This volume constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Graphical Models for Security, GraMSec 2015, held in Verona, Italy, in July 2015. The 5 revised full papers presented together with one short tool paper and one invited lecture were carefully reviewed and selected from 13 submissions. The workshop contributes to the development of well-founded graphical security models, efficient algorithms for their analysis, as well as methodologies for their practical usage, thus providing an intuitive but systematic methodology to analyze security weaknesses of systems and to evaluate potential protection measures.

This book presents two main sets of paper-based analytical systems. The first set is a platform for the analysis of glucose, cholesterol and uric acid in biological samples, and the second set is a cutting-edge electronic tongue system for the analysis of beverages (mineral water, beer, wine). This thesis also provides an extensive review of 33 methods of enzyme immobilization on paper which have been evaluated to enhance the storage stability of the proposed system for biomarker detection. From a practical perspective, this thesis covers a diverse set of topics related to paper-based sensing, including colorimetric and electrochemical detection methods, different sets of architecture (spot-tests, lateral and tangential flow assays), methods of fabrication (wax printing, cutting, impregnation with polymers), measurements in stationary and flow conditions as well computer modeling of proposed systems and sophisticated data analysis using chemometric techniques. This volume is devoted to presentation of new results of research on systems of non-integer order, called also fractional systems. Their analysis and practical implementation have been the object of spontaneous development for a few last decades. The fractional order models can depict a physical plant better than the classical integer order ones. This covers different research fields such as insulator properties, visco-elastic materials, electrodynamic, electrothermal, electrochemical, economic processes modelling etc. On the other hand fractional controllers often outperform their integer order counterparts. This volume contains new ideas and examples of implementation, theoretical and pure practical aspects of using a non-integer order calculus. It is divided into four parts covering: mathematical fundamentals, modeling and approximations, controllability, observability and stability problems and practical applications of fractional control systems. This book is devoted to the analysis of causal inference which is one of the most difficult tasks in data analysis: when two phenomena are observed to be related, it is often difficult to decide whether one of them causally influences the other one, or whether these two phenomena have a common cause. This analysis is the main focus of this volume. To get a good understanding of the causal inference, it is important to have models of economic phenomena which are as accurate as possible. Because of this need, this volume also contains papers that use non-traditional economic models, such as fuzzy models and models obtained by using neural networks and data mining techniques. It also contains papers that apply different econometric models to analyze real-life economic dependencies.

The 13 full papers presented together with 3 short papers and 1 invited talk were carefully reviewed and selected from 50 submissions. The goal of this symposium, is to bring together researchers and practitioners to advance the states of the art and practice in secure software engineering. The presentations and associated publications at ESSoS 2016 contribute to this goal in several directions: First, by improving methodologies for secure software engineering (such as flow analysis and policy compliance). Second, with results for the detection and analysis of software vulnerabilities and the attacks they enable. Finally, for securing software for specific application domains (such as mobile devices and access control).

The two-volume set LNCS 9516 and LNCS 9517 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 22nd International Conference on Multimedia Modeling, MMM 2016, held in Miami, FL, USA, in January 2016. The 32 revised full papers and 52 poster papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 117 submissions. In addition 20 papers were accepted for five special sessions out of 38 submissions as well as 7 demonstrations (from 11 submissions) and 9 video showcase papers. This volume contains the best papers presented at the 2nd ECCOMAS International Conference on Multiscale Computations for Solids and Fluids, held June 10-12, 2015. Topics dealt with include multiscale strategy for efficient development of scientific software for large-scale computations, coupled probability-nonlinear-mechanics problems and solution methods, and modern mathematical and computational setting for multi-phase flows and fluid-structure interaction. The papers consist of contributions by six experts who taught short courses prior to the conference, along with several selected articles from other participants dealing with complementary issues, covering both solid mechanics and applied mathematics.

This volume showcases recent high-quality work relating to the pathophysiology, biophysics, monitoring, and treatment of traumatic brain injury and hydrocephalus that was presented at the 15th International Symposium on Intracranial Pressure and Brain Monitoring (ICP), held in Singapore in November 2013. The included papers derive from experts in neurointensive care, physiology, physics, engineering, and neurosurgery who have made important contributions in this translational area of research. This book is the outcome of the CIMPA School on Statistical Methods and Applications in Insurance and Finance, held in Marrakech and Kelaat M'gouna (Morocco) in April 2013. It presents two lectures and seven refereed papers from the school, offering the reader important insights into key topics.
