Abstract

A literary criticism of the Middle English allegorical narrative poem "Piers Plowman" is presented. It explores the structural use of the "Three Lives: Dowel, Dobet, and Dobest" in the 17 manuscripts of B text. The author considers rubrication and marginal notations of the passus in a close textual analysis.
