This volume offers an overview of the occurrence of emerging organic contaminants in Mediterranean rivers and their relevance to their chemical and ecological quality under water scarcity. The occurrence of'emerging contaminants'in wastewaters, and their behavior during wastewater treatment and production of drinking water are key issues in the re-use of water resources.
