Abstract

The article discusses a research study about the phosphorylation of histone H3 serine 10 (H3S10) in the transcriptional process governed by estrogens. The study revealed that the phosphorylation of H3S10 has an important role in the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Researchers believed that high levels of oxidized bases can promote DNA damage which can trigger programmed cell death.
