) derived from meninges primarily localize in the central region of fibrotic scars, demonstrating enhanced cholesterol synthesis and secretion of type I collagen and fibronectin. In contrast, perivascular/pial Lama1 + /Lama2+ fibroblasts (LA-F) are predominantly found at the periphery of the lesion, expressing laminin and type IV collagen and functionally involved in angiogenesis and lipid transport. These findings may provide a comprehensive understanding for remodeling heterogeneous fibrotic scars after SCI. The Arctic, Antarctica and the Tibetan Plateau in the high mountains of Asia are called the Earth's three poles and have exhibited the most intense warming worldwide in recent decades. The Arctic Oscillation (AO), Antarctic Oscillation (AAO) and South Asia High (SAH) are the most influential and stable large-scale systems affecting the three poles. The global carbon neutrality targets (1.5 °C/2°C), which promote sustainable development, and the future evolution of these large-scale systems will have implications for global climate projections at the three poles. In this study, our evaluation revealed the satisfactory performance of the multi-initial-value ensemble mean of the Community Earth System Model (CESM) in capturing the observed AO, AAO and SAH patterns. Based on the simulations derived from the CESM Low Warming Experiment, the warming in the three poles will be significantly greater than the global mean when the global warming reaches 1.5 °C/2°C. Under the 1.5 °C global warming level (GWL), a stronger center of action over the North Atlantic will lead to an enhanced influence of the AO on the surface air temperature (SAT) in northern Europe. However, all of the centers of action for the AO and its remote influence on the SAT in the Northern Hemisphere will be weaker when global warming reaches 2 °C. For the AAO, the pair of centers of action in the southern pole and Southern Ocean will weaken under the 1.5 °C scenario, leading to a stronger influence of the AAO on the SAT in the Antarctic Peninsula and a weaker effect in East Antarctica and its surrounding seas. In contrast, the eastward movement of the centers of action over the Southern Ocean under the 2 °C scenario will weaken the teleconnection between the AAO and summer SAT across the Antarctic. During the 21st century, over the third pole, the SAH will move southeastward with significantly increased interannual variability. The change in the SAH at the 1.5 °C GWL will contribute to a warmer summer and less precipitation in Northeast China. Under the 2 °C scenario, the greater movement and strengthening of the SAH will lead to more precipitation and cooler summers in the Yangtze River. Our results suggest that the AO/AAO/SAH are related to the regional climate in a carbon-neutral world. This study has important implications for decadal climate predictions in a future 1.5 °C/2°C warmer world, offering insights into the associated climate risks across the three poles. In this study, high-resolution anthropogenic heat release (AHR) due to energy consumption is considered in Community Earth System Model version 1 (CESM1) to explore possible climatic effects and physical mechanisms due to AHR in eastern China (EC) in boreal summer. The results show that the heating effect of AHR on the lower atmosphere leads to an increase in the temperature difference between land and ocean, causing changes in atmospheric circulation and water vapor transport in EC in boreal summer. AHR affects the lower-troposphere stability and low clouds, impacting the surface energy balance. This will affect the surface temperature and further increase the occurrence of extreme high temperatures. The modeling results show that in the central part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Inner Mongolia regions, the relative humidity increases by more than 1% due to AHR, leading to a decrease in low cloud cover. In the Middle-Lower Yangtze region, low clouds decrease by 2–3%, while the net shortwave radiation flux at the surface increases by approximately 5%. AHR leads to an increase of 0.19 K in the 2 m air temperature in the 25°N-35°N regions of EC on average in boreal summer, which will further impact the summer extreme high temperature in the Middle-Lower Yangtze Region. The intelligent monitoring of the grinding wheel wear state has the potential to enhance several key aspects of grinding operations, including wheel utilization, wheel dressing, grinding efficiency, grinding quality and so on. In this paper, it is proposed as an acoustic emission signal–based monitoring method of electroplated diamond grinding wheel wear state for C/SiC composite material groove grinding. Firstly, the full-life wear experiment of electroplated grinding wheel grinding C/SiC composites was carried out, and the connection between the acoustic emission signal and the wear state of the grinding wheel was established by frequency domain and time–frequency domain characteristics. Secondly, the time domain, frequency domain and time–frequency domain features of the signals in the stable grinding stage of C/SiC composites were extracted by wavelet packet method. Finally, based on the extracted features, the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) was optimized by Mayfly Algorithm (MA) to realize online monitoring and intelligent recognition of grinding wheel wear. Background: Cerebral microbleeds (CMBs) have been described in critically ill patients with respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), or sepsis. This scoping review aimed to systematically summarize existing literature on critical illness–associated CMBs. Methods: Studies reporting on adults admitted to the intensive care unit for respiratory failure, ARDS, or sepsis with evidence of CMBs on magnetic resonance imaging were included for review following a systematic search across five databases (MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Scopus, and Web of Science) and a two-stage screening process. Studies were excluded if patients' CMBs were clearly explained by another process of neurological injury. Results: Forty-eight studies reporting on 216 critically ill patients (mean age 57.9, 18.4% female) with CMBs were included. Of 216, 197 (91.2%) patients developed respiratory failure or ARDS, five (2.3%) patients developed sepsis, and 14 (6.5%) patients developed both respiratory failure and sepsis. Of 211 patients with respiratory failure, 160 (75.8%) patients had coronavirus disease 2019. The prevalence of CMBs among critically ill patients with respiratory failure or ARDS was 30.0% (111 of 370 patients in cohort studies). The corpus callosum and juxtacortical area were the most frequently involved sites for CMBs (64.8% and 41.7% of all 216 patients, respectively). Functional outcomes were only reported in 48 patients, among whom 31 (64.6%) were independent at discharge, four (8.3%) were dependent at discharge, and 13 (27.1%) did not survive until discharge. Cognitive outcomes were only reported in 11 of 216 patients (5.1%), all of whom showed cognitive deficits (nine patients with executive dysfunction and two patients with memory deficits). Conclusions: Cerebral microbleeds are commonly reported in patients with critical illness due to respiratory failure, ARDS, or sepsis. CMBs had a predilection for the corpus callosum and juxtacortical area, which may be specific to critical illness–associated CMBs. Objectives: Endocardial trabeculae undergo varicose changes and hyperplasia in response to hemodynamic influences and are a variable phenotype reflecting changes in disease. Fractal analysis has been used to analyze the complexity of endocardial trabeculae in a variety of cardiomyopathies. The aim of this paper was to quantify the myocardial trabecular complexity through fractal analysis and to investigate its predictive value for the diagnosis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) in patients with multivessel coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods: The retrospective study population consisted of 97 patients with multivessel CAD, 39 of them were diagnosed with HFpEF, while 46 healthy volunteers were recruited as controls. Fractal dimension (FD) was obtained through fractal analysis of endocardial trabeculae on LV short-axis cine images. Logistic regression analyses were used to confirm the predictors and compare different prediction models. Results: Mean basal FD was significantly higher in patients with HFpEF than in patients without HFpEF or in the healthy group (median: 1.289; IQR: 0.078; p < 0.05). Mean basal FD was also a significant independent predictor in univariate and multivariate logistic regression (OR: 1.107 and 1.043, p < 0.05). Furthermore, adding FD to the prediction model improved the calibration and accuracy of the model (c-index: 0.806). Conclusion: The left ventricular FD obtained with fractal analysis can reflect the complexity of myocardial trabeculae and has an independent predictive value for the diagnosis of HFpEF in patients with multivessel CAD. Including FD into the diagnostic model can help improve the diagnosis. Clean fire extinguishing systems applicable to the pottery jar liquor warehouse are in demand. In this study, taking 53vol% liquor as the research subject, fire models of various clean fire extinguishing systems comprising water mist, liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) and liquid nitrogen (LN2) were established using a fire dynamic simulator to determine their fire extinguishing effect. A feasibility assessment of systems was performed under different fire source types, fire source sizes, and ventilation conditions. The fire extinguishing efficiency was analyzed in terms of the fire extinguishing time, oxygen concentration, and space temperature. The results showed that the success rate of the LCO2 and LN2 fire extinguishing systems was 100%, whereas the success rate of the water mist fire extinguishing system was 95%. In terms of reducing the oxygen concentration at the bottom of the space and the temperature in the space, the LCO2 system exhibited the best performance, followed by the LN2 system, and lastly the water mist. Under different ventilation conditions and fire source types, the LCO2 fire extinguishing system was least affected, whereas the effectiveness of the water mist fire extinguishing system reduced under natural ventilation conditions, and the extinguishing efficiency of the LN2 fire extinguishing system was affected by the fire source type. Overall, the LCO2 system presented more advantages in extinguishing fires in pottery jar liquor warehouses and can provide a new idea for the development and application of clean and efficient fire extinguishing systems. Purpose: The narrow supralabyrinthine space affects surgical procedures. To study the effect of temporary transposition of geniculate ganglion of facial nerve versus nontransposition on lesion recurrence and facial nerve function in patients with petrous bone cholesteatoma. Methods: A total of 18 patients with petrous bone cholesteatoma involving the facial nerve were treated in our hospital from November 2016 to March 2023. The main surgical method is the extended supralabyrinthine approach assisted by a microscope and an endoscope. We collected and retrospectively analyzed their medical records. Results: Temporary facial nerve transposition was performed in five patients, and nontransposition was performed in 13 patients. Cholesteatoma recurred in three patients with facial nerve nontransposition, whereas none in patients with facial nerve transposition. In this study, except for one case with a second operation, postoperative facial paralysis in other cases was improved to varying degrees, and there was no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: Temporary transposition of geniculate ganglion of facial nerve will not affect the postoperative nerve function of patients and can reduce the possibility of cholesteatoma recurrence of the petrous bone. We previously reported that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) RPLP0P2 is involved in the progression of colorectal cancer (CRC); however, its molecular mechanisms in CRC remain unclear. In this study, we observed that RPLP0P2 was upregulated in CRC tissues and cell lines. Cell viability was measured using the MTT and colony formation assays. Migration and invasion capabilities were monitored by wound healing, transwell, and immunofluorescence assays. The results showed that RPLP0P2 downregulation inhibited cell viability, migration, and invasion capabilities of CRC cells, accompanied by decreased PCNA, N-cadherin, and Vimentin, and increased E-cadherin expression. Using the DIANA online database, miR-129-5p was identified as a downstream target of RPLP0P2. In fact, RPLP0P2 colocalized with miR-129-5p, acting as a miR-129-5p sponge. MiR-129-5p-inhibition almost abrogated the anti-tumor effects induced by RPLP0P2 inhibition in CRC cells. Zinc finger and BTB domain-containing 20 (ZBTB20) was identified as a potential downstream target of miR-129-5p in CRC cells. ZBTB20 overexpression prevented miR-129-5p mimic-mediated anti-tumor effects in CRC cells. A tumor xenograft assay was performed to monitor the role of RPLP0P2 in tumor growth. Of note, in tumor-bearing mice, RPLP0P2-silencing inhibited tumor growth, followed by increased miR-129-5p and decreased ZBTB20 expression. Our results suggest that lncRNA RPLP0P2 functions as an oncogene that promotes CRC cell proliferation and invasion via regulating the miR-129-5p/ZBTB20 axis, thus, it may serve as a candidate target for CRC interventional therapies. Atom interferometer has been proven to be a powerful tool for precision metrology. Here we propose a cavity-aided nonlinear atom interferometer, based on the quasi-periodic spin mixing dynamics of an atomic spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensate trapped in an optical cavity. We unravel that the phase sensitivity can be greatly enhanced with the cavity-mediated nonlinear interaction. The influence of encoding phase, splitting time and recombining time on phase sensitivity are carefully studied. In addition, we demonstrate a dynamical phase transition in the system. Around the criticality, a small cavity light field variation can arouse a strong response of the atomic condensate, which can serve as a new resource for enhanced sensing. RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A), as the most abundant modification of messenger RNA, can modulate insect behaviors, but its specific roles in aggregation behaviors remain unexplored. Here, we conducted a comprehensive molecular and physiological characterization of the individual components of the methyltransferase and demethylase in the migratory locust Locusta migratoria. Our results demonstrated that METTL3, METTL14 and ALKBH5 were dominantly expressed in the brain and exhibited remarkable responses to crowding or isolation. The individual knockdown of methyltransferases (i.e., METTL3 and METTL14) promoted locust movement and conspecific attraction, whereas ALKBH5 knockdown induced a behavioral shift toward the solitary phase. Furthermore, global transcriptome profiles revealed that m6A modification could regulate the orchestration of gene expression to fine tune the behavioral aggregation of locusts. In summary, our in vivo characterization of the m6A functions in migratory locusts clearly demonstrated the crucial roles of the m6A pathway in effectively modulating aggregation behaviors. Background: Severe asthma, characterized by inflammation and airway remodeling, involves fibroblast differentiation into myofibroblasts expressing α-SMA. This process leads to the production of fibronectin and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), driven by factors such as transforming growth factor (TGF)-β. Furthermore, the persistent presence of myofibroblasts is associated with resistance to apoptosis and mitochondrial dysfunction. The chemokine (C-X3-C motif) ligand 1 (CX3CL1) plays a role in tissue fibrosis. However, it is currently unknown whether neutralization of CX3CL1 decreases TGF-β-induced fibroblast differentiation and mitochondrial dysfunction in normal human lung fibroblasts (NHLFs). Methods: CX3CL1/C-X3-C motif chemokine receptor 1 (CX3CR1), CX3CL1 was analyzed by immunofluorescence (IF) or immunohistochemical (IHC) staining of ovalbumin-challenged mice. CX3CL1 release was detected by ELISA. TGF-β-induced CTGF, fibronectin, and α-SMA expression were evaluated in NHLFs following neutralization of CX3CL1 (TP213) treatment for the indicated times by Western blotting or IF staining. Mitochondrion function was detected by a JC-1 assay and seahorse assay. Cell apoptosis was observed by a terminal uridine nick-end labeling (TUNEL) assay. Results: An increase in CX3CL1 expression was observed in lung tissues from mice with ovalbumin-induced asthma by IF staining. CX3CR1 was increased in the subepithelial layer of the airway by IHC staining. Moreover, CX3CR1 small interfering (si)RNA downregulated TGF-β-induced CTGF and fibronectin expression in NHLFs. CX3CL1 induced CTGF and fibronectin expression in NHLFs. TGF-β-induced CX3CL1 secretion from NHLFs. Furthermore, TP213 decreased TGF-β-induced CTGF, fibronectin, and α-SMA expression in NHLFs. Mitochondrion-related differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were examined after CX3CL1 neutralization in TGF-β-treated NHLFs. TP213 alleviated TGF-β-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis resistance in NHLFs. CX3CL1 induced p65, IκBα, and IKKα phosphorylation in a time-dependent manner. Furthermore, CX3CL1-induced fibronectin expression and JC-1 monomer were decreased by p65 siRNA. TP213 reduced TGF-β-induced p65 and α-SMA expression in NHLFs. Conclusions: These findings suggest that neutralizing CX3CL1 attenuates lung fibroblast activation and mitochondrial dysfunction. This paper presents the design and analysis of a biomimetic underwater snake-like robot, addressing the main limitations of current underwater robotic systems in terms of maneuverability and adaptability in complex environments. In light of the integration of digitalization and the energy revolution, digitalization can be integrated into the energy industry to develop energy-saving technologies and improve resource allocation efficiency. On the basis of 2013–2019 Chinese provincial panel data, this paper measures the level of green energy efficiency based on the super-EBM-DEA model and analyzes the linear relationship, nonlinear relationship, and potential mechanism between digitalization and green energy efficiency. The findings indicate that (1) overall, both China's digitalization and green energy efficiency formed a steady upward trajectory during the sample period. Digitalization showed a spatial characteristic of extending and spreading from the eastern region to the central and western regions. Green energy efficiency was characterized by obvious regional heterogeneity. (2) Progress in digitalization has a significant driving effect on green energy efficiency. Subdimensional analysis shows that this driving effect mainly comes from digital development and digital transactions. (3) The impact of digitalization on green energy efficiency presents a threshold effect of economic agglomeration (with a threshold of 0.0257 and a marginally increasing, positive driving trend) and population agglomeration (with a threshold of 4.2750 and a marginally decreasing, positive driving trend). (4) Decomposing changes in green energy efficiency into scale efficiency and pure technical efficiency, this study shows that pure technical efficiency gains due to digitalization are the main driver of green energy efficiency improvements. Background: Although gastrointestinal endoscopy with sedation is increasingly performed in older patients, the optimal level of sedation remains open to debate. In this study, our objective was to compare the effects of moderate sedation (MS) and deep sedation (DS) on recovery following outpatient gastroscopy in elderly patients. Methods: In this randomized, partially blinded, controlled trial, we randomly divided 270 patients older than 60 years who were scheduled for elective outpatient gastroscopy into the MS or DS group based on the Modified Observer's Assessment of Alertness/Sedation (MOAA/S) scale. The primary outcome was the duration of stay in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). Secondary outcomes included the duration of the total hospital stay, frequency of retching, bucking, and body movements during the examination, endoscopist and patient satisfaction, and sedation-associated adverse events during the procedure. Results: A total of 264 patients completed the study, of whom 131 received MS and 133 received DS. MS was associated with a shorter PACU stay [16.15 ± 9.01 min vs. 20.02 ± 11.13 min, P < 0.01] and total hospital stay [27.32 ± 9.86 min vs. 30.82 ± 12.37 min, P < 0.05], lesser hypoxemia [2.3% (3/131) vs. 12.8% (17/133), P < 0.01], use of fewer vasoactive drugs (P < 0.001), and more retching (P < 0.001). There was no difference in the incidence of bucking and body movements or endoscopist and patient satisfaction between the two groups. Conclusion: Compared to deep sedation, moderate sedation may be a preferable choice for American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Grade I–III elderly patients undergoing outpatient gastroscopies, as demonstrated by shorter PACU stays and total hospital stays, lower sedation-associated adverse events, and similar levels of endoscopist and patient satisfaction. Objectives: Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) is an inherited cardiomyopathy characterized by progressive fibrofatty infiltration of atrial and ventricular myocardium resulting in adverse cardiac events. Atrial function has been increasingly recognized as prognostically important for cardiovascular disease. As the right atrial (RA) strain is a sensitive parameter to describe RA function, we aimed to analyze the prognostic value of the RA strain in ARVC. Methods: RA strain parameters were derived from cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) images of 105 participants with definite ARVC. The endpoint was defined as a combination of sudden cardiac death, survival cardiac arrest, and appropriate implantable cardioverter-defibrillator intervention. Cox regression and Kaplan–Meier survival analyses were performed to evaluate the association between RA strain parameters and endpoint. Concordance index (C index), net reclassification index (NRI), and integrated discrimination improvement (IDI) were calculated to assess the incremental value of RA strain in predicting the endpoint. Results: After a median follow-up of 5 years, 36 (34.3%) reaching the endpoint displayed significantly reduced RA strain parameters. At Kaplan–Meier analysis, impaired RA reservoir (RARS) and booster strains (RABS) were associated with an increased risk of the endpoint. After adjusting for conventional risk factors, RARS (hazard ratio [HR], 0.956; p = 0.005) and RABS (HR, 0.906; p = 0.002) resulted as independent predictors for endpoint at Cox regression analyses. In addition, RARS and RABS improved prognostic value to clinical risk factors and CMR morphological and functional predictors (all p < 0.05). Conclusion: RARS and RABS were independent predictors for adverse cardiac events, which could provide incremental prognostic value for conventional predictors in ARVC. Critical relevance statement: We evaluated the prognostic value of right atrial strain in ARVC patients and suggested cardiologists consider RA strain as a predictive parameter when evaluating the long-term outcome of ARVC patients in order to formulate better clinical therapy. Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a prevalent form of non-small cell lung cancer with a rising incidence in recent years. Understanding the mutation characteristics of LUAD is crucial for effective treatment and prediction of this disease. Among the various mutations observed in LUAD, KRAS mutations are particularly common. Different subtypes of KRAS mutations can activate the Ras signaling pathway to varying degrees, potentially influencing the pathogenesis and prognosis of LUAD. This study aims to investigate the relationship between different KRAS mutation subtypes and the pathogenesis and prognosis of LUAD. A total of 63 clinical samples of LUAD were collected for this study. The samples were analyzed using targeted gene sequencing panels to obtain sequencing data. To complement the dataset, additional clinical and sequencing data were obtained from TCGA and MSK. The analysis revealed significantly higher Ki67 immunohistochemical scores in patients with missense mutations compared to controls. Moreover, the expression level of KRAS was found to be significantly correlated with Ki67 expression. Enrichment analysis indicated that KRAS missense mutations activated the SWEET_LUNG_CANCER_KRAS_DN and CREIGHTON_ENDOCRINE_THERAPY_RESISTANCE_2 pathways. Additionally, patients with KRAS missense mutations and high Ki67 IHC scores exhibited significantly higher tumor mutational burden levels compared to other groups, which suggests they are more likely to be responsive to ICIs. Based on the data from MSK and TCGA, it was observed that patients with KRAS missense mutations had shorter survival compared to controls, and Ki67 expression level could more accurately predict patient prognosis. In conclusion, when utilizing KRAS mutations as biomarkers for the treatment and prediction of LUAD, it is important to consider the specific KRAS mutant subtypes and Ki67 expression levels. With the opening of the Stock Connect programs, the mainland China and Hong Kong stock markets are becoming more closely linked. In this paper, we develop a China's stock market risk early warning system. The proposed early warning system consists of three components. First, we use value at risk (VaR) to identify the stock market risk in which stock market risk is divided into multiple categories instead of two categories. Second, we construct a comprehensive indicator system in which basic indicators, technical indicators, overseas return rate indicators, and macroeconomic indicators are considered simultaneously. Third, we use four machine learning models, namely long short-term memory (LSTM), gate recurrent unit (GRU), multilayer perceptron (MLP), and EXtreme Gradient Boosting algorithm (XGBoost), to predict China's stock market risk. Experimental results show that: (1) Considering the macroeconomic indicators and basic indicators of Shanghai Composite Index (SSEC), ShenZhen Component Index (SZCZ) and Hang Seng Index (HSI) can significantly improve the performance of predicting China's stock market risk. (2) The opening of SH-HK Stock Connect program improves the predictive performance, but the opening of SZ-HK Stock Connect program decreases the predictive performance. Benefiting from cloud computing's elasticity, scalability, and pay-per-use model, more and more scientific applications are deployed in or migrated to the cloud. Workflow scheduling still faces many challenges due to the growing scales of workflows and the diversified user QoS requirements. In this work, we propose a Mutation-driven and population Grouping Poor and Rich Optimization algorithm (MG-PRO) for scheduling workflows in the cloud to minimize makespan while satisfying the budget constraints. Specifically, we first adopt the middle-class sub-population into the original Poor and Rich Optimization algorithm (PRO), and develop the update strategies for rich and middle-class sub-populations to increase the randomness and search diversity. Secondly, the update mechanism for rich individuals is enriched, and the middle-class sub-population is guided by elite rich individuals, which enhances the information exchange and sharing among sub-populations. Finally, an evolution-aware mutation strategy is designed, where the mutation probability is adjusted adaptively as the dynamic monitoring of the population update process, and the two-point and triangular crossover-based mutations are used alternately to intervene the evolution trajectory according to the degree of objective optimization, resulting in a better balance between exploration and exploration. Extensive experiments are conducted on well-known scientific workflows with different types and scales through WorkflowSim. The experimental results show that, in most cases, MG-PRO outperforms existing algorithms in terms of constraint satisfiability, solution quality and stability. It can generate near-optimal solutions with the different budget constraints satisfied in a relatively short time, for example, the makespan resulting from MG-PRO is at most 59.95% shorter than other meta-heuristic algorithms, and at least 7.33% shorter than all its peers. Amidst the current wave of digitalization and the realization of the “dual-carbon” goal, the question of whether the digital transformation of enterprises (EDT) can drive green innovation (GI) and accelerate industrial enterprises to enter the sustainable and high-caliber advancement track has attracted much attention from academia and practitioners. Drawing on data collected from 1750 industrial enterprises listed publicly between 2011 and 2020, this paper seeks to examine the impact of EDT on GI (including technology, management, and process). It is found that: (1) EDT significantly improves the GI of industrial enterprises, and the marginal effect of this impact is reflected in green technology innovation (GTI) > green process innovation (GPI) > green management innovation (GMI). (2) EDT can promote GI through the factor reconstruction effect and risk mitigation effect. In addition, global network correlation can reinforce the positive effect of EDT on GI. (3) Further analysis shows that the GI incentive effect of EDT mainly comes from digital realization, followed by digital concept and digital support. (4) The heterogeneity analysis indicates that EDT has a significant effect on driving GI in the dual pilot cities of “innovation” + “low-carbon”. Since lead is a non-biodegradable and neurotoxic heavy metal, efficient removal of Pb(II) from water is of great significance. Herein, a new type of functional cellulose with enriched thiourea groups (Thiourea-PC) was synthesized using the leaves of plumeria frangipani, a common agricultural solid waste, as the starting materials and applied for the efficient removal of lead ions from water. The properties of the cellulose-based adsorbent have been carefully analyzed and evaluated using FT-IR, SEM, XPS, and elemental analysis techniques. The results showed that the maximum adsorption capacity of Thiourea-PC was 173.92 mg/g under the optimal conditions. The adsorption mechanism was attributed to the complex reaction between Pb(II) and mercaptan/nitrogen-containing groups, and the adsorption process conformed to Langmuir isothermal adsorption model and Pseudo-second-order kinetic model. It is worth noting that after five cycles of adsorption–desorption, the removal rate of Pb(II) by Thiourea-pc was still high, reaching more than 97%, and it had been successfully applied to the simulated adsorption of actual water samples with excellent selectivity. Adsorbent precursors come from a wide range of sources, are economical and effective, and the resource utilization of biomass waste can be realized through sustainable synthesis. The use of titanium implants as fixed supports following fractures in patients with OP can often result in sterile loosening and poor osseointegration. Oxidative stress has been shown to play a particularly important role in this process. While TSA has been reported to facilitate in vivo osteogenesis, the underlying mechanisms remain to be clarified. It also remains unclear whether TSA can improve the osseointegration of titanium implants. This study investigated whether TSA could enhance the osseointegration of titanium rods by activating AKT/Nrf2 pathway signaling, thereby suppressing oxidative stress. MC3T3-E1 cells treated with CCCP to induce oxidative stress served as an in vitro model, while an OVX-induced OP rat model was employed for in vivo analysis of titanium rod implantation. In vitro, TSA treatment of CCCP-treated MC3T3-E1 cells resulted in the upregulation of osteogenic proteins together with increased AKT, total Nrf2, nuclear Nrf2, HO-1, and NQO1 expression, enhanced mitochondrial functionality, and decreased oxidative damage. Notably, the PI3K/AKT inhibitor LY294002 reversed these effects. In vivo, TSA effectively enhanced the microstructural characteristics of distal femur trabecular bone, increased BMSCs mineralization capacity, promoted bone formation, and improved the binding of titanium implants to the surrounding tissue. Finally, our results showed that TSA could reverse oxidative stress-induced cell damage while promoting bone healing and improving titanium rods' osseointegration through AKT/Nrf2 pathway activation. China is in the period of vigorously developing the "digital economy" and "low-carbon economy," facing the double pressure of realizing the "dual-carbon" target and maintaining stable economic growth. This paper tests the role of the digital economy (DIEC) in the process of carbon emission reduction for the advancement of low carbon economy based on this issue from the perspective of carbon intensity (CI) by constructing a fixed effects and mediation effects model using data from 30 areas from 2011 to 2021. The study results show that at the national level, the advancement of DIEC significantly inhibits CI, and the conclusion still holds after various robustness tests. From the geographic region level, the suppression of CI by digital economic advancement has the most substantial impact in the central region. Although the eastern and western areas have similar results, the significance level is higher in the east region. When considering the economic development level, the impact of DIEC on CI is more significant in areas with lower economic development than those with higher economic growth. In analyzing the path of the DIEC affecting CI, it is found that the DIEC mainly inhibits CI by promoting technological advancement and reducing energy consumption intensity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: The current study aimed to explore a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) model that integrates multidimensional CMR data to accurately identify LV paradoxical pulsation after reperfusion by primary percutaneous coronary intervention with isolated anterior infarction. Methods: A total of 401 participants (311 patients and 90 age-matched volunteers) were recruited for this prospective study. The two-dimensional UNet segmentation model of the LV and classification model for identifying paradoxical pulsation were established using the DCNN model. Features of 2- and 3-chamber images were extracted with 2-dimensional (2D) and 3D ResNets with masks generated by a segmentation model. Next, the accuracy of the segmentation model was evaluated using the Dice score and classification model by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and confusion matrix. The areas under the ROC curve (AUCs) of the physicians in training and DCNN models were compared using the DeLong method. Results: The DCNN model showed that the AUCs for the detection of paradoxical pulsation were 0.97, 0.91, and 0.83 in the training, internal, and external testing cohorts, respectively (p < 0.001). The 2.5-dimensional model established using the end-systolic and end-diastolic images combined with 2-chamber and 3-chamber images was more efficient than the 3D model. The discrimination performance of the DCNN model was better than that of physicians in training (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Compared to the model trained by 2-chamber or 3-chamber images alone or 3D multiview, our 2.5D multiview model can combine the information of 2-chamber and 3-chamber more efficiently and obtain the highest diagnostic sensitivity. We propose a NOR flash-based computing-in-memory (CIM) to implement high-precision (32-bit) Poisson image editing, including the gradient operations and Laplace operation. To meet the requirements of image processing, CIM operation schemes and reliabilities are carefully studied and optimized, showing that the power consumption at the near-threshold-voltage (NTV) region can be as low as 40 fJ/bit, which is two orders lower than working at the saturation region. High-temperature retention, as well as various disturbs, are also analyzed. Anthropogenic heat release (AHR) is the release of heat generated by anthropogenic energy consumption. The global mean flux of AHR is 0.03 W m−2, while AHR is geographically concentrated and fundamentally correlates with economic activity; furthermore, AHR can reach a level sufficient for impacting regional even large-scale climate. In this study, the impacts of AHR on the summer European heatwaves (EHWs) are examined by using the Community Earth System Model version 1 (CESM1). The results show that in Europe, AHR increases the summer mean 2-m temperature by 0.26 °C and the surface minimum and maximum temperatures by 0.14 °C and 0.41 °C, respectively. AHR exacerbates the extreme high temperatures in the summer in Europe, increasing EHW days by 1–2 days in central and eastern Europe in the summer annually from 1992 to 2013. AHR strengthens the surface wind that flows from the ocean to the land in Europe by increasing the land surface temperatures. AHR decreases the lower-troposphere stability (LTS) and reduces the low-cloud amounts in Europe, which leads to more solar shortwave radiation reaching the surface. AHR affects water vapor and the surface energy balance in Europe, which impacts on European summer heatwaves further. Temperature is one of the key environmental factors in Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) culture, affecting the growth and survival of shrimp. Our previous study found that stress resistance related pathways (endoplasmic reticulum stress, immune, and apoptosis) were significantly increased under low temperature stress, but studies about their regulation are still limited. Therefore, the histological changes and the genes expression related to the above pathways in L. vannamei were examined under conditions of cooling from 28 to 13 °C with a cooling rate of 2.5 °C /2 h and then maintained at 13 °C for 12 h. The results showed that the gill and intestine of L. vannamei were obviously damaged after low temperatures stress, while the muscle tissue of shrimp did not change significantly. Most of the relative expression of unfolded protein response (UPR) pathway (GRP78, ATF6, IRE1, and PERK), immune (proPO), as well as apoptosis (CASP3) gene in each tissue were significant changed after cooling. The results suggested that muscle may be more structurally stable than other tissues in shrimp. The stress resistance mechanisms could be activated under low temperatures, and 18 °C may be the critical point for L. vannamei to adjust its anti-stress system to maintain organism homeostasis. Moreover, the results also reflect that the stress resistance system is tissue-specific under low temperature stress in L. vannamei. This study can enrich our understanding of the responses at the histological and genetic levels in shrimp under low temperature stress, helping to promote further development of shrimp culture industry. Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) are involved in restenosis of bypass grafts and cause artery graft occlusion. This study aimed to explore the role of Slit2 in phenotypic switching of VSMCs and its effect on restenosis of vascular conduits. An animal model of vascular graft restenosis (VGR) was produced in SD rats and assessed by echocardiography. The expression of Slit2 and Hif-1α was measured in vivo and in vitro. After Slit2 overexpression, the migration and proliferation of VSMCs were detected in vitro, and the restenosis rates and phenotype of VSMCs were tested in vivo. The arteries of the VGR model presented significant stenosis, and Slit2 was decreased in VSMCs of the VGR model. In vitro, Slit2 overexpression inhibited the migration and proliferation of VSMCs, but Slit2 knockdown promoted migration and proliferation. Hypoxia induced Hif-1α but reduced Slit2, and Hif-1α negatively regulated Slit2 expression. Moreover, Slit2 overexpression weakened the rate of VGR and maintained the patency of artery bypass grafts, which suppressed the phenotypic switching of VSMCs. We present a highly integrated point-of-care testing (POCT) device capable of immediately and accurately screening bovine mastitis infection based on somatic cell counting (SCC). The system primarily consists of a homemade cell-counting chamber and a miniature fluorescent microscope. The cell-counting chamber is pre-embedded with acridine orange (AO) in advance, which is simple and practical. And then SCC is directly identified by microscopic imaging analysis to evaluate the bovine mastitis infection. Only 4 μL of raw bovine milk is required for a simple sample testing and accurate SCC. The entire assay process from sampling to result in presentation is completed quickly within 6 min, enabling instant "sample-in and answer-out." Under laboratory conditions, we mixed bovine leukocyte suspension with whole milk and achieved a detection limit as low as 2.12 × 104 cells/mL on the system, which is capable of screening various types of clinical standards of bovine milk. The fitting degrees of the proposed POCT system with manual fluorescence microscopy were generally consistent (R2 > 0.99). As a proof of concept, four fresh milk samples were used in the test. The average accuracy of somatic cell counts was 98.0%, which was able to successfully differentiate diseased cows from healthy ones. In this paper, the periodic event-triggered consensus problem for linear multiagent systems (MASs) with random packet dropouts in a generic directed communication topology is addressed. Both leaderless and leader-following mean square consensus problems, where the random packet dropouts are described by a Bernoulli-distributed sequence, are considered. To solve these problems, a linear transformation matrix is constructed from a given directed spanning tree of the communication topology of the MASs, which equivalently transforms the mean square consensus problem into the corresponding mean square asymptotic stability problem of the derived reduced-order systems with constraints. Then, mean square consensus criteria are derived using the Lyapunov stability theory, which is expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) concerning the sampling period, the packet dropout probability, and the control gain matrix. To reduce the information updating number, an event-triggered mechanism is designed with fewer unknown parameters. Objectives: Entropy is a new late gadolinium enhanced (LGE) cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR)–derived parameter that is independent of signal intensity thresholds. Entropy can be used to measure myocardial tissue heterogeneity by comparing full pixel points of tissue images. This study investigated the incremental prognostic value of left ventricular (LV) entropy in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Methods: This study enrolled 337 participants with HCM who underwent 3.0-T CMR. The LV entropy was obtained by calculating the probability distribution of the LV myocardial pixel signal intensities of the LGE sequence. Patients who underwent CMR imaging were followed up for endpoints. The primary endpoint was defined as readmission to the hospital owing to heart failure. The secondary endpoint was the composite of the primary endpoint, sudden cardiac death and non-cardiovascular death. Results: During the median follow-up of 24 months ± 13 (standard deviation), 43 patients who reached the primary and secondary endpoints had a higher entropy (6.20 ± 0.45, p < 0.001). The patients with increased entropy (≥ 5.587) had a higher risk of the primary and secondary endpoints, compared with HCM patients with low entropy (p < 0.001 for both). In addition, Cox analysis showed that LV entropy provided significant prognostic value for predicting both primary and secondary endpoints (HR: 1.291 and 1.273, all p < 0.001). Addition of LV entropy to the multivariable model improved model performance and risk reclassification (p < 0.05). Conclusion: LV entropy assessed by CMR was an independent predictor of primary and secondary endpoints. LV entropy assessment contributes to improved risk stratification in patients with HCM. Critical relevance statement: Myocardial heterogeneity reflected by entropy the derived parameter of LGE has prognostic value for adverse events in HCM. The measurement of LV entropy helped to identify patients with HCM who were at risk for heart failure and sudden cardiac death. In recent years, federated learning has been widely used in various fields, such as smart healthcare and financial forecast, due to its ability to protect the privacy of user secret data. Although federated learning has the capability of protecting users' data privacy, recent research results demonstrated that federated learning still suffers from many privacy attacks. Among them, membership inference attacks are the most common privacy attacks in which attackers infer whether the record belongs to a member message or not. However, the current studies are unable to provide further depth to infer membership information, meaning that existing attack methods have difficulty deducing specifically which user the record belongs to. Moreover, there is a lack of training data in the training process which seriously impacts the effectiveness of membership inference attacks. In this paper, from the perspective of inferring both model-level and user-level membership information, we not only infer whether a record belongs to members but furthermore identify which member the record belongs to. In addition, we augment the training dataset by leveraging the generative adversarial networks (GANs) approach and address the lack of labeling of the newly generated data with the aid of the active learning approach. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our method, we implement our proposed methods on the five benchmark datasets. Spinal cord injury (SCI) leads to severe sensory and motor dysfunction below the lesion. However, the cellular dynamic responses and heterogeneity across different regions below the lesion remain to be elusive. Here, we used single-cell transcriptomics to investigate the region-related cellular responses in female rhesus monkeys with complete thoracic SCI from acute to chronic phases. We found that distal lumbar tissue cells were severely impacted, leading to degenerative microenvironments characterized by disease-associated microglia and oligodendrocytes activation alongside increased inhibitory interneurons proportion following SCI. By implanting scaffold into the injury sites, we could improve the injury microenvironment through glial cells and fibroblast regulation while remodeling spared lumbar tissues via reduced inhibitory neurons proportion and improved phagocytosis and myelination. Our findings offer crucial pathological insights into the spared distal tissues and proximal tissues after SCI, emphasizing the importance of scaffold-based treatment approaches targeting heterogeneous microenvironments. The northern Central Range of Taiwan is a high-potential geothermal region. Since the formations are mainly tight metasandstone and slate, permeable structures associated with faults are commonly considered as conduits of geothermal fluids. This study determines the characteristics and orientations of the permeable fault zones by analyzing the geophysical logs and microresistivity formation image log (FMI) of the JT-4 well in Jentse, an important geothermal area in the northern Central Range. Between 720 and 1480 m measured depth (MD), the effective porosity of the intact host rock is mostly below 3% calculated by the geophysical log. Zones with porosity greater than 5% are only clustered within a few thin intervals. The FMI interpretations show these porous zones are in the interior of the fractured and faulted intervals. These porous fault zones comprise fault damage zones with a high density of open fracture planes and fault cores with porous fault breccias. There is a highly brecciated fault core in 1334–1339 m MD, which would be the most permeable interval of the well. Additionally, some healed fault zones with sealed fractures are observed. The picked drilling-induced tensile fractures signify that the direction of the present-day maximum horizontal principal stress is N40–50°E, and most of the open fractures also strike parallel to the NE–SW direction. The study results show that the open fractures are concentrated in the four fault zones belonging to one major normal fault system. After integrating the orientations and locations of the fault zones, we propose that the permeable normal fault system is about 200 m wide, trends N50–70°E, and dips 70–80° to the NW. The development of the open fractures and the permeable fault system in the northern Central Range may be controlled by the current rifting of the Okinawa Trough offshore northeastern Taiwan. This paper presents a novel framework combining the state-based peridynamics (SBPD) with the extended finite element method (XFEM) for crack propagation in two-dimensional solids. Numerical examination is conducted fulfilling both the quasi-static and time-dependent loading conditions. The computational domain is partitioned into two regions: (a) SPBD region: the vicinity of crack tips and potential region where the crack is likely to propagate, and (b) XFEM region: the area behind the crack tip and the rest of the body. The salient features of the developed framework include: (a) avoiding requirement of a priori knowledge of enrichment functions like the conventional XFEM; (b) without fracture criteria for crack propagation; (c) no restriction on the value of Poisson's ratio like the bond-based peridynamics; and (d) higher computational efficiency than the pure peridynamics. The efficiency and accuracy of the proposed framework are systematically demonstrated through benchmark examples involving quasi-static crack growth and dynamic crack branching problems. The nickel-rich layered ternary cathode material has gained widespread interest for its high theoretical specific capacity. However, the inferior charge/discharge cycle, because of increased side reactions at high cut-off voltages, severely limits its application in industrial applications. Improving the electrochemical performance of LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 by forming a protective layer without changing the structural characteristics of the electrode material itself is considered to be the most effective method. In this work, we constructed a LixCoO2 crystalline cladding layer through an extremely effortless and very easy-to-industrialize method. These coating materials significantly improved the cycling stability of NCM811 at 4.8 V ultra-high cut-off voltage. Results of characterization showed that after 100 cycles at 1 C (2.8–4.8 V), the 1.0 wt% modified NCM811 and pristine NCM811 show a retention of 77% and 53%, respectively. This is attributable to the fact that the coating material can effectively mitigate the interfacial side reactions to protect the active electrode material, further enhance the kinetic transport properties of Li+ across the interface, and reduce the degradation of the bulk structure. Based on these results, we think that the LixCoO2 crystalline cladding layer is a useful way to very significantly elevate the properties of nickel-rich lithium metal oxide electrode materials. Purpose: Soil compaction inhibits root growth by limiting ethylene diffusion and often occurs in apple orchards. This study explored the mechanism of ethylene accumulation around apple roots in compacted soil from a microbial perspective, as well as its effects on root architecture, to improve root growth. Methods: One-year-old potted apple (Malus domestica Borkh 'Red Fuji') trees whose rootstocks were Malus hupehensis (Mh) and Malus robusta (Mr) were used as materials. After maintaining soil compaction for one year, the root growth, root ethylene, and ethylene-modulating bacteria were detected, and correlation analysis was performed. This work isolated rhizosphere ACC deaminase-producing bacteria (ADPB), inoculated ADPB with Mh seedlings, and then measured ACC and ethylene contents, root growth, and acdS and efe copies. Results: Soil compaction changed root architecture, decreased root activity, and inhibited root growth in both Mh and Mr. In addition, soil compaction enhanced root ACC and ethylene contents and reduced the acdS/efe ratio. Pearson's correlation analysis indicated that rhizosphere ADPB was significantly correlated with ethylene production and root growth. After the inoculation of ADPB with Mh seedlings in compacted soil, the number of acdS copies and the acdS/efe ratio were increased, the root ACC and ethylene contents were decreased, and root growth was improved. Conclusion: The ACC content in compacted soil was a decisive precursor of ethylene production in apple roots. Inoculating ADPB improved the root growth of Mh in compacted soil by down-regulating ACC and ethylene contents and recovering the ratio of acdS/efe, thereby alleviating compaction stress on apple roots.
