Zwei Begleitstudien untersuchen die Teilschritte „Lernprozesse diagnostizieren“ und „Lernprozesse reflektieren“ des Prozessmodells zum zyklischen Forschenden Lernen im Lehr‐Lern‐Labor. In der ersten Studie werden Studierende mit qualitativen Fragebogen bei der Entwicklung und Erprobung von Diagnoseinstrumenten begleitet. Aus einer Inhaltsanalyse dieser Fragebogen lassen sich Erkenntnisse uber verschiedene Herangehensweisen der Studierenden gewinnen. Auftretende Herausforderungen deuten auf eine Notwendigkeit der starkeren Forderung der Diagnosekompetenzen im Lehramtsstudium hin. Die Unterrichtsreflexion der Studierenden wird im Rahmen einer Grounded‐Theory‐Studie mittels Gruppendiskussion genauer untersucht. Die Ergebnisse verweisen auf eine zentrale Achsenkategorie „Darstellen der eigenen Professionalitat“. Diese wird genauer vorgestellt und mit Beispielen veranschaulicht. Aus der Verbindung beider Studien werden am Ende des Artikels Implikationen fur den Einsatz des Prozessmodells im Lehramtsstudium abgeleitet.

Der landliche Raum und seine Probleme stehen zunehmend im Fokus von Politik und Gesellschaft. Zahlreiche Projekte zeigen, dass es moglich ist, Zukunftsperspektiven zu schaffen, die auch wirtschaftlich nachhaltig sind, indem Ressourcen und vermeintliche Abfalle kaskadiert und Innovationen an die Gegebenheiten vor Ort angepasst werden. Grose Unternehmen sollten ihr Corporate-Social-Responsibility-Engagement nutzen, um sich in solche komplexen und zeitintensiven Prozesse einzubringen, sei es als Geld- und Ratgeber oder auch als Initiator von Netzwerken und Kooperationen. Sie konnen dadurch echten Mehrwert fur sich schaffen – neben finanziellen Gewinnen auch eine hohere Glaubwurdigkeit gegenuber den Kunden, Loyalitat von Mitarbeitern und einen Wissensvorsprung gegenuber ihren Wettbewerbern. Der Beitrag schildert mehrere Beispiele fur das Zusammenspiel zwischen Unternehmen, Burgern und anderen Stakeholdern in regionalen Vorhaben und zeigt Erfolgsfaktoren auf.

Prof war ein Mathematikstudent im 16. Semester, der es offenbar nicht besonders eilig hatte, mit seinem Studium fertig zu werden. Schon vor Jahren hatte er sich zur Hauptprufung anmelden sollen, der Zulassungsantrag lag fast fertig ausgefullt ganz unten in einer uberquellenden Ablage auf seinem Schreibtisch. Es fehlten nur noch das Thema seiner Diplomarbeit und seine Unterschrift. Vorschlage hatte er im Laufe seines Hauptstudiums von seinen Professoren genug bekommen. Aber wie konnte er sicher sein, das Richtige zu wahlen, wenn es noch Vorlesungen gab, die er noch nicht gehort hatte, Seminare, die er noch nicht besucht hatte? Man durfte eine solche Entscheidung nicht ubersturzen. Statt sich von irgendwelchen Regelstudienzeiten unter Druck setzen zu lassen, hing Prof lieber in Kneipen herum und verwickelte Leute in Gesprache uber Mathematik, woher sein Spitzname Prof ruhrte. Naturlich hatte er auch einen richtigen Namen, aber den kannte kaum jemand, und er ist auch nicht weiter von Belang.

Feature-oriented programming (FOP) is an extension of ob- ject-oriented programming to support software variability by refining existing classes and methods. In order to increase the reliability of all implemented program variants, we integrate design by contract (DbC) with FOP. DbC is an approach to build reliable object-oriented software by specifying methods with contracts. Contracts are annotations that document and formally specify behavior, and can be used for formal verification of correctness or as test oracles. We present and discuss five approaches to define contracts of methods and their refinements in FOP. Furthermore, we share our insights gained by performing five case studies. This work is a foundation for research on the analysis of feature-oriented programs (e.g., for verifying functional correctness or for detecting feature interactions).

In feature-oriented programming, a feature is an increment in program functionality and is implemented by a feature module. Programs are generated by composing feature modules. A generated program may be used by other client programs but occasionally must be transformed to match a particular legacy interface before it can be used. We call the mismatch of the interface of a generated program and a client-desired interface an incompatibility . We introduce the notion of refactoring feature modules (RFMs) that extend feature modules with refactorings. We explain how RFMs reduce incompatibilities and facilitate reuse, and report our experiences on five case studies.

A software product line (SPL) is a family of related program variants in a well-defined domain, generated from a set of features. A fundamental difference from classical application development is that engineers develop not a single program but a whole family with hundreds to millions of variants. This makes it infeasible to separately check every distinct variant for errors. Still engineers want guarantees on the entire SPL. A further challenge is that an SPL may contain artifacts in different languages (code, documentation, models, etc.) that should be checked. In this paper, we present CIDE, an SPL development tool that guarantees syntactic correctness for all variants of an SPL. We show how CIDE’s underlying mechanism abstracts from textual representation and we generalize it to arbitrary languages. Furthermore, we automate the generation of plug-ins for additional languages from annotated grammars. To demonstrate the language-independent capabilities, we applied CIDE to a series of case studies with artifacts written in Java, C++, C, Haskell, ANTLR, HTML, and XML.

Design patterns provide solutions to recurring design problems in object-oriented programming. Design patterns typically crosscut class boundaries so previous work aimed at improving modularity of their implementations. A series of recent studies has focused on aspect-oriented programming while other crosscutting techniques such as collaboration-based designs have remained unexplored. In this paper, we address this limitation by presenting a qualitative case study based on the Gang-of-Four design patterns comparing and contrasting mechanisms of representative languages of collaboration-based designs (Jak) and aspect-oriented programming (AspectJ). Our work yields guidelines for using both paradigms when implementing design patterns exploiting their relative strengths.

Software development for embedded systems gains momentum but faces many challenges. Especially the constraints of deeply embedded systems, i.e., extreme resource and performance constraints, seem to prohibit the successful application of modern and approved programming and modularization techniques. In this paper we indicate that this objection is not necessarily justified. We propose to use refinement chain optimization to tailor and streamline feature-oriented designs to satisfy the resource constraints of (deeply) embedded systems. By means of a quantitative analysis of a case study we show that our proposal leads to a performance and footprint improvement significant for (deeply) embedded systems.
