Abstract

Die regionalen kooperativen Rheumazentren haben sich in den letzten 25 Jahren deutschlandweit als „Katalysatoren“ zur Verbesserung der rheumatologischen Versorgung auf vielfältigen Ebenen etabliert. Sie haben mit Kampagnen und vielen Aktivitäten die Sichtbarkeit des Fachgebietes gemeinsam mit rheumatologischen Bündnispartnern gefördert und auf wissenschaftlicher Seite gemeinsam mit dem Deutschen Rheumaforschungszentrum zur Verbesserung der rheumatologischen Versorgungsforschung in Deutschland beigetragen. Die regionalen kooperativen Rheumazentren sind in ihrem Zusammenschluss als Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Rheumatologie inzwischen zu einem wichtigen Partner im „Netzwerk Rheumatologie“ geworden, und sie stellen sich auch in Zukunft neuen Aufgaben zur weiteren Verbesserung der rheumatologischen Versorgung in Deutschland.

Abstract

Background: The classification of intraocular lymphomas is based on their anatomical location. They are divided into uveal lymphomas with involvement of the choroid, ciliary body or iris and vitreoretinal lymphomas with isolated or combined involvement of the vitreous body and/or retina. Over the last decades it has become increasingly possible to work out the clinical and pathobiological features of the various subtypes, thereby reducing the diagnostic hurdles and creating improved treatment options., Objective: A summary of the various types of intraocular lymphoma in terms of clinical features, diagnostics, treatment and prognosis is given as well as recommendations for follow-up care., Methods: A selective literature search was carried out on the subject of intraocular lymphomas using PubMed and Google Scholar., Results: Intraocular lymphomas affect different structures, so that the symptoms can also be very different. The diagnostic spectrum ranges from typical ocular examination methods to sample biopsies with subsequent cytological, histological and molecular pathological processing. The treatment pillars available are percutaneous irradiation and intravitreal drug administration as local treatment and systemic treatment or a combination of systemic and local treatment. The prognosis depends mainly on the subtype of the lymphoma and the extent of the infestation when the diagnosis is confirmed. Even though some effective treatment options are now available, it has not yet been possible to significantly reduce the mortality rate., Conclusion: Many different options are available for the diagnostics and treatment of intraocular lymphomas, which require close interdisciplinary cooperation. The further developments in the field of molecular pathology allow a faster and more accurate diagnosis and could open up new treatment options in the future., (© 2022. 26. [The 40th anniversary of the German Interdisciplinary Association of Critical Care Medicine : A ceremonial address on the occasion of the anniversary].

Abstract

During the 17th annual meeting, the German Interdisciplinary Association of Critical Care Medicine (DIVI) celebrated its 40th anniversary. On this occasion a speech was given with the following content. In 1977, the DIVI was founded as an umbrella association for medical societies involved in critical care. It became a well-respected representative for matters of critical care medicine. During the following period, many important recommendations for critical care were issued, such as on structural and staffing standards, further education, treatment concepts, etc. In 2007, DIVI was changed into a membership society. The activities within the society are mostly done within the sections where members of the various disciplines (internists, anesthesiologists, neurologists, etc.) and professions (physicians, nurses) cooperate together on special topics. Currently, critical care in Germany has to overcome severe problems: rigorous economic pressure, critical lack of staff, missing professional long-term perspectives for intensivists, weak representation at international conferences. DIVI and its contributing societies must urgently join together in order to overcome these existential problems.
